So happy to have this spot nearby! It was easy to order online and schedule for a 5pm pickup. I arrived about 5 mins early and my order was ready! Food was warm and tasty. The juicy pork dumplings were so good! My son loved the shrimp chow mein, and we liked the green beans too. The garlic broccoli was tasty but they were too soggy, that's my only critique! Clean place and easy customer service. read more

Cold weather calls for warm delicious food. And Yum Dumpling doesn't disappoint. The portions are generous and the flavors are flowing. The beef noodle soup is the best I've ever had. My fam devoured the noodles and orange chicken leaving only the little red chilis behind. Next round pan fried dumplings and of course more beef noodle soup. A friend recommended Yum Dumpling to me about a month ago, and ever since, I've been wanting to go. Tonight, my husband and I tried it for the first time. We ordered Spring Rolls, Juicy Pork Dumplings, and Spicy Signature Flavored Beef Noodle Soup. The Spring Rolls were a hard pass. I thought they'd be light and refreshing. Sadly, they were fried, oily, and the filling wasn't great (lacked flavorful and skimpy on the inside). The Juicy Pork Dumplings and Spicy Signature Flavored Beef Noodle Soup were hits. The dumplings were super flavorful and juicy. The soup satisfied my spicy beef noodle soup craving, especially in this rainy weather. Next time I'm in the mood for Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, I know where to go. Parking wasn't a problem for us, but I did want to mention that it is a small parking lot. When this restaurant is busy and crowded, I can see parking being an issue. read more

Thanks to a recent Yelp email, we decided to try this place this week. Unfortunately, Yelp's listing claims they were open 7 days a week, but of course, when we stopped by on Tuesday, the sign on the day stated that they were closed on Tuesdays! Bah! We ended up getting the Chinese-American lunch special at nearby Orange Blossom instead. We tried our luck today (Thursday afternoon) for a late lunch/early dinner. At 4pm, several people were picking up to-go orders, but there were no dine-in customers. We were invited to sit anywhere we liked. The server offered our choice of hot water or cold. I prefer iced water. Later, we added hot tea for me, and Coke for Hubby. We selected the Juicy Pork Dumplings, Pork and Chinese Cabbage Pan-Fried Dumplings, and Beef Chow Fun. With such a small location, you could hear the wok finishing up, so I knew the noodles were done. Being Cantonese, I like hot mustard with my chow fun. Unfortunately, there was none available. The noodles were fine, and the meat was tender, but needed more flavor. The soup dumplings were large! The bamboo steamer was filled with the 8 pieces. Black vinegar and soy sauce were on the table to make the dipping sauce as we liked. The pan-fried dumplings had a nice color, but I was getting full, so only tried one. Hubby was still hungry, so we added Hot and Sour Soup. It took a little time to get to the table, but it finally arrived, piping hot and delicious. By the time we left, the tables were filling up, and the takeout orders were continuing to be picked up. According to the server, they've been open almost 2 months. Nice that they are close by. The place is clean with good menu choices. Everything is freshly prepared. read more

Love the beef chow-fun here. It's tasty and the beef is tender. If you want more flavor add a bit of soy sauce. If you like spicy.... add some of their chili in oil... a little goes a long way. I've seen this physical location rotate through so many concepts throughout the years. Remember when this used to be a yogurt concept Cherry On Top? This location has never been good for businesses because it's such an awkward entry point from the street, and I hope Yum Dumpling bucks the trend because the food here is phenomenal. I knew I was in for a good time when I sat down and saw the menu and spoke with the waitress. We had a wonderful lady waitress and she didn't speak a lick of English. I believe her and her son run the restaurant, but just my speculation. I knew I was in for at the very least, a very authentic experience. I ordered the shrimp wonton and signature beef noodle soup. To order you use a whiteboard marker on the menu and circle what you want, and for the beef noodle soup I just wrote Spicy next to the item and they had the heat added. The food here is one of the best dumpling experiences in the area. For the longest time I have felt orange county lacked good dim sum and dumpling locations. Sure Din Tai Fung and Paradise Dynasty are delicious, but you're paying up for the location more so than the food. Though this food is a bit different, wonton and traditional dumplings vs a specialty XLB, the food and sauces here are so good I would easily pick coming here over those locations in a pinch. Regarding the beef noodle soup, yes this place is miles better than A&J Restaurnat in Irvine in my opinion. Both are good but I would 100% pick this every time. Flavors are amazing, food is phenomenal, and service is as authentic as you can expect from a Chinese establishment. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the orange county area, and I really hope this establishment becomes a staple. I've seen so many concepts fail here just due to the location, so please check it out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I recently visited Yum Dumplings located at a corner plaza on Chapman and had an okay experience. The restaurant is bright with lots of available seats for Sunday lunch and service was friendly, and the atmosphere was casual, making it a good spot for a quick meal. The dumplings were freshly made, with a nice variety of fillings to choose from. The only disappointment was the "stale" green onion pancakes and small serving size for $8. This was neither enjoyable nor worth the price, so I would recommend skipping it. The dry spicy dry noodles were a disappointment. It's neither dry or spicy but coated with peanut sauce. The flavors were good, and the dumplings had a decent texture--soft on the outside with a nice bite on the inside.I did find that some of the dumplings could have been a bit more flavorful, and the portions were a little on the smaller side for the price. I finally tried Yum Dumpling, and I can definitely see why people recommend it! Their chow mein has a unique smoky flavor that's hard to find anywhere else, and it's absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and you can tell they put a lot of care into the food. The restaurant itself is very clean, and they have a great selection of fruit teas to choose from. The manager was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. This place is definitely a hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back. Yum Dumpling is a great spot for casual Chinese food. They have your classic Chinese American dishes like beef and broccoli, fried rice, and honey walnut shrimp plus a sizable selection of noodle soups and dumplings. I tried the beef rice noodle soup, which was super flavorful and the thinly sliced beef on top was tender and juicy. The broth has a rich beef flavor and is only slightly spicy, so it's perfect for drinking. Both the pork buns and the pan fried pork dumplings were juicy and delicious. The minute you walk in they are nice and welcoming! With a lovely looking inside ambiance . Taking a seat they bring yiur mwnue and water and let you look the menu was easy to read and had plenty of pictures for to see what you were ordering. The spam masubi was delicious and had a present dipping sauce also. The juicy pork Xiao long bao was to die for! It had such nice flavor and with the soup inside the dumpling it made the perfect bite. When refilling water, the new waiter was annoyed I didn't bring my glass up to get filled fast enough for him to stand by and do me the favor as he would rather go back to the counter to jump on his phone. It's the same with the main guy talker wears a hat. Both would rather jump on their phones then come check in on you or get you some water. They really should just put a water station or give each table a carafe of water and let us refill it ourselves if they don't want to do it. Being a relatively new restaurant, they should really appreciate all their customers coming in and make them feel welcome as these are the people who will keep them in business and recommend this to others. My suggestion is to find someone to be your host that genuinely likes to interact with people and make them provide an enjoyable dining experience. You can let the other 2 guys just bring food out and bus tables.

I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. The pad kra pao is another favorite, especially since I don't see it at every Thai restaurant. The yellow chicken curry was rich, with potatoes and carrots cooked to the perfect soft bite. We also got the pork fried rice and it was SO good. I also enjoyed the Thai Nam Tok too, especially after recently having the Lao version somewhere else. It was interesting comparing the two, which btw the Lao version I had was much fishier, herbier and spicier. Definitely one of my neighborhood comfort spots and somewhere I'll keep recommending. It may not quite hit that "5 star" category for me, but when I want good Thai food close to home, Nava Thai is an easy choice. 9/10
