Sooo Yolk was a pretty basic start to the day. There was a bit of chaos figuring out the seating at first, but they eventually got it sorted. The place was very busy, and the staff were clearly hustling, so we went ahead and put our full order in all at once. The food was filling, with a few things I'd tweak. If you're just looking for a solid, no-frills breakfast spot, this works. What we ordered: Avocado Toast: So good Two Eggs & Bacon: Not a fan of cheese being added on top of scrambled eggs... like why? Also, the bacon wasn't as crispy as I prefer Cheese Grits: Yummy Corned Beef Hash: Surprisingly good mix

My friends and I came here after the Shamrock Shuffle, and it was the PERFECT post race breakfast! No matter what kind of breakfast you're in the mood for, there's something on the menu for you. We had 7 people in our group on a Sunday morning and had to wait for a little bit, but got seated fairly quickly. The restaurant was packed but our server was still very attentive and got us everything we needed. Would definitely come back again!

Breakfast and Brunch? ABSOLUTELY! I was in town for the chicago marathon and needed some breakfast. My friend went early and got on the list for a table, it was about a 20 min wait! It was packed on a Saturday! We were seated quickly in a nice corner booth. Given menus and had our drink orders taken super quick. I had the lemon blueberry pancakes. Scrumptious! The flavor was so light and the pancakes so fluffy! My friend has some kind of cinnamon roll French toast and roll. It was soooo good! The bathrooms located in the back of the restaurant were super clean.

We stopped by later in the day around 11a and there was a wait to be seated. The wait was short, about 15 minutes and we were seated in a booth. The service here is quick and friendly and our order was taken right away. I had the "Green Machine Omelet" which is made of egg whites and has spinach, green pepper, broccoli, garlic (heavy) and chicken sausage. My companion had the French toast and fruit. The food servings were large and tasty. The items tasted fresh and we are looking forward to our next visit.

Went in for a take out order. Manager very nice and helped me order for my celiac disease and answered all my questions. Assured me the safety of my food and even offer gluten free bread ( not toasted!!) Omelet was delicious! Very happy until I saw the bread ! Luckily it was wrapped separately but it was clearly toasted and was also regular bread. Too large for it to be GF. Luckily I caught it but it could have ended bad for me Overall a very good restaurant but take extra care if you have allergies

We heard about this place- there's a few locations in Chicago, this bright and sunny location was bustling on a Sunday morning. They don't take reservations but thankfully we were seated right away. Their portions are pretty hefty but our group did well finishing their food! We started with a few lattes than ordered blueberry pancakes, avocado toast, yolk berry bowl, corned beef hash and a bagel. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend checking out one of their locations.

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to have breakfast on a Tuesday morning close to our hotel and Yolk fit the bill. It was a 5-7 minute walk to Yolk. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. We placed our order and it arrived in no time. I had two eggs over medium, hash browns, sausage, and wheat toast. Everything was great. My wife ordered an omelette and enjoyed her omelette. I'd definitely recommend Yolk for breakfast. It's a quaint place that does what it needs to for breakfast. It's a solid option!

We came here for brunch. Everything was perfect. They have some really interesting coffees, served warm or cold. The skillet with hash browns and omelette is delicious. We also had the pancakes which were amazing too. The waiters were really nice and pleasant

Two eggs combo with hash browns, chicken sausage and pancakes for $19? Yes, please! Corned beef hash and eggs with pancakes for $22? Of course! I had Yolk in my Yelp collection I built before my trip to Chicago so what a surprise to find it right next to my hotel as I trekked from the L train to Grant Park. They didn't blink an eye when I entered with suitcase, even finding me a table towards the back out of traffic. Destiny provided eggceptional service with a razzle dazzle smile and great attitude. The menu was extensive, but I settled on the egg combo, curious about the "side of pancakes." This "side" was actually one YUGE pancake that, when experienced, was like a meal in itself. Destiny kept the coffee coming and was very attentive to this weary traveler. Eggcelent breakfast and ambiance.

Great sit-down restaurant for breakfast / brunch. A no frills joint for good, American-style breakfast. The menu is quite extensive, service is fairly attentive, and food doesn't take long to come out. I wouldn't overly recommend the french toast (it was quite egg-y and not cinnamon-y enough for me / a bit too soggy) but the eggs & protein were very good. And my horchata coffee was delicious. As soon as our party walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile, and once we were sat our waitress was quick to ask us what we'd like to get started. Our server checked in with us a few times during our stay, and left us our check for whenever we were ready. It was also a breeze to pay (scan a QR code and pay via mobile wallet).

The lemon blueberry pancakes were the best I have ever had. The staff was attentive and everything came out quickly and efficiently.

It's a cute place, service was totally fine, the food was just okay. It was in my opinion and my friend I was with pretty underwhelming and felt really under seasoned. The pancakes were good though!

The place is super cute and clean. My lemon blueberry pancakes were amazing, not too sweet and super fluffy. My boyfriend got the California omelet and it was definitely lacking salt. It had all the ingredients to make it yummy, but needed better seasoning. Our waitress was very kind and attentive.

Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

It feels upscale but still comfortable. Service was attentive and paced well, especially considering it was Restaurant Week and fairly busy. The Restaurant Week menu offered a great variety. We started with the crispy arancini, which were perfectly golden on the outside and creamy inside with a rich glaze that added a nice depth of flavor. The wild mushroom risotto had great earthy flavor and was very rich, definitely a heavier dish but satisfying if you are in the mood for something indulgent. The gnocchi were soft and pillowy with fresh basil and roasted tomatoes that brightened the dish nicely. For entrées, the filet mignon was cooked beautifully, tender and medium rare with a flavorful sauce that complemented it well. The chicken parmesan had a solid crisp and good seasoning, though it leaned more classic than standout. Portions overall felt fair for the prix fixe price. Dessert was a sweet finish. The tiramisu was light, creamy, and not overly heavy, which we appreciated. Overall, 4 stars. Great ambiance and solid execution across the board. Why a lower rating? We ordered a cocktail off of their menu and asked for it without one ingredient (simple syrup). They said they might be able to do it, but they would have to make it from scratch. Wait, does this mean their cocktails are all premade sitting in a jar under the bar? If I'm ordering a cocktail from a bar downtown & paying downtown prices, I'd like to think they're all going to be made from scratch by my bartender. The drink turned out pretty weak. First off, this was the best service I've ever received in my entire life. Truly, nothing topped this. The waiters were genuinely the most kind and fun loving ppl, and they be complimenting your dish choices, giving tips on how to elevate each dish, boxing up our food and putting it at the front desk, giving us pink floral plates because we said we liked their plates.... Just so genuinely kind! To start, we got the truffle gnocchi. Oh my goodness this was the MOST soft and pillowy gnocchi I've EVER had in my entire life. I don't think anything can beat the texture. Not tooo truffle-y either, which is great for folks that don't want to be drowned by that flavor. We also tried the toast royale. It was huge hunks of sourdough griddled with beef fat. This made for a very umami bite with that caramelized shallot butter on the side, but it was a bit heavy for us given how many other carbs we've already ordered. I'd definitely recommend getting this if you're with a big group! The star of the show - Oliver's cheeseburger. Now I'm not one that enjoys salt. This burger was SALTY... and I loved it??!! The salt comes from the 5 year aged cheddar and their sauce, which gave it such a rich and full bite. The French fries are truffle shoestring fries that comes with their sauce, and it's just so so so so good. I genuinely loved this meal a whole lot!!! Highly recommend!!

The fish was so flaky and tender that it was falling apart. The breading was perfect. I also loved the fries it came with because they were crispy on the outside and had a good amount of potato in each bite -- Crispy Fried Chicken: 9/10 the breading was also perfect but I do think it's missing a good sauce. the dish is included with a bottle hot sauce but because I don't do spicy sauces, I did find the fried chicken a little dry on its own. Loved the coleslaw and mashed potatoes that came on the side though -- Lobster Mac and Cheese: 8/10 very creamy and cheesy but not much lobster flavor. wasn't a bad dish at all but I probably would skip this for next time because the other dishes were more of a standout -- Sticky Date Toffee: this is the dessert they're known for and I have to admit I was reluctant to try it at first. I don't really like dates or toffee and I had read a few reviews who mentioned it was a little salty. I'm not sure if they adjusted the saltiness based on feedback but I didn't find the dessert too salty at all. It felt so balanced- the warm sponge cake, the toffee sauce, the cold ice cream and crumbs for a little bit of texture all came together perfectly In the future I hope to try their vodka pasta with spicy sausage, their chicken pot pie, their cornbread, and Bella Punch or Cosmo In terms of service, our waitress was extremely attentive and sweet -- multiple wait staff were keeping our water filled and checking in with us But outside of the food and service, I will say I was a little disappointed they charge for reservations here - it's $2.50 person and even though the cost isn't that high, I think the concept of charging for a reservation versus taking a deposit or charging a no show fee is hard for me to get behind Keep in mind they also have a 3% surcharge included in the bill as well But overall I loved my experience dining here-- I think the have so many amazing dishes to try and it was so hard to choose so I definitely would love to come back to try more
