Fluffy pancakes are so amazing. Strawberry and cream cheese was our favorite. Small quiet place everyone was very friendly. Hope to come back before we head home.

Stopped here for breakfast after our original choice was booked solid. Located in-line with other businesses, this isn't a large place but it was clean. I ordered the original pancakes and an iced vanilla latte. Both were good. Staff was friendly.

We came here because we saw they served the fluffy cloud pancakes! There was a variety of options such as Nutella and taro. It is an order at the counter and find a seat setup. We ended up getting the taro pancakes and it wasn't too crowded when we first got there, but was packed when we left on a Sunday morning!

When I saw their advertisement for fluffy pancakes on the street and knew I had to stop by. We came around 9:30am on a Saturday morning and the place was busy, but there was still ample seating to accommodate us. My dining partner and I ordered the Nutella pancake, which included Nutella sauce, strawberry, blueberry, banana, whipping cream, and chopped peanuts. After we ordered and right before paying, we were told that all pancakes take about 20 minutes to prepare as they are made to order and asked if that would be alright. That was fine with us, but I wish there were a sign by the register to let us know before we ordered. The pancake itself was absolutely delightful, and a much try for cute food enthusiasts. When you shake the plate, the pancake does a little jiggle, which makes for an adorable video. There was also a small pink flag on the top that read "Hanabusa." We split the pancake because it looked relatively large and neither of us were that hungry, but we could have gotten two. The place consisted of three fat pancakes, but because of their airy nature, were a lot lighter and less filling than anticipated. The additional fruit, nuts, and nutella did a nice job of grounding it, but let this be your warning to each get your own! Overall this was a great experience and would highly recommend.

Arrived with my mini me on a Saturday afternoon after a few outings nearby. There was plenty seating, so we chose a lovely spot near the cutest floral signage with plenty of outdoor lightening. The staff was very informative, letting us know what they had an available. Our After a quick glance at the menu, we decided on splitting the Taro pancakes & 2 milk teas. drinks arrived first and they were yummy. Not long after we got our pancakes and we were so impressed. It was almost too pretty to eat but once we dug in, we couldn't stop eating. The fresh fruit on the side and the whipped cream and sauce was a nice and sweet touch.

This cafe is a cute idea but lacks execution. The pancakes were delicious but the setting is rather ordinary. This could be a really cute and unique place but overall the experience was just average. Gyoza were just okay but the savory items were appreciated.

This place was delicious! I adored my mocha pancakes. They were so fluffy that they melted in my mouth. They had a very nice chocolate and coffee cream on top. The fresh whipped cream and fruit complimented it perfectly.

Heard this place was famous for their soufflé pancakes, so had to come try. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The pancakes take about 15 min to make, but to be expected. I ordered the matcha pancakes and a cup of matcha to drink. The pancakes were perfectly cooked all the way, light, fluffy, and bouncy. The matcha syrup was a good amount of sweet and earthy. The fruit on the side was nice as well. The matcha tea was basic too. Overall, pretty cute spot that does pancakes pretty well. Each plate comes with 3 pancakes which was plenty for me.

We stumbled upon this cafe when we were looking for breakfast options near our hotel. The custard souffle pancakes were delicious and fluffy, the custard was light and flavorful. Nutella souffle pancakes came with fruits and it was delicious as well. We also enjoyed the matcha drinks, you can taste the matcha.

Surprisingly it wasn't packed but still had to wait about 30 min for the food to be ready. Well worth it though! The pancakes were delicious , seemed like we were eating clouds! We had the Nutella pancakes and the taro pancakes. The Nutella ones were a bit too sweet For my taste but the taro ones , outstanding!!!!! Cappuccino was good as well! Definitely recommend!

Japanese Pancakes are one of my favourite desserts. We tried the Mocha pancake, which was super delicious and so soft & fluffy. Great presentation and good service too! The ambiance was like a cute cafe with pink aesthetics, very instagrammable :)

I ordered takeout form hanabusa and was pleasantly surprised but the food. The pancakes were so fluffy and soft! They just melt in your mouth. They didn't taste eggy which was a surprise. I tried the ones with Nutella toppings that included a generous amount of Nutella, whipped cream, caramels and peanuts. Loved them and I will be definitely be ordering more from here!

The Original Pancake House has a menu to rival IHOP when it comes to pancake and crepe selection. So much to choose from! When we arrived around 8:15am, there were plenty of tables inside and outside on their tree covered patio, and the staff let us know we could sit anywhere we liked. We chose a table inside but the outside area is beautiful if you want to enjoy the Chicago summer. Our server arrived quickly and was very friendly. The kitchen was so fast it felt like she took our order, walked back to the kitchen, and returned with our meals. Their standard egg breakfasts come with a stack of pancakes - you can pay a little more to upgrade to one of the fun flavors, so we chose blueberry. The portions were so massive I ended up ordering two side dishes for my breakfast, and I still couldn't finish it all. The blueberry pancakes were filled with fresh blueberries and SO good, the egg scramble with feta was delicious, and the home fries were pretty good. Our server asked if I wanted them crispy. I said no, but I should have said yes. They were a little soft - still delicious - but you can tell they'd be even better with a bit of a crispy edge. The prices may seem a little high, but when you see how much food you get for the price, you'll realize what a deal it is. Each meal could easily feed two people! We were in and out in under an hour and everyone who worked here was lovely. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu on our next visit!

I would assume a place where the newest thing since the 1980s is the security camera would have vinyl with more cracks and patina than my trusty old leather jacket! But no, it's in fantastic shape. Especially given that, the vibe in here is awesome! It's like stepping through a time-portal. For food, I ordered an old favorite: Pigs in Blankets. The food came out fast, though, to be fair, there was only one other person dining in at the time. The sausage links were crisp, and the pancakes were lightly sweet and fluffy. All in all, great! While perhaps not enough to summon the Michelin Guide inspectors, it was better than the average greasy spoon. Finally, I really appreciate that the prices are reasonable, and that there is parking! Final verdict: I've had a small handful of spectacular breakfasts. I've also had criminal breakfasts, where two unsalted eggs, two bacon strips, and a tablespoon of potatoes costs $14.95. Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House finds itself in that sweet spot in between - it is neither a spectacular spot (often have prices to boot), nor is it an overpriced, underwhelming greasy spoon that stays in business thanks to regulars who have been coming for decades and don't want anything better.

Maybe they were pissed because I left after 2 full weekend days. But, when you have 2 part foreign speaking guys(with all those short ABBREVIATED-broken word sentences AND hesitating doing the training - it doesn't work too well. You have to ask 3 questions sometimes to get a simple answer on something being learned. Sometimes they made it sound more complex or acted like they don't feel like speaking, or you have to help them along with it all. don't know if the 2 Spanish speaking men just hoped I'd quit to have someone else there (maybe male or Spanish) in my place in time or what; and so they did what had to and sometimes changed what they told me after an hour or even 4 hours. That made me really upset (but didn't say much then). One woman in charge just said they "Get things done" like that's all that matters when it's unfair to have them train. Then, they have a crabby cook that glared at me from the time he first saw me. People aren't going to "make it" and EVENTUALLY die out if foreigner -TYPES (here long or not) push us out with little tricks like..."Oh we'll make this all-american one look like she isn't catching on. Some take it like it's avoiding certain workers and an excuse to not talk to them, or something similar to whispering (not knowing most of the time what's being said). Furthermore, If a worker gets sick to their stomach with a 104 fever after eating a meal they cooked for the employees and try calling in...doesn't work. I think they KEEP the voicemail filled. A few mentioned they don't like to give out cell numbers for that because they worry some if people won't show for work (depending on who). But eventually that could certainly happen. Remember people...say no to migrants unless they want to be in America's CULTURE, like not trying to take over things(even subtley).
