Great choice not only was their service impeccable thanks Dayami she was absolutely fabulous the hot dog and french fries, something I do t always eat, were flavorful, substantial and most of all not greasy. The place was very clean, food came out in a reasonable Time and temperature appropriate. This was a great choice and just all around enjoyable experience on the rush. If I'm ever back at Austin Airport I will definitely be a return customer and will look For Dayami expecting she would have promoted to manager. TOFB you have a very valued employ there. I have been working at the airport as a massage therapist. I normally bring my lunch, but one day I didn't have time to prepare anything. Everyone knows that airports have notoriously high prices. One of my coworkers told me that Thurman's offers a child's meal for $5.99. It includes a burger and large steak fries . That sounded good to me...both the meal and the price! I had to give it a try.! The cashier called my name, and the 1/4 burger and steak fries were ready quickly and served hot. It didn't seem like a kid's meal; it was a nice portion. I had a short time in Austin before my next flight home to Indy from the holidays, and needed a bite to eat, so I decided to go to Thurman's Old Fashioned Burger place to get get something to eat. I went to the kiosk menu and everything looked good, but wanted something simple, so I decided to just get the three piece chicken tenders with fries and a Starry to drink. My order was ready to pick up within a few minutes after I placed the order on the kiosk. The chicken tenders and fries were excellent and very fresh off the grill. It tasted perfect and comforting in my belly. For something quick and on the go, this was the perfect meal. Thurman's looks like a great burger place, and I'm sure the burgers are wonderful, but cannot speak to them since I did not have one. First things first: this burger was massive and so were the fries that came with it. However, the fries were very grainy and I could only eat a few before I got tired of them. The burger itself was edible but just tasted low quality. I've never said this about a burger but the meat to bun ratio was too high, it tasted too meaty but not in a good way. The ingredients in the burger were more fresh than a fast food burger, but I think I would've enjoyed a fast food burger more. read more

Customer service needs to be reviewed because there was a very rude person at the desk! She failed to acknowledge me as I approached her direction, so I went to the self-checkout kiosk instead. When I went to clarify an item on it she acted very ignorantly. Ordered two hots dogs no ketchup on site the girl at counter was not ready to work since she said was sent to cover someone else's shift. That's everywhere you go in the world, with the only variance being just how much that food is overpriced. I needed a quick means of refueling before a flight and decided to give Thurman's a go. I settled on the 1/2 lb Signature Cheeseburger as it looked appealing despite the price ($17 with fries, $19 if you get a fountain drink-what a bargain!). My sandwich came out hot and delivered promptly by the friendly staff. The burger was cooked beyond my preferred medium rare but that's about par for the course in these E. coli phobic times. The meat was not too far gone and I actually found it fairly tasty. Fries were my definitely my type-thick wedges of Idaho goodness fried crispy and not overseasoned. It was better than I expected and better than some of the other outlets I've tried in the Austin airport. The one ding against this location is the shameful lack of customer seating for it and its neighbors (the market, the pizza joint and Fly-Rite chicken). I wouldn't drive across town to eat here but if you're at the airport and are hungry, this is a decent choice. read more

As with any airport food, this place is over priced so I won't knock that against them. The burger however, is dry and over cooked (look at the photo). It also has no sauce on it.
