If you've never been to the Doral Yard, it's a casual food hall concept with a couple of different restaurants and lots of open seating, both indoors and outdoors. YIP is located on the inside of the Doral Yard. I went for lunch with a friend and they were offering lunch specials with different combo options. I opted for the Chicken Combo #1, with the Honey Chicken and Fried Rice. The chicken was extra crunchy and flavorful, and the fried rice was fresh to order. The combo came with a side of sweet chili sauce, which I liked cause I'm all about the sauces. The lunch portion was huge, which meant I had enough to finish for dinner later (always a perk). Customer service was good. The cashier checked me out quickly and was responsive when I requested a to-go box afterwards. If you are looking for dim sum, I would not recommend coming to this location because the menu is quite limited and VERY overpriced compared to stand alone dim sum restaurants I have been to. We only ordered two items: Shanghai Pork Soup Dumplings and Cha Siu Bao (BBQ Pork Buns). There are only four soup dumplings and two of the buns in each order. Each of these dishes were $8.90 each. They tasted fine, but definitely not worth the price. The buns were also small compared to traditional buns. read more

Overall, it was fine, nothing really blew us away. Glad that there is an Asian dumpling option there, those cravings will sneak up on you! This time we decided to eat from Yip and honestly the food was pretty delicious. The crispy Chicken was really good and the fried rice was too. The portion of the fried rice, as you can see, was generous. All of this food for about 40 dollars (excluding drinks) for two people to dine was a pretty good deal for me, especially considering the price tag of all the other surrounding restaurants. It did not get the five stars because everything else in the menu seemed overpriced and the fries were pretty dry. Tried a variety platter and a strawberry boba w/oat milk for a Yelp event. When I arrived, I was acknowledged but had nothing explained to me (I.e. the menu). I ordered what was included in the Yelp experience and sat down in the Doral Yard indoor area until the buzzer went off that my food was ready. I came today to celebrate my birthday with some friends and my son. The decor inside the yard where three food locations are located is in short just gorgeous. My son and I ordered from Yip. The service was friendly and prompt. We ordered the Pao duck and also the crab one, and a bowl of duck noodles. The duck noodles were pretty average and definitely needed all the sachets of sauces that they provided which are needed to make the flavours pop. The Pao buns were great, with the crab being the star of the show. I was surprised at how delicate, crisp and delightful they were with a zing of hot spice from the sauce. Dumplings here are everything! I am dumpling obsessed and luckily live walking distance from downtown doral so can always quench my craving. You order at their booth and they give you a buzzer for you to pick it up once it's ready. Now the quality of food is 5/5 the soup dumplings I could eat daily... I wish! So grateful that we have them in our neighborhood in Downtown Doral! The food is fantastic and they've added some great new items to the menu since they first opened. My personal favorite are the soup dumplings, but all of the dumplings and bao buns are excellent. Their team is very welcoming and super helpful. Problems are rare, but when they arise, the team has been quick to correct and make things right. The service has improved greatly over time and the customer experience is very efficient and smooth. Yip is located inside of The Doral Yard, a local entertainment destination with a food hall, live music, and many local events. The space is beautiful and a perfect place to enjoy Yip's delicious menu. It tends to be a more relaxed vibe on the weekdays, and quite lively and fun on the weekends. TL;DR - Our food did not come out at the right temperature, it took over 45 minutes to receive our food, and the cook/execution on half of the items was poor. No authenticity. This place just has to do better. Gold Marquess--the parent company behind Yip--has solid dim sum, so I don't understand how this place could get it so wrong. The xiaolongbao had little, if any actual soup in it. The center of the eggrolls were still very cold, which was strange because the eggrolls were also super greasy. The honey shrimp had some pieces that were a little rubbery. The Peking duck skin was soggy in the bao we ordered. The only passable items were the har gow, fried wontons and the soft-shelled crab bao. Were those passible items actually any good? No. But the bar had already been set so low with all of the other mishaps. I understand that having to execute these items out of a food stall can be a challenge, but this experience was especially upsetting. Not only did we wait a considerable amount of time, but when we finally got our food it LOOKED like it would be delicious, and regrettably most of it tasted like grease and freezer burn. I really like boba and try new places often but I also stick to the places that I know I like. Unfortunately I really did not like this one. Shady charges on my credit card. Ordered 2 items, a side and a plate. Then was partially refunded because they were out of the item for my plate But the remaining charge on my card did not match the receipt that the gentleman at the register "claimed he couldn't print, but could only show me." My item was $6.53 and my credit card was charged $12.83. Basically I couldn't even get the amount refunded I was owed, I had to hand my food back after waiting for it and receiving it. How many people do they do this too who don't look at their receipts? UPDATE: It is now 4 1/2 days later and I still have not received a refund for the food that DANIEL asked me to return in order to get my refund.
