From my initial telephone contact with Karey and our video walk through with Jon I was very impressed. Likewise, I was very pleased with the initial cost estimate that was provided to us. We did our due diligence and obtained two other estimates, both higher than the one from Prince. In fact, one was twice as high. We were a bit concerned about the great disparity. However, having been impressed with Karey and Jon and reading about the fundamental principles of their business we elected to go with Prince. I cannot say enough about the crew that handled our move. They called ahead of time to advise they were on the way - and on time ! Carlo, the team leader, was polite, responsive to our requests, flexible to add on a few things we needed to move, and his supervision of the other three members of the crew : Omar, Jeff and Mario. The care that the entire crew gave to our furniture, including some large, heavy wood pieces with glass shelves and doors, was extraordinary. The move was handled efficiently, effectively and expeditiously. Nothing was damaged ! The crew was great in moving things around to get them in the correct location. We were very pleased ! I must point out that this move was so well handled from initial contact to the crew departing our new home And it was accomplished UNDER BUDGET !! Kudos to the entire Prince team. We are grateful. They didn't waste any time and communicated every step of the way. Frankly, they made the IMPOSSIBLE very possible. I am amazed at how efficient they are. Moving is a very stressful endeavor a month out just getting things ready and they made it seamless. Quick, efficient and under budget... yes, under my budget. I won't name names of other movers I've used and paid 30% more for less results. I have a 15 monitor work station that I am very hesitant about anyone touching let alone moving, but these guys handled it like a breeze, especially during a rainy day on top of everything else. I don't usually write reviews, but when a company EXCEEDS my expectations, it's a duty to let others KNOW. I would want the same as well, especially with so many moving companies out there and nightmare stories. These guys are LEGIT and DESERVE their reputation as a TOP PLAYER in the moving business. So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

Having used NewRay for my August 2025 move with excellent results (see my earlier review), I went…read moreback to them when circumstances prompted me to move again in February 2026. Both moves were transfers within my apartment building. In response to my request to get the same team if possible, the new three-person team had the same foreman as the previous three-person team. They once again did an excellent job - called in advance, arrived early, and worked very quickly and efficiently. The foreman planned well which items should be moved between the two apartments in each trip to minimize the number of trips and the work time. The team members were both friendly and professional. As with my previous move, the cost of the job came in well under the estimate due to the team's speedy work. My two experiences with NewRay have been a refreshing contrast to my experiences with other movers over the years. I plan to continue to use them for any future moves.

We opted to receive their services with a truck and it was a great decision. They were on time ( actually a little early) and helped move stuff from 2 diff locations into our new place. Mike came with 2 other guys who didn't speak much English ( but Mike did). They worked so so hard, I was very impressed honestly. They didn't take random breaks and this work is back-breaking honestly. We provided tons of cold water and pizza for lunch to make sure they were fueled enough. They were super, super careful about everything they moved, very professional, courteous, places stuff where we asked them to and were generally nice and smiling throughout the process. They took care and time when moving - took them 10.5 hours to get the job done. I'd highly recommend them for anyone wanting to move honestly. I have zero complains or notes. They are very reasonably priced in my opinion and excellent value for money, given how much effort this job takes. After a 3 hour drive, they were able to offload everything once again in a timely manner. Their pricing was very competitive, and everyone was very nice and friendly. They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.

We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

Then he was so professional that he flipped us (and other drivers) off as he sped by. If that's how he drives, I don't want him anywhere near my personal property. I live in NoVA and will NEVER use or recommend this company. Hire better people.

Scheduling this company and receiving a quote that was SPOT on, was amazing. The communication from Ana was perfect. She kept me in the loop about arrival time, send out a confirmation about my booking, and even helped me change my original date to something sooner. Originally, I was quoted a timeframe between 1-5pm, they showed up an hour EARLIER! To some this may have been the part where you panic, especially if you are running small items back and forth to your new place, to me?? This was PERFECT, because I was able to have a headstart for my long moving day. The truck was large enough, both movers came in and were polite, patient, and did not make me feel uncomfortable when handling my items. They wrapped all dressers, tv stands, coffee tables, and TVs and ensured everything was delivered carefully. No frills, no stalling for extra time (you do get charged hourly if you exceed your allowed time), and just straight to business. They directed me to get back in my car and drive around the back. The guy tested each piece and weighed it. Then gave me a receipt and I went into a small room with an ATM and directions. Absolutely the Best Moving Experience I've Ever Had! I cannot say enough great things about ZMax Movers! From start to finish, the entire crew was professional, prompt, and incredibly efficient. They moved quickly but never once compromised on care--they treated my belongings like their own, and everything arrived in perfect condition. What really impressed me was their attention to service even after the move was done. I couldn't find a few items and thought they might still be on the truck. The team lead pulled over immediately, double-checked the entire truck, and was even ready to turn around and help me look for them if needed. That kind of follow-through is rare and says everything about their integrity. On top of that, the owner personally called to check in before the crew left to make sure everything met my expectations. It absolutely did--and then some. This was hands down the nicest and most reliable moving crew I've ever worked with. I was so overwhelmed with this last move: selling and buying a home with about 1 day to initially move in. Max was the first and most responsive owner to contact me back. Move on a Sunday? No problem! Need to move a heavy one piece of furniture too heavy for two guys? No problem, call for backup! Due to staging and general packout, I also had two storage PODS to unload a few days later. Zmax helped me out with those as well! I was impressed with his general knowledge of moving; even helped us align the huge rental truck we found hard to maneuver! Now on his fourth day of moving services with us, he's almost like family. Even my very picky Max brought extra moving supplies and moving blankets, tape, etc and helped us protect our items even better than what we had already packed them. His rates were incredibly fair and his team very efficient. Max was careful about not damaging either home, we couldn't see a single scratch or scuff after they left. Even my very picky and perfectionist mom was impressed. Zmax will definitely be my go-to mover and the one I recommend to all my friends and family. read more

Max + company just recently helped me with a move and I couldn't be more pleased for several reasons: 1. Price + Value: I researched and reached out to several moving companies and ZMax was by far the most reasonable 2. Responsive: He was quick to respond to my inquiry and was very responsive. I was traveling abroad at the time I was trying to arrange my move and had some hiccups with scheduling due to miscommunications with my apartment buildings but Max was patient and was able to make it work. 3. Professional: They called me to let me know when they were on their way and arrived exactly on time and wrapped/tapped every single piece of furniture, including mattresses at no additional cost The move ended up taking longer than I had planned, but that was partially due to the fact that my old unit was on the 16th floor and the freight elevator and loading dock was on the opposite end - so going up and down and to and from was a journey in it itself. Disappointing Moving Service - Unprofessional and Damaging I had a very frustrating experience with this moving service. They arrived three hours late, which was already a red flag. The movers seemed overworked and didn't have the proper equipment for the job. To make matters worse, they broke some of my furniture--damage that could've been easily avoided with better care. In order to make up for being late they offered an additional mover to help, but then tried to charge me extra at the end for this "third person" without prior agreement. On top of everything, the owner/manager was incredibly unhelpful and didn't apologize for the situation. Instead, when I raised my concerns, his response was simply, "What do you want me to do?" Communication was poor throughout the entire process, and it felt like they were rushing to finish the job rather than handling my belongings with care. The whole experience was extremely stressful, and the damage they caused, coupled with the lack of professionalism, left me thoroughly disappointed. I ran my due diligence prior to choosing a mover. There are obviously a lot of other movers out there; however these guys are the best in my opinion being a value guy. For the following reason: 1) Price: These guys had the best price on the market 2) Moving: They wrap everything to make sure it won't be damaged or to make sure it won't fall apart. 3) Timing: Showed up earlier than expected to get things done. I needed my things moved at 9pm (since I had work earlier) and these guys showed courtesy accommodating our move. If you decide to run your own diligence process, you'll see that a lot of movers stop moving at 6pm or so. 4) Process: The loading dock at our new place was locked however these guys were creative and moved through another door despite the extra trouble. 5) Results: Everything done in 3 hours, no damaged or missing goods, and I'm a happy customer. What more do you need? If you're looking for a mover, contact these guys NOW before they get booked. Max and Max are fantastic! We've never hired movers before due to having friends to help and not being able to afford it but this time we didn't have anyone and I was unable to help my husband because I had to watch our little children. I almost gave up hope of finding anyone affordable after calling so many places and getting crazy quotes. Seriously, 1k for a 800sqft house moving 10 miles away with all the packing pre done by us? No way! I was so grateful when Max told me his rates and it was actually something we could afford. Then on moving day these men were BEASTS! They moved everything from our old place to our new place faster than I thought possible. Seriously, it's amazing how quickly everything was done which not only makes them even more affordable (they didn't drag out the work to charge more) but also made it so we could start getting things unpacked asap which is a must with an infant and a toddler with all of the stuff they need. ZMax Movers moved me from DC to Baltimore and made the process stress free! First, I called and Max picked up the phone promptly. He helped me find a date and time that worked, reviewed the pricing and promised to call me the day before. Guess what? Max actually called the day before! Day of: He ran a bit late, but sent a text and called to give me updates on his eta. When Max and his partner arrived they were all business. They got to work promptly. I've worked with other companies and you feel like you have to monitor the movers, make sure they aren't in the truck taking selfies or smoking a cigarette to increase their rates. Not with ZMax. They wrapped each of my items carefully, disassembled two couches, moved HEAVY boxes and never seemed to be out of breath! We then drove to Baltimore and arrived within minutes of one another. Again Max and his partner got to work and had me all moved in from start to finish in 3.5 hours, with an hour commute to Baltimore! If you are moving ZMax is your choice, no question. read more

ZMax Movers had the best pricing in the area for movers - hands down! The pricing was straight forward and they did not charge hidden fees or have a price list for "extra" items. Shrink wrap and tape were included in the total move price as were covers for all furniture. Max and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently. I only had a one bedroom apartment but it was on the third floor (moving to another third floor condo with a loft) and they really worked tirelessly to wrap everything, make sure all items were secure and drop off was great. I had my carpets steamed the day before and Max was vigilant about putting floor covers to minimize any foot treads. I was dreading having movers but the experience was really hassle-free. Honestly they have THE BEST pricing and were super fair. For 3 hours door to door the cost was less than $300 for two guys with a 17 foot truck and taking care to cover everything - GREAT WORK! After going over local movers, I opted with ZMax. I immediately noticed that ZMax had excellent reviews. I was right. My initial contact with Max was very cordial. Max and his crew contacted me prior to their arrival. They arrived on-time and inquired about what items I was moving. They reviewed my belongings and began wrapping all of my furniture and expensive items. This immediately impressed me! They worked very carefully packing up all of my belongings I moved from one part of Alexandria to a new Alexandria location. The move took several hours, as my new residence was within a condo and the use of an elevator had to be used. Not as simple as moving from my house. The rates were reasonable and the crew was very professional. I commented to Max, earlier during the packaging, that I was very impressed with their attention to detail. ZMax Movers is fantastic! Max and Vlad arrived on time and provided a call ahead with an ETA. They started immediately and worked efficiently through the entire move. We moved from a basement apartment with narrow stairways, which made it difficult to move larger items in and out. We then moved in to a house with a very steep driveway. The truck couldn't make it up, so they had to walk up and down the driveway along with the stairs into the house. Oh yea, and it was raining the entire time! They wrapped all our furniture in blankets and plastic wrap at no extra cost and were very careful navigating in and out of both buildings. Even with the difficult moving conditions they were very professional and made our entire move stress free! Oh, and on top of all that, their price was also great! Max and Markov did an awesome job in helping us move our 1 Bed room apartment . It was a local move from Arlington to Falls Church . The price was fair and reasonable. They quoted the lowest compared to all other Movers. They got moving blankets , plastic wraps, duct tapes etc. that was required for the move. They wrapped all the furnitures - including my 70inch TV , Super Sac ( The Bean Bag that is the size of 3-Seater couch) and other furnitures. I had about 30 or so boxes - Including more than 8 heavy duty Large size and Medium size boxes. The 2-Man team arrived on time , wrapped all the furnitures , moved stuff as fast as they could and as efficiently as possible. At the same time , ensuring they didn't damage the items or the floor / thresholds. Both were gentlemen. I would recommend them to anybody for a hassle-free moving in the D.C. area. read more

Max did moving for us last week. I was the smoothest move I ever had. They were ON TIME. Neither late nor early. Called me 30 minutes before reaching which help me finish all the final packing. Extremely professional, everything was handled properly. They did not waste a minute and got started as soon as they arrived. They packaged all my valuable items and had all the necessary tools with them. At our destination, I had to get keys of my new apartment and it was taking some time. Max + team tried to save my time even there. They offloaded some of my items before getting the keys and had stacked them in front of our gate. I used ZMax to move some very large, heavy furniture out of a storage unit where 2 pieces were moved to my house in Fairfax (2 flights of stairs) and the rest to an apartment in Fredericksburg. It was easy to schedule (email and text with Max) and I met them at the storage unit in the afternoon (after their morning moves). They handled everything with care and even disposed of a media rack for me (no extra charge). Long story short, they gave me a flat fee and honored it even when we ended up in rush hour traffic on I-495 and apartment assigned was on the 2nd floor instead of the 1st. I had mixed experiences with other movers (when the furniture was moved into the storage unit) and decided to take a chance on ZMax. They did not disappoint and I will use them again! read more

ZMax Movers did a great job and made my November 2022 move a comfortable and smooth process. I was only moving next door but it was far enough that I needed a truck and movers to do the heavy lifting. I had a 1 bedroom, took 2.5 hrs to load and unload (I moved some stuff on my own prior to the move to save time and money since it was next door). 2 men came, they handled furniture with care, wrapped items, and continuously moved. They were friendly and communicative about their arrival time and my needs. Very respectful and kind! Overall, from start to finish, it was easy breezy...like scheduling the move, flat rate payment, and you don't have to list items! Also, if you pay in cash, you get a discount! Thank guys! Highest marks. Have used them twice now for two-guys-with-truck in-town moves within and between house and apartment. Totally dependable. When the scheduled move got snowed out by the big storm 1/3/22, they rescheduled for the next morning! --and arrived on time despite hideous conditions, unplowed side streets, etc. Fast, experienced guys, figured out how to get a massive 200 lb. sofa bed up from basement, around tight corner, and out a narrow door in 15 mins just by finding the good angles, turning & tipping, no marks on walls - I've moved many times and this was a pro performance. Cost was less than other quotes I got, and no extras or last-minute "adjustments." The five stars are real - Max and his guys are the best. read more

ZMax was amazing! I moved across Washington DC -- from Kalorama to Mount Vernon Square - and ZMax was prompt, courteous, and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend using Zmax in the DC area. They brought a large truck, dollies, and all the packing materials needed (e.g., tools, blankets, tape, plastic wrap, etc), which made moving day incredibly easy for me. I have a lot of fragile, bulk items (e.g., large mirrors, framed art, glass-top furniture, etc), and Zmax was incredibly careful and accommodating -- and even offered to help my boyfriend move some of his oversized furniture in as well. They did an outstanding job! From setting the appointment, to getting serviced the day of our move and they went above and beyond to really make sure they finished their work and put in quality work for their customers. ZMax really helped our move to a new place smoother and more efficient. As first time movers, we had limited knowledge of what will happen beyond packing up our things. They were very patient with us and worked tirelessly to move the small, the big and the in between stuff. I underestimated the number of things we had accumulated so the move took longer than what we originally planned for but they helped us until the end. They wrapped up the furniture so these did not get dirty or banged up during transpo and they adeptly disassembled and assembled the table and beds. I highly recommend Max and his team. These guys are very quick and professional! Max and Alan were pretty amazing, they provided all of the tape and blankets needed to protect my furniture and delicate items and moved quickly throughout the entire process Zmax Movers also has the best prices around! I checked out a lot of other moving companies, and none of the rates compared to the one i was offered at Zmax Movers As a result the total was less than 300$ for my one bedroom apartment from Fairfax to Alexandria In this case , you get away more than you pay for exceptional service and a great moving team. The skill, speed, and carefulness of ZMAX were outstanding! Efficient, courteous, and quick, they had my house (a three level townhome) wrapped for protection, loaded and moved all without my lifting a finger. All required tape, padding, and strength were provided ALONG with consideration and care. Their prices are VERY competitive and their attitude is terrific. If relocating was any easier, I would move again next week. BRAVO to this crew and the way they treated me and my piles of "treasures". As an addendum - after arriving late, they decided to make a stop in between locations. On our 7-8 mile move they arrived 1 hour after us - we left at the SAME time. They indicated they got stuck in traffic - whereas somehow we did not.. They of course charged us for this hour.

When I contacted MOTW among others, I was initially turned off by their hard core phone presence marketing, but once I told them to cease, they did. So I learned that they do listen. Because of their competitive pricing I was concerned that 1 or more of the glass table tops I have as well as nicer furniture would be broken broken or scratched. That was not the case. Everything was super wrapped in blankets and then covered in packing tape before it even left the house. The guys, 3 of them, worked hard without breaks except for lunch when they traveled between destinations. They were friendly and worked with a great attitude which led me to tip them well. There is a place going up the stairs where the ceiling meets the incline that typically gets banged and damaged during moving. They did not hit it once. A couple of items were incorrectly placed in rooms but that was as much our fault for miscommunicating. All in all I would use them again if needed.
