Pro: Non veg thali was good, it had butter chicken, chicken curry, mutton curry, daal, vegetable, samosa, pulao, naan, salad and gulab jamun. Their 'cottage on the pond' appetizer was good and Mumbai mule cocktail is good. Decent ambience. Can accommodate large groups. Con: Eggnog lassi was terrible. Don't waste money on it. read more

We ordered food from here - the paneer burger and piri piri fries. One of the dishes was made for someone with food allergies and the restaurant was kind enough to accommodate our requests. The food otherwise was great - good quality and great taste. The fries were particularly good - mildly spicy and well seasoned. Will totally order again ! read more

From the atmosphere to the service and the flavors everything was top notch. Being an Indian I usually do not find Indian restaurants to live up to homemade flavors but Zaika emulated exactly how it would taste if made at an Indian home if not better. Highly recommend the Mango Mule, Gulabo, Ghee Roasted Prawns, and Chicken Dum Biryani along with the Raita. Loved it all! read more

Never tried Indian food before but ordering here just opened up my culinary options! I tried the paneer, murg makhani, lamb coconut curry, mango lassi, and the salty lassi. The murg makhani, curry, and the paneer were SO GOOD. We ordered a medium spicy and it gave a nice pleasant kick :) flavors were deep and complex- savory with a slight sweetness (very slight) and meat was so tender :) I also had their samosas and it was great as well! Mango lassi was pleasant too (and reminded me of a danimal almost lol) while I wasn't really a big fan of the salty lassi. Overall, had an amazing experience eating here especially for my first time trying Indian food :) read more

Zaika's a trendy/new/Indian-ish/fusion restaurant in Capitol Hill! Unfortunately, their prices definitely reflect all of these words and their location... Overall, it's a 3.5 stars. FOOD These were all fairly small appetizers from the "Shareables" menu. Their dinner entrees ranged from $20 and up. - Sesame Cheese Toast ($10): Four yummy fried stuffed triangles. It's fried. It has cheese. A classic combo. - Cottage on the Pond ($10): Again, it's hard to go wrong with fried cheese. Basically a mozzarella stick combined with paneer, which meant it wasn't as stringy/pullable as your typical stick. The sauce had a slight kick to contrast the creamy richness. - Tuna Papdi Chaat ($13): Tasty small bites of tuna, avocado, and a tamarind mint gel. The fish component to this was a unique spin, and it tasted like something you'd also see in a Japanese/Hawaiian fusion place. DRINKS: - Chai Old Fashioned ($14): I really couldn't taste much of the chai (or honey) flavor here, which was disappointing; all I really tasted was straight-up bourbon. - Sapphire Shikanji ($12): Cool aesthetic because of the butterfly pea flower syrup, giving it that blue tinge. Sweet and light with acidity from the lemon but nothing very memorable. - Tamarind Tequila Tonic ($10): Tequila and tamarind. I wish the tamarind flavor was stronger. Just tasted sweet. - Mumbai Mule ($10): Probably the best drink out of the four. Strong mango flavor and tangible kick from the habanero vodka. It's a cool concept, but the drinks were underwhelming. The appetizers were solid but nothing mind-blowing. From reading the other reviews, it actually seems others hold the opposite view: drinks were solid while food was lacking. Broke my diet and splurged on delivery from Zaika. I hope restaurants in Seattle survive the Covid-19 quarantine. The restaurant food is so diverse and excellent in the Emerald City. Delivery may not be the best manner to judge a kitchen's talent, but Zaika "delivers" great and unique sub-continent cooking. I stuffed my face, loving the spices and explosion of flavors. I did my Tikka Marsala dance and my dog joined in. Hey, I have to find fun where I can during this pandemic. Don't scoff. You try your own Tikka Marsala dance. I bet it puts a smile on your face. read more

Ordered Tandoori chicken with great hopes but this is the second time, they sent us raw low quality under cooked chicken. The food tasted absolutely stale won't ever order again. read more

Ordered takeout during COVID. The food was thoughtfully wrapped (butter chicken was wrapped in plastic so the liquid wouldn't spill out). The food itself was weird. I think they bill themselves as fusion, and it shows. The butter chicken was tandoori chicken in butter chicken sauce and just felt weird. The chicken was a bit burnt (which is kind of a feature of tandoori chicken as far as I can tell), but when submerged in liquid, it just tastes burnt. Chicken was not too dry, which is a plus. Portion size for the butter chicken was above average. The paneer burger was a unexpected and unique. The paneer appears to have been broken into little chips (like little lentils), mixed with spices, and re-assembled into a patty to give it a burger-like consistency. then deep fried. It too dry overall for me (not enough sauce). Portion size was average. read more

I feel like this place is designed for rich hipsters who 1) have no idea how amazing Indian food can be 2) would be the one to order a hamburger at a Mexican restaurant Pro's: -Good cocktails - I liked the Mango Mule. - The Cottage on the Pond was good (can't go too wrong with fried cheese) -Our server was incredibly kind/attentive. Con's: - I'm sorry but I wouldn't define 'Modern Indian' by putting Burrata and Butter chicken on a menu - Overpriced. $5 for Chutney is ridiculous. Should be included with the dish - Would NOT recommend for Vegetarian/Vegans. Their dinner options are so sad (steamed cauliflower with yogurt or a stuffed bell pepper). India has the largest # of vegetarians in the world, there are so many better options that Zaika could choose from. My recommendation would be to offer the thali for dinner as well. read more

Came here for dinner on their opening night. Food was average - a bit bland for authentic Indian but the cocktails were great. We asked for some side chutney with the malai tikka appetizer. On asking for the bill, we were initially not provided with an itemized bill but instead just asked to pay the total amount and tip. On asking for the itemized bill, they initially gave us just the receipt. The bill seemed unusually high vs. what we had eaten so we asked for the itemized bill again. We were then provided someone else's bill. When we probed again, then finally provided an itemized bill. When we looked at the detail - found that we had been charged $10 for just 1 teaspoon of side green chutney and tamarind chutney. Have never experienced this in any other restaurant. Good concept (needed in Seattle) but probably not coming back because of the lack of transparency about hidden charges. read more

We went to Zaika to celebrate our anniversary and the food and ambience did not disappoint! Cottage on the pond - OMG! Looks are deceiving here... mozzarella sticks, but the twist they added, made them amazingly good. Nargisi Kofta - Heavy but is incredible tasty. I have not had a dish like this in any Indian restaurant in the Seattle region. 5/5 rating - We've been craving Zaika, and plan to get takeout soon read more

I did an online order through Yelp and didn't wait too long. I ordered the non-veg thali and the chutney special salad. The presentation of both the thali and the salad were on point and I thought "wow I'm in for a treat" but sadly I was mistaken. The salad on the menu said it came with mixed greens but my salad only had arugula, the menu said it came with carrots but my salad did not and the salad dressing was missing from my order. The cucumbers did not look fresh and tasted like so. I liked 2 out of the 4 curries, the other 2 seemed a bit salty and I normally like salty foods. Overall worth the try but kinda missed the mark for me on this trip. read more

Amazing paneer appetizer dish, and the bartender on duty was very classy and helpful, and even wrote me a to-do list of things to do in Seattle! The butter chicken was great, as was the chai old fashioned. read more

Zaika is one of the best Indian food joint in Seattle. Every dish provides great taste and quality.

Way over priced for Indian food, food is greasy and extremely spicy. For instance, they have a Bison dish on their menu, does NOT say it's spicy, it is. So if you go there ask, if you are not a fan of spice. Not going back and for a Friday night it was practically empty. They don't have a lot to choose from on their menu, it's fairly small. This place is a disappointment. read more

We had a dinner today, the food was good but our desert came prior to main course and we asked to take it back and serve after main course, the server mentioned you can have it now and after main course we will give it u again as complementary. Once we done with main course, the complimentary dessert didn't came! This is so bad as you should never mentioned it at first place!! This is a disrespectful towards customer. I regret now to pay 25% tip :( read more

Quality: We have tries Paneer Tikka, Peri peri fries, Honey mayo burger, Aloo Tikki burger, Malai kofta, Dal, Thali. Panner Tikka, fries and burgers tasted great and had great blend of spices. Malai kofta has nice gravey but koftas taste bit uncooked. Tip: Try fries with Smoked Chilli Mayo they taste great together. Delivery: Only my first order had all the items however most of my order had something or the other thing missing. Always try to pick up the order as in delivery they have tendency to miss one or more items. Food Quality : 4 stars Food Taste: 3 stars Food Quantity: 3 stars Delivery experience: 1 star read more

One of the biggest perks of this place is that it takes food orders for dine-in until 9:45pm. A lot of other places in Seattle seem to close in the 9-9:30pm window. We ordered Cottage on the Pond, which is their take on an Indian fusion mozzarella sticks. They had a mozzarella-paneer blend with a zesty chili sauce. I had the Classic Butter Chicken, which had a creamy sauce that's more on the tomato-y side than some other butter chickens. It came with big chunks of chicken that you break apart since they are too big for one bite. Overall, a very good dish and generous serving size. I also ordered garlic naan which came out as expected in a good way. One of the reasons for the 4-stars is that it was pricey, except for the naan. Total for the meal (appetizer was split three ways) was around $35. read more

This is a must try. Lots of vegetarian options, I had the Vegetarian Thali. I do wish it was spicier but it didn't give me a spice level option. I most certainly will be back as they are a few blocks away. read more

Average food (lame chicken dish and naan and long food wait times were pretty disappointing. The nice waiters & a nice hostess were much appreciated as was the plug in the wall for my iPhone charge. I loved the habanero mango mule cocktail but I am not sure there was enough alcohol to justify the $14 price tag. So in the end - Zaika barely ekes out 3 stars from me ... which is pretty rare. I probably wouldn't go back unless it was for a cocktail on an expense account. read more

Loved every dish we tasted SO much. And we tasted quite a few. The service was amazing as well (I didn't catch the gentleman's name, but he had a pony tail- if people from this establishment are reading this, please thank him again from our side). Briyani, Lamb Kadhai and shrimp appetizer were good. The chicken curries we tried seemed like achar (Indian pickle) was mixed in the curry sauces and didn't taste as appetizing. Naan was average. read more

Perfection. It's truly perfection. I've never had Indian food so perfectly made and it makes me so happy to write this review. If you're looking for good Indian food in Seattle come here. Got the garlic naan, butter chicken, and lamb biryani to go. The naan was soft. Butter chicken was a bit on the sweet side and chicken was a bit dry, but still decent. Lamb biryani lacked flavor, but the lamb is moist and tender. They were generous with the amount of lamb they gave for the biryani. read more

This place is nice, very accommodating. Not authentic Indian food but more of fusion. It's a nice change from regular Indian food and tastes good. My only concern was there was so much cheese and cream in everything we tried, tasted good but it's so much cheese. They have really good cocktails, Mumbai mango mule was amazing so was chai old fashioned. Shikanji was so different, I never tasted a cocktail with chat masala before, but it was nice kick. read more

Love this place! I have passed by it loads of times and finally went to dinner here with some friends. Just like another Indian restaurant abroad, Zaika pushes the boundaries to serve the palate and excite the taste buds. However, just like many other Indian restaurants abroad, it falls massively short of expectations! We had heard moderate to good-ish reviews about Zaika from our friends and having read the reviews on Yelp here, were looking forward to experiencing authentic Indian flavors on a Diwali night. To our chagrin, the food was neither traditional nor progressive, although effort has been put toward visual pleasure. Two of the dishes in general, namely, *Prawn-ghee roast* and *Kashmiri Mutton Rogan Josh* were particularly surprising (and not in a pleasant way!!). While the former was surprisingly overtly salty with no flavor of ghee at all, the latter matched the salt levels of the former yet had the unique quality of being listlessly spiceless and bland! Thankfully, *Baked Zafrani Chicken Fondue* was really good but unfortunately, we had ordered that as an appetizer and it wasn't fun at all to end the meal with unpleasant surprises. Secondly, a bit on the crew on board. I have had really great experiences in the past interacting with people who serve us the food in many Indian restaurants. More often than not, they bring warmth along with the flavorful dishes. The waitress we had the pleasure (or not?!) of interacting with in Zaika that evening, was extremely cold and distant. As they say- expectation is the mother of all evil! [and Zaika met that expectation, sadly :/ ] read more

For a place I have not ever been inside this restaurant is really good. I have had it via Uber Eats 4-5 times in the last 9 months. I do get a lot of the basic stuff like butter chicken and Tikka Masala which is really good and large enough portions for 2-3 people per dish. But, the naan here is really the star! They got 3 types just plain, paneer stuffed of Potato stuffed and wow you need to try them all! read more

The food here is amazing, servers are extremely pleasant and great to talk to, Nitin the owner is a really knowledgeable guy and very hospitable. The dishes we ordered had a twist on classic Indian recipes - our favs were most definitely the Lamb chops, chicken seekh kababs, Lamb pepper stir fry, paneer pinwheels AND for dessert, don't hesitate to order the Daulat Ki Chaat (this dessert is to die for!) and Mango mousse. read more

Just ordered in DoorDash. Food was way too spicy. Absolutely insanely hot and inedible. Avoid this place. No bueno.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in town! We went there with few friends on Saturday dinner, the place was full but we got a table without much wait. In drinks We ordered almost everything on the cocktail menu, good drinks! Food and appetizers, we ordered paneer tikka, kale chaat and chili chicken. Main course - Kashmiri kofta - very soft, fresh and flavorful, saag chicken - soft chicken and flavorful, bread - cilantro onion bread is a must! And tandoori roti. Veg Dum biryani - I found it little sweet, too many pineapple pieces - not sure if I would order that again. But don't finish your dinner without the dessert - Daulat ki Chaat is a total must!!! Great Service, great menu, and flavorful food!! read more

Amazing food. We were there over the weekend and was blown away with the mind boggling presentation of every dish that came on our table. Clean women's bathroom! Modern-industrial atmosphere. Ordered garlic naan, side order basmati rice, Paneer pinwheel (please note they do not make their own paneer) and lamb Kheema Paav.
