The place started ok but soon showed how bad it's managed. Our assigned spot was supposed to be for our individual use, but for months we weren't able to use it because there was always some other vehicle in there. When we called they told us "just park somewhere else". This is when I should have realized how bad the administration was, but unfortunately I didn't. At some point, months later they called me saying that I was parked in the wrong place. I thought maybe they had fixed the situation, but when I went and checked, my assigned spot was still used by someone else. I wasted all morning there. Finally, recently I discovered my vehicle was damaged by my neighbor. No note was left or anything, a hit and run, but with the peculiarity that it happened within the private premises of StorQuest, with cameras and so on. StorQuest answers were all about covering themselves, and how they were not going to do anything about it. "Use your insurance". read more

I recently had to spend over $2500 to retrieve my vehicle from a towing facility because StorQuest failed to keep track of whose vehicle was whose. Day after day, I called and they said they'd fix it. I was told repeatedly that I'd get a call back with more details. I never got a call back and they never got my vehicle back from the towing facility. Eventually, as storage charges continued to rack up at the towing facility and StorQuest continued doing nothing, I bailed out my vehicle at significant expense. I will no longer be doing business with StorQuest, and recommend you don't do business with them either. read more

Seaport Storage is a fantastic facility. The place is VERY clean. 24-hour security with video cameras covering every inch and floor. I found Seaport on Yelp and I'm glad I did. I didn't have any problems with billing because I payed my bill in-person every month. I've had a great experience working with the staff. When I moved in they allowed me to use the moving truck and provided carts to help get the items off the truck and up to the unit. The elevator was clean, nice, and most importantly fast. Justin, the manager was phenomenal in helping me with all the specifics of moving in. He is truly a caring professional that is really patient & understanding to any changes that may arise when moving an apartment into a storage unit. I don't have a storage space here but my friend does and when I came to help her clean it out I was really impressed by how clean, well-lit, and secure the entire center is. It's definitely a great space for any person to consider storing their extra stuff without worry. If it weren't for the fact that I've already given away/sold most of my extraneous things, I would definitely consider getting a unit here. The RV storage provides no security, monitoring, or protection. Their RV storage section has very narrow driveways and parking spots, and if someone sideswipes you and drives on they take no responsibility and will not have any video. They will also not let you put out cones to protect your vehicle. My insurance ended up paying more than ten thousand dollars to repair my RV after a hit and run at their facility. They will say the gate codes provide security, but there is nothing preventing multiple vehicles from going through on the same code, and they would take no responsibility for that either. Your vehicle is safer parked on the street. Two stars because their office staff is nice ... they just can't do anything to help read more

I've stored my belongings here since 2009. The facility is fully secure, as every square inch of both the inside and outside areas are under 24-hour video surveillance. In addition to a 4-digit code, your fingerprint needs to be entered on a keypad before you can access the storage lockers. The entire compound is surrounded by an iron gate, and the parking gate also has a security code which needs to be input when entering and exiting. This precludes unauthorized vehicular entry after-hours. A fully secure property is mandatory when looking for a storage facility, but it's only half the equation. Justin, the Manager, has provided me with vastly superior customer service for the past 9 years. The owners of this business are EXTREMELY LUCKY to have Justin running their operation. I was a client at Storquest, previously Seaport Storage, for over 10 years. We had great service and a friendly manager. That is until Storquest took over the location in April 2020. The old manager left. At that time, in the height of the Covid epidemic, they wrote to increase rents by 11%. I called them. The lady assured me that it was a form letter and I should ignore it. No increases till 2022. In July we get the same letter confirming a 11% increase. I call and advise their comment in April. We agree a compromise rate till April 2021. In September 2020 I receive a contract, digitally signed by me apparently, which they had signed on my behalf. I had never signed the contract digitally or otherwise. They used my name to sign a contract with themselves. So I sought other storage locations and found one in Redwood City that was 40%!!!! and offered great service. To add insult to injury, we moved out 16th Sept where our month to month ended on Oct 21. To our dismay, we received an invoice for the 4 days from 17 -21 Oct although we have paid a full month in advance as required by contract. The management of this company has no morals, no ethics and sadly the staff at the location seem only willing to carry out the company's deceptive policies. AVOID THIS LOCATION or you'll be paying much more than necessary for poor service. read more

Right now isn't the time to gouge people any more than they've already been with the high cost of everything. Recent issues with the gate during access hours have been ridiculous. We have been trying to get our boat out of the outdoor storage area DURING access hours and the gate doesn't open. Missed a few important trips (to my husband of course) because we can't get it out of the facility. Code works, paid monthly fee, it's 8pm and access ends at 9pm... and when you call the support number. They try to get ahold of the manager. NOTHING. Not able to reach them. They basically tell you. Sorry. Nothing they can do. We attempted to get it at 6am when access opens again. Still the same situation. We call the 24/7 support number. Wait for a manager. Nothing. I mean what's the point of have access hours if it doesn't work. They are practically keeping your property hostage. Really a headache! read more

Seaport Storage is dishonest and does not honor their online advertising. I went to their website and saw a $1 move-in special (which is still there today!) and reserved a unit in late November. When I arrived the employee working Nikko stated that they no longer have the special and I would have to pay full price despite me making an online reservation with the deal. When I asked why, he said the owner said no more specials. I asked to speak with a manager but he said no one was available until Tuesday despite me need the unit on Saturday. I asked if we could call or email the manager, and he said that's not possible as the manager can only email him and he not allowed to initiate an email or call?! When I pressed further Nikko then told me he did not want to do business with me and asked me to leave?! While I rented from Seaport a few years ago, things have obviously changed and I would pick another place that is honest and transparent. I ended up leasing from Extra Space storage using their online booking, they honored the deal when I arrived, had me sign a couple electronic forms and I was on my way. How business should be done. Insult to injury, Seaport charged my credit card $10 to hold the space and has refused to refund my money. I'm now having to file a claim with my credit card company. read more

I don't typically write reviews, but this can't go unsaid. We have rented storage space for several years with Seaport Storage and never had a problem, but StorQuest has been more work than it's worth. We were given less than a week's notice to move our entire unit because they wanted to suddenly install a light-up sign. Our unit, among others, was told to be moved. They didn't offer any assistance or further explanation. The manager, Michael St. Clair, was rude and refused to speak to us on the phone, saying he wouldn't talk on speaker and that it was his right. Upon showing up, management didn't even have a plan, offering us another unit... for double the price. They insisted that rate was "normal." We had to insist and prove our actual rate. My family spent our entire Sunday moving the unit on our own, with management cancelling out another members' unit to open up a space for us on a different floor. We saw others in the same situation. They also commented on how full our space was - are we only supposed to use half? Of course, if it wasn't so last minute we would have taken everything elsewhere. The point of storage is to keep it there. It was extremely disappointing given our traditionally great experience with Seaport. For anybody looking, I'd recommend looking elsewhere to avoid the likely many issues ahead as new management decides to prioritize basic marketing over customers themselves. read more

Seaport storage is a very nice facility. Easy to access, clean and nice. My problem is with their pricing tactics- I feel like I got scammed. If you are very careful about your finances you may be safe from their practices, but I set up autopay on my storage unit assuming everything would be taken care of. The review before me says they are nice enough to give you a call when you are late on payments- they are not nice enough to give you a call when they decide to increase your storage rent by 53% per month (and ~30% greater than current listed price). Instead there was a notice sent via US Postal. They were within the bounds of their contract, but not an example of customer service. Had the rent increase been less dramatic, I had received a call, or had it been in-line with current pricing in the rest of the storage center, I would not have a problem with it. I'm guessing the autopay combined with the fact that I did not access the storage unit for about a year made me a perfect candidate for this maneuver. read more

Finally, you can concentrate on the moving rather than the grimace of the face serving you up the space or the rental truck. Seaport Storage distinguishes itself with amenities (newer facility) and their positive attitude. Heck, even the bathroom stays clean. I've rented for a year and have also run some deliveries for the Reclaim home store from a unit there. Anytime I'm there Justin and Thomas are thinking on their feet. The team at Seaport proactively thinks about serving customers better. They also seriously consider the requests you might make and reflect a 'can-do' spirit that simply shocks people who have dealt with the self-storage industry regularly. With wifi, stocked mini-fridge, hot tea bags, toxic product recycling collection, and Fedex center mean this place can truly feel like a home away from home. Or at least your refuge from Hwy 101 traffic. Their living room has comfy seating and the conference room is adequate for a few hours of work if need be. Even a conferencing phone to use, but the last time I was there it seemed unplug. Don't worry, no need to be shy here. Ask, and you may very well receive. While there, stretch your legs by taking a walk out the nearby path along the water toward the marinas. In my opinion, this is also the smoothest inline skate path in the area. 360 views here across the salt flats toward East Bay hills. The sunset looking toward the mountains and SF may become the respite you need before getting that delivery on down the highway. read more

After checking around the area to compare price and services, it was an easy decision to go with Seaport Storage. I've been very happy for nearly a year using a med-sized temperature-controlled unit. Clean facility with easy assess just off Rt 101. For my use, the storage unit's lighting could be better, but it is sufficient for most needs. read more

I will vouch for the other reviewers who said this company will not stop charging your card after you move out. I called two weeks before my move out. A woman told me that it would be cancelled at the end of the month. I wrote an email saying to cancel, never received a response. Called several times during the last week just to get a seemingly made up response as to why they couldn't cancel. First the guy wasn't authorized, then he was but had to wait for the manager, then he tried to tell me that I never gave notice. The manager who had to talk to me before he could cancel was never there. He was "in the yard" "on lunch" or "at a meeting". Just so happens that it was just when I called. And he could never call me back, of course These guys had a personal negative thing against me from the start because of me being gay. I had a really rude experience checking in. I think they are just a fraudulent company overall. The only way they can make money is by tricking people. I had to cancel my card to get them to stop. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Update 5/10. Keven just called to leave me a message. Apparently I am a liar and he will pray for me. Yikes, talk about terrible customer service. I will keep the message in case my last bill charge goes to collections though. He said in the message that he has no record of me cancelling my credit card. I don't know what that even means? How would you? I was sent a text with a link to a bill on the Seaport website that told me I had to pay for the next month and that I was late. Then I tried to call numerous times to be blown off with excuses that did not add up. So in response I called my bank and had them cancel and reissue my Debit card which is what I used with this company. I have evidence of that. I don't know how you would unless you tried to charge me. I'm just laughing at this point. I'm not religious, and I'm not into condescending calls from businesses I don't want to deal with any more. I called back and again explained I could barely understand him sounded far away like on speaker. . His response was so rude. "I just spoke to ten customers no problem" How does that resolve I can barely hear him. His further comments didnt help. I can't believe I haven't written a review before. I actually haven't been to the storage space we have here in a while -- my family members usually go instead. This past week, though, I went with my sweetie so we could drop off a big chair in our storage space. Wow! I forgot how much I love it! I forgot how clean and tidy it is, how well lit, how well laid out. Even the bathroom I used was spotless and tidy! It was a unisex bathroom, which usually means Men Behaving Badly and general uncleanliness -- but nooooo, this bathroom was immaculate and fresh and well stocked. So, then we took the big chair up to the space, and the elevator was clean, the hallways were clean, the lights went on the way they should, and in general, the whole thing was a delight. Yes, I just said that visiting our storage space at night was "a delight." That good. Now, I'll be honest, I'd give them five stars, but as others have said, our rent has gone up considerably in the time we've had the space. If it weren't such a good location and so well maintained, I would probably be a lot grumpier about that. (I think we started out in the $120 range and now it's around $200 -- that over the course of 4 years, I think.) However, I feel like we do get $200 in value, in terms of the feeling of security I have about the space. I know others have written it's not secure, but that hasn't been my experience. Certainly when we visited, it was locked up tight and we needed our codes for every part of the security levels. read more

No stars to be honest. We made reservations for our RV over a month ago to store our RV for 2 months. We had planned to bring it on Sunday and store it. My husband called this morning to check on our reservation and to how when we needed to do to pick up keys. They gave our reservation away. 100% pissed!!!! This is unsatisfactory. Don't not use this place. When he called to reserve they said we had nothing to worry about it was all taken care of. Now we have nowhere to store our RV. Extremely upset. read more

When I needed more space because of a last minute shipment, the office manager Justin stepped in and helped us secure an extra unit. Not to mention the help I have received on numerous occasions when I have shipments dropped off or being picked up at the storage center and i'm running late. BEST STORAGE FACILLITY IN THE ENTIRE BAY AREA! I first rented a storage unit from Seaport Storage in August of 2009. Justin, the Storage Center Manager, was exceptionally helpful. I surveyed the price of storage facilities in the area, and Seaport Storage was the least costly by a considerable margin. In addition, Seaport has move-in specials which make it even more affordable. One thing I particularly like is that Seaport Storage is virtually brand-new, and is an indoor storage facility which is several stories tall. This makes moving into the storage locker much easier, especially in the rain. The building is climate-controlled, which makes a considerable difference when storing things which are sensitive to fluctuations in heat, cold, humidity and moisture, such as boxes, paper and wood. It's also much cleaner, as when I've stored my belongings in "outdoor" storage facilities in the past, my things seem to always be covered in dirt and dust. Seaport has a multitude of security cameras throughout and they employ a "fingerprint scan" to access the building, so I have no concerns whatsoever about my unit being broken into (as if I have anything worth stealing). Seaport also has a very nice customer lounge with teleconferencing capabilities and free Wi-Fi. This came in handy one day when my internet service went down at home and I needed to send a lot of emails that day. Something else that is very unique about Seaport is that you can rent a storage unit after-hours via a machine outside the front doors of the office. You can select what size unit you want and it will accept your credit card and assign a storage locker to you and will dispense a lock and key. By far the best benefit of all is the free use of their moving van. If you are located in the area, Seaport Storage has a 20' long moving truck which renters can use to move their belongings into their storage unit with only the cost of fuel. The savings from that alone could be substantial. All that having been said, a brand new state-of-the-art facility isn't worth much without the customer service to back it up. Luckily, the best part about Seaport Storage is the people sitting behind the front desk. The personnel have always been extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. This is more than just "icing on the cake," it's the heart and soul of any business. If you choose to rent from Seaport Storage, I hope you have as enjoyable an experience as I have. read more

If you're thinking about storing your RV here, think again. The lot is a dusty windswept mess, full of junk RVs and junk Trailers. There's no security that I can see, the guy at the front desk doesn't seem to have a view of the storage area which is far from their office. When I showed up for my appointment there was no where to park my RV so I had to park it on the shoulder with the flashers on. I asked him to show me the spot before I pulled in but he refused telling me it was too far to walk. He said it would be fine so I drove in with my 40 foot fifth wheel. I got all the way to the end of the long rows of junk only to find there was no room to turn. I took the best angle I could to try to clear but ended up bashing my left rear pretty severely. To add insult to injury he took absolutely no responsibility for the situation merely saying "It's self park, it's not my problem. "I had not signed anything nor been shown any policy in writing or otherwise told that I am waving any rights to sue them for damages. That is what I will be doing based on the their attitude. read more

I rented from this storage for 6 years never missed a payment and when i went to check out i found my car trailer that i had stored there had been stolen.!!!!contacted the manager he said he would check the videos from the tapes but could not find any persons who had stolen my trailer redwood city police were no help ask if i could be reembursed for my loss they said it was my fault for not checking on my trailer more often ????what a load i trusted this company with my personal goods and paid a lot of money $100 A MONTH FOR 6 YEARS AND NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT !!!!!! I had a great experience with Seaport Storage today. My movers recommended them and they were cheaper than another storage/moving combo in SF that good reviews on Yelp so I called and explained my situation. I was moving unexpectedly (within a week) and was trying to find an apartment, but if I didn't then I would need storage. Justin was great, really understanding and helpful and reserved the space for me for several days, without even taking payment. When I walked in today with my movers, he remembered me, called me by name and he took great care of me. Justin even thoughtfully gave me a first floor unit to save time in case I was paying my movers by the hour. He also gave me a good deal since I was unsure about how long I'd be there. I'll be billed monthly and can pay online, so don't expect to have any of the issues other people have mentioned with billing. The facility was clean, security systems seemed hightech (cameras everywhere) and were easy to use and it seemed easy for the movers to get in and out using the carts they provide. In the midst of an unfortunate moving situation, Justin and Seaport Storage made the experience a good one! read more
