You can easily speak with someone on the team for help with questions and they are all wonderful and easy to talk to. I loved having a storage space there and had total peace of mind. When I moved out I found the moisture absorbing pouches that I put in my items in case of any moisture getting in there, and they were totally dry, even with all the rain we have had. The buildings are well cared for and maintained. You don't have to wait on hold to speak with a human or be routed to some corporate call center if you ever have a question. Based on being in the middle of a career shift and the cost of housing in the Bay Area, this was the smartest option available. Joanne, the main office person, is a complete gem and pleasure to work with. Even when she scolded me for going over the 5 mph speed limit within the facility, she said it in a gentle and motherly way. The security system is a combination of cameras, door sensors, alarms, gates/codes, and German Shepards ( a lot of them, I might add)! I don't ever see any suspicious looking characters hanging around (except me), which I have seen at other storage businesses similar to this. It's refreshing and to me means they keep a tight ship around there! I feel like my belongings and oh-so-sacred materials that I can't seem to detach from are safe and sound. I would highly recommend this storage facility to anyone that is shopping around! They are the best I know of in the area. I stored some things here about 25 years ago, and I went back to them to store furniture and household items while we're remodeling our house. Vanessa is great -- really positive, professional in getting the paperwork together, and overall welcoming to the storage complex. Juan will show you your unit before you lease it, and it's fun to ride in his golf cart (in the back, COVID-compliant). He's around to help you deal with any questions, issues with elevators, etc. This is a convenient location, a fair price (no smoke and mirrors), and the storage units are clean. Their code-in, code-out procedures are easy but give a sense of security. I recommend M-A Storage for sure! read more

We've used them for years, for short-term leases (about 6 weeks at a time) and I've never had a problem. We rented space from MAS two years in a row while my son attended college in the area. The first year, we rented a storage unit, as well as a spot to store a vehicle for the summer break. The office staff was stellar from the very first phone call. They made sure that any snags in the rental requirements were ironed out for us, which was very much appreciated, as I was making arrangements from across the country. While away, my son's friends needed to gain access to the storage unit and/or car, and the office staff made the necessary arrangements without any hesitation. When he returned, everything was in perfect order. When we needed to store items again this year, we went directly to MAS. The registration process went very smoothly, as they were able to access all of our information from the prior rental. As others have said, the office staff is very friendly, very helpful and actually a joy to talk to on the phone. The property is very clean and tightly secured with automatic gates. They are clearly very proud of the quality of service they provide and the property itself. Nothing I've seen before or since with storage unit personnel. They require advance notice for access with larger trucks or movers (which is sometimes hard to manage w/ long-distance moves). In our case they made it very difficult for our 53-foot trailer to even gain access. Seems like the facility is ideal for smaller storage users. The place is very secure and I'll bet nothing leaves that isn't supposed to! I'd give them a chance again for smaller storage needs (things I could get in and out with my car or truck) but I'd look elsewhere if the scenario involved large trucks or professional movers. read more

The owner and CS rep kept interrupting during the initial phone conversation. They would not allow us to reserve without being onsite, but claimed the unit was about to go. I was 54 miles away. I don't think they wanted to rent to us, as whatever I offered, pay upfront, sign and scan back paperwork, they refused. I am a family home manager for a very wealthy family in Silicon Valley. (?) When I first started shopping around, I called many places and every place I called had pushy salesmen who wouldn't give me rates outright and were insisting on getting my phone number and email to follow up. I did not want to give out that information just for people to bother me! I found Menlo-Atherton and immediately discovered that not only did they have the best rates around, it's a family owned business. They are the nicest people and the security on this place is great. It was what happened the other day that prompted me to write this review. I referred a co-worker to Menlo-Atherton storage. Yesterday I received a very personal, handwritten thank you card from the owner thanking me for the referral. How great is that? There are still businesses out there who care about their customers so much and are willing to do things like that.
