Super conveniently located inside Ogilvie if you take the Metra. I had some time to kill before catching a show at the Cadillac and it was a miserably humid day so I was grateful that I didn't even have to go outside to get some brunch! The server was super sweet and our food came out in no time. I was particularly impressed by my iced latte, which was more on par with a coffee shop latte than something you'd get at a breakfast chain. I think the prices are a little high for what you get (for example, a plain bowl of oatmeal is $11 and each topping is between $1-$2) but I guess that's pretty expected for the convenience. Great breakfast/brunch place in the heart of Downtown Chicago! Menu has lots of items to choose from. Our table ordered the Chorizo Benedict (only on the winter menu) with a side of Cheesy Grits, Grilled Cheese Supreme, 3 Egg Omelet and pancakes. Service was fast, did not wait long. The ambiance reminiscent of a diner. The waitress was very friendly. I got the vanilla latte but it tasted like mostly milk. The banana bread French toast was delicious aside from a piece of onion that seemed to accidentally find its way baked into it. The cheese grits were creamy. Quite possibly the BEST pancakes and hash browns I've had in my entire life. They were both so fluffy and buttery and exactly what I was hoping for. And eggs over easy are always the way to go here! 4 stars for Yolk - West Loop. This is a very convenient location in Chicago - on the bottom floor of the Olgilvie Transportation Center. This is a nice sit down restaurant to get a nice breakfast. All of the employees I encountered were very friendly, including our waitress. The Omelettes are big - generous portions and the meals will surely fill you up. The strawberry orange juice was delicious and very fresh, the mocha was tasty as well. My only gripe is the additional charges for even basic toppings in Omlettes - nothing is included. Overall, I'd recommend if you want a nice fancy sit down breakfast lunch downtown, but it is not cheap. read more

We had brunch at Yolk's Ogilvie location this morning and really enjoyed our meal: coffee, scrambled eggs, ham steak, a side salad and soup. Our server was wonderful: super friendly, attentive, and kept our coffees filled throughout the meal. Unfortunately, the bathroom situation continues to be a real issue. As I mentioned in a previous review, only one bathroom was functioning, and this has apparently been going on for at least six months. This morning, the line was three people deep. For a busy brunch restaurant, having only one functioning restroom for this long really needs to be addressed. Great service and an enjoyable meal, but the restroom issue detracts from an otherwise very good experience. read more

I went back here in 2023 visiting Chicago for a concert and needed a breakfast place. We came across Yolk, walking distance from our hotel. I am not a big breakfast fan to begin with, thus the random combination. In my opinion, the place is probably overrated. I would rather go to a mom and pops shop in my home town than here. Honestly I just thought it was alright. Little pricy for what you get. The best was my girlfriends chilaquiles. The chicken or egg sandwich was alright nothing too over the top, imagine just a slightly higher quality chicken patty with egg and some type of Cane's sauce on top. The pancake was way overcooked and dry, sadly not even the chocolate chips could save it. Wasn't sure what was going on that morning or if there was staffing issues but could definitely tell there was an attitude with a couple of the servers too. I used to visit this location often as it was just around the corner from my condo. If it weren't for the convenient location, I probably would not choose to come here often. The menu is expansive and there is a wide variety of options to please everyone in your party. Prices are high, but that is to be expected given its location downtown in a train station. The food itself is fine - nothing particularly show stopping, but good standard breakfast food. I really like the thick cut bacon here. Service here, in my experience, has been largely overwhelming. Sometimes I get a gem of a server, but most of the time I had issues with servers who were rude or inattentive. If you're looking for a quick breakfast, Yolk is fine, but if you're looking for an overall positive experience, look elsewhere. read more

Food - the breakfast Mac n cheese was where it's at. I was glad they had many vegetarian options, including a veggie breakfast Mac options. The options are all pretty good! Walked from the station to Yolk, looks like a nice place very bright and the staff was friendly. They bring you water to your table which is very nice! The orange juice was fresh squeezed so yum! I also got a Strawberry Cheesecake iced latte, very coffee forward which is good because it's not too sweet and the aftertaste tastes like strawberries very good. My husband ordered the 5 egg california omelet, it came with hash browns and 2 pancakes. I ate his pancakes which were yummy, i had a side of hash browns and a cinnamon roll. The hash browns seemed very dry or old not sure which they also were a bit cold which was a bummer. The cinnamon roll came nice and hot but nothing special about it it's okay for a regular cinnamon roll though. The bathrooms were clean, but the second bathroom door doesn't lock so be aware of that, also they don't use paper towels to dry your hands just the hand blower thing that dries. read more

I usually never leave reviews but I'm upset about this one. My friends and I are from out of town and came to this spot and were very disappointed. The coffee tasted good and that's about it. My friends coffee cup had lip stick on it. My sister bit into her chicken sandwich the chicken was raw. My hash browns came raw and cold as well. The server was nice about it and I don't think it's their fault but this type of stuff is unacceptable for a restaurant. read more
