Visited the take out counter service on Christmas Day. Gotta give credit to the local staple for being open and serving only onolicious food! Friendliest service from Ramona at the order window! She greeted me with a cheery "Merry Christmas!", took my order and repeated it back to me, was quick, friendly and professional! Made my morning! Ordered the turkey plate (a special with all the traditional fixings), a fried chix plate and a regular chili bowl! Order was accurate, food temp was hot and tasted onolicious! Mahalo Zippy's Vineyard for the always quick, accurate and friendly service! Shout out to Ramona! You made me smile and made my day!

Had a craving for some Zippy's chili and their Saimin so I found the closest location to my daughter's house. It's an easy to find and accessible location on the corner with a ton of parking. It's a large well lit location. I love the digital boards that show you the status of your order. I also love the locker system they have. The service was quick and friendly and I was in out in no time.

10-4-25 Saturday nite the line was waiting outside the door for the restaurant. Not many places were open late so we chose here as it was on the way home and Sweetie requested noodles and sushi. Since one party before us signed up with 20 people we decided to do the take out order window to the left. We ordered the Ohana Pack to feed 6 of us but by the time we got to Sweetie's house Bud had already fallen asleep & her dad was ready for bed after he congratulated her for their win at a competition. More food for 4 of us- the Korean fried chicken and fried noodles were excellent. It also came with tossed salad and chili. The parking lot was pretty full and that late at night at this location there were many homeless men lying on the sidewalk at the parking entrance. Some began howling and making it the perfect scenario for fright night. Once our order was ready, time to Hele On, quickly. We hastened to jump in the car without hesitation and be on our way.

Service is excellent at this Zippy. Safer area and lots of parking. Fried chicken and Korean fried chicken platters are our favorites. Oxtail soup can be better. Please, skim the fat from the surface of the soup and go less on the peanuts but more on the greens. Most people will experience stomachaches after consumption if the grease is not skimmed from the soup. Consider using the big Chinese mustard rather than pea tips or young green mustards. Fresh cilantro plays a huge role in presentation and taste.

Zippy's is always the to go place if you are looking for something that's a causal dinning eat. Even the food is not that good, but I will still give it a 4 star because the spacious spaces and the short wait for food. Grilled salmon w/ sweet corn 2.5/5 The salmon is overcooked with lack of flavor. If you are looking for something that's "healthy", sure; but I won't get it again just because it has no taste. Spaghetti w/ meat sauce 3/5 My always to go food if I am craving for spaghetti but don't want to go to actual pasta restaurants. The portion is pretty decent for such an affordable price, but the taste can't be compare to regular pasta restaurants. Korean fried chicken salad 5/5 One of the must order, local favor dishes. The fried chicken is fried perfectly that's not overcooked, but crispy and flavorful. It has this sweet but savory taste that can't be found in other fried chicken favor.

My first time at a Zippy's and honestly was pleasantly surprised with the food. The food is really tasty, comes out warm and fast. We ordered the chicken trio and the zip combo. They cook their chicken super crispy and I was also really impressed by the fish that came in mine! Service is friendly and fast, but the location could really use a clean up. It's quite dirty inside so I'd suggest taking your food to go!

Zipping in... Really needed to stop by to pick up dinner and something sweet and though that Zippy's would be the perfect place to do both as they certainly do have just about everything you can imagine and all in one spot does make it convenient though parking in the back is quite small and can imagine it could fill up during peak hours but had no idea that this location had a drive through pick up which is quite bougie and convenient lol! Love the vibe as I walked in to the take out section is nice and spacious the staff here is nice as the line started to form they quickly asked for additional check out so that I didn't have to wait long to put in my order. Lots to choose from even special are always offered in all locations the simple fried chicken is the classic favorite besides their simian which they do separate the soup for you if you choose but don't forget to put in your phone number for your rewards as they didn't ask as I rushed to order and forgot myself but got my order in a timely manner. Thank you!

This was our first stop to eat at when we landed in Honolulu because it's nostalgic and it never disappoints when it comes to mixed plate lunches. This location has both the outside area where you can walk up to order your food at the window for take out with limited tables , but around the corner of the building is the indoor restaurant that is spacious with plenty of seating and offers more menu options. We ended up dining outside as we were there to eat and head over to the hotel right after. The Zip Pac Deluxe is one of our go-tos because it has a little bit of everything. We also got the the Chicken Trio and Chicken Katsu. My favorite was the crispy fried chicken, so Ono! We will always be a fan of Zippy's because their food is always consistent, affordable, and portions are generous!

We've heard of Zippy's for decades and we're determined to experience it while we were here. What a charming local hangout with a casual vibe... we could sit anywhere and the staff were kind and helpful. Our boys went to town trying this and that and what a way to start our adventures for the day ahead! Food very tasty and the prices reasonable. Another check off the bucket list!

I think her name was Jade. She took me in when the restaurant was closing soon...she said she had a special desert off the menu called strawberry shortcake which was a cornbread with ice cream and berries on the sides... ho brah so ono, but make me want to run to the bathroom kine after, but well worth it and would eat again! 5 stars tho is deserved cause she went above and beyond

Zippy's I liken to a Denny's or Norms. It definitely has the diner feel. I ordered the oxtail soup and the SO got the chili. I heard of the amazing oxtail soup but it actually fell short of expectations. I had had this at other Hawaiian establishmens in Hawaii and in the US and it was way better. I was a little disappointed but when in a pinch and for late night hours, I can see where Zippy's would fit the bill. Next time I would not go with oxtail soup.

    Kris P.

Yeah, I mean, no surprises here. Just your classic Next Stop Zippy's restaurant. Although, since I've moved to Cali, menu prices have been slowly creeping upwards with no end in sight. Chili korean chicken is close to $20 now holy damn campbell. But still so friggin good and nostalgic, I'm always gonna keep coming back. For some reason, AC was blasting ice cold. Not sure why since the place was not full at all and I'm sure it's expensive to keep the lights on. But service was great, mamasan was funny on this late night dinner hour. Fear not. Crackheads be surrounding the perimeter of this place. Just like how I remember it! Ah da memoreeeez.... They harmless though.

    Yuka W.

Staff are good and helpful. It's good loco foods so I think it could be a little cheaper. Tap water doesn't taste good so should check it.

I found so many things that looked great on the menu, to include fried gizzards, boneless Kal Bi ribs, fully loaded fried rice, Mac salad and other stuff I can't recall! So the TWO of us ordered way too much! We tried to eat as much as we could and ended up taking the rest home! Everything we ordered was delicious, so we knew we were going to eat good leftovers! Our Waitress (I have to remember to get names) was a track star, she was running to and from several tables of groups to deliver food! I will go again if they reopen!

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

Ambiance, well It's your typical old school coffee shop with their traditional menu items that they've served for years, nothing special about the place except the food. No frills. Hubby ordered one of the daily specials: pot roast. It's pretty good, tender, gravy is tasty, mac salad is decent, and if it's Saturday he always gets it. Very home style. Serving size is good. I got the mini oxtail soup, no green onions. Came with plenty of cilantro, four pieces of ox tail (one large, two medium, one small), pretty good for a mini, and a few peanuts. Oxtail pieces were almost fall off the bone but not quite. Flavor of the meat and broth was delicious. They have a container of ginger shoyu sauce on the table, but I'd you want only ginger you need to ask, which they bring quickly, but don't ask if you want it so if the server is busy you need to wait. They have three sizes - mini, regular, XL. XL comes with 4 scoops rice. The others come with 2. You can order extra broth for $2, and other options such as Saimin Ixtail, but I forgot what they all were. One thing I especially like about Kapiolani's oxtail soup is the ginger is grated, not minced like some other establishments. I enjoy oxtail soup at several places but this is my go to because of taste, grated ginger, different sizes based on my preference for the day, and it's in Aiea and conveniently located for me.
