I'm definitely recommending this location to my friends who are looking for storage options. Antonio is fabulous. He has a customer-first mindset and worked with me to make sure that I could get the right space at the time I needed it. While it's not air conditioned, the facility has good air circulation and stays fairly cool in the summer. I've been with this storage facility for few years now, so far it's been great in terms of security, ease of access and service. I've started with one unit and when temporary needed another one, they found me one which is close to my first which was super convenient. Price is fair for the bay area and has increased just slightly over the time I had it for, but always ask about rate increase plans before to avoid surprises, mine was expected so - no complains. Beware of rent increases every 6-12 months. Generally, it's a fine facility. The managers are very nice and friendly. The location is convenient. The carts to help with bringing your stuff are helpful. The no lights in the unit is tolerable with a flashlight. When I asked pricing, I was handed a brochure and received no come-on with talk of free months, locking in discounted rates, an offer of a free truck, or anything else to entice me to store here rather than any of the other local storage spaces--among which there are many, and many new ones, to choose. This is a gigantic space and I think if you go in a little aggressive the staff may wake up from their hibernation and have some good deals to offer, but I just took the brochure and drove around the corner to Extra Space, where I got an enthusiastic, professional, personable greeting. Easy access from the freeway, old county road and El Camino. Facility is clean, cool in temperature and they have music throughout the facility. The drawback is price. They nickel and dime you. $10 admin fee to open your account, they charge you an extra $10/month unless you can prove you have home owners insurance that covers external storage and they raise their fees every 6 months. They also make you buy their "special" lock--which is the ONLY one they allow you to use--which is a key lock. The 1st free month is typically not valid on the unit you want. After all of the mandatory add on fees your $71 unit is $101 for a 5x5. IE: on pricing which varies on supply and demand, 5x5 began at $71+10=$81/month. On the 6th month it was promptly raised to $91 read more

I was with A-1 for 4 years, the place is immaculate, safe, units are easily accessible, and staff is readily available to assist in anyway that they can. I recently ended my contract with them bc it was time for me to do some spring cleaning and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Jp! I literally had the worst day ever and walked into his office, took my whole day and week out on him for no reason, and rather than argue with me, or shut the door on me, he went out of his way to call me when I left to make arrangements to assist me in the issue I was having! Then when I blew him off a day later bc I forgot, he followed up with me until I responded, I finally came in, he quickly assisted me in my last order or business before officially vacating the unit and I was on my way! As usual, JP and Tim were extremely helpful in processing the paperwork for obtaining another unit within a few minutes. Although I have rented a storage space from other facilities in the past, what sets this team apart is the fact that they provided one on one assistance, answered all necessary questions, provided very helpful suggestions, and did not rush me through the process. I really felt comfortable in the decision I was making and selecting the appropriate storage size for my family's needs. This was the first storage facility I've rented in the bay area after receiving a recommendation from a friend. Upon arrival, I noticed how clean the place was and the manager was extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous. When we visited the storage unit for initial inspection, he noticed that some of the lights above and around the unit were a bit dim or were out, and he offered to replace them the very next day so that I could see into my unit better. I am certain this was a place I would always keep my stuff here as necessary once I haven't my my initial interaction when renting the unit. Nice place! read more

My parents and I were looking for a storage space nearby while the house was going through some huge renovations. After looking around, this place was one that best works for us and booked a 10' x 15' space for about a year and a half. Throughout this renovation, the people working at this storage facility have been really nice and the building itself is always clean, secured, and accessible whenever I needed something from the storage. When we were moving back to our recently newly renovated house, my dad asked for an extension so that we have more time to move the stuff out. The staff said of course and we payed for only a half month's rent for the extension. We managed to get everything out before the new month came and they were nice enough to refund the extension! Now that's some good customer service. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for some space to store their stuff. I'm sure that if we needed to store our stuff again, we would come back to this place gain. read more

These folks are great, JP and Antonio are fan-fricken-tastic. I was in that unit for approx. 6 months and never had any issues with their customer service, and honestly, these two consistently went out of their way at any time to make sure my needs were taken care of. Total gems. At the time of my 'stay' with A1, I was recovering from a shattered ankle, and although it is by far not in their scope of work, they would consistently offer to help me move and lift things. My husband and I have been renting from A-1 for the past several years. We have had a variety of units in different sizes on this multi-story facility in Belmont and have received excellent customer service from JP and Antonio. The facility is immaculate and they take a great deal of personal pride in keeping it clean and well run. It is climate controlled, secure and well lit. The prices do increase a little each year, but I am giving the company five stars based on the service we have received. The office smells great and the experience of renting is pleasant. There is a nice assortment of supplies in the office, a restroom and carts to make loading/unloading easier. Keep up the great job, and thanks for offering this great alternative to standard outdoor drive up storage facilities with dead mice in them-so gross!! read more

I felt like I was leaving my stuff at a (reliable and trustworthy!) friend's place. Safe, secure and clean (which, believe me and my research) is not the case at many storage facilities, I am happy to review A1 and if you're searching around, your search is now over. Had used their facility for 3 months as we left the Bay Area and then returned. We took a 5x5 unit. First thing I noticed was that it was really really clean. As the first month was free, I got a really good deal with the price as well. The entire process of signing and acquiring the unit was hassle free and took all of 30 minutes from the time we parked our car and the time we placed our first box inside. They also offered us insurance at a very good price. 3 months later, when we opened the unit and started taking our boxes out, NOT a speck of dust or any other damage whatsoever. First off, the staff is awesome. They really went out of their way to make sure I got the best deal when I moved in. I'm moving out soon and they took me off of autopay and pro rated my rent. Always very friendly and willing to help out. Secondly its very clean all around the bathrooms pretty nice and it's a very secure building. They use automatic lighting and even though there is no light bulb inside of a unit there is plenty of hallway light to illuminate. The rent is about what you pay everywhere else.
