    Interior - "Very Tiny"
    Ian A.

I had a good experience at Yi's Cafe (Arcadia). I ordered the Tiramisu Latte ($4). I felt awake after sipping this silky, chill brew. Its aftertaste is reminiscent of dark chocolate. Honestly, the low price is baffling. CRAZY!! I arrived at Yi's Cafe (Arcadia) on Tuesday (around 12:55PM). Parking will require street parking. Fortunately, there's a nearby neighborhood with spots to park. Yi's Cafe (Arcadia) has awful visibility. It's extremely tiny, and it's hard to find even when searching. Staff is busy and efficient. Sudden waves of customers regularly appear, order, and vanish. There's almost a rabid scuffle as everyone took in the low affordable prices for such high quality coffee. Similar coffee could easily sell for $7+, yet all of the drinks are $4 or less!? CRAZY! My drink took about three minutes. Good time! As mentioned, I enjoyed the Tiramisu Latte ($4). This coffee carried a layered creaminess while capturing the essence of Tiramisu and a fresh roast. I appreciated the drink's strength and thoughtfulness. TASTY! Regarding ambiance, Yi's Cafe (Arcadia) is cramped & tiny. It felt like a big closet. It felt warm inside. There's two tiny interior counters, and there's two small patio tables. This is an order-and-leave spot. Still, there's some utility. There's customer internet; information is available by asking Staff. There's also one electrical outlet. There's no restroom, but there's two hand sanitizer bottles. The music also played very light pop music. Overall, I had a good experience at Yi's Cafe (Arcadia). The coffee is high-quality, and the prices are extremely low. I'd take advantage before these amazing prices increase. If you live nearby, you're ridiculously fortunate. I envy you. 4.8 out of 5.

    Lovers latte (vanilla, rose, strawberry)

#179 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. I don't know how their prices are so incredibly low but I'm here for it! A hot honey cinnamon latte with oatmilk was only $3.75! Like what?!! How is that even possible when the same drink runs between $7.50 to $9 everywhere else in SGV? And the latte was pretty good too. I went in thinking there was no way something a fraction of the typical price could taste as good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I went back and tried their seasonal Lovers Latte, made with vanilla, strawberry, and a hint of rose. Even with the milk substitution it was still only $4 - absolute insanity! This little gem of a coffee stand deserves so much love, and I hope they stay in business for years to come. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

Yi's Cafe is a small cafe that's great for drinks and quick bites. The prices are fair and it's a good value. The location is also close to some schools so it's perfect for students too. There is really limited seating inside so it is best to take it to go. FOOD - I've tried the chicken rice and the tuna melt. I thought they were good, quick bites. SERVICE - Good and friendly PARKING - limited street parking (free).

Tiramisu Latte, Summer Sunrise, and Vietnamese Coffee

Maybe the best kept secret for coffee and an affordable lunch. We had 3 drinks and a pastry for $11 on a Sunday afternoon - which is a steal! We ordered a tiramisu latte, the summer sunrise, and Vietnamese coffee. The tiramisu latte is the star of the show. The sweetness is just right. The summer sunrise was way too sweet and the Vietnamese coffee tasted as if the coffee beans were burnt. I'm not complaining though because I needed the caffeine and the Vietnamese coffee delivered. They had a deal where you can get a pastry for free if your purchase goes over $10 so we got the blueberry muffin warmed up and it was soft and moist. Service is quick and friendly. Couldn't say too much for the ambiance because there was only one table outside and this feels more like a grab and go spot. Other than that, I am very happy and will come back to try their lunch specials! For the summer sunrise, I'm sure that if we asked to adjust the sweetness, they would have been happy to! Parking might be tricky but street parking could be light depending on time of day!

This little cafe is a local hidden gem in Arcadia! You cannot beat their prices anywhere else. Lattes are under $4 and they use real espresso! My go to is the honey cinnamon latte and its better than some of the coffee shops that charge more than double! This is definitely a order and takeout place but there are a few chairs outside. I'm curious to go back to try their food too! Their whole menu is affordable which is amazing!

    Tiramisu Latte & Caramel Frappe

Finding a $4 iced latte in this economy is insane. I had a friend recommend this cafe to me a while ago and I finally found the chance to be able to go try it. It did not disappoint at all. It's a hole in the wall spot so there's only street parking available. There was only one guy working at the time and he was very patient and welcoming. We got a tiramisu latte, caramel frappe, and a banana pound cake. The total came out to be about $10. I think that's an absolute steal. The tiramisu latte was a bit on the sweeter side for me but it was still delicious. The caramel frappe was equally as delicious and icy. The banana pound cake was so yummy. I'm not sure if they rotate out their pastries but if it's available again, I'm definitely getting more. It was buttery and crumbly with a strong banana flavor in it. I've been seeing a lot of reviews about the food and I'm definitely coming back to try those!

$4 for a latte???? In this economy???? Wow just wow. Amazing prices and actually good latte comparable to other places that charge $6-$9! It's a small place but even the pastries were cheap as well (and still need to try) and its prices you'll never see anywhere else. Anyways... I came here with my coworkers and I have tried their tiramisu ice latte and the Spanish coffee so far. Next time I would love to try their Hainan chicken. 10/10 would be back!

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing some food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is behind the building. It's a super small lot. Just park on the street and walk over. It's much more convenient. Food: I ordered several Hainan chicken to bring to my coworkers. One of them wasn't feeling great, so she ended up giving me her Hainan chicken. The owner was really sweet and he gave me some chocolate chip and blueberry muffins to give to my coworkers too. I did not have any of the muffins, so I cannot comment on the taste and texture. However, they did look very moist and tasty. Anyways, back to the Hainan chicken. The portions are huge for $10. They were generous with the chicken. The chicken was very tender, soft, and tasty. The rice was very warm and jasmine -y. I love that they gave lots of scallion sauce to pour over the Hainan chicken. My only complaint is that I wished they put the sauces in a small baggie or something because two out of the six sauces leaked. I put the food in my passenger seat and the sauces leaked through the bag and onto my car seats. My car now smells like the scallion sauce. Oh well. The food was divine. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, helpful, and generous. They accept credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Great food at very competitive prices. The pesto sandwich is a must-try! It's a small operation with quick service, but because seating is so limited, it's best suited for takeout. Tip: If you go near closing time, you might snag a free leftover pastry with your order!

Came here early on a Tuesday morning to grab coffee for my coworker and me. I've been hearing great things about Yi Cafe for a while--seeing videos on social media and hearing a friend who lives nearby rave about it--so I was excited to finally try it. Parking was easy to find. I would suggest parking on the street or side of the street. I ordered the tiramisu coffee, expecting it to be very sweet, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious and truly tasted like dessert in a cup, with just the right amount of sweetness--not overpowering at all. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and even mentioned that I ordered the right drink since the tiramisu is their most popular item on the menu. He was absolutely right. I'll definitely be back to try more drinks!

I saw this cafe on Instagram advertising their very affordable prices. When I came, it was exactly as advertised, simple, cheap, and delicious food. They had a $9.99 Hainan chicken special, so I had to try it. Here's what I ordered: Hainan Chicken - For the price, I really enjoyed this. It was tasty and had everything you'd want in Hainan chicken. (4.5/5) Breakfast Sandwich - This was around $5 and pretty cheap. It was decent, nothing special, and I probably wouldn't get it again. (3.5/5) Chicken Panini Sandwich - How is this only $6?! It's freshly made and so delicious. Yes, it's simple, but that's all you need. Tasty! (5/5) Dalgona Whipped Coffee - Tasty and not too sweet. We loved it! (4.5/5) We also got two free breads since we spent $20 for two people, which was a nice bonus. Overall, if you need a quick bite in Arcadia, this is a must-checkout. The owner is super friendly, and the food is delicious and simple. It took us about 15 minutes to get our food because it was crowded. They only have one table inside and one outside, so it's better as a takeout spot. Parking: Street parking out front and on the side streets.

Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restroom: No restrooms. Promotion: Even though their yelp page says that the free pastry promotion has expired, they still honor it. So spend $10 and get a free pastry! Their pastries are baked in-house. Location/Parking: Yi's Cafe replaced Poppy Cake Baking Company. Major cross streets are Wigwam and E. Foothill Blvd.. Parking can be up front or on Wigwam. Ambiance/Decor: Small little shop with minimal bar table seats. There's also a bigger table up front to enjoy your cup of coffee and food. This shop is probably designed for take out. Service: Service was good. Staffer behind the register was friendly, attentive, and quite informational about the shop. Food didn't take long to come out. Food Of Choice: 1) Breakfast Sandwich ($4.99): Sandwich consists of egg, bacon, cheese, and thousand island sauce on brioche bun. Thought it was very good, but i'll ask them to put the thousand island sauce on the side. The price is economical. 2) Banana Bread: Liked the banana bread, but was cold. I'll ask them if they can warm it up next time. 3) Hainan Chicken ($9.99): Consists of poached chicken thigh on top of rice with cucumbers. Comes with homemade ginger scallion sauce & homemade mild spicy mayo. Thought the it was okay. The chicken was a bit bland and the rice needed more chicken flavor. The ginger scallion sauce was good. They charge extra for extra sauce. I wasn't provided the spicy mayo sauce, but that's alright. Probably ran out or forgot to include it. 4) HK Lemon Tea ($2.50): It was decent. Asked them to put less sugar. It was to my liking. Yi Cafe For Thought: With these prices and good food, i'll definitely come back. I'll also try their drinks. Economical indeed!

So glad my commute took me out of the way so I could try this gem! At 7am, this tiny storefront was already warm and welcoming. The owner was super friendly and recommended the tiramisu latte which for $4 was a STEAL. I also ordered the chicken rice and he threw in a blueberry muffin on the house. The latte was so creamy without being cloyingly sweet and the chicken rice was warm and comforting. Despite eating it hours later, the blueberry muffin was perfectly moist and not too sweet. The owner greeted regulars like friends and even remembered their orders, I hope to be one of those people someday!
