i really loved this place, their food is just soo fresh and tastes amazing! Their hummus is soo creamy without the overwhelming garlic taste, my 10 month old loved it. Their beef shawarma!! soooo good, the flavor is amazing we had coffe with cardamom wow!! my tastebuds were soooo happy it is a very small place but their food is HUGE of flavor! very nice place to hang out and just enjoy good food. We had a bottle of wine and 4 adults and price was very reasonable we also had a dessert that was cake drowned in honey ( i forgot the name) but soo good def. should try and will come next time we visit read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Beacon!! I love the freshness, quality and authenticity of their food.

You charge more for the grilled vegetables entree as meat? Have some respect for vegetarians. There is no imagination in serving grilled vegetables as an entree. read more

Best middle eastern food in the HV. Authentic. Great vibe. Beautiful presentation. Just simply delicious.

Once again had delicious food at Ziatun. I was so hungry and the food is so delicious I forgot to take a picture lol. We loved the great taste of the food, such great friendly people. So welcoming. Had great Conversation with the owner and the restaurant manager. You guys are the best. read more

Things that were great: hummus, falafel, amd foule (OMG THE FOULE WAS SPECTACULAR). Things that were not-so-great: the babaganoush was sour, like maybe it was sitting out all day; and the caramelized onions that were on the rice bowl and the mujaddara were not caramelized but in fact just burnt. But worth it otherwise! Good place for vegans. read more

Loved the food. Different. Waitress was efficient and nice. Three kids and I got the sampler appetizer and devoured it. Hummus, baba ganoosh (lol) and stuff. Entrees were yummy and plentiful. Get there before 5:00. There are only a couple tables and by the time we left at 6:00 people had to stand around waiting for a table to open. read more

Driving back to the city and we were looking for a lunch option. Found this place on yelp and WOW we were blown away. The food is incredible and fresh. We got the ftur which is like a mixed mezze, you get a little bit of everything SO delicious. We also got a mixed grill kabob and a fattoush salad which were both great too. I loved that their iced tea had no sugar in it and they had a really yummy sage tea as well. Highly recommend if you like middle eastern flavors, cant wait to come back. read more

Lovely little app lace nestled amongst the stores in Beacon. One table outside and 6 inside. Welcome with some relaxing middle eastern music in the background by Addison, our host and server. Very friendly guy. Place was very clean. Noted one cook in a small kitchen in the back. Had some very nice fruit infused lemonades and a small wine list. We shared the medley which included baba ganoush, spices (which we got the leftovers of when we left), beans, hummus and falafel. All were excellent and the falafel was so good we ordered another small portion on the side. We also had grilled veggies which were great and a tabouleh which was good though a tad on the lemony side. The pita was warm and tasty. Overall an excellent meal with enough other options on the menu to warrant a return trip. Addison made it a point to ask our names and chat with us, adding to the overall friendliness. read more

Lovely ambiance and the staff is so sweet. The atmosphere alone made this spot really fun. The food was solid - great hummus, halloumi, and olives. This is a great option if you're looking for decent spot and looking for some healthier fare. read more

Ate lunch here for the first time yesterday. The atmosphere is cozy. Our waitress was very personable and attentive. I ordered a mint unsweetened iced tea - refreshing. For lunch I ordered three appetizers , Feta Cheese, Baba Ghanouj - puréed Eggplant dip which had a smokey flavor (perhaps it was a smoked paprika or liquid smoke added or did they smoke the eggplants? It was unexpected ,but tasty) which is usually served with Pita Chips but I opted to order a side of cucumbers to dip with instead. The Kofta served on skewers of lamb and beef served over a salad has some flavorful spices mixed into the meat mixture but was OVERCOOKED/WELL DONE (I prefer them moist and juicy but these were dried out). The salad was bland, iceberg lettuce with a pinch of tiny diced tomatoes and pinch tiny diced cucumbers. I like this type of cuisine but not the way it was prepared here. Dried out meat and bland salad is not for me. read more

This place never fails to be great . The Hummus here is amazing . The Kibbit fantastic

The service was fine, and the pickup was seamless. The fries were pretty good, the baba ganoush was excellent, the falafel was average and pricey. The baked goods were subpar . I'm not sure I've had worse baklava..then again. I know the restaurants are struggling right now and I've been doing my part to try to support establishments and tip well but all in all, this was an overpriced and underwhelming experience. read more

I've never had an Israeli, Greek, Lebanese, Turkish or Kurdish meal that I found inedible...until I took out food from here. I tried it twice and I hate to write bad reviews. The restaurant business is hard enough without a negative Yelp review. But, everything I tried here was over salted. I figured the first time may have been a bad day in the kitchen. The food was just as salty the second time. This is from someone who typically adds salt to dishes. I'll try it again and see if this review makes any difference. read more

Very authentic Middle Eastern food and totally delicious. Real hummus. Nice ambiance. I will be back for sure. read more

Oops. A total fail. I've eaten Turkish, Greek, Israeli (one good one in Hudson ) and Lebanese in many places, and generally the restaurants are great, although uneven up here compared to the city. Sunday afternoon, 3 seating, decor is ok. The good news, the majdara is ok, a smidgen overpriced. The tea is ok. Would be nice to have a lentil soup, not on menu, but it's summer, so ok. The fattush with added falafel balls, $13x2 orders, is the abject failure. The salad is very small with no pizazz, iceberg lettuce no romaine, the falafels are tiny bite-sized medallion dry snacks, and there are some marginally edible warmed-over pita chips. On request, some olive oil was added, to try relieve the problems. You, look for tahini, hummus or tzatziki, grape leaves or anything to help liven it up, standard in Mediterranean fare with orders ... nope, not without lots more money for more small portions. The whole thing is a disaster, and we informed them. John and Michael did not help matters, generally unhelpful, (most concerned with emphasizing that they are simply workers, contact the owner, leave, get out)'and when two of us came back to try to figure out how such a small amount of food resulted in such a large bill, they even criticized coming back, apparently under the theory that once you have the money, the customer is wrong. The young gal tried to figure out why tiny falafel medallions don't cut it (supplying a little surreal humor, I described the normal round, tasty falafel balls, so she thought I must be looking for a special order :) and Mario from the back seemed sincere in listening (kudos). To try to be fair, there is no commentary on the meat meals. No fish on the menu. Possibly the falafel wrap would be a better order, but you would still bump up against the mediocre dimes or nuggets called falafel and blah salad. They need to learn the cuisine. One error, we should have sent the food back untouched and walked out. The best part, it is fun to walk around a bit in Beacon, Drink More Good, Artisan's Bakery and more. I got the lamb shawarma with rice and a salad, with an extra add-on of pita bread. Delicious! The meat was tender and juicy, the rice perfectly cooked, and the salad tangy and fresh. The bread wasn't warmed up and next time I'll see if they will do that. It's a byob restaurant as of now which I hadn't anticipated but a two minute walk up to the gas station on the corner fixed that very quickly. Last minute I added a small side of babaganoosh which had a delight smoky flavor. Fantastic! read more

Loved the lamb yogurt soup I forget the name but wow on a cold night it's great- lamb was quite chewy in there but it's a good price for as much lamb as you get read more

I thought this was a restaurant, but left wondering if it's actually a private club for locals. Get your rosewater lemonade to go because if you stay and order the overpriced sampler of okay hummus and babaganoush and stale pita bread you will be served with sullen resentment and you will walk away sad. Ziatun - No-flava falafel - Middle Eastern Near Me - Beacon, New York

Food was absolutely delicious. Very unique style of Mediterranean food. The staff was also so kind and very helpful.

Disappointing all around: this was my second time going to this spot and I have to say I would not recommend it. It sucked! I bought a falafel for $8 and got the weakest looking falafel that was dry and didn't have any tahini sauce! Who does that?! I felt like I got ran for my money and was still left hungry. They added a $4 cucumber and tomato salad that was tiny and also... no flavor!!! Food was bland! How can you make bland Mediterranean food?! It's like an oxy-moron! If you are interested in bland ass, over prices, not adequate portions, visit this place. The atmosphere is nice. read more

Warm and friendly atmosphere, delicious food. The Kibbeh was phenomenal. I would highly recommend coming here if you are anywhere nearby.

Wanted falafels so I googled to find a local place. I can't believe I never heard of this place before. The falafel sandwich was amazing. So delicious. And the spicy sauce they give you on the side is so good. They have their own seasoning for the fries which are great also. Happy I found this place and will be going back. read more

Decided to stop in for takeout after a day of mountain biking in the area. Was going to opt for a sandwich at another local establishment but decided to try here due to the great reviews. I got a shawarma wrap and it was... fine. It was quite small (not very much filling) for the price ($10 with tax) and lacked flavor. The meat felt under seasoned , which is unusual for shawarma, and there was nothing to add heat (not even hot sauce on the side). Will opt for somewhere else for takeout next time. read more

I expected a pretty basic falafel menu here but it has a lot more variety. I have gone twice for lunch now, once got the falafel bowl and once a chicken wrap with the zatar fries. It was all good other than the hummus which is overpriced and oily. The mint lemonade is also great. read more

Highlights: falafel*, zaatar spices, baba, service and ambiance. Lowlights: very stale bread really brought down the quality of the otherwise exceptional futur (dips platter); the mint iced tea had loads of potential which was diminished by being overly sweetened (maybe brew it unsweetened and then offer some simple syrup?); mujadara was nice but could be improved with a bit more onion. Falafel pita needed more salad/tomato, again the stale bread let it down. *don't be a fool, order the falafel - they are divine. read more

How on earth could you ever leave anything other than a positive review for this place? Everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive and kind. & the food is out of this world. I loved this place! The variety of food is pretty decent, and the food we had was good! The only thing I wasn't too impressed about was the rice. Everything else was really good. Their French fries are one of the best fries I've ever had!!! The prices are very fair and well worth it! I am not from New York and I was staying in manhattan but we took a pit stop here and we chose this restaurant and it was well worth it! read more

If you're a vegan this is the place for you, finally a menu where you have more than one option to choose from. The restaurant itself is very small and they don't take reservations but you can call ahead when you're 10-15 minutes out. If you're looking for fresh and amazing middle eastern food this is the best spot around! read more

I love their hummus! With its smooth texture, fresh chickpeas, and the right amount of olive oil, it's some of the best I've ever had. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is very quaint. I recommend trying their mint tea as a refreshing treat as well. I'd like to give them 5 stars but the meat can be tough/dry and the rice has a cinnamon undertone which is disappointing if you're looking for something savory. Main meal portions can also be a bit bigger for the price. But I definitely recommend to try this place at least once! read more

First and foremost, this isn't Turkish food, it's Palestinian food so if you've had mezze plates or Lebanese or Jordanian cuisine.....this is very similar and better than most places. We ordered it all for starters: babaghonouj, hummus, zataar, pita bread, falafel, foul, salad. Yea, so we did it up. It was NYE after all. =) The main? Shawarma sandwich with zataar fries. And how happy am I that they have the thinner pita and not the Greek or Israeli thicker ones. It just doesn't go with our food, many mix this up! There wasn't a damn thing we ate that we didn't REALLY enjoy. The service was sweet and knowledgable even if the servers could pronounce "zataar" just a bit better, the environment is cozy, clean, intimate, and just perfect with the decor. When in town, I will definitely return. read more

Ziatun............ food especially hummus hands down one of the best , but service is extremely RUDE!! First server pointed to the menu without any other directions/info. I had to assume she was asking to check menu from QRcode ??? Then "ready " I assumed to order ?? Then she slid food on the table ...... I was literally scared to ask any questions. Instead of eating there I nervously asked for the box and cheque. Again nvm ... but even with such good food who would want to go back to that service and destroy your mood?!? read more

We stopped in on a trip home after hanging with friends. We were originally going to go to a different place down the street. It was so very hot out. And stumbled upon this place first. I don't recommend coming on a bit day. There is a single fan near the door for the whole restaurant. This added a bit to the stuffy feeling. The decor is cute but I tripped several times on the rugs scattered about so watch your step. The long wood bench is cool but could use some cushion for guest comfort. The idea behind the layout is cute too. I got the shawarma with rice and my boyfriend got a sampler of different dips with pita. The cost is good with the portions you get. It was maybe $20 for the 2 of us. My food was super dry and pretty blah overall. I would recommend if you get the shawarma get it with the hummus instead. Also it's not a very good place for alternatives to the menu. We asked for veggies instead of pita bread to go with the hummus and that wasn't possible. Also asked for no tomatoes and once again wasn't possible and I got to pick them out myself. The sampler was delicious and full of different flavors. But I am not a bean fan nor a fan of pickled radishes (at least that's what I think they were) nor of the tomato salad so 50% of the dish did not appeal to me. I'd definitely be up for trying something else from them on not such a hot day. read more

Excellent service but food is average. We ordered a falafel rice bowl and lamb kebab. I like that they are healthy and not greasy. It feels like home cooking. It's a small local restaurant which gets busy on the weekend. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and was lucky enough to be seated right away. The space is small and very cozy. It was just me and my boyfriend, but we ordered a bunch because we were in the mood to try it all. Hummus was AMAZING as were the fries, falafel bowls, and more. The food was amazing and Addison our server was so delightful! He recommended my new favorite Sauv Blanc to drink! we were not impressed. Food mediocre at best. Prices are high. No reason for such poor food. The pita was old and cold. Yuck! The lamb was overcooked yet tough. The salad was absent any flavor like mint or onion. The rice was very good, but what restaurant can survive on just rice? Don't waste your money, go anywhere else!!! read more
