Overall this place was fantastic. The valet, host, our server José, ambiance, cacio e pepe and the pizza. While I appreciate the happy hour prices, I wish they had a couple classic cocktails and/or beers on the HH menu. Most of the cocktails seemed pretty fruity like the "Blueberry Espresso Martini". This place is cute and delicious! This restaurant is in front of the hotel's other main restaurant. I got to sit in a side section that was decorated like a southern backyard. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and attentive. To start the meal I had the lemon meringue pie martini. This was delicious beyond delicious!!! It was literally a lemon meringue pie in a glass right down to the meringue. For my main I had the Casio e Pepe. This was the best I have Casio e Pepe I have ever had. It was creamy, rich and peppery, and had pasta that was perfectly cooked. For my 2nd drink I had the blueberry espresso martini. This drink was a unique combination of flavors that elevated not only a typical espresso martini but the dessert I ordered. Speaking of dessert, I had the pistachio ice cream. YuM! This ice cream was creamy, rich, full of pistachio flavor and complimented nicely by the pistachio cookies it was served with. LOVED this meal! First of all, it's a really cool venue inside a hotel. Second, they have a great deal for two for around $80. With it we got a Caesar salad, meatballs, and garlic bread for starters, all of which were excellent (do not skip the garlic bread). For mains we went with a sausage pizza and pesto pasta. They have a deal on wine bottles as well. Great service too. Reservations at other places were all booked, so when this place was available I was a bit hesitant to come but I'm so glad we ended up here! read more

My wife and I were staying at the Fairmont Austin and twice dined at Revue for brunch. Overall I was impressed with the quality of the food. For the first day was seated with another couple on a long table. We were on one end and they were on the other. I ordered a coffee and decided to give their buffet a try. Our waitress seemed not impressed I ordered the buffet. She did bring the coffee quickly and it was really good with a nice aroma and flavor. I headed to the small room up front to see what was available and had the standard items found at hotels like eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt. I grabbed a plate and added scrambled eggs, lots of bacon, sausage that had cheese in it, breakfast potatoes, and the wonderful eggs with chicken in it. All of it was really good but the eggs with chicken was the highlight of the buffet. It had so much flavor and very delicious. The next day I was too full for the buffet even though I would not mind just eating the eggs & chicken, but ordered the Avocado Toast with a mimosa. This time we were seated at a nice private table for two. The restaurant manager even brought out my plate and placed it in front of me where the Avocado Toast was beautifully presented. It was a large piece of grilled sourdough bread with avocado on it along with a poached egg. It was very delicious and had great flavor. I enjoyed it very much. read more

I'm in town staying at the Fairmont for a business trip. My companion and I decided to try Revue for breakfast. We were seated at the back, in an adorable "porch" area. The restaurant offers a breakfast buffet for $30. The price was a little steep for me, since I don't eat that much. Instead, I opted for a smoked salmon Benedict. The salmon was great. The English muffin was toasted perfectly. The Hollandaise sauce was smooth and delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The coffee was great and while they didn't have cream, they did have half-and-half so just a splash and it was perfect too. Our waitress was wonderful even with the busy crowds that they had this morning. We were checked on and coffees were refilled. I look forward to coming back here again during my stay. read more

The valentines menu was just their normal menu with a special dessert. We opted for al a carte. We were confused by our seating as well. We were seated basically on a porch in the family area after paying for a valentines day reservation. The food was PHENOMENAL! we visited this location as we were staying only a block away and I just had to check it out. Sam and Maria G. from this venue were so sweet and accommodating, they really made our dinner special with stopping by the table to say hello, and following that with complimentary dessert for our special occasion. Also.. I have been talking about the garlic bread here since I left and cannot stop. I plan on returning to Austin one day and I will definitely be coming back here. (May or may not be just for the garlic bread) the restaurant itself was beautiful, I think the way they set this place up is really unique. It's multiple venues within one venue and you can mix and match different foods like Oriental, Italian and raw bar. I highly suggest the "Meal for Two". We could barely finish it! If you like brussel sprouts, I HIGHLY recommend the brussel sprouts here. They are DIVINE. Honestly the appetizers here were amazing and much better than the entrees. Just order a bunch of small plates and appetizers to share because all of the entrees we ordered were underwhelming. The focaccia was thick than normal but I was ok with that because , duh, more bread to eat. The olive spread that was paired with it was delicious. The heirloom tomatoes were perfectly juicy and balanced nicely with the burrata. And once again the brussel sprouts were so amazing we were dipping the foccacia in the left over sauce. Great dinner experience. This restaurant is inside the Fairmont and the decor is amazing! The food itself also matched. Appetizer: focaccia bread, meatballs, and Caesar salad. The focaccia bread was so fresh and had great flavor and rise. The meatballs were moist and the marinara was delicious. The pizzas were great! I must say that my experience at Revue at The Fairmont hotel for their Sunday buffet was far from delightful. To my dismay, here are some of the reasons why I am leaving a two-star review: -Upon arriving at 9 am, the manager asked us to wait while he looked for a seat and never came back. However, a few minutes later, a wonderful hostess came by and promptly took us to our table. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor made up for the manager's lack of hospitality (and the only reason why I'm giving this two stars instead of one). -I was extremely disappointed to find my seat cushion wet upon arrival. Nevertheless, the staff were prompt in responding to my concern and changed my seat. -Despite ordering coffee, I was not given any cream (When the coffee was delivered, I was away from the table, which is why I couldn't request the cream right away). I had to look for the server to request some. -While the food was edible, it was nothing to write home about. The offerings were fairly average, featuring standard breakfast items such as scrambled eggs, waffles, and yogurt- something one might expect from a fancier Holiday Inn. -To make matters worse, our server was inattentive and non-existent. He failed to check on us or offer water or coffee refills until we asked for them. Furthermore, he held the coffee mug with his hands over the lip of the mug, leaving a stale cologne odor that ruined the coffee experience. -Dirty plates piled up on our table, and despite the server walking by several times, they were never taken away until we asked for them to be removed. -The server only checked in with us once- at the end of the meal, when he asked if we were ready to close out. It was clear that his lack of attentiveness was not due to being overworked or understaffed, as I noticed him chatting with other tables and appearing to be in no rush to assist us. -After closing out, the manager came by and asked if everything was okay. We described everything above and simply asked if there was anything he could do for us now. However, his response, "Well, I hope you come back and change your minds," was rather disappointing, considering that it was too late to change our minds. In conclusion, I would not recommend Revue at The Fairmont hotel for their Sunday buffet, as the lackluster food, inattentive service, and overall experience did not meet the expectations one would expect at a Fairmont hotel. read more

The restaurant was more of an open food court in a neon-light-heavy area deep within a nice hotel. Sat next to the water pitchers (why am I so unlucky with my seats despite having many open tables?!?), I was waited on by a very nice waiter. There were no complaints about the service, but it was much more about the food and ambience that made me feel like this place was lackluster. The menu is a smorgasbords of food from different countries, but never hitting the mark on any type of cuisine. The cavatelli and cacio e pepe was way too heavily peppered (I really prefer the cavatelli at Birdie's and cacio e pepe from Juniper), the prawns were grilled to the point of feeling burnt, and the vegetable were overly soggy. Although these sound like really harsh sentiments, it wasn't inedible. Just had nothing to really justify the price. What would have been better is if they stuck to one type of cuisine they're the best at and perfect it. I wouldn't come again, and would probably recommend hotel stayers to pick a different place. read more

During a work trip, Revue was one of the hotel restaurants. It's few and far between that you experience a really, really positive hotel restaurant (in my opinion). Sure, lots of places serve up great food... But they also serve up some really overpriced dishes. Not here at Revue! Revue is an odd mix of menu with Italian and Asian offerings. I was a little apprehensive because I feel like that's trying to reinvent the wheel a little too much instead of focusing on doing one thing really well... But they proved me wrong. Their happy hour menu for food and drinks is pretty stellar. And really, really cheap too. I'm talking like $3 beers and $6 glasses of wine, cheap. There's a lot on the happy hour menu for food that sounded great, but I saw that they had ramen on the regular menu and I couldn't be persuaded to get anything else. I went with the Shoyu and I wasn't disappointed. It came out quickly. I wasn't sure what to think when I first saw it because it didn't LOOK like much, but it really was. There's a ton of depth in the flavor of their broth and the noodles are a little on the firm side, but I liked it. Really, really solid ramen. Highly recommend if you're staying at the Fairmont or if you're just looking for a good dinner/happy hour option in the area! read more

I'm pretty impressed that a hotel restaurant in Austin can do a ramen that is fairly good. I was here with my coworkers during a conference for lunch and we ordered a few apps to share - the Brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious (a little too salty for my taste but still good) and the edamame was cooked in some sauce that was interesting. I had the shoyu ramen as my main and the broth was surprisingly very good - again a little bit too salty but I still enjoyed it. The egg was so flavorful, I wish I had gotten an extra one. The pork was ok - maybe just because I was expecting something more like pork belly and it seemed different, almost more like a ham. We came here again for brunch the next day, and they do a pretty good coffee here. I'd recommend getting the almond latte if that's your thing. I also had the yogurt parfait and the berry compote that was in it was sweet and so yummy! If I didn't want something on the lighter side though, I definitely would've tried the breakfast tacos. read more

My friends and I came here hoping for a nice bite to eat before our flight out of Austin. She was excited about getting chicken & waffles, which she said was average. My other friend got a $19 avocado toast that was lackluster -- $19?? Now we get to my meal... Honestly, my pancake and bacon were fine - no issues. However, my blueberries were moldy - which is surprisingly, considering this is housed in Fairmont Austin. I would have hoped that they checked their fruit more. Our waiter was nonexistent and it took quite a while for me to get another bowl of fruit. Surely, I thought that after pointing out the fruit was moldy they would check again before serving me another bowl...Well, I'm not sure what happened but I got another set of moldy blueberries. They both were friendly and anticipated our dining needs. The food however, was not the best for a five star hotel. My omelet was blah. I feel like it needed to be cooked a minute longer. Ended up eating at Revue five times during a 3-night stay at the Fairmont (3 breakfasts, 1 dessert, and 1 dinner). Every meal was very good, and the service by all was outstanding. I felt each of the servers went out of the way to help, even when we had some unusual requests. A few specifics - our package included a breakfast buffet, but the hotel wasn't serving a breakfast buffet during our stay, so we were allowed to order off the menu. I particularly enjoyed the ATX Benny, which came with incredible potato fingerlings. For dessert, I had the pecan pie (a la mode, of course), and it was well rendered (not too sweet, good crust). The dinner entree was not as good - I had the lasagna, which was without character, and the sauce was too tomato-ey for me. But the edamame and won ton appetizers were solid. For sure, the prices were quite high, so I wouldn't say the food was a good value. But, if you're going to eat at a hotel restaurant, I would recommend Revue for the quality and the service. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont last night and decided to eat in one of the hotel's restaurants. We are so glad we did. Our waitress, Michelle, provided excellent service. The restaurant has four cuisines in one, and every item we had was delectable. We chose the restaurant week's menu (the $35 deal can easily feed two people), and the food was remarkably fresh. Michelle explained every detail of our menu to us, which was a huge help. The happy hour deals are also spectacular. My husband and I woke up this morning still raving about our experience. The cherry on top of our meal was I had a $25 reward from Open Table, and because they were unsure how to process it, they took $25 off our meal. We will absolutely be back. read more

What a great concept for the Fairmont! Came to Revue on a Saturday evening. Beautifully decorated it's a huge space with four different food concepts in one area. Majority of plates are tapas to share between 2-3 and each plate was delish! We also had complimentary dishes from the chef to try! Cheeseboard with jams and wood fired bread -yummm Japanese pancake - interesting flavors and you'll know why with what it's topped with Pizza - thin and simple wood fired goodness Brussel sprouts - I'll eat my veggies if they're all prepared this good! Korean wings - flavorful We had a slight sloppy waitress that spilled half my drink on the table and didn't clean it up and rarely checked on us. But the food and overall ambience made up for it. The food here was incredible. I got the crispy chicken bowl and it was so great! The chicken was breaded well and the spicy sauce they provided to pour on top was very good. My wife ordered the risotto, which was also very good. It had seafood mixed in and was in a delicious cheese sauce. The food was all incredible. The downside was the service. We had a party of 11. We were told there were no spots available for us. The two hostesses were trying to send us away after we told them we didn't mind either pulling up a couple chairs or splitting up into two parties. Then, we asked to speak to a manager who was standing right by us. He also told us no tables were available, so I took the liberty to search the restaurant myself. Low and behold, an empty table that seats 10! I told the manager that we would be fine pulling up a chair, he still wouldn't budge. So I then had to proceed to tell him that we had already given lots of $$ to the hotel and would love to eat there. I told him that we were there for a wedding, the bride and groom were with us. Finally, he conceded. And, our bill was over $1K. (Our family ordered multiple drinks and bottles of wine). All that being said, this place has great food, but they almost lost out on a lot of money by trying to turn us away. Some serious management issues need to be worked out. One should not have to BEG to eat at a restaurant where there were obvious tables available. That's crazy. read more

A miniature dining hall on the first floor of the Fairmont hotel featuring different cuisines: pan-Asian, Italian, raw bar, pastries, cured meats and burgers. Seating is shared so diners can order from any of the different kitchens - a plus if your group has different dining preferences. Staff is polite, attentive and accommodating. We came in for brunch and had the option of the buffet (standard fare - eggs, sausage/bacon, breads, bagels, oatmeal, fruits) or from the menu. Since we wanted to see what the kitchen had to offer, we ordered a few things off the menu. A burrata with mixed tomatoes salad to start (this was the star of brunch). We also had the Tasso Ham and Eggs (good) and a ham and cheese crepe (ok - but not our favorite). Pricing is reflective of Revue's residency as hotel dining. They do have a champagne cart that goes around for those interested in some bubbles with brunch. I lean more towards 3 1/2 stars, but rounding it up since there are likely growing pains as the hotel ramps up operations. Willing to come back for dinner possibly to see how that is. read more

This is my new favorite happy hour. I almost don't want to tell anyone because I don't want it to be ruined, but it was simply great. It runs Monday through Friday from 5pm-7pm, so we hopped over here at around 6/6:30pm after hitting another HH. We didn't realize it was basically a hotel restaurant, but it's apparently a GREAT hotel restaurant. It reminded me of a Las Vegas buffet, only you're ordering a la carte from the different stations around you. We sat at the bar and had excellent service from Alexis. Beers and select cocktails were half off, so we had a couple $3.50 craft beers and my friend had a $6.50 cocktail. For food, we got the margherita pizza ($6.50), chili wontons ($5.50), and blistered edamame ($3.50). The prices are just amazing for how much you get. I'll 100% be going back to get this great pizza, and the edamame portion was just overflowing. There's a few other food items I'll definitely be trying when I return as well. So many places around town do happy hour on just drinks, so I'm always looking for a food option, too. Revue kicked ass in price and quality. $31 for two people before tip for all that! read more

From start to finish my family really enjoyed our dinner at Revue. The atmosphere and ambiance really hit the mark for us and didn't make you feel like you were in a restaurant hotel (which sometimes can be iffy at best). Their menu is half Italian, half Asian inspired and I just wish my family ordered a little of both...we were seated next to the Asian inspired kitchen and all I wanted to do was change my order! The aroma that filled the air was to die for. In any event, we started with the Polpettini which were juicy, flavorful and the polenta that was paired with it was smooth and creamy. We also got the focaccia bread which was more than enough to share and delightfully fluffy. I'm the only one who cared for the olive spread but then again I'm the only one who enjoys olives. For our mains my husband got the pea and asparagus risotto which was super creamy and packed full of flavor (the bacon also gave it a nice crunch!) and I got the cacio e pepe which was super peppery but cooked al dente. It was a touch salty but that is par for the course when using parmesan. We didn't opt for dessert since we didn't have time but we did opt for drinks and both my husbands drink and mine were well balanced and refreshing. I would recommend Revue for a nice night out (perfect for a date night) and definitely make sure we make plans to revisit on our next trip to Austin! read more

Leaving this review for the restaurant's management and the Fairmont, as our experience was everything opposite of what the Fairmont customer experience represents - "...Fairmont Austin's service professionals await the opportunity to ensure your expectations are exceeded and your time in the Texas Hill Country is unforgettable." We walked into Revue Fairmont Austin for breakfast 20min before breakfast ended. Practically empty with three servers on staff covering two tables plus ours. After being seated at our table, we were not informed of the breakfast buffet still being available. The menus were dropped on our table without any additional explanation. The first server brought us water and orange juice, but this was at least 10-15min into the experience. Unresponsive, inattentive service was the theme throughout our experience. The second server took our order, neglected to ask how we are wanted our eggs and whether we wanted pork/chicken sausage or bacon. I walked over to the server to provide our meal preferences after he already submitted our order in the system. We also proactively asked for toast on the side. The menus were left on our table as well. 10-15min our food arrived to the table. The toast was missing from our order, and our water glasses remained empty throughput the entire experience. We asked a third server for toast, however nothing arrived as a result. We then asked our first server for toast, and she happily followed through in bringing one order of toast. Checkout was extremely uncomfortable. Does anyone else dread leaving a tip for a server in real-time on a device while they're over your shoulder? My wife felt pressured into leaving a tip, despite feeling as if $0.00 was earned. Also, if you're going to have a standard preseleted tip amout starting at 18%, how about we work on providing an 18% minimum guest experience. All in all, care in providing a memorable guest service was indifferent to negative. Given Revue is situated within the Fairmont, we hope the Fairmont takes an interest in our review.
