Non-hash browns
Sarah N.

Very excited to go here. Never been before. It kind of smelled when we entered the establishment. So we decided to sit outside. We were then bombarded with bees - So many bees. My friend went to the restroom and told me - don't go in there it's disgusting. They always say - judge a restaurant by the restrooms - not a great start. Our server seemed preoccupied. Then the food arrived - hash browns not even brown at all - just vaguely cooked strips of potato. The hollandaise sauce was definitely NOT hollandaise sauce. The bees kept getting worse and worse. So we got our food to go. Very overpriced for underwhelming food.

Meh... Despite all the positive reviews, this place didn't live up to the hype. The food was just okay and nothing was technically wrong with it, except for the grits--they tasted like they came straight out of an instant box. Overall, it felt like an uninspired breakfast you'd get at a rundown IHOP. The coffee was also pretty unremarkable. If you're in a pinch, it's fine, but if you have a few extra minutes, walk over to Egg Harbor instead.

Corned Beef Hash & Eggs

Comfort food at its best. This place has a great diner vibe with good service and great breakfast. I had corned beef hash and eggs that comes with two huge pancakes. The meal was very satisfying and had great flavor. The portions are huge and I couldn't finish everything. This could become a regular weekend breakfast spot.

My daughter and I came here while visiting Chicago and glad we found this place. It was busy, but we were seated right away outside in the shade and around greenery which was very pretty and also quiet. The gluten-free bread was toasted and very tasty with the avocado and egg sandwich I ordered. Overall, a very good experience. Server was attentive. Restaurant was clean.

This place was absolutely delicious! We didn't know anything about it, just popped in for some breakfast. We ordered the apple oat crumble French toast from the winter seasonal menu and the two egg combo. We also ordered the horchata cold brew. It was perfectly flavored and not too sweet. The food came out pretty fast considering it was a bit busy. The vibe was nice. It was like a diner feel. When we walked in we were greeted by at least 3 different servers! Although it was a big restaurant, the friendliness of the servers made it feel more like a small, homey restaurant. There was a variety of table sizes, so it could accommodate small or large parties.

Always good fast and friendly service at this location. Been here a bunch of times. And will continue to come back. Good food priced fairly.

Chilaquiles

Very busy on a Sunday. No outside drinks allowed. Ambience was nice. Our server Erin was very sweet. We ordered the chilaquiles and a breakfast sandwich with cheesy grits. Everything was tasteful but very large order

Great breakfast after a chilly walk to this location. Seated right away. I had pancakes with strawberries and my wife had a combo plate with eggs, waffles, bacon, and hash browns.(I should have taken a picture) The pancakes were just okay. Three large cakes with berries in and on top. Just not a lot of flavor. My wife's breakfast was almost too pretty to eat. But she did. Eggs cooked just right, very tasty bacon, fluffy waffles, and crisp taters. Service was pleasant and efficient. Restaurant was clean. We were there early so no noise or Sunday morning chaos. I know there are other Yolk locations but this one is a go to place in my book.

Nice little joint in the downtown. We walked in and was quickly greeted and seated. The space is really open and bright and we were fortunate to be seated next to the window to people watch. Onto the food: 1) kids s'mores pancake - this was bigger than I expected and they did not go lightly on the toppings. Needless to say, this was very much kid approved! 2) smoked salmon eggs Benedict. This was ok. I like all of the ingredients, but would have preferred my smoke salmon in slices not diced up (first time ever having it diced up). They sautéed the onions, but some were still raw-ish. Not a bad dish, but not the best. 3) Horchata cold brew - this was so good and refreshing and bonus for being made with oat milk! Overall, I would not hesitate to come back to this spot or any of their other locations.

Scrumptious. Not typical to say about diner food, but this place is a step above. The lady serving was very helpful with the menu. The egg scrambler was thick / meaty / cheesy but also had great flavor (just enough salt and spice). The pancakes were fluffy and toppings were delicious. What I liked too about this place (at least the shift I saw) was the employees being friendly / joking with each other and seeming to have a good time yet still get their work done. (Minor ding - the cup for water I was given had a smudge of peanut butter or something on the inside, but the lady replaced it immediately). Yolk is a great place and I'd do breakfast / brunch again here again.

Side of Hash browns and sausage gravy

Stopped for breakfast on a Friday morning. No wait and sat at the bar. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. My husband ordered the corned beef and it was a huge portion plus the pancakes! I got a side of hashed browns w a side is sausage gravy. Was delicious!

All-Star combo

Super friendly wonderful place to eat everything is always so good. Never a complaint one of my favorite places to eat.

Flushing clearly an issue.

Why can't Yolk management get the bathrooms in working order?? We normally eat at the West Loop location in the Ogilvie train station where one of the two bathrooms has been out of commission for months. Today we ate at the Streeterville location where the bathrooms are no better. Come on management, how long does it take to get the facilities in order?

Hello there! With expanded outdoor seating, do you allow dogs on your patio?

Good morning. Yes we do. :)

Can I bring champagne into restaurant?

Hi there. Yes you can... we are BYOB.

Does this place have bottomless mimosas?

Hi Britni... we are a BYOB restaurant. If you bring in some champagne we have fresh OJ or Strawberry OJ (made in house). We also have our own Bloody Mary Mix if you want to bring some vodka. :)

Do people like the new potatoes? I find them bland and without color - not comparable at all to the old ones which were crisp, had color and, by the way, are also misleadingly featured in all the company's pictures

I'm in complete agreement - I'm now asking for them "well-done".

Once you place your order, someone there will get you a seat, so you won't have to hunt for your own seating (which is soooo helpful) and then servers will run your food and drinks to you. We had the morning sandwich, turkey bacon and egg croissant , lavender lemonade, a lemon mini Bundt cake and the salted chocolate cold brew. The food was soooo good!! The lemon Bundt was lemony but not overpowering, my favorite breakfast sandwich was the croissant; it had a sauce on it that was soooooo good!!!! The drinks were just as good as the food! We tried a classic brunch favorite: Chicken and Waffles. Juicy, crispy, and well-seasoned chicken served on top of a warm, fluffy, sweet waffle, topped with a scoop of butter and drizzled with syrup. Such a delicious combination! We also tried the Huevos Rancheros: a crispy tortilla topped with a spread of black beans, cheese, a sunny-side-up egg, salsa, and guacamole. The perfect way to start your morning! They also have an extensive selection of pastries, so there's definitely something for everyone.

So searching in Yelp I see a Cuban restaurant, and that's my fav, so I went in and I had a great early dinner. Cafecito would be at home in a pre-revolutionary Cuban building, when Art Deco architecture permeated much of Havana and the other major cities in Cuba. Plenty of outdoor seating, but I chose to eat in the cafe area due to time constraints. I had the Vaca Frita which I haven't had in over 60 years and wow, it was amazing. It came with the proverbial white rice, black beans with plenty of condiment, and maduros. Oh yummy. My Cuban grandma would have been pleased... The waiter was indeed, a Cuban American who had come over during the early Cuban diaspora. We chatted a bunch about the old country and had a pleasant conversation about being from the same province in the island. Great reminiscing, great food, great service. Yum.
