Quaint little spot with worldly charm! We stopped in and were pleasantly surprised by the selection of international desserts and baked goods. The chocolate scone was perfectly soft and rich--one of the best we've had! It's also a great place to sit, relax, and watch the world walk by. A hidden gem worth the stop.

Excellent dinner, had the tortellini Alfredo special and it was delicious, wife got the veal parm and that was great too! Cannoli dessert was awesome and they give you 2 big cannolis. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately we did not have the same experience we did years ago. First, their menu needs some updating. Not one change since we were here years ago. The appetizers were good but the entrees were lacking flavor and topped with cold and hard parmesan cheese. Unfortunately we will not be back.

We booked a dinner at A Ca Mia because it was the closest to Ocean City that had available reservations on Open Table. Our party of 11 was seated right away which was nice on a crowded tourist evening. The first high chair they brought us for our one year old did not have a belt. The replacement they brought actually had something so sharp on the belt that it cut into my son in law when he was strapping in his son! The staff didn't seem to care- as if that was normal! On to the food - none of us loved what we ordered and I literally took two bites from my chicken parmesan as that was all I could handle. It was rubbery and seemed undercooked - uggh! I am sorry to say that we do not recommend.

I had a great dinner experience at A Ca Mia. The service here is very friendly quick with our appetizers coming out minutes after placing our order. I had the veal parmesan for the main course and it was cooked to the perfect temperature. For beverages, my family had a local, hard apple cider. It was very nice and my family liked it with their meals. All in all, I had a nice dinner here and I recommend this restaraunt if you are in the area!

Great veal parm. Really enjoyed this meal. Good size portion and even included a bit of asparagus on the side. Was a bit disappointed that they charge for extra bread but I can understand it. I'm not sure what the cost would have been as it didn't specify on the menu. It would be nice if they offered one free bread refill. Caesar salad was also good. Parking was difficult but that's to be expected in this prime downtown Cape May location.

Looooove A Ca Mia - sooooo decently priced and the pasta dishes are always so good! You get bread for the table and it's BYOB, so with most of their dishes under $30 and BYOB, this will make you satisfied and so will the bill. Also love sitting outside and watching all the happenings on the Washington street mall.

A beautiful location, food and atmosphere! We all agreed it was a great choice and we would all go back! The wait for a table for 5/6 on a friday night was about an hour, and there was no system to call us back to the restaurant at the end of the wait or when a table was ready so we had to watch ourselves for that time. Thankfully its in a lovely outdoor mall to make the wait a little more bearable, just don't lose track of time! It is BYOB, but thankfully there are a few shops and liquor stores nearby. We were all very happy with our entrees! The ravioli sampler was beautiful, and the shrimp scampi was some of the best I've had!

Best croissants in cape may. Sweet and savory pastry. Nice and friendly staff. Tables outside overlooking the Main Street. Bonus: they sell Bulgarian cheese, kashkaval, lukanka and lyutenica

We figured we would get in an off-season dinner before the crowds come and that we did! We arrived just before they opened at 415 and hung out at the bar for a few minutes. Dinner is served at 430pm! The bar is open, so you can get drinks while you wait if you like. There is a full service bar and you can order from a plentiful wine and spirits menu. Our awesome server for our early dinner was Trisha, and she could not have been more hospitable! She was very personable, attentive and provided excellent service! She was just a delight. I ordered the Flounder special which was delicious - - each element in the dinner was great - and you can see all my coordinating photos. The dinner comes with a nice fresh -chilled salad and of course, the yummy hot, fresh onion bread! The flounder was cooked to perfection and those Fried String Beans, kinda like french fries were really good and very creative. They came with a nice "Petal Sauce" that is going to have me coming back again! Thank you, Trisha and Lobster House for a great pre-season dinner. It's nice to have the whole restaurant to yourself without the crowds! Get there before Memorial Day weekend for a nice treat! There's also an incredible fresh fish market attached where you can get anything and everything from a fish market you ever dreamed about. They also have a decadent area with so many drool-worthy desserts that you can take out along with your seafood. All in all, Lobster House is a great local favorite that has consistently great seafood and service.

Over the years I've had my share of great getaway meals at The Lobster House in timeless Cape May…read more It's a tradition you want to start earlier in life, so you can one day look around and watch as a new generation starts creating those lifelong memories of lively dinners out on the peer. It gives you a whole new appreciation for it, for how it's been able to not only last and stay pretty much the same across decades, making the nostalgia hit just a bit harder. People who have aversion to crowds probably read that and think I'm insane, and I wouldn't blame you. I can't think of a time when that place isn't a mad house. It's frantic, there are multiple queues all over the place, people are shouting, fish is flying, tables are being sniped. There's always some parent yelling at their kid or in-law to get over to some table 100 yards away they just happened to see open up. You have half a dozen poor grandmas sitting at a table all alone, feeling the pressure. The pressure and eyes of every other family waiting for a table bearing down on them. So yes, for certain people, every visit would be a nightmarish hell. Like think about the introverted pescatarians, they must be completely torn on this place. Even with the prominent signage, it's easy to get disoriented in the market-style layout. One time I waited 15 minutes for a softshell crab sandwich in front of a parking validation kiosk. Just remember there are two sets of bathrooms, one near the entrance and one lesser used one in the back. That is one benefit of sitting farther down the pier and not feeling bad about it. There is no such thing as a bad seat at TLH. Eventually once I did locate my softshell crab sandwich, I enjoyed it's soft, crab-like texture. Well, enjoyed is a strong word. Let's just say that will be my first and definitely last time I ever order softshell crab. I like crab, but, while soft, I do not enjoy the texture of the shell. It's like these thin sheets of leather strips. It's probably my fault, it's not like it's called "no shell" crab, but I think maybe they overdo it with the "soft" angle. Anyways, once I pivoted to a classic burger, all was well again. And I got more of those bangin' thick-cut steak fries. On this particular visit my two companions got an assortment of crab claws, fried calamari, clams casino, and the rest of my softshell crab, so yeah, everyone did pretty well for themselves. Also snagged a prime table right in the thick of things, on the pier in front of The Schooner, which doubles as a sailing vessel and outdoor cocktail lounge. Just another fine summer memory to look back fondly on.

Second night, round two: I love a good turkey club but I would've willingly sold my right pinky for one this good. I nearly had to unhinge my jaw to bite into this beast. I again met my match and had to take half of it to-go. Did I have it later that night? No! I popped open that tray for a breakfast club the next morning and the flavour never missed a beat. The odyssey to finding it was well worth the effort. We had dinner reservations but on a Monday in May, probably did not need them. We both loved our flounder almondine order, despite it being a Monday night (when one does not typically order fish and expect it to be fresh). This really was! Service was top-notch and super-friendly from Jared, who was deeply apologetic when the oyster appetizer we ordered failed to appear - he comped a beer without prompting (and insisted upon it). Even absent this gesture, his attitude and manner made our evening - the excellence of the entrees was a cherry on top. One note and not the fault of the restaurant at all - a number of families with small children were dining at other tables. This is not an especially well-suited restaurant for families with under-5 kids. Their collective noise and behavior was more akin to, well, a Chuck-E-Cheese or MacDonalds. There was nothing anyone could do, of course.

Well, we had a Thanksgiving miracle. They had a table ready for us in less that ten minutes! The food and service here were both very good. I had the crab cake sandwich. It was very mild in flavor but still good. I recommend it, but I'll try some of their other offerings before I get it again. My sister-in-law had one of the specials, the Fried Tomato & Cracked Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich. She and my brother agreed that it was messy but delicious. The lobster mayo set it off nicely. I ordered the harvest salad with candied walnuts. I have no idea what candied walnuts are, so I wish the waiter asked if I had any allergies because they can SOMETIMES contain cinnamon in it and I am allergic to cinnamon. When the salad came out I started to eat the salad and noticed my throat starting to feel funny. I didn't mix the salad well so I just ate the arugula with the sauce and the chicken. Half way through I noticed there were walnuts and I took a bite of it and my throat immediately started to swell and I can feel my face and tongue getting itchy. Thank god I have my allergy medications on me, but what if the next person this happens to doesn't... We immediately told the server about my cinnamon allergy and the waiter looked at me like I was joking because I ate half of it and then asked me "So you're done with that?" and I said, "Yes I can't eat it anymore, I'm allergic to it and it's contaminated with everything else. I felt my throat starting to close up, but I am okay because I have my allergy medicine. " He asked if I wanted anything else and I said no just a hot tea to help with inflammation. I appreciate that the server was trying to help us out, but he still came back with the bill and said the owner is still going to charge me because it says candied walnuts on the menu, implying that it's my fault...I really expected this place to have better service, but looking at past reviews I can see how this place has overpriced underrated food and terrible service. They don't care about their customers and certainly just focused on making money. Hopefully after today they include that their candied walnuts have cinnamon in it!
