The Bangalore Kitchen has been on my list for a really long time. As someone from Bangalore, definitely wanted to try this place in the Ballard Farmers Market. The place was pretty busy on a rainy Sunday morning at around 11:30ish. There was a decent wait especially for the doses. I absolutely get why cause they were piping hot. The dose was good and the side of chutney was perfect. My friends tried the donne Biryani and they said it was decent. It's a great place to try authentic Bangalore food if you're around the area!

Was recommended to come here that this is the best Indian food in Seattle. It has a limited menu since it's a food stall at the Ballard Sunday market. We got the butter masala dosa. It was crispy on the outside and had masala potatoes inside. It was delicious but not sure if I would say this is the best Indian food of Seattle.

They are in Ballard Farmers market and have the best dosa available in the Seattle area. You need to get there early, or will need to wait in line for a long time. We usually get a couple dosa's, sometimes idli and sambar, and then something from their specials menu. We love their Masala Dosa, and Podi dosa. Their Idli and sambar is amazing.

A great spot tucked into the corner of the Ballard farmer's market -- all of the aunties and uncles were in line, so you know it's authentic. The line gets long but it moves fairly quickly, would recommend coming early. The Podi Dosa was delicious -- came out fresh and piping hot. The Masala Puri was great too!

Went there two weekends in a row on a recent visit to Seattle! Lines and general wait times can get long if you don't get there early. Just get the Masala Pudi Dosa and thank me later :)

Tried their special off idli sambar today and was disappointed. Sambar felt like boiled lentils soup. No flavour.. I was missing the tang of the tamarind. Missing the punch of the tomatoes and the smell of fresh curry leaves. Idlis were ok. They're soft but didn't give me that wow feeling. For $12.09 for three idlis and sambar, seems a bit over priced. Also I suggest to serve some coconut chutney with this.

This is a hidden south Indian gem that most Seattleites don't know exists right among them. And as a pop up station at the Sunday Ballard Market too. For those who know about traditional Bangalore dosas (Vidyarthi Bhavan, MTR etc) this place will be a welcome revelation, especially given the grim South Indian restaurant scene in the Seattle area. We savored their Benne (butter) masala dosa as well as their Pudi (spiced powder) dosa. And we sampled their chow-chow bhath (a mix of spiced Khara bhath and sweet Kesar bhath) too. The butter content is just apt - flavorful but not crazily indulgent. The fermentation of the batter is just right and the lingering taste is mwaah! Alas, they're only open on Sundays at the Ballard market, but maybe that's ok - good food *should* be hard to track down and a delight to discover. Enjoy, folks!

Home away from home! Excellent dosas (or Doseys, a lot of varieties at that). Fabulous pop-up at the Ballard Farmer's Market, right across the street from Cafe Umbria. Or you could just let the smell of ghee guide you to them :D They have a lot of wonderful options like Plain/Masala Dose, Pudi Masale Dose, Chow Chow Bath (a sweet and savory combo dish), Bisibelebath (rice and lentils based tangy dish) and sometimes unique desserts too. I'm just thrilled to have a place that finally makes amazing doseys in the PNW. The doseys are crispy and tasty and a treat! They do sell out very soon. Plan early to find parking around the area which could get crazy due to the farmers market crowd. It took us 30 mins to find parking. You could follow their Instagram page (Tbk.Seattle) to keep up with their changing menu and/or their schedules. Go get a good dosey and thank me later!

It's hard to find a good dosa in Seattle but this one hits everytime. Stop by and try it when you're at the Ballard farmers Market!

I tried the chicken tikka roll and lamb kebab roll and they were excellent! Lots of meat and the protein was seasoned well. I also got the chana chaat which is a chickpea salad! Very tasty and flavorful too. I was stuffed and had enough for leftovers. I probably didn't need to get 2 Kathi rolls and a snack but I wanted to try everything and it was worth it! I also tried their seasonal soft serve which was lychee this month and it was really good! It has good lychee flavor without tasting artificial and overly sweet. I definitely recommend this spot! It's great for a fast casual meal, great value and quality for the price. They have some tables inside if you want to eat there too.

I got the lamb kebab roll, aloo tikki chaat, and mango lassi. Portions are on the smaller side but super affordable, so it makes sense. The lamb kebab roll was smaller, so I'd advise two if you're really hungry. The lamb was good, although I felt a little one note and could use more pickled onions and chutney. The mango lassi was small, but thick and filling. Class mango lassi flavor, a little bit more on the spice-y side. The real star of the show was the aloo tikki chaat. I've never had it before and was blown away. Crispy potato patties covered in yogurt, pomegranate, some crunchy topping I don't know the name of, and a sweet tamarind sauce. The perfect balance of textures and flavors. Went so incredibly well with the lamb kebab roll - this is a must order!! I will definitely be back to try some of the other sides and rolls.

Indian takeout on St. Patrick's Day, oops my bad. Most likely this takeout was cobbled together from the lunch buffet. Overall the cuisine was a decent variety and generously packaged. Each takeout box had basmati rice, peas & carrots in a tomato based sauce, bite sized samosas, with the main entrees provided were butter chicken, saag paneer, and chicken vindaloo. Reasonable to call it a takeout thali. Can't speak to ambiance because it was takeout. Service was swift and efficient, showed my TGTG order and handed a bag with two takeout containers. In, out, and go. I was glad for the thick plastic bag because it was overfilled, oozed out, and could have been a mega mess in the car heading back home. What was missing was the ka-pow flavor! Indian cuisine usually has mega flavor and palate pleasing. This did not align with my earlier visits from way back when. Perhaps I'm accustomed to fave Indian spots in the UDistrict. But when brought home, another family member,The Homie, agreed on this assessment when we later dined at home. Not bad, not great. Kind of a let down from my earlier memories of India Bistro. With the vast regional Indian spots in Seattle and across the lake in Bellevue and Redmond, I kind of expected OG India Bistro to be gold standard. Just okay, hence the three stars for this TGTG experience.

The currys were piping hot and delicious. I've struggled to find great butter masala in Seattle, and taste of India's hit the mark! Not pictured, but their naans are huge. My husband and I each ordered naan, and the amount of rice, curry, and naan was the perfect amount for a full serving of leftovers. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary samosa appetizers and chocolate torte dessert. Ultimately this place is fantastic and we look forward to coming back- would love to come on a summer evening and sit outside on their patio.

so, this place is pretty clearly, and almost objectively so, made exclusively for westerners…read more what i mean by that is that this place serves Indian food that will not attempt to challenge western palettes in any way - rather its goal is to have people walking out with a mildly positive attitude towards the food. if someone were to ask them how the food was, they will say that it's fine and say that indian food is an underrated cuisine. the first indication of this that caught my eye was on the menu, where it was listed that "all spice levels are American standard". The fact that this is on the menu at an *Indian restaurant* is pretty ridiculous, in my opinion. I'll get to the spice levels later The second indication was when the waiter brought out our naan, and said "Here's your naan bread". I almost laughed out loud at this point. Naan bread? Thank god we didn't order chai or he would've said "Here's your chai tea". when we actually got our food, it was as disappointing as I expected Despite the fact that I ordered the 'Hot' spice level (the second highest), this had utterly no spice at all. I know that I have a high spice tolerance, but you know it's not good when other people at my table who have a low tolerance cannot taste any spice whatsoever. I've had hotter dishes ordering the 'Hot' level at American restaurants! In addition to there not being any spice, there was pretty much no flavor at all to the curries. There was just no point to the gravy on both the Jaipuri "Masala" and the Vegetable Kofta, as it both cases it was quite bland and essentially tasted like nothing. The paneer and the kofta were ok - but nothing more than average. Again, the lack of any kind of flavor is just crazy. Our table also got the Biryani, which had decent vegetables but also suffered from a lack of flavor The roti and garlic naan that we got were really hard and difficult to break apart. not very good at all If you're Indian - do not come here - you'll get far better Indian food either a) at home or b) at another place If you're not Indian - I would highly recommend trying another place to actually get a taste of what Indian food is really like. This watered-down version simply isn't it. I would recommend Saffron Grill in Northgate for an example of Indian food done correctly on the positive side, one thing i appreciated about this menu is the customization available for different curries this is especially helpful when it relates to giving options to vegetarians, as it doesn't restrict people who are vegetarian to specific curry options having paneer, vegetables, and tofu options available for each curry is pretty good i also thought the spinach naan was pretty good. out of all the bread we ordered, it was the only naan that managed to be soft, and easy to pull apart the spinach inside tasted pretty good as well the complimentary samosas (although clearly reheated from frozen) and sweet at the end was a decent touch the portion sizes were also decent - the amount of rice that came with the curry was pretty significant

The low spice level was good for my weak palate and overall the flavors were solid. In particular, I liked the veggie curry. Service: This was where the experience felt lackluster. It took well over 10 minutes for the one server (not her fault, they're lowkey understaffed for a Sunday lunch) to make their way to our table after we were sat. Our waters were never filled once after the initial filling (why would we still be expected to tip?), and the food took longer than average to come out than I've had at other Indian establishments. Granted, the food was better than I've had at other Indian places, but the time it took for things to come out was a bit longer than we would've liked. The plates that were at our table were also definitely cleaned poorly. The restaurant is only a GOOD rating out of five on the cleanliness scale (inspection done by the health department in the state of WA) and I think that does not come without reason. My plate still had some food remnants and smudges from previous servings. Atmosphere: Pretty decent place to talk, seating was fine, bathrooms were clean.
