Called at 7am to see if they could do a safety check early in the morning and the person on the phone said they started doing safety check as soon as they opened. I would just have to line up behind the other cars (indicating they were already busy? He was calm and courteous, not being rude but perhaps letting me know there would be a "wait") When I got there a spot opened up and the worker waved me to a section. They were quick, 2 guys went over my car. Again both were courteous and professional. Very thorough, I thought I wasn't going to pass because they looked over my car more meticulous than other places I've been to. I thought maybe I've been flagged for something wrong. Highly recommend going to them. I was in-and-out reasonably quick during a very busy time. read more

Pulled up to typically busy inspection lines. Sat and watched 4-5 employees some walking around some just standing doing nothing. I watch the inspection lady stop inspections and start moving cars. Meanwhile there are 2 other guys doing nothing. Makes no sense whatsoever. It literally looked like a 3 ring circus with total confusion. Nope. Not today. Ain't goin back. read more

Drive through safety check! It took exactly 10 minutes since there were 3 people checking cars and 2 lanes. You don't need to leave your car and they all were very friendly and fast! I came at 3:20pm on a Wednesday and left at 3:30pm. Definitely coming back here to do my safety check in the future! Excellent, fast service! read more

Charles and his team are my go mechanics. I have gone here for multiple things including break changes, engine repairs, and basic safety and routine maintenance. Charles is transparent, helpful and his prices are extremely reasonable. I was referred here by my friend, and would suggest them when anyone I know says they are looking for a local mechanic. Highly recommend. read more

Updating my review. Today came for an oil change and waited from about 640am and there were a few cars ahead of me already (the shop opens at 7am). Luckily I'm not here for a safety check because being the first day of the month, everyone else was here for that. So the owner informed me that today's a great day for an oil change (they only do 8 vehicle's a day). Pro tip (from the big boss himself), come at the beginning of the month for an oil change if can. Check em out. Come early. A long line forms EASILY and FAST. They're that popular and trusted by many. Great value too! read more

Now these guys, McCully Union Service, have their stuff together! SUPER fast, efficient and SUPER courteous staff! It's a drive-thru required annual Hawai'i Safety Check station; an actual drive- thru! And it truly lives up to its name: there are two separate lanes with one person servicing both lanes while a second person is on the side uploading all relevant information, collecting the required annual fee and taking the necessary pictures to be uploaded to the State system as a double check. Both of these gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, courteous, fast and efficient! Although, the location is on the other side of the island from where we live, it is well worth the travel over the mountain because of the time you save making, to me anyway, a huge value! I give McCully Union Service my personal 5-Shaka rating! read more

I needed to get my safety check done and happened to be in the area, so I decided to stop by McCully Union Service. Despite there being a few cars ahead of me, the wait was quick and painless. Once it was my turn, the entire inspection took less than 10 minutes. The gentleman who helped me was extremely friendly and efficient. One detail I really appreciated was how he took the time to remove my stack of old safety check stickers before applying the new one, a small gesture that made a big difference. I was very impressed with the service and efficiency here. McCully Union Service will definitely be my go to spot for renewing my annual safety check from now on! read more

Drove up on a random day to get my safety check done after my usual place told me they couldn't help until the following Monday. It was so fast! I didn't even have to get out of my car. Paid $27 and headed out in a flash. They might just be my go to for quick jobs like this now. I saw other reviews mentioning long lines, but I guess I got lucky. When I went (around 1pm) there wasn't anyone else in the safety check line. read more

Charles and Gina are the best in service here! This review is long overdue. This family is full of heart and they're a hardworking local family run business. Quick, efficient and friendly service here. Today, I went in for a safety check. A very short wait if you go in early. Carlin helped us today. He has worked there for many years and he knows what to do ! They have mechanics who will repair most of your car needs. This business is busy with work requests so there may be wait times. I only have myself to blame for waiting until the last minute to get my safety check done. I overlooked 3 small bulbs that are the "Gotcha Kine" when having your car looked over by professionals! The Safety Check itself is reasonable at $25.00 but gets Expensive if you want it fixed on the spot! Safety check, 3 new light bulbs $105.31! $20.00 X 3 light bulbs for labor, tax & 3% .76 cent fee? Still great teamwork here, that gets you in and out very expediently! I'm very satisfied with their service. Next time I will be more aware of when my check is due and look my car over, could have saved $60.00 by changing those bulbs myself! Definitely the place to get your safety check done fast and right! Five Stars for being efficient and providing fast, friendly service. read more

I've been going to this place for 5 years now, and always had a great experience. This last time was the worst experience I have ever had at a business. There website says first come first serve as well as there voicemail for there business. I went there this morning at 8:45 am and was third in line to be served to get my safety check done. A guy walked up and split the cars that were behind me after I was waiting for over 20 minutes already and the cars that were behind me were serviced before me after he split the line. I asked the guy a question why they are being serviced first when I was before him. This guy got rude and told me I can go somewhere else. I pulled up finally and he told me he would not service me at all and I had to go somewhere else. This is a clear case of discrimination because I am white, it was very clear, and I have never felt so disrespected going to a business is my life. This place is beyond horrible and should not be allowed to be open and service people, the most unprofessional business I have ever gone too. I feel so disrespected by them I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau as well. I feel discriminated against 100%. If you want to be treated fairly and with respect do not go to this establishment. read more

I was super impressed last week when McCully Union, using electronic analysis and numerous road tests, was able to identify a faulty fuel injector as the cause of an intermittent cylinder misfire on my 2007 Toyota RAV4. In the past I had always taken the car to the Toyota Service Center as I incorrectly believed that only the dealership had the expertise and diagnostic equipment to correct major engine issues. But after two days of troubleshooting and Charles providing me with detailed explanations, I am convinced that I can get the same level of service at McCully Union Service at significantly less cost (while also avoiding the many days it takes to get an appointment for service at the dealership)! read more

Every time I come here the crew is so friendly. No matter what it is they get straight to figuring it out. Up front quote and pricing. Never trying to upsell something I dont need. BEST SAFETY CHECK EXPERIENCE EVERRRR Been going here for my safety for maybe the last 3-4 years and they are ALWAYS AMAZING!!! You can "drive in/thru" no appt needed (unlike other places booked out for months) and although there may be a slight wait (I've never waited more than 15 mins), it's always bing bang boom in and out!!! They're seriously the best and nicest too-- even when it can be crazy busy-- they always have a good attitude. I live Kaaawa and make the drive just to get it done here. Service is always kind welcoming and efficient even when there's a wait. They are quick. I requested service inspection. All the rave is true!! I've passed here almost on a daily basis and have heard so much though there's always a line of cars here so I instantly didn't think of even trying here only to be wrong with how fast their service is. Finally got my safety check all done in just minutes not hours like everyone else is quoting hours just be sure to have all your papers and just follow and stay in the cones that lead you to the covered area. The staff will guide you forward and just pay attention to his instructions to show all what he needs to see and that's it...poof! He put my stickers on and I was on my way with so much time to spare where I drove for miles when all I had to do is stay in my neighborhood local service station who still gives excellent service is something to seriously brag about and be proud...adulting doesn't have to be painful with the right place that just knows what they're doing.
