Osmanthus jelly with mochi and longan milk ice
Doris C.

Docking a star for the sandwiches. I really don't recommend them. But I generally enjoy their other items. The only plus of the sandwiches are the crunchy bits where they leave the press marks. I found the sandwiches to be overly sweet. Why would a buldak sausage sandwich be sweet? The durian mochi was yummy but wasn't a super strong durian taste, all their fried items are typically crispy and well fried. The highlight of this meal was the milk ice; I.e snow cream (I didn't know that was what it was when I ordered). It's gigantic! It's enough to feed 3 people. We thought it was a small bowl so we ordered two. Unable to admit defeat, we sat there finishing two giant bowls, but they were so tasty, I didn't really mind. I enjoyed the osmanthus Longan one as it wasn't overly sweet. The Oreo one was pretty sweet as there was ice cream and marshmallow fluff, but it was still good with great textures.

The decor of this place is cute. Spacious inside. Staff is nice. Food can be a hit and miss. We ordered a few things to share: Sea salt cheese idea milk ice-it's large and can be shared by 3-4 ppl. The flavor is good. A bit sweet but the presentation and flavor is nice-8/10 Crispy milk roll-1/10. Tastes too greasy and not crispy. Milky taste is very mild. I think they should remove this dish from the menu. Watermelon pandan jelly with ice cream-4/10. the pandan jelly is too soft and lack of texture. If they make it firmer, I think it might be better. The flavor is just lacking. Taro ball mochi-7/10. The over flavor is there but their mochi is not chewy or smooth. A bit soft. I had this dessert in China and I loved it. But this one is a bit disappointing.

One of the better Chinese dessert shops in the neighborhood! I like how there is savory food in addition to the sweets. Their small bites are surprisingly yummy. I especially enjoyed the fried shrimp balls with cheese filling. The sandwiches are a miss for me, but most of their entrees are not bad. My favorite though is the black truffles beef bacon cream stewed rice but the presentation can use some improvement. The desserts are a little different and more unique, such as the taro paste silky mochi. I thought it was interesting but not something that I would have the desire to get again. I quite like the interior design

Heard great things about this dessert spot I had to check it out. Came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy and we were able to get seated right away. I was hungry so tried some of their pastas. They have a very small selection of real food but the black pepper beef pasta was pretty good. The shrimp alfredo pasta was just ok. For dessert I got the mango dessert which was good and big portions. My favorite is probably the ginger milk pudding because they ask how strong of ginger you want. As someone who loves ginger it was perfect for me. Overall it's a cute spot to hang out but it is definitely a bit more expensive than expected. FYI they do not accept AMEX.

Mango Pomelo Sago

I was super excited to see another dessert spot delivering Chinese desserts, like Tong Shui! I think they took over the KungFu Tea old spot. They serve food as well... but I came to try their Mango Pomelo Sago and was hoping they had Dao Fu Fa... but they didn't. For takeaway, you order through the kiosk. Dining in, the wait staff will take your orders. So we got 2 things - Mango Pomelo Sago - (4/10), mango was sour, not sweet act all... and the Taro Sago was just ok (5/10). We still prefer Mango Mango for their desserts. Note: it took over 20-25 mins to get our dessert, so be warn on wait time.

Clockwise: black sesame paste, soymilk pudding dessert, double layer milk custard with red bean
Dorothy Y.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was quite empty with only 2-3 tables. I ordered to-go via their kiosk and got my order in less than ten minutes. I like using a kiosk so I didn't have to interact with the staff and could take my time browsing at options. The printed menu isn't as detailed about what each item entails. I ordered: soymilk pudding dessert, double layer milk custard with red bean, and black sesame paste. I was originally interested in the soymilk pudding dessert and the rice mochi w/ osmanthus jelly bowl but struggled figuring out their differences since the photos are blurry. When I looked through the kiosk the biggest difference is that the former has soymilk pudding, coconut milk, lotus seeds, and peach gum vs the latter has grass jelly. The rest of the components are basically the same. I think it's better to forego the grass jelly in order to get all the other more special ingredients. I'm glad I got the soymilk pudding dessert because it's my favorite of the three and what seals the deal for making me want to have it again. It contains: coconut milk, soymilk pudding, peach gum, lotus seeds, taro balls, mochi balls, osmanthus syrup, and osmanthus jelly. Overall, I like the combination of more unique ingredients and how everything was gently sweet and refreshing. They gave a big pouch of coconut milk. I only ended up adding half and was able to cover all the ingredients in the bowl. Although the star of the show is supposed to be the soymilk pudding, it was one of my least favorite components. I didn't like how raw the soymilk tasted, a bit gamey and green. Lotus seeds had slight bitterness to it too which could be avoided during the prep process. My favorite part is probably the osmanthus jelly and peach gum because of their texture and lightness on my palate. Improvements to this dish would be to have higher quality ingredients for each component which would help with a cleaner and more delicate taste. Double layer milk custard was alright. The custard part had faint almond extract flavor which makes me suspect whether they added flavoring or used almond tofu powder. At least it wasn't too sweet. The red bean topping was overly sweet, suspecting they used premade canned ones. I don't like how they used rectangular containers. Black sesame paste was too goopy for me. Even though it tasted strongly of black sesame, the flavor was quite one dimensional and not fragrant. They supposedly added peanut to it, but I don't taste it either. There were mochi balls added as toppings which I didn't expect. It was not additive.

A lot of places close early, so this cafe feels like a score. Really casual, lively ambiance inside. Pretty wide variety of items too. I loved the durian grilled cheese. Seems like a risky pairing but it works so well together. Wasn't polarizing at all. The bingsoo is really yummy too. Stayed cold despite sitting on our table so long. The black truffle rice is yummy too. It felt like an Asian-risotto and was a satisfying savory meal.

Came by on a Monday evening and there was no wait. Staffs were pretty friendly. Orders are placed via tablet. Both the drink(Mashed Taro & Red bean mochi Milk tea) and dessert(Durian & Mango coconut jelly) was not overly sweet. I would come back to try other items on the menu. We also ordered take out and it was prepared pretty quickly (like 7-10 minutes, guess it depends if it's busy or not). Unfortunately, their Unfortunately their Ginger Milk Pudding was not available for takeout.

Yuan Yang definitely has a lot of potential of being one of the best and most authentic Chinese dessert spot in all of Brooklyn. Their jasmine pudding and ginger milk pudding were both extremely delicious, although I'd caution going light on the ginger for the normal amount was already quite intense. Their other dessert selections are on the pricier side compared to other places. The spaghetti with shrimp, mushroom and bacon cream had really good flavor, but the mushroom were cut so thin and so scarce that you can barely taste it; it felt like they cut half of one mushroom (as evident in the photo). The shrimp were the baby shrimp which I personally don't really like and felt it made the dish worse. Overall it's an easy fix if they choose to, but the dish definitely has potential of being amazing! The staff were all very friendly and spoke English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. The aesthetics is very pretty and welcoming, with enough space between tables to sit comfortably. Overall, a pretty good experience and I will definitely come back to try some of their other selections. Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Dessert 4/5 Service 3.5/5 Ambience 4.5/5 I much prefer this location over the Flushing one. It's more spacious and has a much cuter aesthetic. Ginger Milk Pudding (3.75/5): We made the mistake of asking for extra ginger, which I wouldn't recommend. It became so strong that it turned bitter, the regular version is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately, the service was a bit rushed, our server poured the milk quite aggressively, causing some of it to spill. Watermelon Pandan Jelly with Coconut Milk (4.25/5): This was the highlight! The fresh watermelon paired surprisingly well with the pandan jelly. Jasmine Milk Tea (4/5): A solid tea, though I think I prefer the Osmanthus version here. The jasmine flavor was a bit subtle and could have been more pronounced, but overall it was still a pleasant drink.

Ginger Milk Pudding ($10, Feb 2026)

Tried the ginger milk pudding. It's literally ginger juice and milk, mixed together it causes a reaction and the milk solidifies after a few minutes. For $10 I think it's quite a ripoff, but I guess good to try if you can't make this at home yourself. My friend who came here before told me to flip the timer once more so that it's less watery/soft. But even after flipping it again, it was still quite soft but the consistency was nice and smooth like tofu fa. They give you option of less ginger, regular ginger, or more. I decided to try regular and it was too spicy for me, less ginger would have been better for me. Also tried the black sesame & peanut & red bean mochi dessert. I'm not a huge fan of straight up sesame soup, but my bf liked it. It wasn't too sweet which was good for us. The place is very spacious and they have plenty of booths as well. It's quite expensive, so I wouldn't really go out of my way to come here for dessert.

A dessert spot with a bunch of pretty unique options! My group stuck with the basic and got a mango pomelo which was pretty good. Entrees were pretty limited but surprisingly tasted really good! I was very presently surprised. I got the black pepper beef pasta and would definitely recommend it! Plenty of seating but could packed at times. Perfect for a hangout spot to chill with amazing sweets.

But this review is about something bigger than dessert. The strawberry cheesecake here reminds me of my mom. It was her favorite, and it was one of the last desserts I got to share with her. Anytime she wanted a sweet treat, that's what she asked for. Ordering it now keeps me connected to her. This past July, on her 3rd birthday in heaven, I placed an order to celebrate her. The menu only had cherry cheesecake that day, so I wrote a note explaining what the strawberry meant to me. The staff didn't just make it happen, they sent an extra slice of strawberry cheesecake on top of it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. The people here have always been this kind. We love everyone who works there, and we're grateful for the small moments of care they've shown our family. Thank you for everything.
