Worst experience in Portugal by far! The staff are rude and treat you like you are a second class citizen. Save your money for a better experience! We got the tasting menu based on other reviews. The octopus was not perfectly grilled. It was tough and hard to cut with a knife. In my opinion, a well cooked octopus should be soft and tender and easy to chew but not overly chewy. This was over cooked. The dishes also came out slow and it seemed they were understaffed. Many of the tables appeared to be cleaned and ready for other guests but guests were not seated for at least 10 minutes. I have a business of my own and this would be considered poor customer service, not to mention poor business practice. A unique dining experience- we waited almost 30-40min but they checked often and have a bar window you can order drinks while you wait (genius). Their pizco sour is amazing- fresh, sour and light. My favorite dishes were the beetroot ceviche which had a sour and slight sweet mix with the lychee- absolutely loved it plus what an amazing color. Highly recommend. The tuna tartare tacos ended up being messy to eat but the slight spiciness in the flavor was fantastic. The crab was delicious- especially liked the flavor of the ink potatoes and radish with the lump crab but just did not enjoy the small cup of minced crab. Fantastic! For a promise that I would not linger, the maitre'd let me grab a solo bar seat with zero wait, while parties of 2+ were being quoted 45-60 mins. I felt a wee bit self-conscious jumping the queue... but only for a moment, since the evening was pleasant, pretty much everyone had a glass of something to sip as they spilled out onto the sidewalk, and they all seemed content in their knowledge that the wait would be totally worth it. And, oh yes, it would have been worth a pretty long wait. First I was surprised by the house's enjoyably odd mix of small bites which I probably won't describe correctly: a large black squid ink cracker, an almost liquid chèvre spread, cornbread, something like a green garlic butter, and hominy (think Corn Nuts). It's already fun and I haven't even gotten what I ordered! The "ceviche pur", a classic whitefish ceviche delivered with a surprisingly perfect counterpoint of puréed sweet potato and a small sweet potato crisp, appears to be a signature dish and perhaps the most popular, judging by my excellent view of the prep station. My other choice achieved equal heights of surprise and satisfaction with a similar formula of tangy acidic fresh seafood combined with earthy root vegetables, in this case scallops, salmon and mashed potatoes, but with its own flavor personality and an entirely different presentation. Okay I gave this place 4 stars only cause we went there like 2 times before actually getting seated cause the wait time to eat there is forever! Besides that though I am Peruvian and this is one of the BEST Peruvian restaurants I've ever been to. Absolutely mouth watering. All the food was detailed and even the drinks were amazing. Some friends of ours recommended this place and told us we really need to go to this place. So we did. When we arrived we were told to wait and we waited 1,5 hours. It was a pretty long line but we were too curious. It was definitely worth the wait! The food was so good! We went for the taste menu and we got 6 different dishes. All of them were tasteful. I actually went here twice while visiting - it was that good. The first time, I happened to stumble by it as it was opening, which is my lunchtime (much earlier than the Lisboans). My timing was fortunate, as it is a no reservation type place. It's a small restaurant with a big square middle bar that you can watch your food being prepared as you drink your wine wth a large octupus looming over you. The first time I ordered two dishes - the peruvian ceviche and bbq octupus - both very good. But all around me people were getting the five course tasting meal for something like 40 Euros - that offered slightly smaller portions but a lot more to sample. And, all of them looked and sounded fantastic. So, for dinner the next night (again before the typical late Lisboan dining time - so I had no wait) I ended up here again to try the 5-course meal. Not only was the food, the vibe and the service exceptional - they were some of the most creative and beautfully presented dishes I've tried in awhile...my faves on it were the tuna/beetroot combo, Halibut with a delicious vinigarette, and a riff on paella - using quinoa, shrimp, nori and oyster foam among other things. I don't have much of a sweet tooth - so while creative the dessert a quinoa cookie was overly sweet. Bottom Line: Highly recommended for those who love fresh seafood and creative presentations combined with a good vibe and service at a bargain deal... just get their early to avoid a wait. read more

We arrived at the restaurant for dinner at 6:30 pm (early for Portuguese standards). Plenty of tables available. The host/waiter had about the warmth and interpersonal skills of a cold slab of marble at a funeral. He was detached and unfriendly. I pointed to an empty table we could take, and he signaled with his hand for us to stay put and wait. He walked away and finally gestured us in. As soon as I sat down I felt like it was drizzling on top of me. I looked at the ceiling but could see no water. It was the AC above spitting water on top of our table. The food was awful, despite much hype online, and clearly not close to what ceviche (or whatever variation this is) should look or taste like. As a reference, I have traveled to and within Peru 15 times in the last 25 years. I know Peruvian cuisine and many fusion variations in different countries. I ordered an African prawn (small) dish with Tobiko (fish) eggs (€28!!!) that had some tasteless brownish watery sauce on the bottom with a orange ice dust/shavings on top that was equally tasteless - it tasted like burnt ice on foods that have been frozen for too long. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress and also the fact that we didn't see any Tobiko eggs, she immediately made up the story that the orange dust was the Tobiko eggs. "No, Tobiko eggs are like a caviar, the eggs pop in your mouth when you bite into them." She was clueless. We told her to take the dish back and she offered to order a new dish, which we did. So, she left to speak with the cook at the counter (behind us) and my wife saw him laugh when the waitress was explaining the situation with our dish. Finally, she comes back and admits to us that the dish was missing the Tobiko eggs because "they are out of them, and there's something wrong with the ice machine." I've machine??? Anyway, they served a dish (€28) without having a key ingredient - that shows you the greed and disrespect they have for customers. They think customers are stupid and won't know the different, because many will actually order it, eat it, and probably not know the difference. Shameful. Other dishes were equally unimpressive, and pricey for the quality. The three small fish tacos were the only decent choice. If you've never had real ceviche, think the plastic octopus hanging on the ceiling is enough to create the right experience, and buy the hype you read on the reviews, then try it for yourself. The pisco sour drinks are a complete rip-off (€12) and served in a narrow, champagne-like glass (wrong glass). No Peruvian pisco sour is ever served in such a tiny, narrow glass. Why do they do it this way? The Portuguese and most tourists don't know the difference and they make a killing on very little content in those small glasses. Now comes the best part. We were in the middle of our meal, with me literally putting food in my mouth, and the stone faced host comes to me and says "I need your table." I looked up at him trying to process what he just said, in disbelief. I said "you need my table? Now?" To which he replied "yes, I need it, I have people coming." My wife and I looked at each other speechless. I proceeded to move everything from my table to the table on the right. Then, realizing the awkwardness of the situation and our reaction, the host said he would turn off the AC in the restaurant so it would stop drizzling on top of us and our food. You can't make this up. We finished up quickly, skipped coffee and dessert, paid our "incredible" €136 dinner (yes, the place is grotesquely overpriced for the quality) and left. Once upon a time I thought I was in Lisbon, but for a second I was clearly in Peru eating the most delicious ceviche I had ever feasted upon. Heavenly! We almost skipped this place. It's not Portuguese! WE'RE IN PORTUGAL! But this place just kept coming up - list after list, recommendation after recommendation. So how could we not?! And that GOODNESS we did - because this was easily the best meal we had the entire trip. Unfortunately we went on the last day we were in Lisbon, or I would have eaten there a million more times. I'd go back to the city just for this. You think I lie? I never lie. Fresh, beautiful and flavors to die for. The restaurant is open, airy and inviting. The staff is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and really have a passion for their craft. And a true craft it is! Highly skilled chefs in the kitchen let me tell you! Fortunately they have a bar that opens up onto the street, so that kept us entertained! We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed watching the chefs create intricate dishes. Pretty underwhelming dinner from start to finish. Don't understand the hype. We arrived at 5:30pm hoping to put our names down for a bit later, but was told they didn't take reservations (fine) but as long as we come before 7pm "there wouldn't be a wait." We came back a bit after 6pm and ended up waiting for over an hour to be seated. They kept pushing off groups of 2-3 to make room for a family of 6, that hadn't arrived til much after everyone else AND ended up going elsewhere because they didn't want to sit at the counter. This poor expectation management and real-life Diner Dash disaster aside, the actual dinner didn't meet expectations either. My fiancé and I ordered 5 dishes to share: - the carrot and ginger gazpacho with scallop, which was primarily composed of chia seeds in a carrot ginger juice with scallops as an afterthought - tuna ceviche, which was fine (much sweeter than any other ceviche I've had, so all I could really taste was the beet juice) - portuguese ceviche (mixture of cod and octopus), which came under a mound of what tasted like hollandaise sauce and was overall pretty standard. This was the best dish of the night, and it was on par with the ceviche I'd had in Peru. There wasn't anything particularly innovative (as other reviewers claimed) except for crunchy strips of potato. - the BBQ octopus causa, which was some of the worst octopus I've had in recent memory. I'm a HUGE fan of octopus, but this was extremely chewy and just tasted like the sweet BBQ sauce on top. You'd think they would have had a better octopus dish given the 5 foot monstrosity hanging over the center of the restaurant...? - "king crab" causa, which didn't have much king crab at all, but more of the sort of seafood paté you'd find for a couple dollars elsewhere. Each bite was legitimately 80% potato. Ambience was a miss as well. Extremely loud and filled with other tourists. I didn't come all the way to Portugal to listen to another New Yorker's tirade about her secondhand sorority experiences or a whole screaming recap of the last two seasons of GoT. TLDR - If you want a similar dining experience back in NYC, grab a bottle of Juice Press and pour over the ceviche at Pio Pio, preferably the Murray Hill location to get just the right mix of patrons. read more

Likes: - The Pure Ceviche was very tasty. - Service was attentive and pleasant. Not a fan of: - The couvert included corn bread, flat bread made with cuttlefish ink and some very salty nuts. The bread was okay and the dip and spread were a bit over-seasoned. I think it was around 3-4 euros per person for the couvert. We didn't think it was worth the price. - We waited for over an hour as this restaurant does not take reservations. We tried the 6 course tasting menu for 43.80 euros, which was quite a steal. Although service was good, the overall dining experience was quite underwhelming. Waiting over an hour for a table definitely contributed to it and we just can't relate to the hype around this place. The first dish was the green gazpacho with scallop, which was served in a small dish shaped like an oyster. The gazpacho was refreshing and the flavours balanced nicely. I didn't taste or see pieces of scallop in it. The addition of sago was interesting since it is typically added to desserts in Chinese culture. The Pure Ceviche was my favourite dish for the night. The star of the dish was obviously the white fish, which was extremely fresh and clean in taste. It was nicely complimented with 2 large dollops of mousse like mashed sweet potato, and a complex and perfectly balanced citrus-based marinade (i.e. tiger's milk). I loved the sharpness added by the pungent and sweet red onions. The Salmon Ceviche felt a bit repetitive, although the citrus-based marinade was a bit sweeter, with the addition of orange, mango and dragonfruit. Instead of sweet potatoe, they complimented the salmon with 2 large dollops of carrot mousse. The citrus foam added a slight thickness to the marinade, which I enjoyed, although I preferred the flavour profile of the previous dish. The BBQ Octopus Causa was probably my least favourite dish. The octopus was tender, but it did not pair well with the barbeque sauce, which was too sweet. The sauce was one-dimensional and lacked depth and complexity. I am not sure if I liked the combination of the Sea Quinoto. The soft texture of quinoa and the addition of a generous portion of oyster and kombu foam created a very wet and saucy dish. The seafood on top was also slightly overcooked. While the white fish ceviche was impressive, this cooked version was the complete opposite, bland and unexciting. Overall, the combination of ingredients didn't work well for me, but I did enjoy the flavours of the foam and quinoa which was likely cooked in some sort of seafood stock. The dessert was a pretty common combination, a piece of brownie with chocolate cream and banana. Nothing memorable. Overall, I would re-visit if I happen to be in Lisbon again, but only if the restaurant took reservations! They have a few other ceviche options that I would like to try out, and the Pure Ceviche is something I will miss. read more

This review isn't for the food. It's for the wait. Or that's how it started. The staff have no idea how long it will take to seat anyone. So there are 5 tables in front of you translates into 90 f'ing minutes. A couple in their late thirties have been nursing the same centimetre of wine in one glass since their puberty while debating whether to sh@g or not while a dozen people have been standing outside in the cold. They could be honest and just say "you will be waiting at least an hour (or two hours) and then you can decide to go and eat somewhere else instead of standing up in the doorway or outside. How it happened, as it happened or actually as I'm writing this at the restaurant, how it's happening. 20:10 We arrived, we waited, we went on the list of people who wanted a table, we drank something outside. 21:15 We became p!ssed off at waiting and got irate with the manager together with a Portuguese lady who had been waiting for a table since Easter. The Portuguese lady was upset about the couple that had been toying with a near empty glass for an hour after finishing their meal while she was standing up, waiting for a table. The manager said that they had already asked the couple if they wanted anything else. In London they would have been given their bill, half an hour later they would have been asked politely to leave. Thirty minutes later they would have been told to leave and in some parts of East London, taken to the kitchen to be turned into a course for the next day's diners. We concluded that the manager, you could tell he was the manager because he was wearing a check shirt instead of the official polo shirt needed to be fired rather a lot. 21:45 After waiting long enough to be eligible for a free pensioner bus pass, we were seated. The house white is cheap and drinkable and to go with it, we went for the tasting menu: 22:00 Dish No1 was scallop with tapioca, which look like little pearls, salmon roe and gazpacho served in a ceramic oyster shell. It looked beautiful. It tasted, if it tasted like anything at all, like cold snot. 22:10 Dish No2 the "pure ceviche" was actually quite nice. The white fish tasted citrusy and the sweet potato chips were pleasant. There was some creamy nonsense with it that would have been better left in the kitchen, but the place was beginning to redeem itself. 22:20 Dish No3 was tuna ceviche which was flavoured with beetroot and garnished with something much like a popadom. This was alright, an interesting combination of flavours. Apparently the dish also included "Tiger milk". I couldn't detect any personally but I have much respect for the person that milked the tiger. 22:25 A pregnant lady was given a chair in the doorway while waiting for a table. I felt sorry for her as her child will probably be christened before she eats here. 22:35 Our off piste, or in fact a la carte dishes of mixed ceviche and salmon ceviche arrived. These are both OK. I guess you just have to like sour, raw fish to appreciate them. I start to detect a theme forming. 22:50 Dish No4 barbecued octopus on mashed potato dyed black with squid ink. This is possibly the most pretentious dish I have ever eaten. It is the culinary equivalent of a Victoria Beckham labelled dress and similarly devoid of taste and class. 22:57 I spot a man wearing a Casio LCD watch style circa 1978 and my suspicions about this place being the most pretentious restaurant in the world are confirmed. I wonder idly if it may be the set in a production of The Emperor's New Clothes. 23:05 Dish No5 white fish that has actually been cooked accompanied by quinoa and "oyster foam". This is a hot dish and the first of the evening that actually tastes like food. I like it and so does my girlfriend. I regret not just ordering this, but less so than I regret coming here in the first place. About 30 seconds ago I told the waiter I enjoyed this dish. He said that ceviche wasn't the best way to "cook" and I agreed suggesting that they sell more cooked fish. 23:14 Dish No6 arrived. The dessert, a mouthful of chocolate mousse and some bready stuff. I have never left a restaurant so disappointed. They don't take reservations, they don't need to. My advice though is to walk past this place. If you see an empty table, pop in and try the food. I guess I just don't get ceviche, the flavours are subtle, it seems just that bit too fussy for me, I don't really get the hype about the place. It's not worth waiting to eat here, not unless you have a mad addiction to ceviche. I've eaten meals I've enjoyed more in a thousand places and I've never waited as long to be seated. My advice? We received this restaurant recommendation from a friend. We showed up at 7:15 and already a line-up outside. We had to wait an hour for the table but we were served pisco sours for our wait. The manager clearly knew how to organize the room and we appreciated how creative he was about getting us a table for 4. Once inside the room was amazing. Small space but fantastic decor and lively vibe. Food was creative, daring and delicious. Not a place for the vanilla eater but we loved it. Highly recommend but be ready to wait. First and foremost: GREAT concept. I do love a good concept. Expect a wait...for lunch get here either before 12 or after 2pm. We got there after 2 and still waited 1.5 hour. By that time we were in a hurry because we had an appointment at 4pm. This is called SLOW food for a reason. Even though the food is mostly already prepped, the nice gentlemen do enjoy their process. So come here with some time, order some food, a drink. Walk to the nearby kiosk and come back in time for a delicious meal. The food was very good. Outside we ordered the tuna taco and the ceviche. Inside we had the gazpacho and the mixed ceviche. Delicious. The staff was very nice and tried to accommodate us for our time constraint. All in all, a definite MUST when in Lisbon. Wow, I mean wow! Let me set the scene for you, the reader of my most amazing review: I'm doing my own version of "The Layover" in Lisbon. I've got 24 hours before I board a plane bound for the great north. I land is Lisbon and 6:40pm and I want to have a truly exceptional experience with my first time in this grand city. I look on the Yelps, finder of great experiences far and wide, and find this place. A quick stop at the Airbnb and I'm on my way back for a Thursday night meal. We sit immediately, a table for 2. There's a set menu for 35€ that has 6 courses and its calling my name. Me and my dining partner both order it. The first course is up and it's two small glass jars, one a butter infused with squid ink, the other a paté made of tomato, ricotta, and I forget what else. I order a pisco sour. Delicious and incredible feelings ensue. Over the next hour and half the course blow by, I'm experiencing a flood of emotions with every additional delicious fish course. A quinoa risotto with oyster foam and white fish is memorable for its creativity, fantastic texture and complexity! The croquette is memorable in that it was my least favorite but still a delicious dish. The dessert was incredible, a real treat. This place leaves me with feelings of joy, for a 24 hour layover it was truly exceptional. I could not recommend this place to more. If you're visiting Lisbon it's a must! read more

The play on flavors is quite interesting. Upon seating, I received an appetizer that consisted of cornbread, nuts, and bread chips with 2 types of dip. The two dips were tasty but the bread was a bit dry. I'm not too sure if the dips were suppose to bring moisture back into the bread. For the second meal, I ordered the salmon ceviche. It's a different take on ceviche which consisted on coconut milk, tapioca, yam puree, pineapple chunks, and raw salmon. The salmon was quite fresh. This meal still has the familiar acidity that a ceviche has; however, it was not enough to cut through the savoriness of the coconut milk. Overall, an interesting take on ceviche. The third course is the grilled baby octopus which lays on top of a mashed potato with padron peppers, and topped with pork belly popcorn. The octopus was very tender and the mashed potato was delicious and tasted very homey. The pork belly popcorn helped with the texture of the dish and the peppers helped cut through the richness of the whole dish. But there was a membraneous part of the octopus which was very off putting. I was not sure if that part was cooked properly or the octopus was not properly cleaned. One set back is the service. The individuals greeting guests are very lively and personable; however, how they attend to their guests' needs were very poor. Upon getting seated, I asked my waiter/server what would be the perfect pairing of white wine to the salmon ceviche I would be ordering. BUT, he immediately cuts me off and tells me "we only have one type of white wine." Such comment surprised me because he appeared very jolly when attending to other guests. I proceeded to tell him that I'll get a glass of their only white wine on the menu. He immediately brought the wine glass, but failed to pour me the wine and bring me water. Halfway done with my entire meal (ate the appetizer and finished my salmon ceviche) I told the guy making the drinks in the front to just cancel my wine order since I am almost done with my meal. When I asked for the my check, I was still getting charged for the glass of wine I never received AND which I cancelled. I do understand that the restaurant may be busy, but for a place to be successful where people would keep coming back, the individuals who work there must provide excellent guest service. For instance, having an extensive knowledge of the menu where one can suggest the perfect wine pairing to complement the dish and just SIMPLY BEING NICE to EVERYONE. The food was forgetful at best. I've been to Peru and this food is a poor representation. Food just wasn't good. Grossly overpriced... I can't believe we spent ~110 euros on this in Lisbon. Or anywhere really because... THERE WAS A COCKROACH crawling on the wall next to my head. I have a huge fear of cockroaches and this Great Dane of a cockroach must have sensed it. I was sitting peacefully, sipping my overpriced margarita mixer when suddenly, my husband locked eyes with me. I knew this look and knew I had to hold it until whatever horror that was occurring ended. While maintaining his ironclad eye lock with me, he grabbed my menu and graceful as a panther, attempted to smash the 2 inch cockroach plotting on the wall next to my head. Post menu slap, he checks to see if the strike was true- it was, however this is no ordinary cockroach and somehow it survived. He proceeded to slide his hand down my menu and I heard an earth shattering crunch as my husband's hand presses against the wall immediate right of my face. Alas! It must be dead... he moved the menu and the roach drops like a brick on the table next to my fork... but continues to fight for life. My instincts kick in at this point and flight or fight turns to flight! I jump from the table, the hubby seized the opportunity and knocks the roach to the floor where he stomps it with all his might, and finally the beast is slayed. We notified the staff and are told "oh these roaches come out of the sewers every night!" ......... Excuse me? Nothing was done to remedy the situation and we paid a hefty bill (nothing was comp'd, my menu with cockroach juice was not replaced, my fork or spoon was not replaced) and it was overall a shit night. So like I said... don't walk, RUN away from this place. read more

We waited an hour and a half for a spot for two, but I would say that the meal was worth it. Though definitely on the pricy side, the selection is incredibly unique, fresh, and delicious. We ordered the salmon and Portuguese ceviches. Both were really good - each bite is slightly different. The king crab was delicious, but it comes as six bite-size tarts and only two of the six have large pieces of crab on them. I would say we could have skipped this. The BBQ octopus was amazing and we were glad to end the meal with something cooked after so much cold and raw in the meal. I do think that there is a large reliance on squid ink to add interest to many of the pieces. Squid ink is a great taste, but literally everything we had used it in some way and it began to be a bit overused. read more

A restaurant that specializes in ceviche?? Yes, it is great! And the concept clearly works as it was packed when we were there late night. It is located right on one of the main drags in Lisbon and has amazing decor, including a huge octopus hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the restaurant. It is light and bright. The service was good and they were definitely accommodating. Now onto the food. I would say that despite having great ceviche, the steak tartare tacos were my favorite. They are on the medium size wise, and so I originally only ordered one. But after tasting it, I had to have another. The flavor was bursting at the seams and the bland shell was the perfect compliment. I have never had anything like it. A trip for the taste buds! read more

Ceviches are really good. The desserts too. I really enjoyed the food there. But something went wrong at the end, they gave us a check with an additional cost of 5€ for the couverts that we did not even have on the table. It is bad that restaurants try to charge more people who do not speak portuguese. So a place who probably could deserve 5 stars, but because they try to add stuffs that you don't even eat, cannot be rated over 2. read more

Wow!. The BEST ceviche we have ever had. Unbelievably fresh seafood and amazing desserts. The Ceviche Portugues and Quinoto do Mar were pure freshness - crisp and refreshing retaining the original natural flavors of the seafood. This place is the definition of a boutique restaurant. It is a small charming restaurant. The decoration is perfect. The service is really friendly and attentive. Em each time they serve something they explain what is in it. The concept is simple: you should order it all to share, because it is more fun. Like this you can try more dishes. Every dish was better than the last one. I highly recommend to order the degustation menu for EUR 35.00 it is value for money! Also you cannot leave without ordering their Pisco Sour. I hate to give this a one star as this was honestly one of my favorite restaurants in the world. But BEWARE OF FOOD POISONING!!!! I dined 03/24, and ordered the 6 course tasting menu. Started showing mild symptoms a few hours after. The next evening, 24 hours after consumption, full on fever, aching, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting. I see that many other patrons have reported food poisoning on yelp and trip advisor so please be careful what you consume if you decide to eat here!!! This place is the real deal and worth the wait (only about 30 min max during lunch hour - 1-2pm). The dishes were absolutely eclectic, flavor forward with all the right textures. Four dishes is good for 2 people but do the tasting menu if you want to try a bit of everything. (Serving sizes are a little smaller and you get 6 different dishes). What an incredible place - by far the best ceviche I've had in a while. The seafood is delicious and as fresh as it gets, the composition of flavors is creative but not gimmicky, and the presentation is stunning in its simplicity. My personal favorite was the ceviche with octopus, which couldn't have been more tender. Although I didn't try any of the desserts, they did look delicious and I will definitely sample them on my next visit. This is a small space but the interior is top notch, showcasing a bright and crisp minimalism - think lots of white marble and a sharp contrast between the stunning blue floor tiles and the white subway tiles on the walls. The space is dominated, of course, by the massive (and highly photogenic) octopus sculpture by Joao Parrinha dangling from the ceiling. The whole operation is completely transparent. Dishes are meticulously prepared in front of you and much of the seafood is stored in plain sight behind the counter. Not only is Chef Kiko a master of his craft, during my visit he was also an extremely forthcoming host who went out of his way to explain the food to me and ensure that I had a positive experience. I definitely recommend A Cevicheria, and will eat here at least one more time before leaving Lisbon. read more

Other yelp reviews plus the fact that I love Ceviché led me to this place while on holiday in Lisbon. Let me tell you this place does not disappoint. I had the shrimp gazpacho and the pure Ceviché, which were both excellent. The silky sweet potato mousse in the Ceviché were a wonderful textural and taste sensation. I also had the quinoa brûlée with guava foam dessert, and while not my favorite thing I ate here, it was also innovative and interesting. Combine the food with an upscale ambience and solid service, and we have a winner on an international scale. read more

I must say, the food was excellent. We tried a couple of the ceviches (the salmon & dragon fruit) was reaaaaally good). HOWEVER, the waiter brought us tortilla chips and two small cornbread cubes and told us it was on the house and then charged us 7 euro and said he was sorry but he had to charge us. I can't stand this type of shady behavior so instead of 5 stars, I'm rating it 1 star due to essentially being lied to. I almost never post on yelp but this really cheesed me off. read more

This was, by far, my favorite meal in Lisboa! We did the tasting menu, and the chef was extremely accommodating and prepared me a menu that was both pescatarian and lactose-free. The waiter, Joao, was super nice, and walked me through each ingredient to make sure it fit my dietary restrictions. This meal in NYC would have cost $200, but it was just €40! Each course was better than the one prior, and I finished the meal full but not overly full, as the meal was very light. The ingredients are all fresh and pure, and each component is bursting with flavor. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat, and I am so sad we came here on our last night as we would have come back every night! This is definitely a must while in Lisbon, just make sure you're here early since there's no reservations and they fill up fast! read more
