Love this gas station that still offers Full Service & Gas & Go Services! Hooray for me! I don't like pumping gas! Had a bad experience a long time ago! I think it's local owned and offers Safety Check and car services! The people are very nice and friendly! Location: Harding Ave and 12th Avenue in the 76 gas station They've come through for me several times when I had a low tire pressure warning, and even though they had self service only on the day I went, as long as I bought gas, they filled my tires for free. Blake the owner, is an upstanding businessman in the community who provides service with Aloha and integrity. I brought my car in for a safety inspection and left it for the day. Blake called me to let me know that I needed a couple of "mechanical repairs" before the car would pass. At the end of the day, I took an Uber from work before they closed. They replaced a rear window light for just $6.18. When I went to my car the rear window was completely shattered. I let Blake know and he throughly inspected the window and area around my car. He shared with me security video surveillance- which showed no nefarious activity. Blake suggested that we call HPD to file a report. HPD showed up and I filed a claim. Then, he took my car to have the window replaced and brought it back to his establishment. Paid in full. What I would like to say about Blake as a neighborhood service provider is that the way in which he handled the situation. With calm patience and Aloha. This is why I support LOCAL! Scheduled an appointment and when I arrived the mechanic would not work on the vehicle because it has modifications. If you have anything modified on your vehicle save your time, gas and energy going someplace else. He was extremely rude about it as well. Went to this station last week and meant to post a review but its been so busy with the holidays. I had to have full service fill up on my van for work. A younger gentleman pumped my gas, did the windows, tires, checked under the hood. He provided excellent customer service and I am kicking myself for not getting his name for the review (younger, very tan, tattoos both arms, good looking guy) because he's really an asset to this location. He was so friendly, polite, but also had good knowledge about servicing. I will definitely come back! read more

Asked if I could use the air hose. The worker told me it costs $6 bucks to use the hose. Full service or self service they shouldn't be charging $6. Regular gas statins that have paying air stations don't even charge that rate. read more

I came here around 8am hoping to get my safety check done before I had to head to work, but I was told that safety checks didn't start until 10am. No problem. I'll come back later. I came back at 9:45am and I was handed a piece of paper. He began to tell me that they're really busy and can't take me right now and that I should read the paper. He seemed a little stressed out. I asked if I could just wait but, again, I was told they couldn't take me right away and I should just read the paper. I wasn't too upset. I ended up driving to the Aina Haina 76 and was out of there in 7 minutes. I'm not too sure when Harding Services changed their safety check policies, but I remember that my last safety check here took around 40 minutes with two cars in front of me. It was in the late afternoon, however, and I did appreciate being able to get a safety check after work. The paper is thorough and names a few other stations in the area that give safety checks. When you go to a mechanic shop these are the kind of mechanics you only wish to find working on your vehicle. A respectful family owned business with trustworthy and truthful mechanics. Every time I had taken my vehicle over to Harding Service they had always found the issue. Blake (Mechanic), Shane (Front of House) and the other mechanics at his shop are the best around the island! I have been taking my vehicle to Harding service for over ten years and they have always helped us out no matter what is the issue! The front of the house is always friendly and we are always greeted by Shane! When taking my vehicle for a repair I drop my vehicle off and have no issues leaving my vehicle there as Blake always calls if there is an issue with the vehicle and let's me know what the issue is before any repairs are done. I'm so grateful to have found this shop as they have shown me the greatest care in service and utmost respect. No matter what issue they come across, they find the issue and fix it with no problem. I've had brake jobs, axles changed, safety's checked, gas filled, etc... The Harding service does it all and I am truly grateful for their kind, dedicated and hard work over the years to keeping my vehicle in check! A true mechanic shop, no cutting corners or bs. Over the years I learned some mechanic shops can be a bit sketchy. Some may be money hungry, rip you off and do things of those sorts. Both my 2006 Honda CRV and 2009 Mini Cooper needed safety checks same month so I made 2 appointments at the Harding Avenue 76 station to drop them off consecutive days the following week, but neither inspection was done to my satisfaction, for completely different reasons. Both cars are in great condition with low miles and I take good care of them. So I dropped the Mini Cooper early in the morning, came back later that afternoon to find out they had failed it because of tire wear. They told me to buy four new tires because they had measured and the tires were all out of spec. That same day I took the car down to Alan's, Kaimuki auto repair and they did the inspection and it passed just fine, mechanic said the tires are fine. Next day dropped the Honda off at the Harding 76, they completed the inspection. But when it was time to pay the $21 I saw the bill was $45, they had replaced one of the windshield wipers. So I paid $24 for one windshield wiper. I will never go here again, total rip off. I wanted to like the place bc the guys I spoke with seemed nice but there was literally NOTHING happening in the mechanics bays and they said I d need to make an apprenticeship for the following week. Strange, but also excessively stringent and overpriced. Yes Alan's is busy but so much better than this place in every other way! read more

Forgot that I also noticed an indicator light on my dash. Tires needed air. Attendant filled 4 tires, light didn't go off. He emptied my trunk & filled my spare. Waited for me to check indicator. It is rare for people to help you just because.... but I am proud to tell you it happened here! Even my usual service station charges to check and full my tires. However, in a panic due to that gosh-darn light coming on, I stopped at Harding Service to pay whatever it took to get rid of the warning light. They stopped what they were doing, calmly asked me about the problem and checked and filled all four of my tires. FO' FREE! I was so thankful and really appreciated their kindness. Great service and caring people. My car would not go into gear at Longs and I was dead in the water. Blake helped me get a tow and arranged it so I could leave my car and not miss work. By the end of the day he had it fixed and he also checked my brakes. He gave me useful information of what to be aware of in the future, which was far and beyond any kind of service I have ever gotten from other service stations. In my hurry to pick up the car, I forgot my mask. Because we are still in a pandemic. They would not allow me in the office because an elderly worker was in there. Went to get a safety check and asked the guy nicely if he could remove the old one and put the new one on the bracket I installed - he tells me I have to remove the old sticker myself before he can put my new one on the bracket... WTF?!? Is it really that hard to help a girl out and removed it for me... geesh... Will never go back there again!!! And suggest that no one else should go there either!!! read more

Great service station for getting your safety check! I have been coming to this 76 Gas Station for the past 4 years and I am very satisfied with their efficiency and service. The older Japanese man always does my safety check. He is friendly, efficient and offers good customer service. I just came back to get my safety check on June 30th at about 5pm (yep, I wait till the last day of the month!). Although they were about to close, the man told me that since it was the last day of the month, he'd do my safety check. I really appreciate that the staff here cares about their customers and are willing to put in that little bit of extra time. Called them this afternoon to see if it was possible to get a Safety Check done today, the guy on the phone said come on down, I was there in 10 minutes and the first guy started on the paperwork while the other guy ran through the inspection. I was done in less than 10 minutes. If they gave this kind of service for a Safety Check which is no $$ for them can you imagine the service they would provide for a paying job! My hats off to them! I came in this morning for a safety check. I spoke with Blake and he not only took care of my safety check but he went above and beyond. He took me in even though I didn't have an appointment. He called me regularly with any and all updates. Blake even went so far as to make necessary adjustments with one of my lights because "for him it was an easy fix". Not easy for normal people who don't know about cars. I felt as if I were a VIP customer when I haven't come here for my safety check in about a decade since I live near the airport. Where do I start! I went there today for a safety inspections. I had a new safety plate/bracket on my car and as soon as the guy started the inspection, I kindly asked him to place the new sticker on the nice new bracket at the bottom of the bumper. Three (3) minutes before he placed the sticker, I reminded him again about the bracket. He told me it was finished. I walk around to the truck and guess what....the sticker is on my freaking bumper!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS I SCREAMED!!! The guy didn't apologize or anything. Just told me not to remove it as it will break into pieces once I try to peel it off and relocate it. Wouldn't even give me another sticker or fix the blatant mistake after I asked! So pissed! Will never go back here again!!!! Please avoid this place! Only good thing is that it took all of 20 mins. read more

It's that dreaded time of year for me again....safety check & registration This was my very first time ever coming to this service station & I'm sure it'll be my new go-to spot. This is easily the closest station to my home & everyone who works here was very friendly. There was 3 or 4 cars in front of me when I pulled up & I waited about a half hour before it was my turn. The actual inspection only took about 5 minutes. A word of advice: the line for their safety inspections is in the first aisle (nearest the convenience shop) with all the vehicles entering from their driveway on 12th Ave. Come from Waialae & turn south on 12th Ave. then turn left into the driveway to get in line. The line gets long & if you come from Harding instead & get stuck trying to turn right into the driveway, traffic will back up & block the intersection. read more

I've been here a total of four times across three years for a variety of reasons. I really hoped to support a family operated business, but was disappointed that every time I came here I received incredibly poor service. During my last visit I went in for a safety check for an old vehicle that I used to drive. It's really beat up, & not attractive at all but it still drives decently. The older gentleman informed me that if the vehicle doesn't pass the test for whatever reason I am still responsible for paying the fee for the safety check. I've been told this at other auto shops, so I consented stating that I understand. He proceeded to ask me very sternly & coldly five more times, almost as though he wanted me to change my mind about getting my car checked. My car passed the safety check, but I will never return again, nor do I recommend this establishment to anyone. There are too many options out there to simply settle for mediocre service. Two stars because despite the altercations, I left this place with whatever job I needed on my car completed. read more

I love this gas station because they're always friendly and willing to help me. George is always there to help me fill in air in my tires because honestly, I have no idea what I'm doing. He doesn't get mad when all I do is get air... but I do get gas sometimes. I know it's pricey in Kaimuki for gas because it seems like they price their gas with Kahala prices. But when you need gas, you need gas. They're fast for safety checks and it's nice that they do them until 5pm because honestly, by the time I'm done with work it's 4:45 and they tell me not to rush... so sweet! read more

I waited until the last minute to get a safety check and ended up here (I normally go to the car dealership). From now on, I will come here for a safety check, and maybe some other services as well. What sold me? First of all, they were very efficient with the safety checks, despite a line of four cars in front of me. They were also very service-oriented...the cashier came outside to make sure everyone was comfortable, moved me from the sun to the shade, and offered people candy (it was Halloween) and magazines to read while waiting. They also offer what I consider old-school customer service, a dying art these days. They may not all be Chatty Cathy's, but they're polite, and they're all hustling to get the job done right. read more

Exactly the same as the Unocal I've used for the past 30 years. Only reason for the change was due to proximity to my home. Location grants them 2 stars vs 1, and that they are polite. My biggest laugh is how when I went last year to get my safety check done, and because I didn't have a bunch of spare time, they got me. They charged me $25 to replace a 99 cent bulb by my license plate. The reason I know this is, within one month, the bulb went out again. I went to napa and was charged 99 cents. It took me ummm about 2 minutes to replace the bulb and 1:30 seconds was spend finding a Philips screw driver. I tried them a second time and this is what I was told. "Sorry but you need to wait with your car (mind you it's crazy hot out) for 45 min, before we can tell you if we can do the safety check today or not." I think the better way to say it is, sorry we are too slammed today. They won't let you leave your car and come back. They also blamed the DOT, because it takes them 3 guys to do the check. Really, they should go watch a 5 yr old use an iPad it's not that bad. Yes, good smile and nice apology, but a half maybe try wait a long time is worse than a sorry can't do it today. read more

When my safety inspection started, I should have known right away there would be issues. The person handling the inspection spent the first five minutes complaining about his previous customer. I found this unprofessional, but attempted to play along in order to receive good service myself. This tactic did not work. Harding Service was the second of three places I attempted to get my safety inspection completed. This was also the second of three places where I was told a different reason for the failure. Additionally, the previous reasons I was told it would fail at other safety inspection locations was not mentioned at this establishment. As someone new to the safety inspection process, it would have been nice to be treated fairly, with respect and educated on the process. Instead when I reasonably questioned the particular reason I was being failed for, the person handling the safety inspection became belligerent and started shouting at me. I'm not certain how this place handles auto repairs, but based on the service I received during my inspection, I will not be coming here for my repairs. read more

Ok local neighborhood gas station been around a long time in kaimuki. Parents used to go there to fill gas regularly. Once on the suggestion of one of the attendents ,suggested that a service be done,so older parents went with service not knowing better,notified me of service(timing belt change) when I came home,checked receipt and work, (ok).fast foward a couple years(mind you that parents don't drive far or often) and same service preformed again ..Hummm.ok from that time on I mentioned that if they suggest any repairs to notify me first.so to sum it up these guys have no concience what so ever to prey on senior's who were regular customers !! read more
