Sat inside after ordering take out chicken and waffle. I forgot to order on the pad regular water cost me a dollar. Service was excellent but there was an older lady staff looking at me like crazy like waiting for me to leave. I guess an ok place to eat.

ChatGBT suggested I try 24 Diner in Austin, tho I'm not sure the airport location was the best place to try. The ambiance was ok and expected of an airport, everything was clean. The service was a bit confusing, but it's open seating and you scan the QR code to order, even water. There were no refills or stop-by asking if we needed anything else, I guess we were supposed to order more water online too and we paid online after. I got the chicken and waffles - this chicken was deboned and was tiny next to the waffle, but it was juicy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the home style looking waffle and sweet cream butter on top - wasn't as thick as it looked on the chain's website. My friend enjoyed her burger, nothing special but solid. 3 star overall.

We sat down for breakfast at AUS Airport on a Tuesday morning. The restaurant wasn't packed but they seemed understaffed. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to greet us and find us a table for our group. Our waitress was great, she was attentive and was trying to get food out quickly. There was a delay in cooking the food, but our waitress mentioned there was a 30 minute wait to get food out and made sure that wasn't a problem before she put our order in. The food was actually pretty good, doesn't look great, but tasted better than you'd think by appearance! All in all the experience was good, we weren't in a rush so the delay wasn't a huge issue, it really helped that our waitress communicated the delay in food orders getting out, so we could decide prior to placing our order. She managed expectations really well.

Manage your expectations people, this is an airport. If you're looking for a place to sit and get buzzed on overpriced booze before you sit on a plane and get buzzed on overpriced booze: congratulations. You've accomplished your goal. Yours truly ordered a grilled cheese and fries because, let's be real, it's a reasonably safe bet for something that would be hard to screw up. It was good. Freshly made sandwich accompanied by hot, seasoned fries - nothing wrong with that. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints.

Done the way I like it, olmet with liberal greens garnish

Stopped for brunch while bicycling around Austin. First positive, they had a convenient and secure bike rack - but I suppose everyplace in Austin has at least one spot for bikes. Seated almost immediately - early for lunch and very late for breakfast. I ordered Ice Tea, Water, and an omelet - well done. It came out just the way I like it, garnished liberally with fresh greens - again, I'm guessing everything in Austin tries to be healthy. The ice tea was surprisingly fresh, I asked and was told they brew it frequently to preserve the flavor. Thirsty from biking, I had three glasses of ice tea and a glass of water - all frequently refreshed by Andrew, the server. The place was convenient, moderately priced, and tasty. Thanks for a nice brunch.

Chicken and burnt waffle

We were 2 hours early for our flight and my teenager chose this place because he saw chicken and waffles on the menu. The only chicken you can get is a breast, he usually gets a wing or a leg but he ordered it anyways and thought the chicken breast was really good, and seasoned. The waffle on the other hand came out a little burnt on the edges but they so kindly replaced it and it was good. I ordered the 24 hash with no meat and scrambled eggs. It was a huge helping I barely put a dent in it but it was good and seasoned. Service here was good, it wasn't crowded or anything about 7 patrons. I would eat here again before a flight.

Service fantastic. Pink haired guy was wonderful. Hash was amazing. However chicken and waffle should be chicken thigh or brined.

Founded in 1997 by Chip McElroy, Live Oak was built with a simple idea "make beer for people who actually like the taste of beer." In 2015, Live Oak moved to their current location on a beautiful property along the Colorado River, opening a taproom and biergarten. One its unique features...it's off the beaten path of other breweries. Live Oak Brewing is north of the airport and backs to the Fast Park remote airport parking lot. At first glance it looks like it's a convergence of a fire station and deserted manufacturing plant. The grounds are impeccable...tall statuesque trees, lush green vegetation and an extensive outside biergarten. It feels like you are in a nature bubble. Interestingly, Live Oak Brewing has its own on site 18 hole disc golf course (different from traditional golf) located directly on the brewery's property. Live Oak Brewing's interior has the feel of a German Hofbräu...homey, spacious, and welcoming, with long communal tables that encourage conversation and human interaction. You can see directly into the brewing space, with large tanks and equipment. Also, board games are available if you choose to play. Live Oak is family friendly and dog friendly. In fact, Groot, the owner's dog, freely roams through the brewery drinking area. While I only had sips of beer (not a big beer drinker), my friends enjoyed their beers. Live Oak Brewery Company is a super fun place to hang out.

Creeks is the restaurant in the lobby of that circular Hilton you see at Bergstrom Airport…read more Have you ever driven by that circular buidling and ever wondered what it is like inside? I did that like from the first week I moved to Austin. It was an Air Force HQ at the time. Going inside was always on my bucket list. To write this review, I did just that. The Circular Hilton looks just as cool inside as you think it would. And Creeks restaurant in the dead center of the circle is a fine place. But now that that is out of my system I don't have to go back again. * * * There is some serious architecture inside the Airport Hilton. This will appeal to people like me who love designs in structural steel. (Think about what the Eiffel Tower looks like as you go up the stairs.) In this case, the design touch is single steel pillars turning into quadruple steel columnar pillars holding up a large glass dome with steel divisions between the panes. The visual effect is breathtaking. The visual effect would be even more breathtaking If there were not a stupid hotel bar in the middle of the atrium with a lot of Sports TVs that block 2/3 of the view. But the Hilton people have to actually run a hotel. The overwhelming majority of their customers want to order drinks at the bar, eat a snack or a meal and watch Sports TV. Very few of them want to go hungry while staring up at structural steel in meditative contemplation. My best attempts at meditative contemplation fell woefully short ... So I just tossed in the towel and watched Sports TV. It was an afternoon in the middle of the week so a bunch of talking heads were giving their opinion on a variety of NBA players. Well, they were emotional enough to be entertaining. Some of the video clips were okay. * * * Foodwise, Creeks is not too bad. It is hotel food at hotel prices. I am not sure how well they are set up for kitchen space. (Although most hotels do a lot of catering.) The menu is kept manage-ably small. The prices for the food were slightly high but not disturbingly high. (Foreshadowing ........ I did however have to park my car. You can guess where this review is going to go.) I ordered a plate of nachos. The bar nachos were decent. To justify the mark-up, they were served in a long narrow canoe-like serving dish. The graphic was appealing. The quantity was more than enough for lunch. Even with the large bar-kiosk in the center of the floor, I could still see a good quarter of the roof. So there were things to see when I would get bored with basketball chatter. * * * Remember this is the airport. I had to drive through a gate and get a ticket in order to enter the hotel parking lot. The staff explained that the gate wouldn't be an issue and I could just push a button to get out. Well, maybe I did things wrong. But going to the gate I found that it was going to cost me an extra $12 to get out of the parking lot. That on top of the hotel prices on the nachos. So this was not a cheap outing. * * * The inside of the Airport Hilton is still something to see. The food they serve in the atrium is not too bad. Ride your bike to the Hilton, walk from your house to the Hilton, or take the Hilton limo from the terminal if your flight to Austin has just landed. Driving there and parking is only for people who really really really love lobby-gazing.

So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. We later saw Brian at another place. And I'll write about that in my review for that place as well. Brian, you're Doll, thank you for your hospitality.

Technically, I'd give this a 4.5/5 for the elevated airport prices, but you're sort of a captive audience and I have to give credit to AUS for at least including local brands, even when they some are tweaked a little bit to be included. (I'm looking at you, 24 Diner's less-anchovy-y airport caesars.) There's not really anything to change about beer, thank goodness. This stand has Austin Beerworks' beer, which is some damn good beer. I wish ABW had a distribution deal in the northeast so I could continue drinking it at my new house. Service at the Beerdrop is usually friendly and just the right amount of attentive--friendly if you're bored, hands-off if you've got a laptop out. One bartender on a slow day even checked on my order at the other food hall counter for me, which was rad. There's a full bar with non-beer options, too, although I've only ever been there for the beer. It can get a little loud and crowded if the wider food hall's busy, but unless you're hitting at peak food o'clock, it's pretty laid-back in there.

I ordered a 14-ounce serving of Fire Eagle IPA (for $11.49)--which is very good. The bartender suggested to instead order the 20-ounce serving for $1.50 more ($0.65 per ounce rather than $0.82). However, I was trying to spare some room in my stomach for a subsequent crawl to Hippies & Hops (featuring local beers from Live Oak Brewing). I lucked out on the timing, to watch an NFL playoff game during my visit here. It was surprising that other patrons at the bar were mostly drinking beers other than the local beers that this bar showcases; or alcoholic beverages other than beer. I like the easygoing atmosphere here, where it is easy to socialize with the bartenders and patrons.
