Chicken Katsu
Jona R.

This place definitely improved when a new owner stepped in a couple years ago. He's always so nice and friendly, whereas the previous man was always so grumpy. My go to is their chicken katsu. I think it's made with mochiko flour because it tastes a little sweet, which I prefer. Their portions have also improved since my last review. New picture included of their katsu from yesterday. I also like their gyoza and yakisoba. Their drive through option is also super convenient! I usually call ahead or order online (through uber eats or door dash) and pick up through the drive through. Their inside dining area is small but at least there's a place to sit down if you needed one.

Got the chicken Katsu, 10 piece gyoza, and the beef yakisoba and it was all 10/10. The drive through is such a cool feature of this lake stevens staple that's been around for YEARS! But I suggest calling ahead as they make it to order and it takes like 20 min to make and it's fresh!! So yummy! The katsu is wonderful and crispy, some of the best in the area. Gyoza are always hott and crispy as well. Can't go wrong there. And the yakisoba portions are insane. The amount of food they give you overall is great for the price. I've never been disappointed in the quality of the food nor the service. The meals also come with a side salad and the salad dressing is some secret recipe that's so good! Some Mayo base! If you've never been I highly reccomend.

Good food and great service, love the drive through and the fast paced employees. Will always recommend!

The spicy teriyaki was spot on. The rice was good too. The salad had some old pieces in it, but overall was pretty tasty. The egg rolls were a little too big in my opinion. Paying $2 for a Kirkland bottle of water is a little exaggerated. $27 for two plates and two drinks. I would come back, but definitely want to see what else is out there!

Their fine China you get if you order it to eat in the joint.

Mongolian beef is expensive and the quality of beef has gone way down. Not worth the money!

I love Yumiko's. I stick to teriyaki or yakisoba. It's the best I've had in LS and Evt. Plus, they have a drive up window.

I highly recommend the spicy chicken teriyaki, then mixing in the salad and salad dressing.

The menu offers a solid variety of sushi rolls and sashimi, and everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh. You can tell there's real attention to quality and presentation here. Service was just as impressive--our waiter was warm, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which always elevates the experience. Overall, a great spot for fresh sushi and a relaxed vibe. I'll absolutely be back, especially to take full advantage of that happy hour next time.

While looking over the menu, my wife ordered a 16oz draft Sapporo for $8 and I ordered a glass of Toscano Sangiovese for $13. My wine pour did not seem like a full 5oz standard pour but rather a 4oz reduced pour. We shared the Chicken Karaage for $15.95: Japanese Fried Chicken. The appetizer was undercooked and visually unappealing. My wife ordered the Pork Katsu Donburi for $16.45. Served with Miso Soup. Bland. I ordered the Hamalapeno Roll for $18.95: crab mix, avocado and cucumber, topped with fresh jalapeno. After dinner my wife sipped on a 1oz Jameson pour for $10. I sipped on an Old Fashioned for $15. Service was decent. Overall, Kiyama Sushi is overpriced serving underwhelming food. We will not return.

Katsu Burger does not offer any alcohol. During our visit we ordered the Pork Banzai Bites for $6.95. We actually wasted/tossed this item due to the flavorless and toughness of the pork. My wife ordered the Ohayou Gozaimasu for $13.95: Beef Katsu, Fried Egg, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Tonkatsu Sauce and Japanese Mayo. I ordered the Godzilla Attack Spicy with Chicken for $12.50: 12 Spice Sprinkled on Chicken Katsu, Jalapenos (pickled), Pepper Jack Cheese, Tonakatsu Sauce and Spicy Mayo. I ordered my burger without a bun and all the burger toppings. I was disappointed that the jalapenos were pickled rather than freshly sliced. After trying the pork, beef and chicken, we both decided that the chicken was the better tasting of them all. Overall, Katsu Burger did not impress either one of us. Staff wasn't friendly. Katana is one of our favorite higher end sushi spots and always has a great date night vibe. It was super busy for the holiday, but the staff handled it really well and everything came out quickly. We ordered the shishito peppers, calamari, and spicy tuna roll from the HH menu, plus the 12th Man roll and shrimp tempura roll. Definitely recommend coming during happy hour because the prices are great and the portions are still full size. We'll have to come back after the baby arrives so I can fully enjoy the experience (and cocktails)

Our server was warm and walked us through the menu, helping us decide on the cracked out bluefin for an appetizer and a variety of rolls. The bluefin was the best part of our meal. Spicy, flavorful, and the wonton chips were a fun addition. The other rolls, however, didn't feel of the highest quality. We were super excited about the crispy firecracker, but the roll lacked salmon and wasn't a bit spicy. Overall, I probably wouldn't return here. For the price point, there are better options in the area.
