Mul Naengmyun or Bibim Naengmyun combo with Galbi are my go to for the summer. The noodles are perfect, not too soft and just the right amount of chewy. Paired with just enough crunchy, fresh sliced radish and cucumbers to balance the chewiness. A few sliced beef and half an egg for added protein. It is the best thing to eat after our fencing practice that quenches your energy and cools you down. I love the galbi because it is marinated so well to give you savory and sweet blend that pairs well with their mul naeng myun. I definitely appreciate the jug of warm bone broth set at each table so that you can enjoy as many as I'd like and it definitely warms me up when I'm freezing from having too much cold soup. I love their seafood pancake and squid tempura! Their seafood pancake is loaded! It is huge and it isn't overly pungent. Their squid tempura is so crispy! They do have a strong hand with the batter but I kinda like it that way. read more

TL;DR - def in my top five korean restaurants in the oc now! FOOD: overall 4.5/5 *kalguksu - sooo comforting! the seafood-y broth with the handcut noodles is a perfect combo. the noodles were cooked perfectly, the broth was super flavorful, and the seafood inside were yummy. all the veggies added a good texture to the dish as well. 5/5 *ojingeo twigim - super crunchy!!! the squid was cooked perfectly too. seasoned well and delicious! the only downside i would say is that since the batter is thick, it did get overly oily after awhile. 4/5 *kalbi - a korean classic! perfectly tender and had that smokiness flavor that you want with kalbi. really well seasoned too. no complaints!! 5/5 *banchan - all the side dishes were solid!!! i loved the kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), oi (cucumber) kimchi, and the acorn jelly. 5/5 SERVICE: the lady that served us who i believe is one of the owners? or is the owner? was so so sweet and even chatted with us after we finished eating. one of the best service i've experienced in awhile. the service alone made us want to come back. 1000/5 PRICE: the total ended up being around $80, including tax and tip. we were a group of three and still had leftovers so the quality of food, portion-size, and service make this place well worth the price. 5/5 read more

Wasn't my style of food. From the menu, I was very confused why they had regular Korean food and Chinese Korean food.

Update: I have gone back a few times since the initial review and the service has definitely improved! The food is still awesome per usual and the waitresses have been attentive and even bring free entrees on occasion. This has been a regular spot for me since I discovered it and I don't see that changing anytime soon. read more

New Korean restaurant near the Irvine Business District and newly built apartments at the heart of Jamboree Street and DuPont, there sits in the middle of restaurant row a brand spanking new Yoo's place ambitiously serving Korean traditional food as well as Chinese Food and so many other food items, it's mind boggling how many options are available on the menu! However, it's a shame that the ambitious approach doesn't match what the restaurant should be offering! The NangMyeon is awful, the $49 Bossam was two days old and all fatty. The side dishes were so bad that we couldn't even finish them. We ordered Seollungtang-Clear Ox Tail Bone Soup which is $20 but had very little beef. Sorry we are not going back anytime soon. read more

Galbigjim is top tier. Sauce is tasty. Noy too spicy makes eating the glass noodle much more enjoyable. Comes with thick rice cake, fav one so far in irv Jajjangmyun is top too, i think is the best one i tried so far. Noodle texture and taste just hits the spot. Spicy pork too is very nice, idk what about it but it just taste better than your reg bcd spicy pork Japchae is solid, cant go wrong with it The tofu soup tho is just ok. I like the jelly banchan. Not sure what its made of but it tastes a bit like fish(?) Coming back here! read more

Great service and good food. We wanted to eat jajangmyun and decide to try this place. It feels like a mom and pop place with lots of seating. They serve a mix of chinese and korean food. I did not realize that what I know to be korean food, it was influenced by chinese. Overall food was good. Texture of the noodles were on point, soft and chewy. The flavor of the sauce was a bit mild. The pork with crispy was delicious. There are so many food options, I will come back again to try all the food. read more

We came here on a Saturday night at 6 pm. It was too crowded and we got seated right away. We didn't know what to order so we relied on our Korean friends who suggested Yoo's Place. Everything was surprisingly good! We had the kalguki (hand pulled noodles with seafood) and that had good flavor. It had a strong dashi flavor so it reminded me of a Japanese dish. The large Maeun Kalbijjim dish was sizzling hot and I enjoyed that very much. Service was good and the owner was very kind to us. I was pretty full already but the Mak-Guksu (cold buckwheat noodles) was a refreshing surprise to finish off the meal. I would like to come back again. There was quite a wait by the time we finished so expect to wait if your show up after 7:30 pm on a Saturday. The decor is clean and modern. read more

It makes you feel like a family restaurant. The decorations were simple, but the waitress made you feel you were the guests n the house. We ordered Soon Tofu + short ribs combo and cold noodles + Jokball (pork hock) combo, which prefect for two. We love Jokball, but the regular size is always too much for two. All the dishes were delicious. I did not take any pictures. We were too busy eating. The waitress refilled the side dishes and noticed our needs without request. It's how you treat your guests at home right? We definitely will go back. read more

The food here is great and so is the customer service! The owners are very attentive. UPDATE: I decided to back down a star due to their dishonest tipping system which adds the tip percentage based on the after tax amount and they start at 18%. Many reviewers feel service leaves a lot to be desired. Thus their lack of service is certainly not deserving of 18% gratuity, let alone adding tip after tax which is the equivalent of 19.4%. I mistakenly overpaid based on the "subtotal" amount, which kicked in nearly another 8% until my friend pointed it out. Subtotal is pretax anywhere you go, but here it is AFTER tax. Look at your receipts more carefully! Vegetarians AVOID Came here with friends who wanted Korean. I was the only vegetarian, but the other 3 all agree they wouldn't come back. To start, the restaurant is listed as limited vegetarian options -- this is misleading bc there aren't any vegetarian options unless you count beverages and rice. The lady server (probably part owner) was very reluctant to tell me what was vegetarian and wouldn't answer questions about a dish being vegetarian. Everything I asked her got me a snicker and a basic blank look signaling I'm in the wrong place if I don't eat meat. She also has a flawed understanding of vegetarian... which translated to as long as there's no meat even if it has seafood seasoning it's vegetarian. This couldn't be further from the truth. I ended up getting Dolpan Gondeure Bibimbap which I was highly dubious if it was vegetarian bc she gave me the runaround and never confirmed. It came with a premade sauce that I didn't dare use since no one would tell me what was in it. I ended up using vinegar and mustard from bottles they had at every table. The dish itself was very salty, vinegar & mustard helped balance the flavors better. Out of all the banchan I only tried the radish dish bc I think the sauce was made with sugar and vinegar. Everything else was questionable and some clearly not vegetarian like fishcake. For those that don't know, Korean kimchi unless marked vegan is typically seasoned with fish or seafood sauce, so I avoided anything red colored. My friends ordered #31 and a seafood combo tofu soup. All 3 of them thought this place was overpriced, not that good, and portions came with little meat, not to mention extremely salty. I was very disappointed with their attitude towards vegetarians and would have given them 1 star, but I thought it was interesting they serve beef bone broth in a jug which I hadn't seen at other Korean restaurants. My friends enjoyed the bone broth which was the highlight of their meal. They also thought the purple rice was mostly white with very little black rice. If I ever had to comeback with a group, I would probably order the bimbimbap less beef. But this place doesn't welcome vegetarians and you have been warned. Parking was also a pain, although we came during downtime and found a couple spots without problem. read more

Wow, these folks just moved in recently but I love this place already. It's been ages since I've had Korean food, but Yoo's Place hits the spot. Banchan here was excellent, and you can ask nicely for as many refills of it as you like. We ordered the chic hwe naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles with raw fish), pork bulgogi and thukbokki (spicy rice cake dish), all of them were very delicious, with just the right amount of spiciness, and the portions were very generous too. The dishes and banchan made 3 of us all very full and the total damage came out to $68 before tips, not a bad price at all considering how much food you get. They even have some Korean-Chinese dishes on the menu as well. Staff was very friendly, and checked on us periodically if we needed anything, and treated us like their own family. Will definitely be back! Ground-level parking here is a bit limited, but there is underground parking available too. read more

We are Korean and we're looking for a Korean restaurant nearby and saw this place had great reviews so we decided to try. We ordered soft tofu soup, spicy nengmyun, kalbi, and jajangmyun. Service was great and the food was decent, but I do think there are better options in the area. We got the galbitang, galbi, and soondubu and they were all legit but definitely not as good as Tang 190, BCD, and Yigah which are close by. The galbitang's short ribs were pretty tough to eat and not as tender as other galbitangs I've had and the soondubu was okay. I think this place is worth going to if you're in the area and craving legit Korean food, but I would make the extra 10-15 minute drive to the other places mentioned or Buena Park if you want something amazing! Granted we did mostly just get soup though and their menu is huge, so maybe the other non-soup items are good. read more

This is a restaurant our family visits from time to time. The menu here makes us feel as though we're sitting in Korea, enjoying a meal. With such a wide variety of options, we never have to deliberate beforehand. Deciding what to eat after we arrive and sit at the table is more than enough. Every dish is flawless, no matter what we choose. The menu even includes items we used to enjoy in our younger days, and they even serve jjajangmyeon and jjamppong! We feel truly grateful to be able to savor such authentic flavors here in Orange County, USA. Moreover, the owner's style is just my style! The restaurant as a whole is neat and charming, with an attention to detail that enhances its cozy atmosphere. Despite the extensive menu, the table display is simple yet complete, reflecting the thoughtfulness of the owner. This atmosphere allows our family to enjoy our meals comfortably. And when we place an order, the food arrives so quickly that we can't help but imagine how well-prepared the kitchen must be. read more

I love this place so much & will recommend it to anyone who loves authentic Korean food! My first time here I had the spicy cold noodles - naengmyeon in the summer. I was impressed to find this dish in OC that wasn't Buena Park. It was so light and savory with the super chewy noodles and sweet spicy sauce. It truly was perfect in the summer heat. The restaurant was clean and the staff was super helpful. The veggie side dishes - banchan were so delicious and authentic. I knew we were in the right spot before even receiving our entrees. The steamed pumpkin banchan with a creamy sweet white sauce is something I cannot find anywhere else! The restaurant was also filled with korean people so that was a comfort before even trying the banchan. My second time here I took people who had lived in Korea for a period of time and was so glad when they all had seals of approval with the jjajjangmyeon, jjamppong, naengmyeon, and soondubu. They were so quick with refilling the banchan. The portions are also very hefty! My third most recent time was the best visit. I ordered jjajjangmyeon again, and it was perfectly savory and chewy. The sweet and spicy fried chicken was so crisp and juicy. My clients ordered jjamppong and kalbi which were both amazing. Before ordering we were debating the naengmyeon but it was a bit chilly out so we did not get it. Midway through our meal one of the waitresses came over and told us she had overheard our debate and offered us a sample for my guests who had never had the dish before to try it. She told us we need to come in when it is 85°+ and have it! Then, she came out with what was half a portion of the naengmyeon (or a full meal for the average person) free of charge! The care she had and passion for her food was so appreciated and admirable. Definitely recommending this place even more than I was before! read more

The cold noodles here are is top tier, I've only had cold noodles in Atlanta that was as good as this. When I discovered this restaurant, I pretty much ate here 2 times a WEEK!! I had a feeling looking at the wide variety on the menu that the quality was going to be mid. My suspicions were sadly confirmed. I got the jjajangmyun and it was not great. The sauce was soupy and the meat was so tough it was like eating jerky. My sister said the sundaeguk was the worst she ever had. The only thing that was good was their free broth and their kimchi. Also, they were rude about refilling banchan. They took forever to refill it so eventually I asked them to, and she rudely said she was just about to do it, then never brought them out. Not sure why they have such great reviews, never coming back here. read more

I really like this new Korean restaurant. There's parking right up to the front and they have a wide variety of menu items.

What I ordered: ** 9/10: Chic Mul Naengmyun - $16.95 - favorite cold noodles in Irvine - the meat can be dry sometimes - icy broth is so refreshing, must add vinegar/mustard 7/10: Seolleong Tang - $16.95 - broth was not clarified and tasted too beefy - clear glass noodles were yummy - pre-salted and served w/ side of purple rice Yoo's place is my go to spot for cold noodles in Irvine. The plaza it is located in gets pretty busy during peak hours, so parking can be difficult to find. There's plenty of seating in the restaurant, but service can be slow when it's busy. The banchan (9.5/10) here is so good! My favorites are the acorn jelly and sliced pickled radish. The best part about Yoo's is their complimentary bone broth. It's the perfect way to balance out the icy cold broth in the cold noodles. Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Total: 9/10 read more

Love this place. Authentic Korean food. Their beef tofu soup was so good with just the right amount of spiciness and not overwhelming. The broth was delicious. The beef Bulgogi came with the soup combo and this was pretty tasty too. The beef was tender and flavorful. The katsu was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Good size portion too. My nephew ordered the burger plate, which reminded him of loco moco. He said it was tasty and satisfying. Their customer service was great as well. They checked us periodically and they had a bottle of water already at the table. They were clean also which I like including the bathroom. Decor was modern and open space. Hands down BEST Korean food in Orange County and I've had a lot growing up in Cerritos. I've only eaten at the Irvine location and can confidently say this place is really good! Everyone we've brought with us raves about what Yoo's Place is serving up! The restaurant is clean, the staff literally treats everyone like family and the food is consistently delicious! Literally everything we tried came out fast, hot and so flavorful! Each of the banchans were tasty; this is a huge indicator of what's to come. The mandu were generously filled and almost the size of my hand, the kalbi, bulgogi, tofu soup and the kalbijim (my favorite) were out of this world. The portions are generous, the meat and ingredients used are high quality and the flavor profile for each dish was rich in the best way. Needless to say, Yoo's Place is a family staple! 10/10 highly recommend! read more

I was craving jajangmyeon and decided to come here since it was close by. The initial round of side dishes tasted off, as if it was sitting out for a while before being served to us. We asked for another round of side dishes and they tasted much better. When our jajangmyeon came out, the sauce was cold and the noodles were hot. Upon eating the food, the sauce tasted very sour and made the entire dish sour. The zucchini, cabbage, onions, meat - all of it really, just tasted really sour. This is not the usual experience when I order jajangmyeon anywhere else and I was extremely disappointed. I was hoping to find a new place to go to when I'm craving jajangmyeon because of the great reviews that the restaurant has, but the reviews did not reflect the quality of what we had tonight.
