The loaded tots were delicious and so worth the upcharge. Would recommend trying the biscuits and gravy for sure. Overall, the portion sizes here are big and the food is great. The restaurant is located on a quaint corner with a couple outdoor benches for waiting. We went for a busy Sunday morning brunch service. Staff was very proficient at getting diners in and we were very okay with the wait. The inside is very pleasant, a mix between a bar vibe and mom & pop diner vibe. Once we were seated is when our experience began to drift away. Our particular server greeted us fairly quickly, but after taking our drink order we waited for 15+ minutes for them to be brought out. Initially I gave the server some grace, assuming it was perhaps because they were busy. As our brunch continued it became apparent our particular server was either bad at her job or just didn't care and the initial wait for our drinks was pretty on par with the rest of this server's attentiveness to our visit. I will say the rest of the staff seemed amazing. The manager/owner(?) came and checked on us a couple times and seemed invested in our experience. The product itself was amazing. Great menu selections (food, drinks, boozy options, and the food and drinks themselves were outstanding. Fun environment. One of the TVs in our section was playing old GI Joe cartoons (right in my wheelhouse) while the other had sports programming on. My hope is the particular server we had was an outlier for this establishment, which is why despite her horrible service, I provided a rating. Our server brought our check out while we were still eating. My drink was empty and I intended on ordering another one but I wasn't asked. Despite this visit, I would certainly return and give the service a second chance.

So this past Sunday, I took advantage of their Brunch. I started my Sunday breakfast with an adult beverage. Their Bloody Mary, has just enough spice to give it a good kick to start your morning. I don't know about you, but I always have to have a cup of coffee as a chaser for my Bloody. I take mine black and strong, to get through the entire day. For my entree, I built my own Omelette with, Spinach, Bacon, Onion and Cheddar Cheese. It was a light golden yellow and was filled with a generous amount of my chosen ingredients. As a side, it came with crispy potato wedges and a small cup of ketchup for dipping. The two paired together, made for an excellent Sunday Brunch. I always sit at the bar, since I usually dine alone and the service was attentive. The bartender was personable and lead the entire bar into a good conversation. I'm glad to be back in STL and I am super glad that my new condo is closer to Polite Society than my last home was. I'm confident I will be once again, be a regular.

We tried to come on a Saturday after visiting the Gateway Arch, heartbroken that they were CLOSED! No sign on the door, so we had to figure out a backup option. On Sunday, we tried again and because there was no number listed online, we took a chance and thank goodness they were open! It's a small diner with patio situation and we were informed there would be a wait which was fine with us. We were quickly sat at the (covered) patio on a gorgeous sunny day and enjoyed the views of people walking to see a game at Busch Stadium. Kelly was a wonderful server! Both the Bloody Mary and the Espresso Martini were excellent! The deviled eggs were a delicious appetizer. Hands down though, that biscuit breakfast sandwich was what breakfast dreams are made of! Kelly recommended the sausage which was rich and flavorful. The over-medium egg was perfection! Potatoes were well seasoned and mouthwatering. I'm going to be thinking of Fleur STL for many years to come and hope to visit again someday!

We were pleasantly surprised they weren't super busy, selfishly it was nice, but I hope it's not always like that because they deserve the hype. We sat at the bar and had great service the whole time. We started with a house made Bloody Mary (it had fantastic flavor) and an espresso martini (should we say the best in the city???). A piece of candied bacon came on the Bloody Mary and I'm still thinking about it. Then the food. I got a cheeseburger and fries and it was freaking fantastic. So juicy and tender, tons of flavor, one of the top burgers in St. Louis in my opinion. My husband got a special which was a braised beef Benedict and he was VERY happy. He likes a good burger and still said his meal was the best. They plate everything so beautifully, this is like a high class culinary experience in a (clean diner) with great prices. And the small menu is very preferred because it doesn't take you an hour to decide. And the fries - so fresh and crispy. This place deserves all the love. I was so impressed with it, it doesn't look like much from the outside but it is so worth it.

I would call this place the perfect "city slicker" diner…read more The location is on a busy street, they have a side alley that is also their patio. They are very wheelchair accessible, and they make that known. There's no moving tables or chairs to ensure this. Which is great! But it does make it very difficult to come with children who are high chair aged. It's very "self-service". There's a host/food runner who seats you and brings your food out. You order all your food on your own device off of a QR code. The menu is very eclectic, no ways to personalize and very expensive. After ordering you can tell everything is made to order so it does take a minute to get your food which I'm not knocking. But you order and tip ahead of time like it's a normal restaurant and it's just not that. I'm taking my own order so it takes a lot of the personal connection or service out of the experience. Which brings me back to being the perfect city diner. Now the food, we were actually recommended to come here because of the pancakes. Which we had gotten both the kids and regular pancakes. The pancakes comes with EVERYTHING on them while the kids pancakes have everything on the side. NOTE: they are the same exact dish, the only difference is the kids dish is the condiments on the side. As far as flavor goes. The pancakes weren't bad, they have crispy edges and fluffy centers. But you can tell they're fried in a heavy oil of sorts or butter. It reminded everyone in our party of funnel cake. It tastes like we were eating overpriced fair food. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fair food but not for a sit down breakfast where I'm expecting AMAZING pancakes. This is a pancake shaped funnel cake. The bacon was overcooked, dry and for the price wasn't worth what we had gotten. Every piece was crumbly because it was overcooked. So if you're a soft bacon person, don't waste your taste buds. We also had gotten the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. It came on a ciabatta type bread with a side of potatoes (don't forget there's not substitutions when ordering for yourself). The sandwich was simple, came with pickled onions and homemade pickles on the side. All that to say, it's a great place if you don't cook yourself at home. If you have a small kitchen and maybe don't enjoy cooking. This place is for you. Its a good "home cooked" meal you can have. But, honestly at least to me, not worth the price. But try it for yourself! I won't be back because it's not for me, but there is a patron for this type of place and that's for the non-cooking people.

No one knew my name, though, and that was OK with me. I like my anonymity. I also like my coffee black, and they serve a good black coffee here. But here! The entire menu can be made vegetarian. So 5 stars for food. Everything that we had was ah-mazing. The proportions were just enough. You'll walk out satisfied but not full. Cute ambience- a cozy feel Description of food- I love how the menu identified common allergens. When we were seated, My daughter who is gluten intolerant, explained that she has a gluten allergy. She orders the Chakchouka that is listed as GF. It came out with slices of bread. We were not sure if the bread was gf. After about 10 minutes our waiter walked past us. We flagged him down and asked if the bread was gf and he looked at us like we had 10 eyes and said "no- absolutely not" and briskly walked away.... Well why would a server bring a child bread when they knew she was gluten intolerant? Which brings me to the service- We ordered 3 coffees. One hot with almond milk, one iced with oat milk and one hot with 1/2 and 1/2. The coffee came out and 2 "milks" were placed in front of us and our waiter moved on. We had to wait 5ish minutes before our waiter walked by again to ask what the milks were. He simply said - that one is 1/2 and 1/2 then walked away. Now I get it... if he was slammed... I'd understand why he was so short... but at the time we were in there there were 2 waiters and 4 tables. He was not slammed. We also didn't get the iced coffee until we flagged down a different waiter and he exchanged a hot coffee for an iced. The "other waiter" was on his game while I think ours was on hurting to get back on his phone.

There are complimentary snacks coffee and tea available 24/7. Location is great. The place has a bit of a dated feel and there are some repairs/upgrades needed here and there but keep in mind Dear Traveler: this couple has only owned the place for 15 months so I'm confident minor facelifts are coming. Only VERY minor complaint, and it's only from personal taste: food although delicious is a bit carb-heavy. The Fleur-de-Lys is the epitome of a luxurious getaway. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
