Such a wonderful, authentic spot in the city for Korean food! I came one evening with a friend and we had a great time. It's a casual spot with a great menu. Our orders were taken pretty quickly. My friend ordered the bibimbap. She loved how fresh and delicious it was. I got the spicy beef soup (per my Korean friend's recommendation). It was divine! I'm not sure if they downed the spicy level, but it's definitely a tolerable spice. I especially loved the noodles in it. I was really happy with the banchan they brought. The kimchi was my favorite. They had a lot of seating available. It's located in a strip mall so there was a lot of free parking available out front. This spot is great for take out or dine in. We went on a Friday evening and it wasn't too busy. They seemed to offer Korean BBQ options too. I'm excited to return and try more soon.

Beef Rib Eye (Bulgogi) and sides

I can't believe this was my first time here!!! Probably best for my wallet lol cause the meal we had was delicious! It was a lovely quiet Sunday so we were sat and waited on immediately. Lots of takeout orders, which is wonderful to see for such a great restaurant. The inside is clean and spacious with good sized tables for the sharing that is about to occur. Where we messed up. I think the items are family style. We ended up each ordering Bulgogi, and it was a lot of food. I had just ran a half marathon so I scarfed it all down no problem, but I will say the portion is enough for two to share. I also loved that you could get refills on the sides (except rice). I was afraid that the portions set was all we got, but was happy when we got more of the yummy veggies! The bulgogi was so flavorful!! Nothing extra needed. Went perfectly with the tangy veggies. We also tried the Tteok-Bokki which I've seen all over the internet but have never had the opportunity to try. We did the classic and added cheese. It was pretty good. Not my personal type of flavor but I can see others loving it! I did love those thick rice cakes. I'd love to try those in another sauce cause the mouth feel was good. Great texture. All in all, I for sure will be back. This is dangerous new knowledge knowing yummy quality foods are less than 10min from the house!

Pork Belly

Outstanding Korean food. Reminds me of my favorite spot in Brooklyn. The pork belly was a bit bland and left something to be desired but the short ribs and bulgogi are an absolute must. Bursting with flavor.

Yewon has some very delicious Korean Fried Barbecue Wings! The sauce is so pleasing with a great blend of sweet and spicy. I always order spicy. Typically I call ahead to place my order and it's ready within 20 minutes. It's a little drive from me but well worth it. I have frequented this place quite a bit lately and have been only disappointed by the rice. I love rice and the texture was crunchy. It appeared very overcooked. I couldn't even eat rice leftovers the next day because of the texture. Everything was so tough/hard. Hopefully that improves. Im giving it 3 stars because despite the wings being delicious, they gotta clean up in the actual restaurant. The restaurant is small and quaint located in a shopping center. Im not a fan of the messiness next to the cash register when you checkout. You can see tennis shoes, and a bunch of other items stored up front. This is not very pleasant to the eye and likely not sanitary. The food is good so I try to trick my mind to visualize something different. It's easy to access and free parking is available. It is centered right next door to another restaurant. I really only go for the wings!

Soft Tofu Soup

Favorite korean restuarant in richmond! Got this place recommended to me from a korean friend who lives in midlo and he said, after his own family's cooking, this place would be next up. I was super happy with my meals here. The tofu soup had so much flavor. From the chewy noodles of the japchae to the crispy rice of the bibimbap, i was in heaven. The side banchan dishes were the perfect compliments. This will definitely be my go to place and somewhere I will keep coming back to.

Refrigerated cases have lots of fresh banchan to choose from.

Ye Won is my favorite Korean restaurant in the greater Richmond area. The food is delicious, the staff is lovely, and the variety is excellent. There is a huge selection of banchan to choose from, which is probably my favorite part of Korean food: all the lovely side dishes. I like to stock up from their refrigerated case, but there is always an assortment included with our takeaway dishes too. Their tteokbokki is excellent. The rice cakes are perfect--tender yet chewy, and the sauce is spicy and flavorful with bits of veg to accent it. We order with the fish cakes on the side because we dine with vegetarians, and they are always so accommodating. I generally only order bibimbap when dining in because I love the way the rice crisps at the table, but when we had Ye Won's takeaway bibimbap, it was exceptional. The restaurant really has a way with packaging to-go orders to keep them perfect for the trip. I have always enjoyed everything that I've had from Ye Won, and I have my favorites that I keep coming back to: the spicy rice cakes, seafood pancakes, and kimchi pancakes are some of my favorites. It's definitely somewhere where I will ultimately try everything they offer. It's always so good.

I'm happy I found an authentic Korean restaurant in the area! It's a mom and pop place with indoor seating and a selection of packaged items to take home. I've had soft tofu soup at some major cities and I found Ye Won's to be on par. The spice level was just enough for me and I don't have a high tolerance. The fried dumplings were fried so perfectly and the meat was juicy. I went on a Sunday afternoon. It was quiet enough that I could take my time, which allowed me to slowly eat the boiling soup and avoid burning my mouth. The owners were friendly and never rushed me.

Banchans. On the hot plate: Beef Rib Eye (Bulgogi). In the back: Jokbal, served with cabbage, fresh sliced garlic and green peppers.
Kay L.

It's a smaller restaurant. But in that little corner place you can find great comfort food. The food comes out fresh, flavorful and nicely presented. Not to mention just the way I like it: piping hot! Service is "mom" and "pop" , he got all my orders right. Which is impressive since I placed a really large order. All the foods came out perfect!

Kimchi (Large)pork dumplings with vegetables and udon noodles
Brandon E.

For the best Korean cuisine this is the place, friendly greetings as you walk to your table. A great menu selection along with the chef specialties will guide you well. The presentation and table service was quite impressive as burners for our dishes on the table kept it hot and enchanted the flavors. I can't wait to get back to YE WON if you go YOU WON!!!!!

This is the "extra sauce" but that's the normal amount they put in there when u don't ask for extra!!!

The meat (we got the pork belly and the beef short ribs) was so dry we didn't really eat much of it. Not worth the price.

Is this place all you can eat bbq and are they open for inside dining?

I haven't seen all-you-can-eat advertised here but they are open for inside seating.

Do they have glass noodles here?

Yes, They have Japchae on the menu. Theirs is great! It normally is prepared with beef but I've even ordered it veggie only and it was still good.

What vegan dishes have you tried at this restaurant and loved? Thanks!

I haven't personally ordered vegan, however thier kimchi is great so the kimchi stirfry with tofu may be perfect for you. Good luck

This place is consistent and clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is dangerously good. As many have said, you have to know what you're doing in order to make the most of this experience, and it IS an experience. You'll choose a soup base (all of them are good) which the waiters will bring and heat on your table. Then you'll hit the buffet and grab anything you want to add to your soup (they have all sorts of noodles, veggies, seafood and more). You'll also grab any meats you want to cook on your table's little grill. What I especially love is that the KBBQ and hot pot are all one flat rate, you don't have to order anything but your soup base and any drinks. I recommend getting a big plate for all of your soup add ons, and a small plate for your raw meats. They'll give you tongs to cook the meat and a giant pair of scissors to cut everything (wait to cut the meat until it's cooked). Apologies for the novel above, but maybe it will help someone. Yes it can be overwhelming if you're not used to the cuisine, but it is WORTH trying that something new. Qpot also has a full Chinese buffet, great for kids who are scared of the grill and the soup. We are truly in love with this restaurant. Thanks for always showing us a good time!

The decor was what you'd expect, with torn seats and unsteady tables, and the aromas from the seafood counter did nothing to help. Then food arrived; my bibimbap came with hot stone bowl (which cost extra) and it was needed since the food was room temperature. After much stirring, it finally warmed up a bit. The egg was fried 'over hard' - not a nice runny yolk that should ooze and coat the rice. Also there was no seasoning, fortunately a side dish of gochujang was provided. Wife had ma pa tofu which was...different - in a Korean/Chinese fusion. Not traditional, but tasted better than mine. All-in all, not worth while.

They even have vegan kimchi and were so nice to bring out vegan gochujang because the one they have on the table is not vegan. We got the dolsat bibimbap and I always say the stone bowl is absolutely worth the extra money. The best part is always the crispy rice. Tteokbokki Having a vegan option without seafood was a great find. Most of the time the sauces have shellfish in them and I don't have the patience to make it from scratch. The noodles were cooked perfectly and they give you two vegetable dumplings on top. The sauce was nice and spicy without being too overwhelming. Kimchi pancakes: wish they had a bit more kimchi in them than the batter, but still good. Japchae with tofu, nice and almost beefy tasting. The black pepper was a nice punch. Korean fried tofu so nice and crispy with a really good sauce. I have been missing KFC since I turned vegan and good to know they have a good substitute for it. Service A good sized family run place where you can sit down or get take out. You order at the counter and they have a screen or you can be like us and take their paper menu to a table. A few four sized tables and some smaller two seaters. There was plenty of take out and delivery while we were seated. The person at the front was super helpful and patient as we tried to figure out what to order. They seemed busy and did not stop for too long the entire time. They came to bring us things and check in on us. Please use reusable cups for dining in and not styrofoam cups though! They have reusable utensils which is nice. Ambiance It's a fast casual place, but in a little strip mall in the county. They have K-pop playing and a stream of music videos so I didn't mind.
