After standing in line for 30min. with another restaurant cuz we forgot to place a reservation, we decided to go for this place instead. The staff was very friendly but the ambience threw me off a little bit cuz I didn't really get the concept. Classic? Modern? What do you want to be? It also seemed that for the owners it's more important to show that local celebrities are visiting regularly with a slide show on a big ass flat screen. Also the menu I wasn't able to catch in what direction it wants to go. Although the food turned out to be good, my filet was cooked perfectly and my wife's octopus has been seasoned just right and tasted fresh. Being in business for 20 years plus they seem to do it right for the locals, so I would label it "interesting".

Best service we got in Lisbon. Our waiter had great energy. He seemed like the main waiter on the main floor and was busy but still gave each table individual attention and even took pictures with the guest. We asked for wine recommendations and he picked a tasty red wine. FYI: the bread, cheese, olive, and salami plate they put on the table is not complimentary so ask them politely to take it away if you don't want to eat/be charged for it. - Octopus: very tender and huge portion, would recommend - Rice w/ Lobster & Prawns: I would skip, it's a huge portion but it lacked the sea flavor we were expecting. It became a big portion of soupy rice. - Sirloin Steak w/ Spinach & Chips: we asked for medium rare, some parts of the steak seemed overcooked and dry. Could've been salted more. Spinach was buttery and paired well with steak. Even though we came for a late dinner without reservation, it was pretty packed but they managed to sit us right away.

This restaurant felt overpriced for Lisbon. We walked in late and were seated upstairs right away, which was convenient. However, be aware that the cheese and salami plate they offer isn't complimentary--if you eat it, you'll be charged, and many patrons seem unaware since they don't clearly mention this. We ordered the croquettes, but they were over-fried and burnt, and I wasn't a fan of the sauce. On the bright side, the clams were really good. We both had grilled fish, which came with potatoes and a green of your choice, but the dish was bland and underwhelming. Overall, not worth the visit!

I'm a lover of Portuguese food, specially "bacalhau" (salted cod). I must say, Solar dos Presuntos gives you Portuguese food at its best. Here are the details: - Cold cuts (A+): fantastic Iberian ham, sausage, bread, and cheese - Beef Croquettes (A+): the best I've ever had! And their home-made mustard was incredible, also the best I've ever had - Pastéis de Bacalhau (B-): I've had much better - Bacalhau Assado no Forno (A+): Oven-baked salted cod. To die for! - Bacalhau à Lagareiro (A): more salted cod... prepared differently, top notch - Bacalhau Gomes de Sá (A): more salted cod... prepared differently, top notch - Entrecôte Angus Marmoreado (A): Juicy, flavorful steak - Oysters (B): Large yet unmemorable - Service (A+): Very attentive and courteous - Ambiance (A): Pleasant, spacious, and inviting For a four-person meal, we paid 200 Euros including tip (no alcohol or dessert, only water, see photographed receipt for details). We highly recommend Solar dos Presuntos!

A friend took us here while on our trip to lisbon. This was one of our fancier dinner nights. Our server Rui was very attentive, helpful, and spoke some English. He was very patient with us despite being so indecisive. Keep in mind there is a limit to your reservation time. We arrived a bit late so we needed to rush to not overextend. The breads and cheeses are very good. We had a selection of seafood appetizers recommended by Rui. My main was the pork pernil which was good but was a bit much for me after some time. After dinner, we went up to the rooftop bar for some drinks and a coffee. It was very quaint and relaxing.

Hands down my favorite seafood Portuguese restaurant in Lisbon! If you want fabulous seafood this spot is for you, plus the locals love it which says a lot. You walk in and it gives an upscale vibe, while you can dress casual it's definitely got a nice white linen table cloth and fancy wait staff vibe, better to go in a little nicer but nothing too fancy. At the entrance there is a fish tank and what's really cool is this restaurant has multiple stories. This spot gets super packed so I'd recommend coming for an early lunch. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. Service was 5/5 stars and they treat you well. We were offered suggestions and everything was cooked to perfection. You must start with a cocktail, a sangria is classic. For the food we started with the jamon and cheese plate, decent but nothing out of this world. However, when it comes to their shareable seafood tapas you must indulge yourself as these were some of the best bites I've ever had. Highly recommend their garlic shrimp appetizer as the shrimp are super buttery and full of garlic. Delicious. We kept soaking up the butter with our bread, so good. The main star was the thinly sliced octopus with olive oil. I've never had octopus that was cooked so well and so tender. The best octopus dish I've ever had to date, fantastic and memorable. You must try the shrimp and octopus when you come, you won't regret it! This restaurant delivers exceptional food with friendly yet professional service. A real treat while in PORTUGAL.

Warm atmosphere, professional service, excellent ingredients and cooking skills, enjoy the authentic seafood feast. The wine pairing in the restaurant deserves five stars.

First seafood dinner in our stay in Lisbon. The seatings are generous and the food is great. The staff helped us to pick out a local red Portuguese wine to pair with our food. That was perfect!

Underwhelming. They have whole bunch of stuff on the table to ruins your appetite from bread, cheese, and meat platter. Cheese was OK and I only liked the salami off the meat platter but noticed that they set these up for all the tables as soon as they clean off the old ones so who know how long it's been out and make you waste your $ on stuff you won't enjoy or finish. I made reservation on the night of the Portugal vs. Switzerland game and found out that there was only one TV within the whole restaurant. While fully empty they claimed that the room with the TV was reserved so my mood was pretty sour but was game was uneventful anyways with 6 to 1. We ordered wine but our server had horrible recommendations and would just grab the selections that were already opened from the room that others were drinking. On the third try, he just poured us two glasses of port wine which we didn't like at all. The server was just nonchalant and seemed to not care. The octopus dish that they're famous for was just bad especially we just ate Solar 31 that day which had the best octopus dish we've had. The texture tasted like it was more dried than cooked and tasted more like a squid. The flavor was lacking with just olive oil and red pepper flakes. At least we ended on a good note with the black rice but while the seafood was good, the risotto was a waste. The server misunderstood and packed us all of our leftovers which we did not eat. This was our last meal in Portugal and our curse of the last meal on our trips continues.

We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

Table seating was by the front and along one wall with the rest at the bar that dominated the middle of the restaurant. Menu was almost the same with a great selection of seafood ranging from tacos, ceviche appetizers to pasta, fish and shellfish entrees with many Asian flavors. The Peruvian ceviche was very nice with thin slices of fish, radish and red onions. The corn nuts added a nice crunch. It also came with a small bowl of toasted crostini chips. The cuttlefish tacos were delicious.. Big chunks of cuttlefish topped with tomatoes and placed on a small tortilla with a white sauce. We actually ordered just one but comped a pair. Sea bass was the best with its crunchy pan fried skin side topped with nori and the moist fish went perfectly with the barley and miso sauce combination. Even the bok choy was cooked well. The squid ink pasta had a mild sauce but scallops were nicely seared. At the end the owner offered us a shot of ginja to try for our first time. It was sweet but at least lower in alcohol,16%. Another great meal and service even two years later. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting some seafood here in Lisbon.

The music selection immediately gave us a taste of home, with lively R&B playing in the background. The bar wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests enjoying food, drinks, and conversation to create a warm, energetic vibe. Our drinks arrived quickly, and the staff remained attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the evening. The service was honestly the highlight of our visit. The shrimp tacos were very fresh...perhaps a little too fresh for my preference. The shrimp had not been fully deveined, so I ended up cleaning them myself before eating. As someone who only eats deveined shrimp and fish, that was disappointing. The codfish entrée was an interesting experience. The cod itself was delicious and fried to perfection with a crisp exterior and flaky interior. Unfortunately, the wasabi mashed potatoes weren't a good match for my palate and overpowered the dish for me. My partner enjoyed the vegetables that accompanied his meal, but he found the sea bass somewhat underwhelming and not particularly memorable. For two people, including food and drinks, our bill came to about €89, which I felt was a moderate price for Lisbon. While the food experience wasn't the strongest part of our visit, Peixola is still a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, listen to good music, and spend time with friends or a partner. The outstanding staff and inviting atmosphere are what would bring me back, even though the food itself left us wanting a bit more.
