I love this storage facility so much, I have had 3 units here over the years at various times. I've used several storage facilities (out of necessity geographically) and this one run by Barry and Tyler is far superior to all others (including other ones in the Security Public Storage portfolio). These gentlemen not only keep the property totally clean, the office is always so fabulously decorated for various holidays. It's really uplifting after what is almost always an exhausting trip to storage. They don't have to do that - but they care about their surroundings and their customers' experience. They are efficient and extremely helpful and friendly. They know your name, they chat you up. I just highly recommend them. (Truth be told, I even got a little misty after the last time I moved out because I knew I wasn't going to need storage anymore and I was going to miss these guys.) read more

Last November, I needed storage space to temporarily move some items(turned out to be more than what I realized I needed to store) while I was making plans to transition to a new city. When I called SPS's office number, I reached Tyler who proceeded to carefully and clearly lay out their offerings, pricing structure, protocol for entering and leaving the facility, and fielded all of my questions(and I did have quite a few). Tyler was patient, detailed, and polite, which was actually more than I had expected. I say this because I've had just mediocre to poor interactions with other Storage facilities in years past. I originally rented a 5x10' unit and I had mis-calculated just how much stuff I had, so I called up Tyler and he gladly moved me into a 10'x10' unit immediately with no hassle or fuss. I recently no longer needed my storage unit and checking out with Barry was quick, efficient and with a smile. read more

So I was looking for public storage for some excess winter clothes and my old school books, a couple of weeks back, and came across several ones. I opted to go with security public storage because they were the most responsive to answering phone calls and following up. Tyler was the one who helped me on the phone with all my queries, and Barry helped me with the papers and payment during my move in. I honestly thought it was going to be a hassle if it was a same-day move in. But they were all very kind and helpful. Tip here though is you might want to get a lock of your own. They sell locks for about $11, if I remember correctly. Hopefully, my good experience with them continues throughout the rest of time i'm with them! read more

We were looking for a safe quiet place to store our stuff away from the city in a clean and safe storage unit. This place is clean, spotless clean. They have lots of space for parking that makes unloading easy. There's 6 extra large carts to use that I can use to access a big elevator straight to my storage. They have a big moving truck we can use for free. Their automated system automatically tracks my storage access, alarms and makes monthly payments easy. Their high tech system makes it easy to access the gate and storage with a code. If you live in the city and are looking for a close, clean, safe area to store your extra stuff, this place is perfect. Much cheaper than the city, right off the freeway and is in a very safe neighborhood. It's perfect for what we are looking for. read more

We received truly exceptional customer service from Security Public Storage manager Barry Picazo in San Mateo. Starting with the initial phone call it was apparent just how helpful he was in helping us determine the storage space options that would best meet our needs - even texting us videos of the spaces we discussed. We then went to see the spaces in person, and he walked us through the units as we further considered our needs and selected the solution that was perfect for us. He was extremely patient and understanding when our debit card didn't go through initially and we had to call the bank to get things cleared up. I am giving SPS 5 stars for a few reasons: 1. Barry & Tyler are the nicest, most professional and responsive onsite managers. I appreciated every interaction and their patience and kindness. They really do take pride in their work and treat customers with respect! 2. The facility is CLEAN, SAFE, SECURED. It is spotless! I had zero issues with dust/critters or other problems I have encountered in other storage areas. 3. It is fairly convenient (location to 101 and 92). 4. While abroad, I didn't worry about my belongings...I knew they were in good hands with B & T managing the facility. Downside is SPS corp raising rents every single year at least 10%. I get it, its the bay area and specifically the peninsula...but please consider some sort of reprieve for your customers. I'm in a new city in CA and paying 1/3 of the price for a larger unit, same security features. read more
