Shrimp scampi

Went with a larger group and everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant has a classic Italian feel inside, and service was good. It was quiet with no other diners inside during our visit.

Quaint little spot with worldly charm! We stopped in and were pleasantly surprised by the selection of international desserts and baked goods. The chocolate scone was perfectly soft and rich--one of the best we've had! It's also a great place to sit, relax, and watch the world walk by. A hidden gem worth the stop.

Excellent dinner, had the tortellini Alfredo special and it was delicious, wife got the veal parm and that was great too! Cannoli dessert was awesome and they give you 2 big cannolis. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately we did not have the same experience we did years ago. First, their menu needs some updating. Not one change since we were here years ago. The appetizers were good but the entrees were lacking flavor and topped with cold and hard parmesan cheese. Unfortunately we will not be back.

I had a great dinner experience at A Ca Mia. The service here is very friendly quick with our appetizers coming out minutes after placing our order. I had the veal parmesan for the main course and it was cooked to the perfect temperature. For beverages, my family had a local, hard apple cider. It was very nice and my family liked it with their meals. All in all, I had a nice dinner here and I recommend this restaraunt if you are in the area!

We booked a dinner at A Ca Mia because it was the closest to Ocean City that had available reservations on Open Table. Our party of 11 was seated right away which was nice on a crowded tourist evening. The first high chair they brought us for our one year old did not have a belt. The replacement they brought actually had something so sharp on the belt that it cut into my son in law when he was strapping in his son! The staff didn't seem to care- as if that was normal! On to the food - none of us loved what we ordered and I literally took two bites from my chicken parmesan as that was all I could handle. It was rubbery and seemed undercooked - uggh! I am sorry to say that we do not recommend.

A beautiful location, food and atmosphere! We all agreed it was a great choice and we would all go back! The wait for a table for 5/6 on a friday night was about an hour, and there was no system to call us back to the restaurant at the end of the wait or when a table was ready so we had to watch ourselves for that time. Thankfully its in a lovely outdoor mall to make the wait a little more bearable, just don't lose track of time! It is BYOB, but thankfully there are a few shops and liquor stores nearby. We were all very happy with our entrees! The ravioli sampler was beautiful, and the shrimp scampi was some of the best I've had!

Great veal parm. Really enjoyed this meal. Good size portion and even included a bit of asparagus on the side. Was a bit disappointed that they charge for extra bread but I can understand it. I'm not sure what the cost would have been as it didn't specify on the menu. It would be nice if they offered one free bread refill. Caesar salad was also good. Parking was difficult but that's to be expected in this prime downtown Cape May location.

Clam linguine - SO GOOD

Looooove A Ca Mia - sooooo decently priced and the pasta dishes are always so good! You get bread for the table and it's BYOB, so with most of their dishes under $30 and BYOB, this will make you satisfied and so will the bill. Also love sitting outside and watching all the happenings on the Washington street mall.

Great Italian food. Vegetable lasagna and mussels both very good. Bread was a little dry and stale. Sit outside and enjoy the views.

Good food at the end of the mall it's a bit tight and they don't allow strollers, but the food is good and the atmosphere is fun.

I was visiting from out of town and brought here by a friend (who actually used to work here as a…read morehostess) as part of a big group. The venue is super cool, in terms of is grandeur and history, and different dining areas between the various outdoor spaces, bar, and dining room. We visited in October when it was decorated for Halloween, which was a nice added touch. For such a HUGE restaurant churning out tons of food, I was really impressed by the quality of the food. I ordered the scallops as my entree and they really were stellar. No notes. Absolutely delicious. We also shared a bunch of sides and apps, and all were pretty good (though outshone by the scallops). I will note that the prices were quite high, though, so be aware of that going in and don't get sticker shock. Where things were lacking mostly came down to service. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait a bit and ended up seated right by the kitchen. It took our server a long time to take our orders, and he didn't write anything down for our big group of ten and ended up forgetting multiple peoples' drinks, leaving them waiting for a while. It was a struggle to get water refills and just took a really long time to get anything. But, it was a busy Saturday night in a--as mentioned--really large restaurant. Even with these complaints, the food was so good that I would go back.

Tucked in one of Cape May's leading landmarks, the renovated 1879 Congress Hall Hotel, we decided on dinner at the Blue Pig Tavern, which derives from a gambling parlor in the mid-1800s. A reservation was easily made via Open Table. Upon arrival as first timers, my partner and I were greeted at the host station and got our cozy table in a large glassed-in patio area. The restaurant was lively and welcoming. It was clearly a family-friendly spot, which showed in the higher noise level and the number of tables filled with multigenerational groups. Their menu is New American, from filet mignon and shrimp cocktail to legendary burgers, including the Beach Plum Farm Burger. They get a lot of its produce from its own nearby farm. As an appetizer, we decided on the Crispy Calamari and Baked Mac and Cheese. Our entree consisted of Rigatoni Bolognese and Chicken Pot Pie. Complimentary warm bread sprinkled with salt and chives accompanied by soft honey butter started our meal. Every dish hit the mark: flavorful, fresh, and well-executed. The portions were generous. Despite being very busy, the service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and especially helpful; our server was Eugene. Overall, this establishment delivered a memorable dining experience.

The atmosphere is charming and cozy. But the real reason to come here is the food. The husband and wife who do the cooking do an extraordinary job with seafood. Last night I had a seafood dish that included lobster, crab, scallops, and shrimp. Each piece of fish was cooked to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth, and the sauce was wonderful. It's no easy feat to cook fish so perfectly, and to do each type perfectly in a combined dish is outstanding. The seafood bisque is delicious and the homemade desserts are also quite excellent. We have eaten indoors and outdoors at this café and highly recommend it.

I'm conflicted on this one, Freda's was definitely an odd duck. Coming into it, I loved the decor…read moreincluding the stained glass windows. We were seated immediately by our server Flossy who also had very good recommendations on what to order. I followed those recommendations and got the Crab Cakes and the Key Lime Pie Cheesecake. My friend ordered the Seafood Pesto. I loved the Crab Cakes, it went well with the mango sauce and it was a very lump meat crab cake. Might be one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. The key lime cheesecake was very fluffy, airy, with the perfect balance of sweet and citrus. The seafood pesto was just OK in my opinion. I did like the food for the most part. However, the portions are a little on the small side. If it weren't for dessert and Flossy giving me a second dinner roll (another point for service!) I think I would've left still hungry. To be fair, I am considered a big eater and I came in starving. There were a few other questionable choices that prevent me from fully recommending this place. Some may consider the dining room cozy, I found it cramped, especially as it started to fill up with other customers. So this place is likely not going to work with a big party even if it's half full. We were a little surprised when trying to find the restroom too. We were handed a key, and had to go outside and in their back alley on a little treasure hunt to find a door labeled "Locked door". When ordering dessert, I was surprised the dessert menu did not list any prices even though their main menu did. Kind of obnoxious and pretentious if you ask me, but Flossy mentioned they were all $18 and big enough to share. That brings me one other point: pricing. I loved the food, but felt each menu item was twice the price that was appropriate for the portion. All in all, Freda's cafe has good food and great service. But it's held back by portion sizes, pricing, and a few other weird issues.

After a stroll to the Washington Street Mall I was on my way back to the motel (The Jetty) and noticed this place was open. It was clean looking from the outside so I decided to give it a try. I was immediately welcomed as I walked in, nice. Looked around to see how the seating arrangements were and notice they had counter seating. Neil like sitting at the counter. A pleasant lady came over and handed me a menu asked what I wanted to drink...orange juice. And the juice came with a glass of water, I needed that and didn't know it. After looking the menu over I chose the western omelette with home fries and rye toast. I must have been one of the first customers of the day cause it wasn't long before I was eating. All I needed was some hot sauce for the home fries and their it was. The portions were generous and toast came out warm just the way I likes it. Cutting into the omelet it was filled, nothing scarce here. I would suggest to get here early, it wasn't long before there was a wait. Not sure if I finished it all but I needed to walk the WS Mall again and work it off. Yes this will be my go to place for breakfast next time in town. Peace.
