I've now come here three separate times specifically to refill propane, and every single time it's been closed -- despite clearly advertising "Open 7 Days" for propane service. That's extremely frustrating and misleading. On the two occasions when there was an attendant, the experience wasn't much better. The staff member had a very poor attitude, seemed annoyed to help, and showed zero willingness to provide basic customer service. If you're going to advertise propane availability 7 days a week, you need to actually follow through. Wasting customers' time repeatedly like this is unacceptable. Whoever the young woman that worked with Amaya on Sunday, June 14th around 4pm needs to learn customer service. Amaya was originally helping us and she was great throughout the entire time. When it came time to pay, we saw that we were rung up for over $140 than what we were quoted for. When we asked about this, that's when this other girl stepped in. My dad made the reservation for the truck, wrote down all of the information of what he was told, but unfortunately didn't get the guy's name that he spoke with nor got a confirmation email with the information. We completely understand that we should've asked for a confirmation with that info other than just the reservation number. However, ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED. So we weren't pulling this info from our asses like we were accused. The girl in question asked us who we spoke to, told her we didn't get the name, and asked her if she could reference the calls that were recorded. She said she doesn't have access to those recordings and that only her manager does but he wasn't there. I simply asked her to call her manager. She pretended to call her manager and then said he wasn't answering. I told her that I'm a manager at my job and know that if my employees call me, it's my job to pick up or call back within a timely manner. She smirked at me when I told her that. And I followed by telling her that it's not like we would randomly pull a number from our asses, and she said "well this is our rate if you pick it up on a Sunday vs a Monday morning." And I told her that I would understand that if we were picking it up in the morning by 30 mins before they close & it's over $140 more than what we were quoted? That also wasn't communicated to us, and if it was then we would've picked it up on Monday morning. I asked her again to call her manager or try to access the recording. She simply stopped talking to us and then just rang us up for the original price we were quoted for. I recommend this place if you're not traveling too far. The rental per day is super economical but the price per mile is ridiculous ($1.19 per mile). If you've got a long way to drive your better off going to Monarch or Penske. Patience is very important here. Everything moves slowly. It'll take some time for them to get to you and then when it's is finally time for you to rent a vehicle it's a slow grind. Once you are out the door though things are great. This U-Haul has been my go to place for the last two moves I did in terms of purchasing packing material. Their prices are reasonable and I love that their boxes are so sturdy and reusable - they claim to be able to be used up to 4 times, although honestly I really have only used them twice (but that's probably due more to me not really being as careful with them versus them not living up to their promise). However, they were out of some packing supplies I needed on my last visit even though when I pre-ordered the material ahead of time, it allowed me to check out with those items in my cart. The store reimbursed me for the items they didn't have, but it was still disappointing that I had made a trip out there specifically to get all my items in one go and that ended up not being the case. I showed up with a reservation. This lady lady from the picture told me that there's no truck the size I reserved. I asked her to issue me a $50 guarantee credit. She said she can only give me that credit if I pick up a truck from another location. I told her I don't have a ride there and demand a credit so I can use it for next time. She then told me the credit can be issued by the manager and the manager is not on site. Why can you issue a credit when I can pick up at another location, and not able to do that for my future rental? I asked her to call her manager and she refused to do that. Check to make sure they're not overcharging you for propane. Cashier tried to charge me for 1.9 Gallons, that's just about double what it should have been. I brought in a 5lb tank which by volume can only hold 1.2 gallons of propane. I should add the tank wasn't empty when I brought it so even less available volume to be filled. Little homie said we always put a little extra. Well you literally cannot, certainly not 0.9 gallons more, that's what the Over Pressure Device valve is for. Anyway talked him down to 1.2 gallons, but still was overcharged. Left a bad taste in my mouth both the experience and the reminder that our schools have failed us; 0.9 is almost 1 so NOT just a little more. read more

Rented a cargo van to transport a full size mattress and box spring. Reserve the van a day in advance online. It cost $19.95 + $0.79 per mile. I traveled a total of 32 miles and everything came out to around $50 (Prices as of 6/29/2020). There's 2 hour street parking available right in front. I was comfortable leaving my car there. Pick up and drop off was easy with no wait time. The van I used was in excellent condition and only had 9K miles on it. While I was there I also inquired about their propane filling service. It cost $3.49 per gallon, I think I will bring my tanks here next time. read more

I have to say, this was one of the smoother U-Haul transactions I've had. I've used U-Haul in the past, and when booking through the website, I've come to expect issues coming up day-of or day-before. As per usual my reservation was changed the night before picking up to this location; but luckily it worked out. Raiden helped me out with my rental agreement and was efficient and chill. He was knowledgeable with my questions, and remained calm when a previous customer interrupted our interaction by complaining about not understanding how to use the U-Haul app and thrusting their phone towards him. When the customer left, he apologized to me for understanding. 5 stars for having to deal with nonsense like that. On the dropoff, Roderick was equally as awesome, as I had forgotten my personal house keys in my truck and he brought them back to me as I was leaving. Again, 5 stars for being kind, understanding, and for saving me an afternoon of having to re-trace my steps to where I could've lost my keys. read more

I rented 2 uhauls in two days from 2 different places and unfortunately they were night and day difference. This place was slow, inefficient, and just overall horrible. I used the mobile app to get a van, it assigned me to a van that was out of service and the employee who was helping me just didn't know what to do and had to ask another staff member who for some reason felt it was more important to chat with other co-workers instead of help a waiting customer. In the end they still couldn't get the app to reflect the correct van I was given so I was just given a random van, I had to take tons of pics to document the damage/millage/gas etc.. since nothing on the app was accurate since it was for another van. It took me almost a full hour to get in and out... delayed my moving plans significantly read more

Easy reservation online, a van was available no problem, prompt service on the pickup and the return, no weird charges, no pushy sales. The only issue was that a brand new Ford Transit van with 400 miles had busted AC, but things happen I guess, not their problem that Ford can't build a decent car. read more

I wish I had checked this page before using this location. Really bad customer service. There is a guy named Wilbert (if I remember correctly) who just ignored me instead of helping me when the mobile app assigned me a truck that was being assigned to a customer inside the store at the same time (what is the point of using the mobile app to reserve a truck if they can also assign it to another person at the same time). He was just plain rude and I had to call him out to receive some help. The supervisor or lead agent inside was the same way, super defensive and confrontative, I understand that they are very busy but why not help confused customers instead of plain ignoring them, we are not going to go away, we have a need at that moment so why not help so we can work together on resolving an issue instead? I am going to need a moving truck really soon again but I will definitely look for other options instead of U-Haul. Thank you! read more

When I got to the center was told it would take much longer than I was originally told (6 hours) because there were too many cars booked. I told them I didn't have a ride home and needed to wait and they told me that wasn't possible as they have no place to wait (even though I signed up for that originally). So I took an Uber home for $30. Got a call 1.5 hrs later that they had finished, just as I got home - ugh. So I took an Uber back for $30. The staff was pretty rude when I asked if they could make sure if I was getting the warranty. They refused to check and told me tgat I'm getting what I'm getting- luckily warranty was on the bill, but Wally's it have been that hard to confirm for me? Then they ridiculed me implying I should just be grateful that they did the work for me. Stay away!!! There are other better places to get a hitch installed. read more

For the most part of the rental the service was great until I dropped off on 8/3. It was explained to me that if I fill Up to 1/4 tank I get a credit for $36 and the young lady who helped mentioned for every line filled is about 1 gallon. I drove a total of 13 miles since it was a local move. Filled up 3 gallons just to get it to 1/4 tank and honestly thought I was being generous. when I dropped off they didn't credit me because it was just under the 1/4 tank line..are you kidding me. It was very inconvenient for me to even go to the gas station and I'm assuming that uhaul gives credit so they don't have to fill up the tank. They basically gave me credit and matched dollar for dollar for the 3 gallons I paid at the end of the day I might as well have not gassed up the truck. And the lady even mentioned with a sarcastic tone "well how much did you pay for gas" I explained you guys gave me credit for as much gas I put in the tank so now customers are basically taken advantage of so you don't have to go get gas? IGiving a customer a truck with 1/8 fuel left is terrible service and asking them to bring it back with just under 1/4 tank and not crediting them is even worse. I'm not sure who the general manager is but I've aways gone through Uhaul for my moving needs and even my tow hitch needs. I will no longer support a company who employs this type of attitude and who doesn't care about its customers. On a side note, I tried calling this place before actually going into the store, and the wait time for someone to pick up the line was over 1 hour so I decided to just go to the store since I live about 1 mile away. I was surprised to see that there were about 5 employees behind the counter doing what looked like absolutely nothing. 2 were on their phone. That alone should tell you something about how this place is managed. Not all UHaul locations are like that. I had a reservation for this morning for a tow dolly. All kinds of plans made around getting that, buying a car, etc. Stopped in yesterday at the Belmont store to confirm things, was assured they had the dolly for me and it would be OK. This morning, about an hour before I was to pick it up, they canceled it and moved the reservation to a different store, in San Francisco. Everyone keeps talking about their 100% Guarantee, but it seems like a Seinfeld episode. Then I ran into this guy Rodrick when I went in to pick up a trailer and needed the ball reversed on the mount. Was told very rudely that "I won't do that for you". After sitting down and giving him my PRE-PAID and reserved WEEKS IN ADVANCE information, Roderick said he needed a "phone number of someone else that can call me in case they (Uhaul) can't reach me." I explained that if they (Uhaul) can't reach me on this phone, then nobody can, because it's the only phone I have. To which he immediately replied "then I am cancelling your reservation." I inform him that this is the great (sarcastically) service that I have been hearing about from other reviews and that I really shouldn't expect more should I? I guess Roderick's previously horrible customer service record touched a nerve to which set the tone for the rest of our conversation. Buddy, you shouldn't do the deed if you can't live with the punishment, you have 1.5 stars, own it. We somehow struggled to get past this initial refusal to rent to me (despite me being pre-paid and pre-verified) and made it all the way to the drop off location for my one way rental. I have already entered and confirmed all of this information prior to coming in and now Roderick claims that I can no longer drop off in the location I initially confirmed. Excuse me? I ask why and he says "because this is what the computer says," great critical thinking there buddy. He then says I can call a 1800 number to ask about the issue. Again, seriously? I am sitting right there, the location was already confirmed, what is going on here. THEN I REALIZE, they are trying to charge me an extra fee! Uhaul have bravado I'll give them that, to nickle and dime customers for E V E R Y T H I N G and go about it in super shady ways. After explaining that my drop off location is not listed and it was already confirmed, he REFUSES TO RENT ME THE TRUCK. I then have to go to ANOTHER location, go through the process from scratch, I lose my reservation, end up having to drive there AND back (instead of the one-way I reserved) and end up paying double. Hmmmm, smells fishy to me, Uhaul must have a systematic method of refusing good deals for people who pre-book so they can then rent them at the last minute and charge them more. (*UPDATE*, I checked other reviews and YEP, this is a common trend, SHAME ON YOU UHAUL for these shady price gouging tactics). TLDR; Reserved weeks in advance, Paid up front, Roderick Jones is on a mad power trip upset at his tainted record of poor service, then I (The Customer) get 3 hours of my life wasted and have to pay double for my rental. Truckshare 24/7 is flawed and broken. Not only did they charge me before giving me a surprise sobriety test (I was sober, I was just cautious because it was my first time taking the strange test), they deemed me intoxicated for answering the questions too cautiously. To top it off, I called several customer representatives on the phone including a manager, all of whom were unsympathetic to my situation. Apparently, they can not override the results of the test, even though I was on the phone live with them. The manager even hung up on me as I became frustrated, her last words being "Good Luck!". This has been such a terrible experience. Uhaul's customer service is the worst. I'm still stuck out here in front of the very truck I was here to pick up, but now I'll have to come back at 7 am in the morning. So be warned! Truckshare is not reliable and not well designed. They will take ur money first and give you a test on your phone that can lock you out of picking up your truck. read more

When we asked about it we were told that they had no other spaces and that they could not discount it because it was already deeply discounted. The price we were quoted was $240 a month. This is the sign in their waiting room. I'm not sure what discount we were getting. Looks like we're paying $20 more for a storage unit that has a pole in the middle of it. Wow... I have seen bad U-Haul places but this one is THE WORST! 3 people sitting behind their computers. No one got up to help me locate or gather the variety of large boxes I needed to pack for my move. I was the only customer in the location. All three employees were on their phones. I was scolded when I attempted to take some small boxes that were strapped together that the open pile was on the other-side of the large display. I was told I could use the orange cart to carry my boxes out to my car. No help offered gathering the various sizes around the store. No help bringing in cart back into store. Pitiful. Phenomenal service and attitude by Glen C II (GC2) I noticed poor reviews but was limited on my location choice. Glen was respectable and displayed pride and enthusiasm in his work. In addition, the vehicle was pulled up, cleaned and ready for use upon our arrival. A true asset to U Haul and this location with poor history.
