This is the first and DEFINITELY last time I will go to this restaurant. The service provided by the female waitress with tattoos (the blurry photo provided is her) on her arm was amazing. She was very professional and polite. The elder male waiter with glasses was also wonderful at recommending dishes to us. While taking our order, we wanted to order dessert, but the elder male waiter said that no need as he would provide us with free mung bean soup dessert. We ended up orderining 5 entree dishes (totaling around $150+ & we provided a 20% tip as the service provided by the tattooed waitress & elderly male waiter with glasses was good. The food was also pretty decent. HOWEVER, upon asking for boxes to take our leftover food, a younger male waiter with tattoo on his arm (the other blurry photo provided is him) brought to-go boxes and start boxing our foods, after placing a dish into one to-go box, he asked if other foods can be placed into that one box. We responded with, "please no, because all the food have different tastes." That younger male waiter displayed a displeased look and then impatiently finished boxing our foods up in separate boxes. We didn't think too much of it. We then paid the bill BUT NOT EVEN A MINUTE after paying & tipping, that younger male waiter with tattoos on his arm told us to leave because "there are other customers waiting" (which was a SINGLE group of 4 people). We had barely even sat/ate for an hour (arrived exactly 9:30 pm, got kicked out at 10:33 pm; 9:42 pm got our first dish, 10:00 pm got our last dish). The messed up part was over half the tables were empty but they don't use them but instead kicked us out. We then remember we did not even get our complimentary dessert yet, so I asked that young tattooed male waiter, he responded impatiently with glaring eyes, "THERE AREN'T ANY FREE DESSERT FOR A WHILE ALREADY!!!" In my mind, I'm like, "what in the world?!!!! What kind of attitude is that to a paying customer?! It is not like I am there for free dessert; I was originally going/willing to pay for dessert, but was told no need as they would provide for "free." If that male waiter is the manager/owner, he really want his place to go out of business with such type of WONDERFUL customer service. Went there for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. The menu hosts a lot of attractive and rare dishes, from venison to eel. We ordered fried prawns, snails, eel. Everything was very flavorful. But we could tell the ingredients were not fresh. The original flavor was well hidden by the flavorful sauces. But the texture left much to be desired. At the end, they served us complementary sesame dessert soup and it was sour and spoiled. One of us got diarrhea soon afterwards. I felt nausea. None of us felt right. Made a reservation for party of 10 an hour before on a Saturday and they were fortunately able to accommodate. Authentic Chinese restaurants aren't known for their service, but service here exceeds expectations with two examples: when our table was full of plates and couldn't fit another dish, they offered to split the claypot rice into bowls for individuals. And when our table started to get crowded again, they helped us transfer the remaining food in a couple dishes to smaller plates. As we were finishing up, they gave the whole table two free desserts: one bowl of soup for each person made with fresh bead curd and sticky rice pancake with peanuts. We were pleasantly surprised AND they were yummy. Btw their menu is mostly Southern Chinese food (mostly Cantonese). My favorites were the pork stomach & chicken soup猪肚鸡汤, eel claypot rice台山黄鳝煲仔饭, and seafood egg tofu pot海鲜豆腐煲. Prices are reasonable and I would recommend to friends and family. read more

What an interesting restaurant. We came in on Thursday night around 10pm, and there were still a good number of people going in and out of the restaurant. It's a smaller restaurant for sure. Nevertheless, it was still pretty quiet, and tables are spaced far enough apart where you still feel like you have privacy. Service is not bad either - typical of a Chinese restaurant where you have to wave the waiter down yourself. Now... onto the food!! The mushroom dish had lots of different textures. The green stalks were hard and chewy, the thinner mushrooms were like dry jerky, and the regular mushrooms were perfectly bouncy and juicy. A great assortment of flavors and textures. Would highly recommend this dish!! 5/5 for this dish. The other dish was more of miss. It was sweet and sour pork, except they used dates and both black and green grapes. I cânt say I liked the grapes much - I think it was just too out of left field for me. There was also a hint of mocha from the sauce, which again I found quite strange. However, I still have to respect the restaurant for trying to innovate on a classic dish. 2.5/5 for this dish. Overall, I'd say give this restaurant a try! We had to flag down a waiter and took us so long to get any waiter's attention. We finally got a waiter to take our order after 15 minutes. We ordered 7 items and there were 8 of us. Our first food (chow fun) did not come until after over 30 minutes. The second food came after another 10 minutes. We waited 15 minutes again to get a waiter's attention and we asked where the rest of our food was, that's when they brought out our soup. I guess it was sitting in their kitchen until we asked for it. The table across from us got seated way after we ordered and they were getting all their food at the same time before ours, while we waited for our orders to come out one at a time 15 minutes apart. One of the items they put on our table was not even our order so we were wondering if our food were served to a different table. We got there around 10 pm and it was almost 12 midnight and we still had one order that hasn't arrived. We again had to flag down a waiter and asked to cancel the last item and asked for our check. She was saying that it takes 45 minutes to cook that particular dish but we said we've been here almost 2 hours. They said they couldn't cancel the order since it's already cooked so we just asked to take it to go. We were tired from a show and had to drive back to L. A. early in the morning so we really just wanted to have a quick bite and get out of there. We did not realize we would be there for 2 hours.
