So my first impression of this restaurant when browsing the menu before getting here was: they serve all sorts of Korean food?? Tbh in my experience I've never seen a restaurant selling both naengmyeon and Chinese food... We've been here at least a few times, the most recent time with a party of 6. The seating is pretty spacious (suitable for big parties), but can get crowded during the busy meal hours (particularly weekends). I remember the first time I came here, I got their soon tofu, and I was so disappointed in the lack of soup flavor. The soup was very red, but was mostly oil and left me underwhelmed. We've also gotten their hot stone pot, which overall is pretty good and a safe choice. The 2nd and 3rd times I've gotten both their mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, which both unfortunately don't come with too much meat (like 1 or 2 thin slices) but I'm pretty sure Yoo's Place specializes in naengmyeon the most because (1) the name, and (2) they do it right. The hamburger steak was okay, but would get elsewhere. The Korean-style donkatsu was huge, the sauce was sweet (but expected), and the breading is light with the meat more tenderized. I've gotten a taste of the sauce from the jjajangmyeon, didn't get to try the noodles, but was pleasantly surprised by the presence of enough flavor. Again, I'm still a bit confused as to the variety of food they serve, but honestly speaking their naengmyeon is my go-to. read more

This is our favorite Korean restaurant. I am vegetarian and my wife is not. There are plenty of options for me. I usually get the Kimchi soft tofu and nokdu pancakes. I've also tried the cold noodles and black bean noodles, so good. The banchan is plentiful and healthy and the food is top notch. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly. The best part of this place are the owners. They are warm and caring which is hard to find these days. We wish them much success. read more

Place was full, but wait was less than 5 minutes because service is very efficient but still allowed diners to enjoy their meals without feeling rushed. Parking is adequate. We came here on a weekday for lunch. Around 1145, the place had lots of tables available. Parking was easy albeit limited spaces next to the restaurant. You can park a bit farther off if you are unable to find it right next to the restaurant. There were about 6 side dishes. We ordered their chicken wings and combo bulgogi with spicy soon tofu. Chicken wings had too much batter and were sticky. But we enjoyed the tofu soup and bulgogi beef. Great flavors. Service was decent. They checked once on how we are doing. Went for the first time this afternoon. It was busy and there was a wait. Lady in front takes your order as you wait outside, enhances efficiency. As we got seated, the banchan was immediately placed on our table together with 5 pieces of dumplings. Interesting, we said, and impressive that they have dumplings as part of banchan - delicious. Then noodles came and my wife mixed it and put a little serving on her plate to taste. The waitress came over and said the dumplings were mistakenly served to us but seeing that we started eating it she said it was OK. We also made her known that we thought it was part of the banchan. All OK, she said. She took the noodles away because that was also misserved. A soup that was sitting on our table for 3 minutes didn't seem the right order so we hailed back the waitress and indeed, she took it back. Finally, our three orders came and they were good. When it's time to settle our bill, they included the $15 dumpling that was served to us by mistake. A man and two ladies came to our table as if we were arguing when all we asked was why we got charged and all they can say and repeatedly multiple times is that because we ate it. We felt embarrassed because one was raising her voice and people are looking as if we are denying to pay. The otherwise good food was masked by the fiasco orders. I would hate to have received those food if it had been in someone else's table. Beware, especially if you're not familiar with the food as you may be eating an incorrect order and they will not hesitate to charge you. They will not own their mistake. read more

SERVICE 4/5 The wait time was pretty average, the servers (all nice Korean ajummas) were quick to refill a few side dishes. We ordered 6 dishes (jjajangmyun, tangsuyuk, kalgooksu, nengmyun & soondae gook) and not a single dish was disappointing. Our group was actually talking about how the food reminds us of restaurants in Korea. Yes, it is that good. The service was superb. I've always been told that any good Korean place starts with the banchan, and lately a lot of places are starting to cut corners with less selection and or lower quality. This place right off the bat before even ordering provided us a selection of at least 6 different kinds and the staff refilled the dishes when they were empty or when we asked for more. My wife and I ended up getting an order of the jajangmien, the fried dumplings and an order of the bibimnangmyeon. I didnt think the Jajangmien was anything special especially since i already know how to make it myself but I did like the overall portion size and the fact that the sauce had meat in it which a lot of other places skimp on. I think when you consider the price and the quantity, your getting a decent value. I think overall the best thing we ate were the dumplings which from what our friends say are all hand made. The filling is quite substantial as well with a good fat content so its super juicy and moist. Overall my wife and I like this place but its a little far considering that we live on the other side of Irvine where we also have a lot of korean options which are easier to get in and out of if were really in a pinch for dinner. read more

I was surprised to see that a Korean restaurant opened in this plaza. Came in for dinner last night and it was everything I needed and more. I ordered the beef soondubu and it was on point. They give you a tray of 5-6 banchans and all of them were delicious. My favorite is always the spicy cucumber and there's was really good. Saw a review that they give hot beef bone broth as a free side and that was a pleasant bonus for me. There were two ajuma servers and they were fast and refilled my banchans without me even asking. I was very satisfied and I will def be coming back here when I come back to Irvine. I also saw they have jajangmyun and jambong here so I can def see myself ordering that next time. I actually like spicy food, thank you very much. If you read my review carefully I wrote that the whole dish was bland, not just the squash. The healthy ingredients were there, it's just that there wasn't enough seasoning applied to my particular dish. I gave some to my sis and she said it was bland as well so it wasn't just me. "Best selling dish" my ass. Your business would be in the ground by now if this was truly the best you could offer. New favorite spot for Korean food in Irvine! The quality of all the banchan and main dishes were authentic and delicious...everything tasted home cooked (in a great way). We had the nengmyun which was super refreshing (not too salty and not too sweet) and the don katsu was enormous, juicy, soft and perfectly fried. Really enjoyed the location at Buena Park so was excited to see they opened one in Irvine! However, was pretty disappointed with the food and service. We got beef tofu soup and kalguksu. The kalguksu was a huge bowl, so I think pretty worth the price. The banchan was super lame; the radish was so tough to eat, the spicy green onion was lacking in flavor as well. What really threw me off was in the middle of my meal, I asked one of the waitress if I can order an order of fried chicken to go. She said no to go orders because they are too busy today. It made no sense to me, as I was still eating my food (75% of my kalguksu was still left in the bowl). My friend told me to just order it for the table, and just pack it up. I think this is one the best homey Korean restaurants I've been to! I came here after work with coworkers for dinner (just across the street) because we decided on some Korean food. Parking wasn't that bad at 7PM on a Thursday night, but the place was pretty packed. It looked like a family owned restaurant, the waitress was running everywhere by herself! She was super attentive and nice despite being short staffed. My favorite thing here has got to be the complementary soup they have on tap! I've never had a restaurant have that option before. We ordered the seafood pancakes, tofu soup, soondaeguk, cold noodles, fried squid, galbi, bulgogi, and jokbal and have no complaints! Everything was great-tasted like it was made at home.
