The food here was definitely the highlight. Everything we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. You can tell the kitchen knows what they're doing. The ambiance was decent too: comfortable and pleasant enough for a casual meal. The only downside was the service. Staff seemed polite, but the wait times were noticeably slow throughout the meal, from ordering to getting the check. If the service were more efficient, this place would easily be a top spot for me. Overall, worth visiting for the food, just be prepared to be patient. read more

Do NOT give this restaurant your business. Fake reviews on Google. After posting my original review on google, our group realized that Sangamam posts FAKE reviews to combat negative reviews. 1. The accounts are all new accounts (1-2 reviews) and are all locked / restricted accounts. 2. The reviews all have the same "formula" of 2 sentences mentioning a food and then positive service. --- REVIEW BELOW --- Really disappointing experience with the unlimited dosas. We called ahead to ask when the kitchen closed and were told last orders were 10:15pm (a little odd, since their hours say 10pm, but we figured they'd know their own kitchen). Got there at 9:20 -- packed, with one server running the entire floor. We put in our first round at 9:30. The server said the kitchen closed at 9:45 and offered to put our second round in right then, then went to check and came back saying last orders were actually 10pm, so we could order again later. By 9:50 we'd only gotten 2 of our 4 dosas, so I asked to put in round two -- "sure, I'll come grab it." He finally came back at 10:02 to say the kitchen was closed. And the first round came out wrong anyway: 3 of the 4 dosas we ordered. So between the phone call and a few assurances at the table, we were told several times we could order more, and never actually got to. For an "unlimited" deal, we barely got one incomplete round. To be fair, when I said I didn't want to pay the unlimited price for basically one round, the server only charged us for what we got -- and the dosas themselves were not bad, crispy and buttery with flavorful masala. But we wouldn't have paid full price for them, and the "unlimited" part just didn't deliver. I wouldn't count on their "unlimited" items. read more

It's not super often that you see a South Indian restaurant that pops up in Seattle, so I wanted to make sure I checked out this one. Started with the punukulus. These are deep-fried balls of fermented batter, usually dipped in sauce. The crunch was solid, but it felt like these were mostly about the outside breading. The inside didn't have much of a taste to it. My main dish was the Bengaluru Masala Dosa. As opposed to some of the other dosas, this one comes normal-sized. The dosa was pretty good overall. Easily the best part was the masala potato filling, which was the perfect spice level while retaining a ton of flavor. I wish there had been more of that filling as it was concentrated more on the left half, but it's some of the best masala dosa filling I've had. However, the chili podi on the other parts of the dosa is not spicy at all. The outside of the dosa isn't really crispy, but it's not a huge problem as it's pretty easy to tear apart still. What was disappointing was the chutneys. These were quite flavorless. The green chutney especially tasted watered down and immensely bland. I also tried some of the Vijayawada biryani. This was really good. Quite spicy, but had a ton of aromatics and a variety of flavors. Portions are solid for the prices, which aren't too expensive. One note is our food took a ridiculously long time to come. It's not a very big restaurant, so that should not have been happening. Overall, I would say it's solidly above-average South Indian food. 7.75/10 read more

We finally made it to Sangamam for dinner recently. The decor feels similar to what Rasai had, and the tables are still so close together there is no privacy for conversations. We got Chicken Vepudu, Bengaluru Masala Dose, Bangalore's Signature Donne Biryani and Masala chai. The chai was so bitter we couldn't drink it and sent it back. We wanted to try the fish fry, but we were told they didn't have it that day. The Bengaluru Masala Dose, and Bangalore's Signature Donne Biryani were both good. The Chicken Vepudu was the standout item for us, it was suggested by our waiter as their best chicken dish. read more

This place was really quite lovely! I came in 30 min to closing so I was appreciative that they were still so welcoming. I tried to get take out but they said dine in was fine even though it was before close. The server was very sweet and checked in with me several times. The food was also tasty. The garlic naan was excellent and I had lots of paneer in my dish too. I wish the rice had been plain or without the seasoning but that's more a personal preference as it was still tasty. Lots of vegetarian options! Not a ton of vegan options if you're looking for that but I'd def come back! read more

Arrived here for a late lunch. It's the same spot as rasai and the entrance has both the names so I found it unusual. The food tasted good for the items we ordered . We liked the pani puri, benne dosa and puri subji. Service is good but they need to improve some details like cutlery used to serve, etc should be clean and high quality. Other than that I would recommend trying once. read more

Bangalore Masala Dosa and Gudbud were quite tasty. As a Bangalorean, it is not often that we can find good dosas outside of Karnataka but this place is an exception. I would be back here to try a wide variety of dishes they have on their menu. read more

We had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a couple of months. Our first attempt was unsuccessful because the wait was over an hour, so this time I made sure to reserve a table early in the morning. (Tip: Make sure to reserve in advance; limited space means walk-ins might not get a table.) We ordered: Malabar fish and vegetable biryani, Punugulu, Chicken Lollipop, Chicken 65 coffee, and Chicken Dosa. While the restaurant seems popular, the main question is whether the food lives up to the hype. Honestly, we were somewhat disappointed, except for the Malabar Tawa Fish and Chicken 65. Tip: Most dishes leaned toward the sweeter side. If you enjoy sweet flavors, this restaurant might be worth a try. read more

Was quite tasty! But a bit on the pricer side. For brunch, our group got dosas, they were very crisp and tasty. Biriyani was very good as well. Butter chicken, palak paneer and naan was enjoyed, same with golgappa. Service seems a little bit understaffed, but overall very nice place read more

I was really hoping for more, but unfortunately, Sangamam didn't live up to the hype. We tried the biryani and the dosas, and both were extremely average in flavor, nothing stood out compared to other spots in the city. The lighting felt quite dim and could definitely use some refreshing. Most frustratingly, the portion sizes were roughly half the quantity of what you get at similar Indian restaurants nearby. Between the lackluster taste and the small servings, it just wasn't a good value. read more

Visited Sangamam for lunch with one other family. We arrived early, so it was not too busy and we were seated immediately. Parking was a challenge. We had to park in the parallel street and walked to the restaurant. There is paid park right in front of the restaurant, but it is usually full during peak hours. So be ready to park a little far out and walk. There are some nice little shops along the way when you walk, so it is not that bad. We ordered Chicken 65, Cashew Chicken and another Shrimp based dish for appetizers. All three dishes were very delicious and freshly made. For entrees we had the Ghee Podi Thattu Idly, Dosa and Chicken Biriyani. All the dishes were good and not too spicy, which we liked. Overall a nice Indian restaurant in the Fremont area. Will visit again. read more

Sangamam is a fairly new Indian restaurant in Fremont. They have an extensive vegetarian and non vegetarian menu. It's quite a task to get tables over the weekend, so be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation. The ambience is great too. And the food was a surprise. Everything we tried was delicious. Firstly the manchow soup was super delicious and so authentic. Same with the masala Puri. One of the most authentic ones I've had in Seattle, tasted like the ones back in Bangalore. The Gobi Manchurian and fried rice was good too. The only let down was the Moong Dal halwa which didn't taste good not like a halwa. But apart from that, everything was great! read more

**vegetarian review** Excellent service. And very good food. We got - street style fried rice, mysore masala dosa, mango lassi, gobi sesame, baby corn chili, paneer tikka, kutto iddyapam and rasam. I have also done takeout for gobi manchurian and kuttu paratha. Some things were amazing and some were slightly less but everything was delicious. Definitely recommend checking this place. I really like kuttu paratha, baby corn chili, gobi manchurian. I wouldn't mind getting the dosa and the paneer tikka again. I didn't really enjoy the iddyapam as much as the other things. read more

We tried this place for the first time and left with mixed feelings, while the ambiance is from the previous restaurant Rasai the overall experience was not too impressive. This seemingly up scale place for Indian food has a confused menu at best, they seem to be serving South Indian food primarily with dosas, curries and biryanis but they also have North Indian options with veg curries Naan and chaat options. Further they have Indo-Chinese options on the menu to cater to everyone. This strategy can work and they may do well as there is something for everyone but they seem to be taking shortcuts to manage a large menu. We ordered a pani puri and Bangalore masala dosa to start, service was fast but food was missing something, pani puri used the fryum puri which is a huge short cut all restaurants must avoid as it does not taste good at all. It is easy to manage because of shelf life but is not authentic and nobody wants to pay for that. The dosa masala lacked salt and was bland. We next ordered a dum biryani and while it tasted good with all the spices it wasn't a real biryani. The rice and chicken were cooked separately and later on put together as a dish which being a biryani chef myself I could easily tell. Overall, the place has potential as there are no good South Indian restaurants in proper Seattle and this place is good as long as they can avoid shortcuts. read more

This is what used to be Rasai! Am so glad it's now a much needed South Indian (mostly) eatery since we have lots of the "Rasai" types in the Seattle area now. The food is so darn authentic. The chutneys and sambar finally taste like back home. We ordered the medhu Vada, masala uttappam, egg kottu parotta, garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, gobi manchurian and egg kalakki. Also, paneer tikka being from the north did not have any southern influence, which is great!! Service was very quick. There's so much more to try on the menu. Definitely going back! No alcoholic beverages yet. Reservations recommended. read more

Do not go here if you have anything else on your schedule. If you have _plenty_of time to kill... you will, yes, be rewarded with better than average South Indian food. I did not think it was worth the wait, though. The joy of going out for a decent meal, at least for me was killed by the fact that I had to sit and wait for 15 minutes for my order to be taken and then another another 15 minutes for the chai to be served. The single dish I ordered took at least 45 minutes to be served, if not longer. Just order as takeout. read more

We ordered a bunch of stuff amongst 4 people and did a family-style dinner so we could try different things. Everything was take-out, so I can't speak for the service. I've only been to a few Indian restaurants in Seattle, but I think this one is my favorite so far. The Paneer Tikka Masala was perfect texture and super flavorful, and the portion was big enough for dinner + some leftovers. The naan was super soft and flavorful, with a little crisp on the bottom. I did think the dosa was a tiny bit limp and dry, but that could have been because it was takeout. The puff puffs were also super yummy, and I liked all the different sauces. I would 1000% order again. read more

If I could give 0 stars for this place I could. My experiences - One bathroom for the whole restaurant (results in queues), Biriyani was made of cheap quality rice, everything is overpriced for the service and quality that you receive (ok to pay higher if it meets the standard), water was never refilled on time, items were served over a period of 45 minutes randomly,Server bumped into my chair twice and never apologized. Coffee was served cold. Crammed seating. The dosa masala was dry and chutneys were lackluster at best. I would not recommend this place if you want to have a great experience and value for your money. They charge exorbitant prices like some High-end restaurants, and don't even meet the food quality of a fast food place. Never ever going back. read more

2.5 stars atmost. Rasai closed and Sangamam opened at same spot. New owner but downhill on ambiance and service. They had called insta creators to hype them up, but not really up to the mark. Food was just ok, nothing special and nothing to talk about. Portion size was small , so not too much value for the price. Service was super slow, saw many tables complaining that they had been waiting for their food for atleast 30mins. There was also lot of confusion all around, aline host was trying her best to seat everyone but had no idea on the wait time. I could only spot only 2 servers doing all the job and one cleaning guy who was also struggling. This is my rating on the food items: Chicken pahadi kebab- 2.5/5 - just ok, regular taste and on softness. Veg vijaywada biryani - 3/5 - it was the only decent item , bit on spicier side. Gobhi manchurian - 3/5 small portion for $15, it was not bad but nothing to croon about. Taste was fine. Veg street style noodles - 2.5 /5 - just ok. Not really coming here again. read more

Terrible food, very rude owner/host as well. Will not visit again. Biryani was insipid with "curry" just placed on it, without the flavor being infused in it. Server expressed annoyance at being requested for boxes, extra tissues. Insufficient staff, with long wait times to cater to simple requests. Please save your money and do not visit this restaurant. Do not trust the Google reviews; they are all paid reviews. read more

We heard about this newly opened Indian place in Fremont. Had to give it a try we ordered the sambar vada and Bangalore dosa with chai and coffee. The Bangalore dosa did meet the expectation and the flavor was good but the sambar was not that flavorful. The vada was also hot and crisp. The tea and coffee was cold so I don't recommend taking it. The place is small and seat with reservations only and the hot and the servers are very welcoming and provide good recommendations for food options. This earlier used to be rasaii and is in the process of change so the board outside says rasaii so look out if you are trying to find it. read more

I was walking around Fremont and told myself I'll try the restaurant with the most luring aroma, and Sangamam reeled me in. The restaurants ambiance is very relaxing with warm lighting, comfy seating, and an open dining area. The menu has a ton of tantalizing options and I opted for a masala chai and the house special chicken masala. The chai was perfectly balanced with flavor, smooth texture and got me relaxed after a few sips. But, the house special chicken masala is what blew my mind. The curry has the magical property of being very spicy without sacrificing and overpowering the other herbs and softer spices in the dish. And the chicken is undoubtedly the most tender, juicy, flavorful, falls-right-off-the-bone chicken I've ever had from any restaurant. I didn't think chicken could make me so breathless, yet I was proven wrong. With that being said, the service was wonderful, the aroma lead me to the right place, and I will be back again soon to try some dosas and naan. read more

The food here was great (5/5), so even though the service wasn't perfect (2/5), I want to give this restaurant 4/5 stars overall. This restaurant specializes in South Indian food, and offers authentic speciality dishes from different sub-regions. It's so difficult to find Indian food in Seattle, especially South Indian, so I'm very happy this place is exists. We were a group of 6 and we came in with a reservation to celebrate a friends birthday. Unfortunately we ended up having to wait nearly 40 minutes for a table, standing outside in the cold. Once we sat down too, service was a bit slow as they seemed severely understaffed. The food however was excellent! In particular loved the fish! Everything was flavorful and reasonably priced We left happy DESPITE the long wait! read more

We had a great experience at sangamam. 1st time visiting the place and it was during July 4th weekend. Not too crowded even though the space is small, and was designed well to not bump into other tables. Coming to the food - we had multiple dishes from fish to uttapam and all were served hot and tasted amazing. We definitely recommend the place and will be back to try one of their biryanis this time. read more

This is my new favorite Indian restaurant in Seattle by far. The ghee roast, biryani and naan lived up to expectations. I also really loved the atmosphere and decor/ ambiance. This is the old restaurant Rasai. I was never a fan of food there so even with a name change there is nothing different. Everything we ordered was extremely average with no flavors. Ordering mild food meant going bland with no spice and no salt. All the food came in random order. Ambiance is really old and can use a good cleaning. For reference we ordered kuthu porotta (no flavor), paneer biryani - felt like yellow rice with some paneer curry, dosa which was okaish (masala was bland), sesame gobhi (which was probably the only thing good). Overall won't recommend this place if you want to eat good indian food. 2.5/5 from my end for place. read more
