    bengaluru masala dosa
    Shrenik P.

It's not super often that you see a South Indian restaurant that pops up in Seattle, so I wanted to make sure I checked out this one. Started with the punukulus. These are deep-fried balls of fermented batter, usually dipped in sauce. The crunch was solid, but it felt like these were mostly about the outside breading. The inside didn't have much of a taste to it. My main dish was the Bengaluru Masala Dosa. As opposed to some of the other dosas, this one comes normal-sized. The dosa was pretty good overall. Easily the best part was the masala potato filling, which was the perfect spice level while retaining a ton of flavor. I wish there had been more of that filling as it was concentrated more on the left half, but it's some of the best masala dosa filling I've had. However, the chili podi on the other parts of the dosa is not spicy at all. The outside of the dosa isn't really crispy, but it's not a huge problem as it's pretty easy to tear apart still. What was disappointing was the chutneys. These were quite flavorless. The green chutney especially tasted watered down and immensely bland. I also tried some of the Vijayawada biryani. This was really good. Quite spicy, but had a ton of aromatics and a variety of flavors. Portions are solid for the prices, which aren't too expensive. One note is our food took a ridiculously long time to come. It's not a very big restaurant, so that should not have been happening. Overall, I would say it's solidly above-average South Indian food. 7.75/10

We finally made it to Sangamam for dinner recently. The decor feels similar to what Rasai had, and the tables are still so close together there is no privacy for conversations. We got Chicken Vepudu, Bengaluru Masala Dose, Bangalore's Signature Donne Biryani and Masala chai. The chai was so bitter we couldn't drink it and sent it back. We wanted to try the fish fry, but we were told they didn't have it that day. The Bengaluru Masala Dose, and Bangalore's Signature Donne Biryani were both good. The Chicken Vepudu was the standout item for us, it was suggested by our waiter as their best chicken dish.

Arrived here for a late lunch. It's the same spot as rasai and the entrance has both the names so I found it unusual. The food tasted good for the items we ordered . We liked the pani puri, benne dosa and puri subji. Service is good but they need to improve some details like cutlery used to serve, etc should be clean and high quality. Other than that I would recommend trying once.

Fun ambiance, very friendly staff, relatively quick service, and tasty food! Portion sizes were very generous. We got the tandoori chicken and lamb biryani. Both had the perfect amount of spice and flavor

Bangalore Masala Dosa and Gudbud were quite tasty. As a Bangalorean, it is not often that we can find good dosas outside of Karnataka but this place is an exception. I would be back here to try a wide variety of dishes they have on their menu.

Was quite tasty! But a bit on the pricer side. For brunch, our group got dosas, they were very crisp and tasty. Biriyani was very good as well. Butter chicken, palak paneer and naan was enjoyed, same with golgappa. Service seems a little bit understaffed, but overall very nice place

Visited Sangamam for lunch with one other family. We arrived early, so it was not too busy and we were seated immediately. Parking was a challenge. We had to park in the parallel street and walked to the restaurant. There is paid park right in front of the restaurant, but it is usually full during peak hours. So be ready to park a little far out and walk. There are some nice little shops along the way when you walk, so it is not that bad. We ordered Chicken 65, Cashew Chicken and another Shrimp based dish for appetizers. All three dishes were very delicious and freshly made. For entrees we had the Ghee Podi Thattu Idly, Dosa and Chicken Biriyani. All the dishes were good and not too spicy, which we liked. Overall a nice Indian restaurant in the Fremont area. Will visit again.

Sangamam is a fairly new Indian restaurant in Fremont. They have an extensive vegetarian and non vegetarian menu. It's quite a task to get tables over the weekend, so be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation. The ambience is great too. And the food was a surprise. Everything we tried was delicious. Firstly the manchow soup was super delicious and so authentic. Same with the masala Puri. One of the most authentic ones I've had in Seattle, tasted like the ones back in Bangalore. The Gobi Manchurian and fried rice was good too. The only let down was the Moong Dal halwa which didn't taste good not like a halwa. But apart from that, everything was great!

Really good!!!! Ganesh was super nice and attentive! Mumbai mule was 10/10. We ordered butter chicken, roti, biryani, chicken tikka appetizer. This is my second time here and it won't be my last. Service was phenomenal.

**vegetarian review** Excellent service. And very good food. We got - street style fried rice, mysore masala dosa, mango lassi, gobi sesame, baby corn chili, paneer tikka, kutto iddyapam and rasam. I have also done takeout for gobi manchurian and kuttu paratha. Some things were amazing and some were slightly less but everything was delicious. Definitely recommend checking this place. I really like kuttu paratha, baby corn chili, gobi manchurian. I wouldn't mind getting the dosa and the paneer tikka again. I didn't really enjoy the iddyapam as much as the other things.

Bangalore dosa - 4/5 Godavari biryani - 3/5 Service - 3/5 Ambience - 3/5 They have a very weird playlist. Switched from 90s songs to devotional songs with 5 mins in between without any music. The food on the table didn't arrive together for everyone. I got it 10 mins after my husband finished his dosa.

We tried this place for the first time and left with mixed feelings, while the ambiance is from the previous restaurant Rasai the overall experience was not too impressive. This seemingly up scale place for Indian food has a confused menu at best, they seem to be serving South Indian food primarily with dosas, curries and biryanis but they also have North Indian options with veg curries Naan and chaat options. Further they have Indo-Chinese options on the menu to cater to everyone. This strategy can work and they may do well as there is something for everyone but they seem to be taking shortcuts to manage a large menu. We ordered a pani puri and Bangalore masala dosa to start, service was fast but food was missing something, pani puri used the fryum puri which is a huge short cut all restaurants must avoid as it does not taste good at all. It is easy to manage because of shelf life but is not authentic and nobody wants to pay for that. The dosa masala lacked salt and was bland. We next ordered a dum biryani and while it tasted good with all the spices it wasn't a real biryani. The rice and chicken were cooked separately and later on put together as a dish which being a biryani chef myself I could easily tell. Overall, the place has potential as there are no good South Indian restaurants in proper Seattle and this place is good as long as they can avoid shortcuts.

Good south indian food! Go here if you like spicy food!! The crispy potatos are a must try! Very less wait time when I went on a Saturday noon. Walkable distance from the bus stops. Tried the chicken veppudu, kalakki and paneer biriyani - liked them all! No complaints. The ambiance was good too. Not noisy.

Indian takeout on St. Patrick's Day, oops my bad. Most likely this takeout was cobbled together from the lunch buffet. Overall the cuisine was a decent variety and generously packaged. Each takeout box had basmati rice, peas & carrots in a tomato based sauce, bite sized samosas, with the main entrees provided were butter chicken, saag paneer, and chicken vindaloo. Reasonable to call it a takeout thali. Can't speak to ambiance because it was takeout. Service was swift and efficient, showed my TGTG order and handed a bag with two takeout containers. In, out, and go. I was glad for the thick plastic bag because it was overfilled, oozed out, and could have been a mega mess in the car heading back home. What was missing was the ka-pow flavor! Indian cuisine usually has mega flavor and palate pleasing. This did not align with my earlier visits from way back when. Perhaps I'm accustomed to fave Indian spots in the UDistrict. But when brought home, another family member,The Homie, agreed on this assessment when we later dined at home. Not bad, not great. Kind of a let down from my earlier memories of India Bistro. With the vast regional Indian spots in Seattle and across the lake in Bellevue and Redmond, I kind of expected OG India Bistro to be gold standard. Just okay, hence the three stars for this TGTG experience.

I stopped by during a World Cup match, so most of the nearby bars were packed, but this restaurant was surprisingly quiet with only a few tables occupied. The décor is nice enough, but it didn't quite match the way the advertise. Unfortunately, the service was also underwhelming. It wasn't bad, but it felt pretty lackluster, especially for a restaurant at this price point. I was expecting a more polished dining experience. The food was good, but it didn't wow me. My favorite dish was the Paneer, and the kofta was also enjoyable. One thing that stood out in a negative way was the presentation. For example, when our appetizer platter arrived, some of the dishes were awkwardly stacked or hanging over one another. It seemed like a small detail, but at this price, I expected more attention to presentation. Overall, the meal was solid, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. With so many great Indian restaurants nearby, I'm not sure I'd return.

There were quite a few items on the menu we weren't familiar with and the table next to us could see we were overwhelmed with the choices, so they suggested we had to order the curry leaf chicken and we wouldn't be disappointed. They were right! I love saag paneer so I get that everywhere, but this was one of my favorites, the flavor was perfection. Everything was flavorful and well spiced, with a bit of a kick even though we ordered some items mild, but everything was so delicious you had to power through the heat. Service was great. The low spice level was good for my weak palate and overall the flavors were solid. In particular, I liked the veggie curry. Service: This was where the experience felt lackluster. It took well over 10 minutes for the one server (not her fault, they're lowkey understaffed for a Sunday lunch) to make their way to our table after we were sat. Our waters were never filled once after the initial filling (why would we still be expected to tip?), and the food took longer than average to come out than I've had at other Indian establishments. Granted, the food was better than I've had at other Indian places, but the time it took for things to come out was a bit longer than we would've liked. The plates that were at our table were also definitely cleaned poorly. The restaurant is only a GOOD rating out of five on the cleanliness scale (inspection done by the health department in the state of WA) and I think that does not come without reason. My plate still had some food remnants and smudges from previous servings. Atmosphere: Pretty decent place to talk, seating was fine, bathrooms were clean. Overall no other issues with cleanliness outside of the plate.
