5/5 or10/10 Filet was worth the price, cooked perfectly medium rare. Tender, and the sauce was amazing. Ordered linguine with clams white sauce, chicken parm and veal parm also amazing. Raviolis super tasty, pasta perfectly cooked. Very attentive service. Definitely make a reservation and enjoy! A must while in Cape May! read more

This was a pleasant dining experience for a party of two. We had a late reservation so the restaurant was not overly crowded. An attentive and friendly wait staff tended to our table. I had a filet mignon that was surprisingly among the best I've had. I never expect much from shore town dining so this was a big win. I forget what my companion had (probably fish of some kind) but I do recall she really liked it. In all, I could recommend this establishment and would return. Because of it's location in the busiest section of town, you may do well to reserve a table either early or late when the wait staff and kitchen is not overly stressed. read more

This restaurant experience was overall amazing. Service was fast and all the staff were so nice. Food was amazing. Absolutely no complaints. We had the ravioli sampler and shrimp scampi. The food was amazing. Also got bruschetta for an appetizer! read more

We had a large group on a Monday night and they were very accommodating, setting up a big table inside for us all. It started out a little chilly in the room but soon warmed up once it began to fill up and was pleasant by the time we left. Parking is tough around this mall area so be prepared to pay at a lot or at the meters - and/or walk a half mile to a mile or so. Our waitress was friendly but not too much help with the menu. I had the salmon which was really good; everyone else liked what they ordered as well. They wouldn't let the kids order from the kids menu because they didn't look under 10. The menu states that the bread isn't free. It also lets you know that there's a $10 fee to split plates. I guess it's nice that they let you know. There was no corkage fee though and we brought our own beer because they are dry. They only have 1 type of wine glass but that's not a big deal; bring your own if you're that particular. read more

Great pastries and gourmet coffee. Priced very reasonably and some outdoor seating. Gourmet cheeses and meats were really good. Great place to just hang out read more

Very happy that my other dinner plans didn't work out last night and we ended up here at, A Ca Mia! Towards the end of the Cape May mall lies this little hidden gem. We made a quick reservation for 7:30 just a few hours before and had no problem with that. When we arrived we still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table inside. The inside is fairly tiny, but spacious enough. Our waiter was very nice and was handiling a lot of the tables so it took a bit for him to get us started with our meals. The menu is somewhat pricey. I did actually hear people complaining outside that their house salad was $12. Once I was able to look over the menu I saw the clam chowder was $10 which I actually thought was crazy too, but once I ordered it I understood why. It was overly filled with clams! So, so good. It was also a very light clam chowder and not overly heavy. It honestly was one of the bests I've ever had. My husband had the vegetable and he loved it too. For entrees my Dad and I went with the wild salmon. It came with a cold orzo salad and asparagus. The salmon was topped with onions and artichoke. The onions were very vinegary so that threw me a bit off guard, but was still good. Other items ordered were the spaghetti bolognese and the crab cake. Everything was honestly great and we will definitely be back. A Ca Mia is also BYO! read more

We had a reservation at 7:15. My wife and I got there 15 minutes early. We proceeded to check in at the podium and we were greeted by the rudest, crudest, arrogant, piece of of garbage. He is the restaurants number one problem. If your having a bad day, stay the hell home. We were so disgusted we left. There are so many go restaurants in Cape May, please go elsewhere. I'm going to give this establishment a negative review on an all of me social media. read more

Ate here Sunday night before Labor day and it was poor. Food was below average in taste and quantity while also being overpriced. Service was mediocre compounded by the automatic 20% tip added for parties of 4 and up. One last fun fact, they charge $4.50 for a "bread refill" at an "Italian" restaurant , so each of our party of 4 got a small dinner roll and if we wanted another it was $4.50. This place is a joke, try one of the others in the area as I would bet that the Olive Garden would provide a better meal and service experience, and I have never eaten there. read more

The food was very good. Three people three different choices. The special, a pasta dish with a creamy Parmesan with peas base, yummy. Ravioli with crab inside, squid ink so they looked black outside, cool presentation. Me - veal Parmesan with some beautiful asparagus. We shared a tiramisu for dessert. Very good . You have to make reservations early to eat here, very crowded. I would go back again. read more

A Ca Mia - Italian food, outdoor dining with my friends. Perfect. - Italian Near Me - Cape May, New Jersey

I don't think this place has anyone with a hint of Italian ancestry. Bread was not Italian but little hard rolls. Sauces were not homemade. Cheese looked like it came out of a plastic pouch. Even trying to get a water refill proved difficult. It was probably the worst meal we have had in a long time. It was busy - I would guess because it's open. No alcohol. read more

Decided to have an early dinner before leaving Cape May. We all ordered from the prefix menu. Which was a choice of an appetizer, one entree, and a dessert. I started off with a salad, which was very good. Fresh mixed greens, walnuts, oranges, and goat cheese, very light and tasty. For my entree I enjoyed the trio ravioli (crab & lobster, cheese, and mushroom) the sauce was very light, not acidy or heavy. The dessert was a chocolate mousse cake, very rich and decadent. The service was very friendly and attentive. read more

Honestly I think Cape May might be the hardest place to get a good meal out these days. So many places are suffering from lack of help they are closed on weekdays during peak season because they are so short staffed. However we were able to wrangle a table at Ca Mia on a Wednesday evening and we ate outside. We made reservations were promptly seated and the waitress took our order. The bread offered was two small dinner rolls but that's fine. I'm too fat and don't need all that bread. We ordered broccoli rabe pasta and sausage and linguine and white clam sauce. It was good. I can't say it was great but it wasn't bad. I'm used to the food we get up north Jersey near NYC where things have a bit more robust flavor. This was on the blandish side but I understand you need to appeal to a wide variety of palates and it's best to play it safe. Overall it was a pleasant meal. I would come back. It wasn't way over priced and the people weren't too intent on moving us out to get the next customers in. Thanks read more

Was disappointed, the food reminds me of a franchise restaurant, very basic, not high quality. We had the clams oreganato for appetizer, they were the best thing we had, the linguine w/clams pasta was not great, and the veal parmigiana was tasteless. read more

Service was excellent however food was very disappointing. Seemed to be meals from the frozen section of a grocery store.

Old school service and atmosphere complement the solid offerings from the kitchen at A Ca Mia. They handled our party of 8 smoothly despite an energetic child and a demanding senior. White clam sauce over homemade linguine was spot on. Appetizers and Parmesan dishes were ample, fresh and tasty. read more

We enjoyed a delicious meal and excellent service at A Ca Mia. It was prime time in a Saturday evening and many restaurants seem to struggle with staff especially at the beginning of the season. Not the case at A Ca Mia. Our reservation was honored and we were seated right away. Food came out on time and we didn't feel rushed. The shrimp scampi was the BEST I've ever had, and the Tiramisu was out of this world. Others in our party enjoyed the spaghetti bolognese, tortellini special, and limoncello parfait. read more

Really delicious Italian cuisine. Loved the view overlooking the Mall. Our waitress Florida was wonderful, very friendly and attentive. Had the bruschetta; very tasty and large portion size. I had the trio ravioli. All were delicious and I loved the sauce so much I ate it all. He had the veggie lasagna and wow. That was amazing. So flavorful. Can't wait to come back again; lots of good options for vegetarians! read more

A disappointing dining experience. Menu online was $5.00 less than Menu handed us. Portions were small for price charged and the dessert menu was also different than on line. Will not be returning! Now I know why Open Table had so many times available and other nearby restaurants booked. read more

I had the lasagna Bolognese. Salmon was outstanding. Ravioli sampler was delicious. Broccoli rabe with sausage was just good. Shrimp scampi was delicious. They have outdoor seating and a bakery attached but we didn't go there. It's BYOB but you can buy a bottle of Turis from them. The Rose (Rosato) was very good. I gave them 4 stars not 5 because the service could be better. read more

Good food. Great service. Reasonable prices. Had lasagna and chicken parmesan. Both very good large portions with enough to take home. Always a nice experience. Deserts a also good. read more

Nothing tasted remotely Italian. How about putting garlic and basil on the bruschetta? My penne with sausage and broccoli rabe tasted nothing like it should have. It felt as if they had pics of what the dishes should have looked but no recipe to actually cook it. Oh...and it is super expensive for what quality you are getting. So, if you like paying too much for Italian food that tastes nothing like Italian food, this is the place for you. read more

Upscale italian atmosphere but the food leaves you wanting. Antipasto platter was very good but the entrees were unseasoned, dry and one was half cold. The waiter was efficient but had the personality of a smacked ass. Spending your money here risk factor is a 6 out of 10. read more

I had dinner here a few times about 5-6 years ago and everything about it was a pleasant experience. However, every year when I visit Cape May, I always visit the bakery about 3 times. Everything is absolutely phenomenal! Cookies, cupcakes, sweet breads, scones are all delicious and fresh. You cannot go wrong. The best bakery in Cape May hands down. I know that they're known for the restaurant, but the bakery is also a shining star! read more

This is the most wonderful place. The food is divine, the service is friendly and attentive. My family has gone back to Cape May for eight years in a row now, and we never miss this place. My favorites are the grilled mushroom appetizer and the homemade lasagna which will blow away your opinion of all other lasagnas, guaranteed. They don't have a "liquor" licence. NJ law allows them to serve wine by the bottle, but if you don't want to do that, they'll pour for you anything that you bring yourself, so feel free to do so. They have an espresso machine and I'd recommend topping the evening off with their lovely desert list and a nice cappuccino. :) The restaurant is also connected to a great bakery, both of which are owned by the same people. You'll eat for two-thirds of what you'd pay in the DC Metropolitan area or any other major populous. Also, try their very reasonably priced lunches! read more

Good was good. I like inside better; first room is quieter. Service was very good. Fresh parmigiana brought to every table. BYOB! Suggest chicken Parm! Bathroom toilet disgusting!!! Unforgivable when they have such good food. read more

Never got to order our meals. The noise level was so unacceptable that we asked to change tables. We were offered no alternatives and had no choice but to leave. We explained what happened to 2 different people and we're basically ignored. We thought they should at least know we were leaving as we had made reservations days in advance. At least 2 tables by us were also visibility disturbed but had their meals already. Additionally, l have never paid extra for additional bread, really? To add 20 percent to your bill with 4 guests is upsetting. Incentive for good performance is eliminated when you're garenteed the automatic tip weather you've earned it on not. Reading your reviews l see I'm not the only person unhappy with these policies. read more

Not the best Italian place I've eaten at. Got a chicken parm and it came with very little sauce , I asked for more sauce and they told me it was an up charge. Every little thing at this place is upcharged. I don't feel that this is a genuine Italian restaurant. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Came for a date night. Sat outside which was lovely for people watching and enjoying the weather. Ordered the ravioli sampler which had 2 cheese, 2 mushroom and 1 seafood. Bread came out and before I finished buttering my roll the entrees came out. Raviolis didn't seem freshly made and swam in sauce. Meal lasted 15 minutes so if you are on a bad date at least you'll get out of there quickly. Not bad overall but felt rushed with the super quick meals. Server was very pleasant. read more

We went to A Ca Mia for dinner. We ate outside at then edge of the mall a d it was lovely. Nice atmosphere. Quiet and special. I would not have wanted to be inside - it seemed noisy and crowded. The outside atmosphere is what separated my review from a 3 to a 4. We had bruschetta appetizer which honestly was just average. The service was impeccable. It truly was a European type ambiance. We each had salads - the insalata with cheese mandarin orange and walnut. It had a refreshing subtly flavored champagne type dressing. Very fresh and nice. The other salad was arugula and Parmesan and was also really enjoyed. I had the clam chowder which was very good - not too heavy and delicious. The other food was the special of tortellini with prosciutto- thoroughly enjoyed. We did not have dessert read more

Pleasantly surprised by this centrally located Italian restaurant. Attentive service. Bruschetta was remarkable with perfect tomato, fresh basil, and a nice garlicky kick. Clams Oreganata were tasty but needed more moisture. Shrimp scampi, linguini with white clam, and mussels were all tasty and well prepared. Definitely underrated on Yelp. We line in north Jersey so we know our Italian food well. read more

We made the mistake of not making a reservation tonight and this was the only restaurant with open tables - that was a sign. Our server grunted his way through taking our order. Lasagna bolognese was just ok. Chicken parm was flavorless. Not one staff member checked on us once. Do better. read more

After a long travel day, my family and I decided to eat here. Big big big mistake. First day of a 4 day vacation and I got the worst food poisoning I've ever had in my life. I was bed ridden after throwing up 10 times. I had ordered the special. It was some kind of tortellini in a white sauce with prosciutto. The sauce was too thick and dry but I think the prosciutto being abnormally dry and chewy was probably what got me sick. And before anyone says, no I didn't eat anything else that day that would have caused my stomach to become THIS upset. I spiked a fever, had body aches, I mean it was really awful and took away from my vacation time. Don't go to this mediocre restaurant, save your money and go somewhere else. read more

CapeMay 2020. They are doing their best but it's a bit sad. Some places just couldn't adapt to the rules and closed for the year. Not sure why inside seating is banned if social distancing is practiced. It makes it a tough time to enjoy the fare. That said we were able to secure a date night reservation at A-CA-MIA on the Washington Street mall. We were early and were surprisingly accommodated, al be it right at the entrance. No worries! Our server was prompt, friendly and cheerfully popped our BYOB of Merlot. The portobello appetizer was set upon a perfect polenta perch topped with goat cheese and surrounded by seasoned greens and bruschetta. Excellent! A generous bowl-for-two of clam chowder followed. It missed the potatoes that are usually part of authentic New English chowder, but had a bit of cheese in the broth. The warm rolls were a perfect paring. My wife had a tortellini special that was served in a creamy alfredo sauce. Panchetta and peas accented the house made pasta stuffed with cheese. I opted for the Lasagne Bolognese. Layers of meat cheese and noodles. It was too much to finish either entree. We skipped dessert but with a patisserie attached to the restaurant I can only imagine what the offering was. No bar, and BYOB kept the tab well below expectations. I am sure experiences are skewed due to the pandemic but we were more than pleased with the dinner at A-CA-MIA. read more

I've never had a bad meal at A Ca Mia. For the first time my boyfriend and I visited A Ca Mia during the summer. Not only was it summer, it was Labor Day weekend! We were afraid about waiting even with our reservation but it was only about 5 extra minutes for a table. The front patio is tight but cozy in the summer. I was very surprised at the fast service even on this extremely busy holiday weekend. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for our appetizers and our entrees came out shortly after that. It was a pleasant wait for chit chat and we weren't starving after the generously portioned bruschetta. The food is always delicious, I've never had one issue. There's a bakery next door that serves the coffees and desserts in house, but they have even more options if you're looking to take something home. Can't wait to come back as always! read more

There are so many better places to eat in the Cape May and Wildwood area especially Italian-wise. This place is popular due to its location but the food and service are not that good. The menu is small and basic as well. Fair warning: no French fries for little kids who are picky eaters!! I had a Caesar salad and chicken parm. The Caesar was pretty good but not a wow. The chicken parm is heavily breaded, has very little of the chunky tomato sauce (horrible for people who hat the texture but like the taste of tomatoes, like me), and very little of the cheese as well. No one else in my party was that pleased either and we agreed that we would not return. read more

Located on the Washington Street mall, which is lined with restaurants, on the north end sits A Ca Mia. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with a menu offering Northern Italy dishes. The lasagna is simply delicious, I have dined at A Ca Mia, many times but sadly have only had the lasagna as it is so good. It's it served with a blush sauce, and made with veal and ground beef. Service here is good, the only thing holding me back from a full five star review is the host. He could simply be a bit more human, he doesn't welcome or greet you to the restaurant he just asks how many. I believe he is also the manager, the staff follow behind him, offer good service but not a welcoming attitude. read more
