Restaurant week menu! Great options, lots of food. Service was a little spotty, but he was super nice. Ube Colada was so good (small for the price, but very good) same with the Old Fashioned. Egg drop soup was indeed flavorless as another yelper noted. Walnut shrimp was very very good. All in all, for a Restaurant attached to a hotel, everything was way better than expected. The food is fantastic here!! Wonderful cocktails too and a full bar. They have a daily happy hour from 3:30-6:30pm. I love the decor and ambiance. Beautiful wooden tables and fun lighting. Very specious interior. Excellent and friendly service. The fried crab wonton appetizer was sooooo good! Wow!!!!!!!!!! It came with a sweet chili sauce that complimented it perfectly. I'm bummed I had to share it. I really enjoyed the mapo tofu and I loved the fried rice!!!! Some of the best fried rice I've ever had. So fluffy and flavorful. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken and broccoli dish and the chicken was very tender. My Ube Colada cocktail was the perfect beverage. Every time I stay at this hotel I eat brunch at Leiya the last day. The service is quick, friendly. The coffee is hot and fresh. Food is quite decent. The restaurant is clean with a beautiful view of the park. No complaints. read more

One of my favorite Asian spots in the south loop, large portions and it always hits the spot. All the food I've tried is great, my go to dish being the spicy chili shrimp. Well worth the visit! Charming restaurant on the corner of 11th and Wabash. I agree with the other reviews service can be slow at times but not for lack of effort from the staff. I had an amazing server Jay who yes was busy when I fist sat down but it was only him and one other server taking care of a number of patrons. Jay went above and beyond to provide great service. Given the location i think management may not know how to staff as demand can be pretty variable. Also I think they need to work on their signage because this place should be packed given the quality of their food. Food is delicious, authentic and fresh. It was one of the only times I've had orange chicken that was tender and juicy every single bite. The canton beef could have had a bit more beef but the mushrooms were great and a nice variety from the usual. The wonton soup had a different flavor - they add a lot of seaweed which I have never tried or seen in such a soup before but it was pretty good. I will DEFINITELY be going back and can't recommend enough. read more

Located at the hotel Leiya is surprisingly inexpensive for the area. The Hilton provides guests with some discounts at the bar. Happy hour every day at 3:30 is awesome. Their green tea is some of the best and comes in a very satisfying quantity for a tea drinker who likes a whole pot to themselves. A very satisfying piece of cast iron holds the tea and is a delightful centerpiece The lighting in the restaurant is exquisite and the brightness is not intense which is nice. Some restaurants I go to it feels like being in a projector lamp! Mapo Tofu - impressive tofu dish. Good flavor however I think I might have fudged up a bit by ordering it low spicy as they did no spicy. It was still good but I was looking for a tiny bit of tang, maybe some of that stuff they stick in hot and sour soup is what I was expecting. Wasn't bad but I would recommend you refrain from modifying the spicy level. Lychee Martini - A lot of the Asian restaurants in the area make these. They are awesome. Having a bit of a hint of grape and pear with a moderate to heavy note of pinapple at the beginning the drink is sweet and comfortable to drink with a light heat and minimal sting. Those looking for a hard drink that isn't too alcohol on the throat will enjoy. May be a bit mild for some throats looking for the burn. Rice - you may ask. Why review rice. It's rice. That's because this isn't your average Walmart rice. This isn't your average Americanized bastardized rice. Actually has flavor worth eating. read more

We enjoyed our Lychee Martinis but it took a while for the bartender to make eye contact and/or take our order... we watched her make two drinks before she acknowledged us, it felt like she was intentionally not making eye contact until she was ready to take our orders. Felt weird. Anywho, Once she did, she was kind and made the drinks quick. It also helped that the staff as soon as we walked in acknowledged us, brought water and menus... I have mixed feelings. The egg drop soup had zero flavor that I couldn't even eat it. The orange chicken was ok. The chicken was a bit hard. The honey sesame chicken was way better. The schzuan beef was good and it was a big portion. The service was definitely 3 stars. We waited a lot to get our beers and martini even longer. Yes there was one server for a whole section and I feel bad for him but that is no excuse. Then the waiter took a while to come get our order. Small Asian cuisine attached to Homewood suites by Hilton (but not the hotel restaurant). Wasn't expecting much but it was quite good. I absolutely love the spicy seafood noodle soup which is my go to when I return from any oversea trips. Happen to walk into this place as I was checking in. To my surprise they had this dish and took a chance (with little to no expectations of the outcome). To my surprise it was quite good. i'm staying at the hotel and it was snowing so i decided to try this place out. all day i walk past this restaurant and during the day, there are few customers but the night i ate there there were about 15-20 guests. i ordered the pork belly appetizer and it was fabulous! super crispy and flavorful. well that filled me up and i got a hot pot soft shell crab. it came with a flame under the pan but there was no sauce. the crab was chewy and not that soft. it is marked as spicy but i'm asian and it wasn't spicy. not my favorite dish but the veggies were cooked perfectly. i would still recommend. read more

The waitress was very nice at Leiya Restaurant. Also, the atmosphere of the restaurant was modern and beautifully decorated. However, the food was another story. I ordered a 3 egg omelette. It was way overcooked, a little more it would have been burnt! Also, the $4 coffee tasted burnt. I was completely dissatisfied and disappointed. The restaurant was recommended to me. I will show you pictures of the food for reference. I also will show you a picture from the internet/web of what an omelette should look like! I still ate it because I just got off a plane and I was hungry. Since the waitress was so nice I didn't want to cause any problems for her, by refusing it. I would normally have rejected the food. I just don't think the cook has that much experience cooking omelettes. I forgot to add, I went to the restroom and I looked through the kitchen doors and saw flies all over the kitchen and utensils. Visiting Chicago for the weekend and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn South Loop. Leiya isn't technically a hotel bar but it I'm right outside of the lobby. Normally I find hotel restaurants and bars to be way over priced and mediocre. I decided to have a night cap and wasn't hungry. After my first drink and smelling all the awesomeness from the kitchen I decided to try some things. The chicken spring rolls, potstickers, crab wontons and deep friend pork belly were excellent. The cocktails were very well made. I had a martini or two and my friend had "an excellent old fashioned" The staff were very friendly, and the place is cozy and inviting. Price were very fair. I highly recommended you're staying at the hotel, walking past it, or live near by. Great spot! read more

Stayed at the Hilton Harden Inn, this was convenient option as it's located in the same space as the hotel. The food was actually great! Tried the house chow mein, it's your tradition noddles. We went with family for a quick lunch. Took a while to get service after we sat down. We didn't order any specialty beverages but couple beers. The beer came in these tiny cocktail glass cups... that was a first. We ordered beef noodle soup, it was very bland and serviced with egg noodles. Spicy chicken tenders was amazing. You might want to order extra salt for take out. It did come with a small bit of soy sauce.
