Wow! I was almost disappointed with Richmond's hot pot scene (coming from DC/MD) until I experienced this place. First off the interior is bright, fun, yet beautiful! The gold pots and silverware gave it a slightly upscale feel. I liked being able to get the raw foods yourself instead of waiting on it to be brought.. i was able to use the kbbq meats in my hot pot (like thick pieces of salmon, chunks of chicken and beef instead of thin slices. The sauce bar was VERY clean and had great options.. even had old bay seasoning! Only downside was service. I was seated next to a table of 2 and in front of another solo diner (i was solo too), but i noticed these tables were checked on regularly by my same waitress who repeatedly skipped my table- i only was assisted when i flagged her down.. as she made her rounds to the tables around me. There was only one obvious difference- i'll let u see my profile pic to guess. Ill try another day but if this is a theme, i will gladly stop patronizing.. shame. read more

We've been here so many times and will come back so many more. Haven't tried any other Korean BBQ nor hot pot elsewhere in Richmond and we honestly don't feel a need. This place is consistent and clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is dangerously good. As many have said, you have to know what you're doing in order to make the most of this experience, and it IS an experience. You'll choose a soup base (all of them are good) which the waiters will bring and heat on your table. Then you'll hit the buffet and grab anything you want to add to your soup (they have all sorts of noodles, veggies, seafood and more). You'll also grab any meats you want to cook on your table's little grill. What I especially love is that the KBBQ and hot pot are all one flat rate, you don't have to order anything but your soup base and any drinks. I recommend getting a big plate for all of your soup add ons, and a small plate for your raw meats. They'll give you tongs to cook the meat and a giant pair of scissors to cut everything (wait to cut the meat until it's cooked). Apologies for the novel above, but maybe it will help someone. Yes it can be overwhelming if you're not used to the cuisine, but it is WORTH trying that something new. Qpot also has a full Chinese buffet, great for kids who are scared of the grill and the soup. The selection besides that is not too bad either. They have different assortment of shrimp, seafood, meat, and noodles. The broths, though, are just okay. They don't have much depth to them. When you walk in it's so colorful and the decore is very trendy! Very clean and modern. The service was spot on, plus the price was good. Most other Koren BBQ Buffet places I've been where priced higher. I was so excited to start the experience The back wall had so many choices to pick from just for the soup experience , and sauces as well. The Island stands have the raw meat you can chose from for grilling. Plus cooked side dishes, fruits, vegetables, noodles, spring rolls, french fries...etc... This was a pretty bad hot pot/bbq/buffet experience. Crazy to me how they have such high reviews online. 1) we both ordered the tom yom, and the lime inside of it was making it really bitter. We should've taken it out of the broth earlier (our mistake), but when we asked to have it replaced with new broth, they said they "weren't allowed to". So we were left with bitter soup the whole time. 2) we were told to grill on the parchment paper since it helps staff "clean them easier", then the paper burnt and the charred bits got onto the meat and making the meat inedible. 3) we got there around prime dinner time, hours before closing. I perused the hot bar around 7 times the entire time and not once did any of the hot items get replaced or refilled. Felt like I didn't get any of my money's worth from the buffet stuff. The other kbbq/hot pot stuff followed a similar pattern in not being refilled often. 4) we were sitting under an air vent that kept dripping condensation on us the entire time Aside from these complaints, the selection is pretty limited compared to hot pot 757, and the quality definitely was on the lower side given how everything has been sitting there for some time. I usually never write reviews but this was too blatant to just ignore. I hope for their sake that we came at a bad time. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I came here during a weekday dinner and got the ayce for $34 pp. They give you one hot broth of choice, a variety of meats, veggies, and sauce fixing to choose from. The KBBQ also had a good selection of beef, pork, and some other meats. My favorite for the bbq were the garlic pork and spicy pork but they did they a long time to cook and get crispy. The ribeye and short rib were pretty good as well. I was able to try both the tomyum and miso soup. The Tom yum was very savory and sour and my preferred soup for the hotpot. It was very hot temperature wise which cooled the toppings and meat fast but was hard to sip on as I burnt my mouth a tad(but worth it). Overall it's easily the best KBBQ in the Richmond area! Oh how I love a good HotPot session! A group of us came in to celebrate our February birthdays and I'm so glad we did! All the food was fresh, and customer service was immaculate! I love how they explained everything in detail about how to order and cook everything it's always so fun cooking your own meals with a group of friends with delicious food. All of the food is self serve (besides the hot pot soup base), which I really like since you can control your own portion sizes and try a bit of everything. It can be overwhelming with so many food options so I'd recommend going with ample time to enjoy it. The table was kind of small when you're trying to manage the grill, pot, and various plates. Next time I'd probably focus on one thing at a time. For adults, lunch (M-F til 3:30pm) is $23 and dinner/weekends/holidays is $34. They do have a buffet only option during weekday lunch. read more

This is my first time writing a review and it's sad to say it's not a good one. This is my first time experiencing a poor kbbq environment and service. I had high hopes picking this place to eat due to the high reviews but it didn't lead to be a 4.0+ spot to eat. Our server only came to our table 2 times the beginning to greet and the end for when we asked for our check. I didn't get a refill during the whole meal and my significant other asked for a water in the beginning as well and never received it until the very end. As for the food it was unique to grab everything yourself but overall the meats and flavors were okay, they were bland and for the ones that seemed well seasoned weren't. As for the grilling situation I had never been to a KBBQ where they place a paper on the grill and you had to cook it. Multiple pieces of our foods had the paper placed all over it and we had to keep taking it off as we kept cooking. I decided to do both hot pot and kbbq and for the hot pot it was okay as well the only issue I had is I had grabbed some garlic and happened to grab one with mold on it. As for the environment we had sat next to a vent and I hadn't realized it was leaking from the condensation, but I didn't notice it until after I slipped a few times. Only then I looked up and noticed the condensation on the vent. Lastly, after not having the best time to top it off there was a roach near our table. This place was awesome. I am no stranger to hotpot but this was my first time at Qpot and it is now my go to for hotpot. The buffet style eliminates waiting on a waiter to bring you your next course and there are plenty of offerings. Jay was taking care of us and was very prompt with drinks and refills. As a newbie to the hot pot scene, I had a somewhat disappointing experience at Qpot. The server didn't ask if we had ever dined there before, if we had any questions, and did not provide any guidance. I thought, ok maybe that's just the way it's done here. My daughter ordered lemonade and I asked for water. We went off to the buffet while waiting for our soup base to arrive. We returned to our table where my daughter's lemonade was served and I received a mug of hot water! We tried cooking some proteins on the hot plate, thought maybe ours was broken. I got up to fetch the hostess to show me how to operate the hot plate (because my server was nowhere to be found). After what seemed like an eternity, our soup bases arrived and I asked the server to please bring me a cup of cold water. In the interim, another family was seated next to us and I listened in amazement as another server greeted the family and gave them a complete overview. So apparently, we just had a lackluster server. Overall, the experience wasn't great. The bad service would likely have been less of an issue if we'd known what we were doing - this is a buffet after all. We will actually return and hopefully get a better server next time. We were able to glean some tips from listening in on the other table's server, but a little too late to take full advantage of our time there. read more

I am personally a seafood lover, so having the opportunity to make a pot with crab legs, scallop, shrimp, mussels, and a side of salmon was right up my alley. They have meats for grilling, as well as ramen, eggs, etc. to add to your pots. They also have a buffet of hot foods such as orange chicken, wings, green beans and rice. QPot has a variety of broths to choose from. I don't like extremely spicy food, so I went with the herb broth so that I could adjust the heat to my desired taste. The service at Qpot is amazing! They give explicit directions on how to utilize the pots and grills. They also assist as needed and give recommendations at your request. The quality of meat is better , i like that its self serve so you dont have to wait for your server, and the hotbar is nice too (the green beans are super good and they have crab rangoon!!) The only thing I'd ask is better labeling for their sauces, some are pretty confusing , like the sesame oil doesnt look like sesame oil... some are mislabeled. Also labeling for the frozen section where all the veggies are. But overall. I think its a pretty solid KBQQ spot 8/10 read more

For our hot pot we chose the Tom yum and the spicy soup. Both were okay but with it simmering our whole stay, the herbs and spices started to change the flavor into something bitter and not as tasty. Loved the sauce bar and if you don't know what you're doing they have recommendations on what to mix. In addition to the bbq/hot pot they also have a sides bar and a hot bar with prepared foods. You pick the meats and veggies that you want and you cook them on the heated cast iron grill plate at your table. Thay's the bbq. It cooks fast too! I learned the hard way haha. The beef short ribs were so tasty! For the hotpot you pick your soup base flavor and choose the meats and veggies or ramen noodles and other things you want to toss in the pot. We had the pork bone broth and the spicy broth. Both were really good! You get whatever sides and sauces that you like and in our case was the white rice, kimchi and egg rolls and it was a real bon appetite situation after that haha!
