On top of that the staff was very knowledgeable about special considerations for my particular car. The staff member helping me, Laakea, offered to install the battery and did a great job. Thanks for the really good, efficient service!

Most people would go to their neighborhood auto parts store to get those spark plugs, oil or whatever you needed. There aren't as many stores as before but you can still find them. Here in the Kaimuki/Kapahulu area of east Honolulu, one of the larger Auto parts stores is AutoZone. They stock just about anything you might need for repair or maintenance outside of real specialty items you might need to get directly from the car dealership. The stuff you are likely to do yourself such as oil change, wiper blades, coolant, battery, etc can probably be found here. Although cars have gotten pretty complex, if you know what you are doing you can likely find the product you need here. AutoZone had a nice-sized parking lot and it's easy to look for your what you need or employees to talk to about products but also advice for minor issues. A nice neighborhood auto parts store with friendly staff for your do it yourself auto needs.

When I told her what I was looking for, she directed me to the correct aisle and even guided me from across the store, calling out "keep going" until I reached the product. At checkout, she helped me select the correct product for my application. When I I couldn't find the plastic bag I had used to carry in my parts, she pointed out that I hadn't brought the bag to the register and suggested I had probably left it in the aisle. Sure enough, that's exactly where it was. The manager's friendliness, attentiveness, and helpfulness made my visit especially enjoyable.

It was a first for me to walk into this auto parts store location in Nu'uanu, as I normally frequent the McCully location where the old Cinerama Theater used to be. Now if you remember the long lines of people waiting to see Star Wars at the Cinerama Theater, then you one OLD FUT like me! Buwahahahahahaha! I must say this O'Reilly Auto Parts store in Nu'uanu is by far the largest auto parts store that I've every walked into. Out of curiosity, when I was walking around in the store, I decided to check out the electronics section, and came across a Type-C Auxiliary Adapter that was looking for to hook up my smart phone to my stereo in my car, as my old stereo didn't have Bluetooth. Although the price was pretty reasonable at O'Reilly (about $16 - $20 bucks for one cable), I didn't need it right away & decided to look online at Ebay & I ended up getting four cables for just $6 bucks. Can we say DEALAGES Yo??? Lol! Although I didn't end up buying anything, but killed some good time, I wouldn't hesitate to come back here should I need something specific for my hot rod in the near future.
