The server was really friendly, asked how my day was, and gave great recommendations. The cherry blossom matcha was surprisingly really good and super unique. It has this slightly umami, sweet flavor. First sip was a little unexpected (almost tasted like medicine), but it actually tastes really good after a few sips and grows on you. This is a cute little minimalist coffee shop right downtown. The customer service was very good, and they are moving pretty efficiently because they were pretty busy. So you can surely suit yourself with whatever mood you feel like. I have some sentiments towards Blue Bottle because I lived in San Francisto for several years, where it started as tiny valley shops. I used to sip their coffee standing - there weren't even chairs lol. So the first time I saw one in Chicago a few years ago, I was so surprised to see it standing nowadays as such a polished, modern space. If you've had Blue Bottle in California back in the early days, then you'd know they are good for LATTEs. Any sort of latte. Their beans have a milder taste comparing to some other brands that are good for espresso. I also tried their avocado toast. The flavor's decent, nothing fancy. Baristas were friendly. It was a rainy day, and it's very soothing to just sit by the window, watch the city outside, sip my coffee and do a bit writing. First time going to this location and I have to definitely go back more often at least while I'm in the office to take a break from being inside of the office. I do think their latte is a little bit overpriced cause that was 8 something for just a 16 ounce of ice latte I do like that. I already came with with oat milk so I didn't have to make a substitution but I typically like almond milk in my lattes but that would've made it nine dollars so I just kept it as the oat milk. I went around 3 PM. It was pretty quiet in there not super busy. I did order through the app that way I didn't have to wait in line just in case they were busy, but walked in and grabbed my drink and that was it. Staff is super cool and nice. But we were particularly interested in Blue Bottle, despite the fact my partner who lives in California already has tried it, because we saw they had an Orange Cream NOLA latte special going on while we were in Chicago. Sadly when we get there, the cashier let us know they're actually starting the special next week-- despite it being on the online ordering menu or maybe it was for the other location nearby. Besides that, I believe the cashier recommended us a blackberry yuzu latte? That was insanely good-- subtle but still citrusy. So I am glad we still stopped in. We couldn't get a pic of anything because we had to rush to Mr. Beef. But the staff was friendly, the cafe is so chic, and the views outside are insane. This coffee shop has some amazing offerings! The winter blend and winter espresso both sounded divine. The winter blend has notes of dark chocolate, molasses and blackberry while the winter espresso features flavors of dark chocolate, raspberry and salted toffee. I ultimately went with the winter latte which also had hints of juniper and pink peppercorn and wasn't overly sweet. The coffee is a perfect roast and the latte was just beautifully balanced in flavor and depth. The shop itself is airy and bright and they had plenty of seating available for catching up, people watching, or studying. As always, the smell of freshly roasted and ground beans welcomed us as soon as we entered the door. One hot chocolate, one affogato, and a NOLA affogato later, we were sitting by a window and watching the crowds wandering North of the River. But it leaves me torn between my love for their coffee and the strain it brings on my wallet. This place can't be your everyday-go-to coffee place unless you're ready to shell out steep price that is $10+ tip for 12 oz cup. I tried their seasonal Saffron Vanilla Latte. The divine aroma of saffron complemented well with sweet notes of vanilla. 5/5 for the coffee. This location is fairly spacious compared to Tribune tower one. It's clean, neat, upscale, very roomy. However, it's still always packed and the location is so good, I'd rather get my coffee, come out of the coffee shop and sit outside, overlooking or by the Chicago river. Apart from the hefty price, only reason I'm chopping off one more star is because my barista was unfriendly and looked so disinterested in taking my order, didn't greet/smile at all. I've been a fan of blue bottle coffee for the New Orleans coffee since I tried it 2 years ago! The flavor is very unique and balanced sweetness. I don't see on the menu so I'm not sure if it's like a secret drink. Their bakery selection is also tasty especially the croissant. I love coming here while taking a nice long walk. read more

There are many, many seats & different types of seating arrangements (countertop seating in the very back, near the front corner, & at the front facing the employees, wooden booth seating on the side, baby chairs & a lowered toddler level table near the back, tables that fit 4 at the middle interior). Outlets everywhere! They sell a number of very cute items like instant coffee packages & drip coffee methodologies. 2 bathrooms in the back. Gorgeous 5000 kelvin lighting inside (white, 'daylight'). Stunning views of w wolf point plaza & the bridge that leads to Wacker drive, and the Chicago River. Woke up super early on a Sunday and decided to start the day with a coffee date here. The person serving us was clearly not having a good day, which I can empathize with. However, for the price I'm paying I shouldn't feel like an inconvenience and I should absolutely not be getting stale food. The coffee is mid, def not worth venturing back here. What's crazy about the whole ordeal is that I've gone to the nyc locations several times and during busy periods and have enjoyed their coffee and pastries enough to want to come to this location even though it was out of the way. read more

Wow. What a wonderful place. The food and drinks are yummy and I just love the atmosphere. I went here to study and I have to say I think the structure of the place is perfect for it. I often get distracted when coffee shops are too compact with a lot of noise and people close together but this place is very open with well spaced furniture. Not to mention the view. I had to go in it was so busy but honestly they make the coffee wick even though they make it fresh! Beautiful cafe by the River! My girlfriend and I checked out Blue Bottle Coffee's Wolf Point location and noticed how aesthetic and spacious the cafe is. The interior and space caught us by surprise because it looked like it would be small from the outside, but there were tons of seating and space inside. The interior was very modern and the space was very clean. They have tables all around the cafe and the bathrooms in the back were very nice as well. We ordered the OJI Slow Drip and the Iced NOLA (Iced New Orleans Coffee) The OJI Slow Drip was recommended to us and the drink is a Japanese-style cold brew served over ice. The OJI Drip has a very bold and strong flavor, but we liked the drink a lot!The Iced NOLA is our go to order and it always hits the spot.
