I had to come back and check it out, and I'm glad I did. It's a cute little shop with great-tasting coffee, a whimsical vibe, and a cozy ambiance. The staff were hustling behind the counter, heating up pastries and food bites while making fresh, delicious coffee. I've had their horchata coffee and recently tried their S'mores cold brew, definitely recommend. The shop itself is tiny, with only 2-3 tables inside, but there's also outdoor seating if you want to hang out. I especially loved the holiday decorations, which really elevated the space and made it feel extra charming. The downside is that parking is street-only, and the construction for the new fire station next door currently obstructs the path, making it a little awkward to get to. Hopefully that's temporary and will be cleared up once construction is finished. Overall, a fun little spot with good coffee and plenty of personality. The van definitely caught my attention, but the coffee is what brings me back!

We came here around 3 PM on a Thursday to get some work done and our afternoon caffeine re-dose. Service was great! I got the cookie butter matcha and I didn't know this was a combination I needed in my life. I think they pair very well together because matcha and cookie butter are kind of nutty in flavor profile. It's perfectly balanced too. I would get this again for sure, that says a lot cause I'm the type that likes to always try something new. They had some donuts and pastries but we didn't try it. I took a sip of the cookie butter latte my girlfriend got and that was delightful too. They have a parking lot for easy free parking. I love the all black and wood interior. They have outlets pretty accessible anywhere you sit. The WiFi was fast enough for me to work fine. There are not too many tables in here but at the time we came, that wasn't an issue. They have a cart of board games and books you can borrow from too. The place feels clean, I saw the worker cleaning the bathroom while we were here.

There's a lot I want to say about this spot but I'm a try and keep it short lol…read more My first time visiting was this past Sunday, May 31st. I had my whole day planned out with a list of events to attend but first I wanted to stop by Patria and grab some coffee to start my morning off. Located in a parking lot next to Wilson Park on Compton Blvd and Alameda Street you'll find this nice cut lawn in front of this small white building, Patria Coffee Roaster. Depending on your time of arrival, the parking lot can be full but it's cool cuz there's also street parking available. I was able to park in the lot. After walking in I was welcomed and greeted with positive energy from 2 young ladies who I forgot their names but we'll just call them "A" and "C" lol. A guy to my right was sitting next to the window working on his laptop. And two others against the wall sipping their coffees and doing whatever on their phones. A customer was at the register ordering while another customer walked in to stand in line behind me. I let her go in front of me while I took pics and recorded footage. I like the atmosphere and space a lot. It has a very nice decor. Artwork, pictures and murals with history displayed along the walls. Grab and cold drinks available for purchase. Nice music playing that wasn't too loud but just right to complement a chill coffee shop vibe. "A" was friendly and patient as shared with her this was my first visit. As I browsed thru the coffee menu before making my selection I noticed more costumes coming in. I ordered a medium sized Americano which is $3.75 but I requested to add some hazelnut creamer as well as some almond milk which totaled out to $4.75 which was quite exceptional to me. Giving the location, the quality of service and the quality of the coffee. Not to mention to overall experience. I even thru in a $1 tip. I support the business and love the space. It feels welcoming and safe. The restroom was clean. They also have many different events held there. If you're ever in the area definitely pull up and check em' out. It's black owned as well. I actually ended up sitting there in the lot sipping my coffee while working on my video to post on social media. The coffee was good and tasteful. Didn't need any sugar. Great vibes and great coffee. You can even go the park right next door and get your steps in or just chill. I definitely recommend coming here. If you're passing thru the area or coming to the city, do yourself a favor and pull up. Check em' out. Grab you a coffee or something. Prices are reasonable and the community is welcoming to all individuals.

I will say, the cafe de olla is very spice forward. I taste a lot of cloves and star anise. A bit different than others I've had but I really liked it. The mex mocha was smooth and rich. I did see that their slushies are highly rated and now that it's getting hot, we'll def be back to try them! Food 10/10 They don't have food items on their menu but there are baked goods! We ordered a cream croissant looking muffin and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were warmed up and were absolutely delicious. Vibes/Ambiance : 10/10 We came on a Friday morning and it wasn't too busy. There were people working there as they have free wifi and outlets. The decor and vibe is cute! They have art on the walls, pictures, plants, community flyers/events, and statements that make you feel safe and at home. The staff is so friendly and welcoming too! There is a little parking lot right next to the shop and we didn't find it hard to find a spot. There is a park next door so I can imagine on the weekends, parking might be a bit tricker. Loved that we found a local gem like Patria and will def be back!

For the last few weeks, I've been ordering the same latte but modifying it by asking for less milk and no cane sugar. She told me they actually have a drink on the menu called the Shakerato that was literally exactly what I had been customizing--and it was cheaper! I couldn't believe no one had mentioned it before. I really appreciated her looking out for me instead of just ringing up the more expensive modified drink. On top of that, I ordered a breakfast burrito and went out to my car to wait because it was pretty busy inside. When I came back, she was actually outside looking for me with my drink and burrito in her hands. That was such a thoughtful touch and definitely wasn't something she had to do. It's little things like that that make people want to come back. She was so kind, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond. She even provided the receipt for me so I wouldn't forget what the name of this drink was with the cost! (Which she hand wrote) Customer service like that is hard to find these days, and she made my whole morning. Coffee Drunk already had a regular customer in me, but experiences like this are why I'll keep coming back.

Still tasted good, but nothing amazing! I also ordered a Bacon Breakfast Burrito. It was good and the salsa verde was very good. There is plenty of seating inside, small patio with seating, and a large parklet with lots of seating. It was nice to see a local business very busy on a weekday mid-morning. My order came out quickly. If it wasn't so busy, I would have asked to have my drink remake or questioned it but didn't want to interrupt them.

Let me just say, Padekwa is so much more than a coffee shop. It's a community space that hosts pop-up events, Sip & Paint nights, Open Mic nights, and even R&B and Gumbo nights. It's the kind of place where people come together to enjoy great coffee and great company. Now, let's talk about the coffee! They offer an impressive variety of specialty coffees and matcha drinks, and you can even add collagen to your beverage. I ordered the praline coffee with a sprinkle of brown sugar and added collagen. It was absolutely delicious--smooth, rich, and full of flavor. Every sip was worth it! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it easy to relax, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy the moment. It's clear that Padekwa is about creating an experience, not just serving coffee.
