We stopped by on a Saturday at around 5:30. It was not crowded at all. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. We had the house margaritas. Their drink menu doesn't have any prices on it. I find that slightly annoying but we were gonna get what we got no matter what so it didn't really matter to us. Margarita was good and a good size as well (I think they were 10.99 each). Chips and salsa were good. We decided on nachos to have with our margaritas. These are NOT your traditional "stack of chips" with toppings nachos. We received 9 chips and each chip had all the toppings on it. At first we were like "what" !!!! But it was actually good. You could experience all the toppings in a few bites. The other salad ingredients, including lettuce, tomato, and cheese were on par with other restaurants. What wasn't on par was that it was served in a medium taco salad bowl filled with a grayish brown color. In all my years of eating taco salads, I have NEVER had one served in gravy. Yes, a semi-thick gravy. That's where they lost me. I took one bite and put down my fork. I was done. No doggy bag tonight. Bleck!! This is a place to which I will not return. We were promptly seated and our waitress; Ashley immediately appeared to take our drink order. Brought my vegetarian daughter here for dinner. Chips and salsa were yummy and kept coming. She had the humongous veggie burrito which was big enough for 2 meals and she said it was very good. We started with a queso and guacamole app, and were surprised to see that the guac was prepped right in front of us at the table. Amazing flavor...didn't need to modify it at all! It was all four of our first time trying this place and let me tell you how disappointed we all were/are. Not saying people don't deserve a break, but we hadn't had a drink refill in 15-20 mins and were at around 30 mins waiting for food. Pros: Table side quacmole was amazing Chips and salsa are served with good portions ********************************************** ********************************************** Cons: Inattentive Service- (took 15 mins for quac guy to show up after ordering). Drinks ran dry and took 10-15 mins between rounds. Table Necessities- No app plates provided (chips, dip, & quac all over the table) Table Necessities- Additional napkins not provided (had to get up and go to host stand to help ourselves) . No condiments on table e.g. hot sauce. Server- Would leave the table before we could elaborate on what we needed (app plates & napkins) Server came back and said the "system" didn't take our order (ok sh*t happenes) except it took her almost 20 mins to come back to let us know and to ask for our orders again. She didn't even bring a menue back..we got through it, but the forethought just was t there for her. THE FOOD- major red flag I ordered the carnitas taco platter with corn tortillas. The carnitas was cubed, room temperature, and the 3 tacos for $14 were small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. Did I mention the carnitas were chewy/rubbery? The tortillas were also room temp. The best part of this dish was the black beans & rice. My wife did not get her tortillas brought out with her food and was unimpressed with general quality Friends fajita platter came out luke warm (no sizzling cast iron pan on wood with steam coming off here) Friends wife ordered a shrimp pasta dish and out if all of the food the only plate that was decent was the one that wasn't really "Mexican" ‍ There are too many great restaurants on the OBX and 3 other Mexican restaurants within 10mins of 3 Tequilas to settle for over priced food with terrible service. It was half off 16oz drafts for Thursdays and I was getting Michelob Ultras for $2.25 a pop. They give you complimentary chips and salsa at the start. Chips came out crispy and hot, while they were companioned with a light, refreshing salsa. They have lunch specials daily for $8.75 so I ended up getting the #6, which was two beef tacos accompanied with your choice of a beef or chicken quesadilla. I got the chicken quesadilla and it was one of the best quesadillas I've ever eaten, and all it was was chicken and cheese! The bartender, Christian, was electric. October 2022: we had no idea what we were in for when we decided to stop in to three tequilas for a lunch. We were greeted with some of the best staff I have ever encountered. They were so friendly and helpful. Service was quick and the food was exceptionally delicious. Love the free chips and fresh salsa! We ordered a Mexican beer and a Paloma. Both delicious! And a lunch special of fajitas with chicken and an entrée of chicken Sonora (grilled veggies and a rancheros sauce, like a fresh house made ranch). Both were delicious and served sizzling hot with boat meat and vegetables cooked to perfection! We were not disappointed started with table side guacamole which was just amazing and a great start. The wife had the Texas fajitas which she loved. A delicious coconut margarita helped it lol. Myself I committed on this trip to go seafood all the way so decided to get the Camarones almojo de ajo which is shrimp in a garlic sauce served over rice with a cilantro kind of pico sauce. The rice was simply AMAZING, but the shrimp were a little bland.
