Beyond expectation! I try not to give out too many 5 stars but this place deserves it! I was in the area for pasta and decided to try 19seventy. I was super shocked when I arrived. The front door and the interior is so aesthetically pleasing. The staffs were super friendly. I got the charcuterie ($18) and baked rigatoni ($20). Sadly I don't drink alcohol but i'm sure it's super good here. We had Jorge as a server and he's so polite and always checked on us. Jorge is probably the best waiter I ever experienced. Lucky for the business to have him. Food tasted amazing as well. The cheese on my pasta was extremely stretchy!! You know it's good quality ingredients. Considering the atmosphere, service, and exceptional food, I'm shocked that the price isn't high. I would pay $30 for that charcuterie and like $25-$30 for that pasta based on the quality of food and cause of jorge. Mind blown how good this place was. read more

Service is super friendly and they don't make you feel rushed, they have a delicious dish that they serve tableside where they make it right in front of you; the short rib dinner for two. It looked good but we didn't order it! lol First, we tried a few drinks, we got the spritz flight which had three separate spritzes one with lemon cello and Midori one with St. Germain and one that looks pink and had a strawberry in it and I'm not sure what else was in it ! But they were good, not too sweet, and a little tart. Mom had a glass of Argentinian red blend wine, and it was quite nice, and I had the summer special. It was a vodka-based drink with some St. Germain, mint and honey in it, and it was quite good. For appetizer, we had the bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes, red, yellow, and orange, and a delicious crunchy garlic bread. It was so good! For dinner, we ordered the pistachio, crusted, salmon, and the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. The fettuccine is perfect, not too al dente and not too soggy, and the shrimp were quite large, with a good flavor. The salmon was beautiful! Pistachio and crusted, beautiful rice pilaf, and little Parmesan sprinkles. Very delicious.!!! The service here is excellent! Hey now! Hey nowwwww! This is what cheese dreams are made of (In Hilary Duff singing voice)! Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and was pleasantly impressed by this location. Clean, not too busy, has a parking lot, great food and drinks and most importantly A CHEESE WHEEL! The food was delicious. I got the pasta with beef and it was delightful. I always love this place, especially for the cheese wheel pasta. Came here again with coworkers and they loved the lasagna just as much. The meatballs are always a hit. Service was great, per usual. Having frequented 19Seventy several times there are qualities that keep us coming back for more, and then there are a couple issues that make us say, "we should reconsider coming back here." Some of the restaurant highlights: Spectacle - the pappardelle with braised beef is prepared table side in a huge imported cheese wheel, and makes for a stellar performance, particularly if you're celebrating a special occasion. Pasta is made in-house and makes for a solid, shareable meal for two people. The specialty drink menu offers visually appealing cocktails like the "Il Padrino" and "Spiriti Flight" that I observed being served at nearby tables and they do yield smiles and laughter due to their presentation and alchemy. Menu offerings - the rosemary wings are incredibly tasty. They have a crisp texture and taste herbaceous, tangy, and slightly sweet. The brunch menu is great, and offers breakfast staples like French toast, chilaquiles and avocado toast, coupled with a nice Mimosa selection. Menu lists an impressive wine selection that's been rotated at least once in the last year. Service is exceptional. Wait staff and reception are incredibly friendly. Bartender is interesting and extremely knowledgeable. Now for the lowlights. We have ordered the Wagyu meatball toast appetizer at least twice and the meatballs are always cold. When I bite into them it's the worst sensation to bite into room temperature meat. It appears they're microwaved and turn cold in the time between the kitchen and the table. I would avoid at all costs. I have come to find that the wine pours are incredibly short. For the commanding prices, I don't think you're getting 6 ounces, it's probably more like 4 to 5 ounces, which makes each glass super overpriced. Although tasty, the restaurant charges for sourdough bread which is a little off putting. I know it's pricey to offer complimentary bread to every table but charging for it at an Italian restaurant feels wrong. Overall, the restaurant entree and drink prices are a bit steep, closer to steak house prices. I don't know the quality of the meat and the price it should reasonably warrant, but a steak will run you at least $69 and there's no description as to the meat's origins on the menu. Happy Hour is definitely an opportunity to overlook the pricing and enjoy the food at a reduced cost but overall, for me, 19Seventy should be limited to celebratory occasions as opposed to a family dinner on a weekday (contrary to the former vibe at the original Lascari's). Despite the lowlights I continue to return for the highlights, mainly the rosemary wings. 4 solid stars! read more

A day saver! We stumbled upon this place after a disastrous experience at the original place that my husband had planned for Mother's Day. We wanted to head back west towards our house but wanted to drop by a place for a late do over lunch (we're talking 3PM!). We called and asked if they could accommodate a table for 3, they were happy to take us! When we came , the parking lot was still pretty full but we totally lucked out because someone had just left and we took a spot right out front. This was a good sign! Sometimes life works in mysterious ways! The interior was tastefully designed and I love their doors - you wouldn't know it's a door when it's closed. We were greeted immediately, there were a couple of parties ahead of us so the hostess was trying to figure out where to place everyone. They had a beautiful display of desserts that we got to look over and plan ahead for after our lunch. Our hostess took us to our table and said that our waiter would be right with us and within 2 minutes our waiter came by and introduced himself and handed us our menus and told us about their specials for the day. The food was delicious , service was prompt but nonintrusive, and drinks were awesome! We had the following: Caesar Salad: 5/5 Minestrone soup: 5/5 Salmon Piccata: 5/5 Filet Mignon : 5/5 Farmer's Sampler Plate of Vegetables: 4/5 (It came sprinkled with alot of cheese and I think we would liked for it to be on the side) My daughter had their kid's cheeseburger and it was huge but she said it was good! : 5/5 Garlic Bread: 4/5 ( I wasn't crazy about dipping marinara sauce that came with it) The Mr. got their affogato dessert 5/5 My daughter got their chocolate brownie: 5/5 My dessert was such a treat because that day they had spumoni ice cream as their special that (my husband had asked the hostess on the side when we were checking in to find out if they served spumoni)! My favorite (you don't see it alot anywhere, and when you do it's often neapolitan ice cream and not spumoni. Spumoni has chocolate, pastachio and cherry ice cream. Neapolitan is chocolate, vanillas and strawberry for those who are wondering about the differences). Overall it was just such a great meal and this place saved us from an otherwise disappointing experience that we encountered from another establishment that we left! Just finished dinner for our anniversary and it was a great experience. From the moment we were greeted to paying our check. The decor and ambiance is absolutely stunning and modern. Beautiful and unexpected compared to the original Lascaris. Jessi/jessica was our server and she was great checking on us and making our dinner special. She had the perfect recommendations and like I said really made our anniversary special. Our water glasses were never empty. Finally the food...we started with the calamari, perfectly battered and crispy without tough or chewy pieces. My husband had the minestrone and said it was delicious. We had a side of wagyu meatball and it was great but could've passed, the marinara sauce was delicious on its own. The complimentary bread and herb butter perfect. Our entrees were delicious and well portioned. Finished off our meal with the complimentary cannoli and it was the sweetest touch! I really love this restaurant. I've been twice now. Once ordering off the brunch menu and once ordering off the regular menu. During brunch you can order off of either menu. It's a beautiful restaurant with upscale cuisine both in flavor and presentation. For brunch I had the short rib eggs Benedict which was fantastic. The short rib here is melt in your mouth tender and loaded with flavor. It was also served on a croissant which took it to the next level. My wife ordered the spicy frittata but they gave her the vegetarian one. It was so boring and the waiter was totally confused that they had two types. After getting the correct one it was worth the hassle. Delicious and I would highly recommend. Lunch was epic. We did the table side short rib pappardelle. It's prepared at your table in a 90 pound Parmesan wheel and using house-made pasta. I assumed it would be gimmicky but I was wrong. Literally one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Fried mozzarella is great here but the bruschetta is the worst I have ever had. Delicious heirloom tomatoes ruined by burnt to a crisp bread that was so stingy we had to eat the tomatoes with a fork. Cocktails are presented artistically with smoke filled Domes, beautiful garnishes, and even smoke filled bubbles. Very creative and unique at a very reasonable price. I've had the Melontini and Daddy's little secret. Both equally wonderful and beautiful to look at. Desserts look nice but so far have been really bad. Tiramisu was a liquidy flavorless mush and the cannoli was hard as a rock. Biggest negative is the acoustics. I have never been in a louder space before. We were seated next to a bridal shower that was so loud it physically hurt our ear drums. It was so bad two tables near us left. Previous time was just regular diners but was equally loud. They need to do something about this since it's a common complaint on reviews. They also push people to write yelp reviews while they watch for a discount which is why there's so many one sentence reviews. I am writing this at home! The positives heavily outweigh the negatives so I 100% recommend you give this place a shot. read more

Stopped by for a Sunday birthday dinner with my family. This restaurant was really great. There is a lot of seating, nicely decorated. All of the staff were excellent, very attentive, patient, willing to attend to our needs. The food was great. My brother and I prefer chewy and almost crispy breaded calamari, 19seventy's calamari was incredibly soft, had a thinner breading yet it was so delicious that it exceeded my taste bud's expectations. I would order again. Short rib parpadelle was soft, juicy, delicious pairs well with the parpadelle. Chicken Marsala chicken was soft and tasty. Dined here for a late birthday dinner with my family. My mom and I were excited to try the table side Short Rib Pappardelle, but honestly-I felt the flavor was lacking and the short rib was very tender and had a bit of sweetness to it which was ok, but the all the flavors together just didn't pair well with me. It was a bit heavier than I expected, just my opinion. The Seafood Cioppino had a very creamy sauce which I actually preferred over the pappardelle dish. We also ordered truffle fries and calamari, calamari was delicious, but the fries were a bit underwhelming. My mom and I each got a different cocktail, she ordered a traditional negroni and I tried the Kiwi breeze. Both drinks were pretty good and the Kiwi Breeze came out with a fantastic presentation, wish I took a video of it. Overall, the interior decor is very clean and modern and service was excellent. Where do I begin... I would recommend you to order takeout so that when I come here I won't have to wait to dine in because once people start finding out about this place it's game over. I just want to shout Jorge out for the most amazing service. Started off the dinner with a Wagyu Meatball appetizer and wow an easy 5/5. Ordered a Melontini and I'd definitely order it again, easy 4/5 I'd recommend. Onto the mains: Summer Pesto Ravioli Okay this dish was good but I don't think I will order it again. Taste 5/5 but I know there is definitely something else on the menu that would catch my attention when I come here again. Nice light pesto sauce with ricotta and mozzarella filled ravioli, and you can just taste that basil I believe there were only 6 or so raviolis but they're a good size, definitely will get you feeling good if you've had an appetizer. Next onto the Rigatoni a La Vodka with added shrimp Absolutely fire 5/5 would definitely order again and I would highly recommend even if you don't add shrimp. Too bad I probably won't have it for a while since I'll be attempting to cross off the whole menu at some point, so I'll have to make it back to this dish eventually. Desserts were a cannoli which seemed to be half pistachio and half chocolate? I'm not too sure but it was bomb, 5/5 as well as the pistachio creme brûlée. Although the creme brûlée wasn't really pistachio at least from what I could taste it might've just been the toppings that were pistachio. Still a great pick, can never go wrong with creme brûlée. Found a really nice place called 19seventy (a Lascari's company). Located in a town where the girls are prettier, I called it Whittier. 19seventy is known for their delicious Italian food. I walked inside the building and was greeted and then seated right away. Drink: Summer in Italy (Organic Vokda, Sweet Vermouth, Campari, Lemon, Rosemary Syrup, and Orange Juice). Very nice presentation. Taste sooo delicious. It's like summer time with great fruity taste. Heavenly good. App: Wagyu Meatball and Toast. Very unique app I've seen in awhile now. Great presentation. Meatball on toast is a great combination. Different than any other toast I've had. So good!!!! Entree: Lasagna!!!! Another tasty dish top with butter which is pretty rare in my book. I must say it's also delicious. Not too much to say though. Dessert: Dining experience is never completed without a nice delicious Tiramisu. Served in a glass. Delightful and delicious. First things first lol I realized this used to be Lascari's. Called in advances to make reservations for a large party as it was for a birthday celebration. I seen a review that mentioned a charge for the booking of large parties and I can confirm this is correct. Anything over 9 people from my understanding is a charge of 100 or more depending on the amount of guests. I left my 100 deposit for about 14 or 15 people. When we arrived we were seated pretty quickly for it being a Friday night I expected it to be a lot more packed but it was good that it was not overly crowded. We sat in a long booth in the back by the bar area. It is very beautiful inside the decor is fabulous. So to start they do serve free bread and butter. It was sooooo good BUT here is a catch that I did not like. If you want more bread and butter they charge you; now, it's not extreme it's $5 for each addition bread and butter you ask for. That's fine we don't mind paying BUT what I did not appreciate was no one explaining that or at least saying hey I can bring you more bread & butter just know it will be an extra charge. We didn't find that out until the bill came. We did enjoy the appetizers we ordered the calamari, fried mozzarella, and a charcuterie board. All of wish I highly recommend & would eat again. A few people ordered the short rib & pappardelle which let me say that short rib was amazingly delicious BUT the pasta was a bit sweet for everyone's liking. My plate was a hit and personally it was 20/10 for me it was delicious, I ordered the rigatoni a la vodka and added shrimp. I also very much enjoyed their lemons drops and cucumber martini, others had the espresso martini, melontini, and frutti de bosco and there were no complaints regarding our beverages. Now the bill, it was interesting because the deposit you leave for the reservation goes towards the bill. When we first received our bill it was about 675 bucks, we thought that was pretty good for all of us. But then I realized my credit was not added I let the server know and then eventually had to speak with a manager. They figured it out BUT it was kind of weird how it all happened apparently our first check did not have gratuity included, but the second check now had gratuity included and my deposit and came back as the same amount. Everyone thought that was a little bit weird but didn't want to make a fuss about it because by the time everything was figured out it was time for them to close and we just wanted to go home. Ordered 2 meatballs and the carbonara from the brunch menu. Meatballs were good, not too soft and seasoned well. Carbonara was not really as described. I think they went for a regular carbonara take instead as described on the menu, no poached egg and cream sauce but rather egg incorporated into the sauce. However, there were red onions which were a bit off putting plus the eggs were scrambled. They were nice to remake without onions but eggs came out scrambled and I dont think they use enough cheese, was a bit bland without the bacon. Pasta itself was great. Overall, service was good but I'll probably try a different pasta or pizza next time. read more

We went for my friends birthday and ordered the short rib table side which was delicious. I subtracted a star because I saw they were burning rum for the sauce. My friend is pregnant and I asked to make sure all the alcohol would burn off due to her being pregnant. The guy said yes, but when she tasted it, it was so strong. The portion was large and we ended up switching plates. Her plate was served first which all raw the rum taste in it. I also asked for pepper and they pre packaged pepper on the side instead of fresh cracked pepper which was also weird for italian place. The other entrees were ok, but noting to rave about. I would honestly come here just for the appetizers as they were all so good! We got the burger because we also wanted truffle fries but they weren't listed on the menu as a side. the fries were good but the truffle profile was nonexistent, little disappointing but hey, life goes on. Salmon orzo was nice and flavorful. The fish wasn't overdone and pasta wasn't mush. Overall I would come back to try the short rib pasta, which every other table was getting. Since this restaurant changed my family has never tired it until recently. The menu is limited but has a lot of great options. We opted for the spaghetti and meatballs and a pizza to share. Both were amazing. I'm not a huge spaghetti and meatball fan but these would definitely have me coming back. The service was good and everyone was polite with the exception of the hostess. We had two drinks from the bar and both were made extremely well. I am a larger gal so I have to say the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. The restaurant wasn't super busy and not sure how I would feel if it was busy as the table and chairs are very close together. I would definitely check out the bar area next time it looks to have a more relaxed atmosphere. read more

I did not know when Lascari's turned into 19Seventy. I am glad I came to this restaurant. I never liked the food at Lascari's. 19Seventy has elevated the Italian food. The friendly waitress told me that all of the pastas are made in house. Yummy cioppino pasta with fresh seafood that is perfectly cooked. Tomato sauce was flavorful without being too light or too heavy. The salmon piccata has a wonderful creamy lemon sauce. It's rare to find a piccata sauce better than the one I cook at home, but here it is! The garlic bread was amazingly soft and delicious. Even the complimentary sour dough rolls seemed home made. I attended a wine tasting featuring Austin Hope wines. It was such a treat to enjoy Paso Robles wine in Whittier. The pours were generous, the charcuterie was nicely presented, and the wines were offered at a great price point. I would have also liked the option to taste (and purchase) at least one higher price point wine. The staff were friendly and attentive, and truly seemed to care about providing a great experience. Unfortunately, the noise level was so high my guest and I had to shout to hear each other. There was a live singer with a great song selection, but it made it difficult to have conversation. I'd recommend lowering the volume or designating a quieter area during tastings to better allow conversation over the meal and appreciation of the wines. read more

Got to say I was very disappointed with my experience this past Sunday. I called days before to make a reservation and they agreed that they had availability. We were sat immediately, but we started to notice issues when the large table before us wasn't getting their food either. We put drinks in and apps which came fairly quick, however it was 2 hours since we were sat and we still had not received all of our food. My mom got her sandwich and my niece her breakfast pizza but we were still missing all of our food for 4 other people. After we reached hour 2 I got up and cancelled our order. To poor salt in the wound, the server didn't comp anything or give an explanation or bother to earn our business back but instead charged us for everything and we had to get fast food. Not even a free beer at least! As we sat there, the manager kept sitting people and trying to fill seats when they had no way to even provide these people with food and even though wait times were at 2 hours - really just shows that $$$ is number 1 priority and that service and the customer is not. I think they should have prepared better for the volume and they could have at least tried to make things right with us. read more

Good location with good parking. Interior is so cute with that mid century modern theme. There's a main dining area and a back area with a bar. Spacious enough but if busy, you'll be seated close to everyone and it gets quite chattery. I came with a friend and we could just barely hear ourselves when conversing over supper din. I didn't get to take as many photos during this visit. Unfortunately, I had not been quite hungry when I arrived so I was not able to sample of variety of options off their menu, but my friend did get the spaghetti with Wagyu meatballs, which she said was pretty good and well flavored. I ordered this one as takeout for my brother who also agreed. They brought the pasta out really quickly and the herbs and sauce seemed very fresh. A lot of people ordered the short rib pappardelle, which is prepared table side right there for you. They pour this flambé into a cheese bowl to blend the sauce and then mix in the pasta , topped with the ribs. Serves 2 (no single person portion). I'd like to try this next time. They have a lot of interesting cocktail options. The Spiriti is cute and fun - literally 3 different cocktails in test tubes on a rack. Sweet and tasty. I later got the chef's crudo hamachi drenched in citrus, Fried Capers, Olives, Shishito, Calabrian Peppers. Hamachi was fresh but honestly, I was a little disappointed because the citrus seemed to overpower everything. I wouldn't recommend this one. I ordered the pistachio creme brûlée but it was made poorly. The creme brûlée was NOT sweet enough and it was too "dry". Creme brûlée should have that light delicate flan like texture. TL;DR The technique on the cook of the food is perfect. The ingredients are very fresh. The pasta sauce is so addicting and flavorful. The staff is super attentive and the ambiance is minimalistic and homey. Ambiance: The ambiance is modern and minimalistic. There's a bakery near the front entrance which makes it look more homey. There's colorful paintings and flowers at every table. Service: The service was so sweet, especially when I came before the dinner rush. They were very attentive. Even after the rush, my server refilled my water when it was low, and made sure I fully enjoyed my food and experience. Food: The food was amazing. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and the Prosciutto Arugula Pizza with tomato sauce. The chicken was seasoned throughout and the meat was super tender. This place was so SO good! Everyone from the host to the waitstaff to the cashiers were so nice, welcoming, and friendly. Everything was very clean, upbeat, and fancy without being pretentious about it. But the best part? The food! We had the fried mozzarella, truffle fries, chicken penne pesto, and shrimp alfredo pasta. All of it was delicious! Seriously, there wasn't a single thing we didn't like. Stopped by this spot for some brunch. Parking is very limited, so be prepared to park on the street and walk. Facility had a very cool, spacious aesthetic, but does get loud to the crowds coming in. Ordered items from their breakfast as well as their lunch menu. My friend and I opted for their Cannoli Pistachio Waffle, Pepperoni Pizza, Limoncello Tiramisu French Toast, Tiramisu, and Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte. Everyone was absolutely delicious. Only comment I have is on their Tiramisu. Their Tiramisu was lacking that expresso flavor and had just way too much cream, but to each their own. I have been seeing ads for this place on Instagram. We came on a Tuesday night and were sat right away for a party of 2. We decided to order the fried mozzarella and overall it was good. The breading isn't crunchy, it's a soft breadcrumb texture that falls apart if you do not eat it in one bite. The meatballs were delicious, they o may give you 2 in the spaghetti serving. The baked rigatoni was good-sauce is on the thinner side and I had a lemon seed inside the Italian sausage. The sausages were made in house so I understand how something like that happened. I saved the seed and let our server know about it. Luckily, it didn't cause any damage and they gave us a cannoli on the house for the issue. We do want to come back to share the short rib pasta dish they make. We saw two tables order it and it looked delicious! read more
