I cannot recommend ABC Self Storage ENOUGH. I am a student in the area and have used ABC Self Storage for multiple years with not a single problem and with only the most pleasant of surprises. Yul, the owner, is one of the kindest and most selfless business owners that I have met; every time I showed up to move into or out of my unit, he was there and was personally willing to assist (which alone is worth all the money, as I'm sure there's no way I could have figured out how to maneuver my moving vehicle in some tight spaces on my own). The units themselves are perfect for long- or short-term storage, and the pricing is impeccable. In picking the units, Yul is helpful, knowledgable, down-to-Earth, and will help you as much as possible without trying to upsell you at all. Definitely worth it! read more

I had a great experience renting a storage unit and having people like Yul and Kevin working here made it even better. From going over what was available and finding the best bang for my buck I was able to find my initial storage unit without feeling pressured/judged into choosing one vs the other. It simply came down to what would be the best unit for my needs. To make a long story short I went with a medium sized unit which I later had to upgrade to a bigger unit and throughout the whole process Yul and Kevin went above and beyond with providing great customer service. They constantly offered a hand to assist in moving my items efficiently and had great conversations during moving items. They truly make you feel at home and like you're family. If I ever need to rent a storage unit again ABC Self Storage will be my first and only option unless more people find this gem and all the units get reserved. I didn't quite understand what all the five star reviews were referring to until I rented my own unit (great pricing, online bill pay) and called to get my box moved to the loading area (super clean box plus you drive right up to your unit to load/unload!). Yul is the nicest person I think in the entirety of the Bay Area and maybe Northern California. Was so accommodating on the phone with pushing my date out for when I'd come put my stuff in storage, so nice when I called to confirm, so thoughtful when I had trouble with my door access code (he buzzed me in remotely then came and found me with the code written on a sticky note), just the nicest and friendliest and most genuine person ever. Best storage experience I've ever had! Just moved out of my unit as I'm moving out of state. Everything's secure, clean, it's easy to access a unit stored on a higher shelf by calling ahead, access hours are reasonable, none of my possessions have ever been damaged or endangered in any way, and I always felt safe accessing the unit in the building alone. Yul has always been chill/friendly/helpful and contributes to storage at ABC feeling more human/less impersonal than it ordinarily would. read more

ABC is close to our home, and we are considering a rental space. I wrote to find out rates (quite reasonable) and availability (limited) which is a good thing for them and both bad (possible unavailabily when we need it) and good (a sign of happy customers) for us. They got right back to us. When we're ready to give some of our stuff a home away from home, we'll check ABC, hoping to find them a "studio apartment". Look at their reviews, look at their rates; just make sure you leave a slot for us when we're ready. read more

My experience at ABC Storage was easy and all-encompassing thanks to the incredible support and help of Yul, one of the center's managers. Yul went above and beyond to help me throughout the process of finding a unit to the acrobatics of how to place my things inside. He has an incredible amount of experience and was very flexible when I would change my mind of which unit I needed. He was kind, supportive, and helpful during my three visits to the unit. In particular, he helped me switch units last minute, stayed 2 hours late to help me with my overwhelming move, and gave me much-needed advice to help get all of my things inside safely and un-damaged. Yul's calm and confident nature helped me feel assured that everything was being handled correctly. Not to mention-- the prices at ABC cannot be beat. Been a customer for a couple years, have often recommended ABC and had no complaints until recently. I had fraud on my credit card so was issued a new card. This caused my monthly payment to ABC to not go through. I did get a call from them and returned that call within a couple days. They promised to send an email that would allow me to update my card with some kind of form. Never received that email. So, after a couple more days, went on their site to make a payment and was not happy to see that they had charged me both a late fee and a "pre-lien" (??!!) fee. That seems aggressive and not necessary. I'm sure places like this frequently have to deal with people skipping out and not paying but that's no excuse. I'll remain a customer for now but this is disappointing. read more

I stored my stuff here on the recommendation of a friend. It was a good experience. My "second level" unit was reasonably easy to access using their table-dolly thingy, and for a 6x6x6 foot unit, it was less than $50 per month. Though the place has no A/C (like most all storage), it never seemed that hot in there because it is well-ventilated. Their hours were better than other places, and the staff friendly. They did accidentally bill me for an extra month, but their staff quickly canceled that once I alerted them to the problem. read more

I really can't overstate how friendly they are here--and that's kind of a big deal for the self-storage scene. This market niche is full of jerks. It's such a relief to have a local option as opposed to the big, inflexible, uncaring storage chains. I got a great deal on my locker, and was able to buy a bunch of supplies and a lock at the same time without getting gouged. Saving time AND money rocks. They're also able to have some flexibility with their office hours and pricing structure which is really cool. The units on the ground level of this place are a little more expensive. To save money, you can rent one of the units that's up on a "shelf". These units need to be accessed via a ladder. For the loading and unloading of large items, a member of the staff will assist you with a forklift. This is why the friendly staff and generous office hours come so much into play. You need their help to load most of the lockers. All in all, this place is definitely not the shiny and refined experience that the big chains offer, but they more than make up for it with their prices and their focus on customer experience. read more

I was reading a few of the 5-star comments and I could not agree more: 1. This is by far the best experience I have ever had with self storage 2. Yul, who is one of the managers, is *very* friendly and *very* helpful. Here is just one of the interactions: My move got delayed, I arrived to the location minutes from closing time, Yul -always with a smile and helpful attitude- signed me up and got me going within minutes. 3. Their layout is awesome. I got a unit on the first floor. Their warehouse design and large doors allowed for trucks to be just within a few dozen feet from the storage unit. 4. Yes, it's a little weird that the units are essentially particle board boxes stacked up in a warehouse, but on the other hand, this is probably one of the reasons why they are cheaper than most of their competitors I have nothing but positive things to say about them. read more

Students . . . look no further. It's that frantic time of the year, - you've got to find something to do with your stuff and the employees are getting the dorm units ready for you. We had another great experience with this company this morning. Yul helped us figure out how to organize our unit and made sanity out of chaos. Every time we have come here the two employees have been extremely helpful. The prices are very reasonable, and it is nice and cool in there. For the dorm unit size you might have to call ahead 24 hours to get your stuff back. But once you get there they will help you figure it out. They will even open up after hours if you arrange ahead of time. After calling around to find the best place, I believe I succeeded! read more

In one word, Excellent! We originally had an appointment at nearby Peninsula storage but when we got there, they told us they had decided to close early and didn't seem concerned that we had a van full of stuff and nowhere to go. We tried calling other places, and luckily Yul at ABC was welcoming, found the right size unit for our stuff (we had originally asked for a larger and more expensive unit but he pointed out we didn't need anything that large), and helped us load it in. Rates were also very reasonable, lower than the competition in this area. A year later, we came back, found everything in great condition. Yul again helped us take the bigger and heavier items out without our asking- definitely not part of his job! His customer service went the extra mile and beyond. Very highly recommended. read more

I needed a storage facility for a month and a half while I was buying a house, and they walked me through the process, and figuring out the size of the container needed. We did need to use the forklift for access to the second-story container, but it was relatively painless and the people there were very accommodating. In short, highly recommend. read more

Yul gave us very sensible advice in terms of how much space we'd need and answered all our questions. He maintains the facility, so he really knew it well. 5 star customer service, easy access, economical prices to store - best deal that I could find around to store that extra stuff. Stuff. You know, that Stuff you should get rid of but for some strange reason that Stuff has somehow grown emotional strings to your heart not your head where logic would dictate: get rid of that Stuff. So you store that Stuff & decide to go through your Stuff a year later & wonder why the heck did I store all that Stuff? So you remove that Stuff & lo! You donate that Stuff to charity & realize that the write off was less than the price to store that Stuff. ANY-way, I used them for ~a year. Had a unit on the ground floor close to the roll up door. Very nice. I could easily go check on that Stuff of mine to make sure it hadn't grown emotional strings to someone else's heart. Each & every time, my Stuff was still there. Until I finally disengaged and got rid of well, *almost* all of that Stuff. The rest is stored somewhere around my house out of sight & well, honestly, I have no idea where the rest of that Stuff is! As soon as I find the rest of that Stuff, I think I will go back to store it at ABC again. Better to stuff my Stuff there than here with the rest of my Stuff in my Stuffed up house. :-) read more

My mom passed away a couple of years ago and we needed a place to store her things until her grandchildren started getting apartments that needed furniture. I called around and quickly realized that ABC had just the right size unit and at a very competitive price. Getting signed up and all the furniture into the unit was a breeze and everyone we worked with at the facility was super helpful. I've been back to the unit several times to take things out, and to put new things in, and every trip has been easy. Plenty of parking, easy access for loading and unloading, and most important, helpful and friendly staff. I'm really happy I picked ABC. read more

My experience is right in line with the other reviews. I haven't tried any other storage places, but I get the feeling that accessing the units here (particularly second level) is a little different....but that wasn't a big deal to me. The prices were the best of any places I looked into. They have a really wide variety of different sizes and options to fit your needs. I never had any issues access my stuff, and I felt that it was safe and secure. I think one of the best things about this place is the staff....extremely friendly. I've had a pretty good experience with these folks. Every employee I've talked with has been helpful and took the time to make sure I understood my options, which was important to me since I initially booked my unit while I was out of town. Understanding all of the different sizes and unit options was tricky but they talked me through it. The unit itself is clean, dry, and comes with a free lock. I've been able to access it easily every time except once, which I had to leave off a star for. I came by around 4pm (the office is open until 6, access to the warehouse is until 7) to put some things in storage. I was able to get through the gate with my code, but could get the door to the warehouse to open even though it's the same code. Another person there was having the same issue. No one was in the office and there was a sign up that they would be back shortly. I waited about 20 minutes but no one ever came back and I had to leave. So, I guess my only complaint would be - don't close the office during open hours. Otherwise, everything has been good. read more
