My family and I went to the West End Farmer's Market yesterday and ordered a sandwich on an English muffin. There was no one in line so I placed my order and waited. After 10 minutes, I thought I missed hearing my name so I waited by the Pick-Up Window. The woman at the window was named Mim and when I arrived, she was incredibly curt and dismissive to one of the cooks behind her. When I asked her about my order, she abruptly turned around and then said, "You're up next." I began talking to my husband and she budded into our conversation and said, "Excuse me. What did you said." I said, "My mom is diabetic and we weren't told it would take 15+ minutes to get our food." She said, "Oh, your mom is diabetic well everything is made to order and you're up next." Then she turns around and passive-aggressively tells the staff in the truck about my mom and then adds, "How does that affect us? It doesn't because she didn't tell us." BUT I WAS NOT TOLD A BREAKFAST SANDWICH WOULD TAKE 15 - 20 MINUTES TO GET. Otherwise, we would have gone somewhere else. The person taking the order was wrong to keep everyone in the dark about the long wait. Mim was wrong to not trying to calm the situation, instead she interrupts our conversation and acts completely UNPROFESSIONAL. Food trucks are supposed to be quick. If you're going to make people wait the same amount of time as a restaurant, then they should be told so they can decide if they want to wait. The one star is because the sandwich was delicious but it wasn't worth the time or the attitude. MIM SHOULD NOT BE IN ANY JOB THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE BASED. We will NEVER be back. read more

OMG. It is so hard to find healthy and delicious breakfast food for picky people ;) I am veggie and my wife is gluten free so sometimes we run into issues. Not to mention, this is a food cart, so fast/cheap/easy is the way! The guys there are also really sweet. Wish Portland had a Yolk's! A friend invited me over for breakfast just a few mornings ago claiming there was an "amazing" breakfast truck just outside his front door. Boy was he right! The offerings are quite amazing. Yolks that pop & let you dip the rest of your sandwich in, amazing hashbrowns, and some of the best coffee I've found since coming to Vancouver...second only to my beloved Blenz. Simple and classic breakfast sandwiches and other yummy options.. from a foodtruck? I usually don't like english muffin anything but I decided to give it another go. Yolk's is awesome, the bun is nice and light and crispy. The fillings are plentiful and flavors meld together perfecto. Pancakes are nice, not the best I've had but it was pretty good, their batter is nice and airy but at the same time flavorful and delicious. A must try. read more

Ordered their egg smoked bacon sandwich with hollandaise on English muffin from their food truck at Nat Bailey winter farmers market. After waiting 20 minutes(!) for my sandwich it was smaller than I thought it would be and felt the $7.50 price was very steep for what I got, basically 1 egg, 1 slice of bacon, some garnish, on a muffin. Taste-wise I would rate the sandwich a 3/5 but because of the long wait and price I only giving it a 1. Next time I will try another food truck. read more

I've always wanted to go to Yolk's to try their chicken and waffles but have never had the chance since I'm never in the area around brunch time. I'm glad I finally got to go today at the Food Truck Fest! Waffles were thick and have deep holes which are perfect for keeping the gravy and/or maple syrup in. Slightly crunchy on the outside, which is just the way I like my waffles. There was more fried chicken than could fit in the sandwich which I thought was great. Extra chicken is always good! It came out a bit overcooked on the outside with the breading almost black in places, but thankfully the inside was still nice and soft and juicy. The only downside in my opinion is the price. At $11.75 for two quarters of a waffle and maybe a full chicken breast it was a bit pricey. Perhaps because everything is organic etc? I can get twice as much food for less money from another sit-down place. It ended up being a very filling meal but I don't think it was exceptional enough for me to go out of my way again and pay that much for it. I might still come back though to try their eggs as I imagine that that's what they specialize in. read more

Wow, wow, wow!!! I didn't expect to have such an enjoyable and delicious breakfast coming out of this baby-blue colored truck!!! These guys are not only creative, but passionate when it comes to their food! I promise you won't leave only with a full stomach from the amazing flavor and texture, but also with the lasting memories of it all!!! During our last visit in Vancouver, we decided to search for some new and undiscovered eateries, that are kid friendly, inexpensive and fast. Well, that's Yolk's and thanks to Yelp and the Yelpers out there, the search was easy:-) We had the Truffle-Lemon Hashbrown Skewer, the Poached egg with Bacon and Hollandaise Sauce Sandwich and last and best of all- 6 Beignets with Salted Caramel Sauce. OMG...I don't think my mouth is going to ever forget the experience from having those Beignets?! These were AMAZING!!! I only wish we didn't have to sit and eat in our car, but since it was wet and cold that day, that was our only choice. Can't wait to go back there soon! read more

THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE!!!!! You know when you read great reviews and see a photo that makes your mouth water...and then....you are let down. Not the case here. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. Their egg sandwiches are perfection. The egg is poached perfectly with tender ham or crunchy bacon, both amazingly flavorful. Fresh grated white cheddar cheese completes the picture with everything placed on a crispy-on-the-outside yet soft-on-the-inside english muffin. They instruct you to gently push the sandwich together so the egg breaks and doesn't explode, potentially causing a messy disaster. Each bite allows all the complementary flavors to shine and just melts in your mouth. SO GOOD. BUT WAIT....there's more. There is an item called the truffle hashbrown that comes on a stick. Sure we'll try it. WHOA!! This is not for the meek. The hashbrown is actually many chunks of potatoes that have been somehow infused with truffle oil and either roasted or fried or whatever....cooked just right. OMG!! It's like a symphony in your mouth. We went over a week ago and are still talking about how wonderful this breakfast was and how we wish we could go back again and again. Great food truck. Not cheap (like most food trucks!) but the food is delicious. I had the benny with avocado. I loved the meal but it was insanely hard to eat which is why I haven't given them a full five stars. I would go back. Ask for a frequent flyer card and collect stamps. Not many places to sit around here. I walk down to Victory Square to eat on a park bench (weather permitting), otherwise it's off to the office. Obviously hollandaise sauce needs to be eaten before it cools and congeals! read more

I have tried Yolks a few times and I must say: it's quite yummy. However this review, Yolks recently provided breakfast service for the False Creek Rowing Club's Head Up The Creek rowing regatta. This is our third year hosting the event and finally with Yolk's we found a food service option that was perfect for the volunteers and participants. With friendly service and excellent food it was a great combination with our event.
