First time trying Wok n Roll and the reviews were true. The pork dumplings were actually made with real pork and not that imitation stuff. The casher took the time out to explain items on the menu. The dinning area was filled with beautiful plants with made for a beautiful view.

Was running errands and had a craving for Chinese, figured I'd give it a go since I was in the same plaza. The woman working the counter greeted me very warmly and let me look at a menu without hovering. I had seen another customer eating when I walked in, it looked good, so I ordered a Hunan Chicken lunch combo with white rice and an egg roll. Wow y'al!! The dish was so flavorful, perfectly spicy, the veggies were fresh and crisp, it was just delicious. Good size portion and great price, too! I left full and very happy - looking forward to trying more dishes from here. Edit to add it was very clean inside and I enjoyed looking at their amazing plants while I was eating.

Pork egg roll, hunan chicken & shrimp, and veggie fried rice.

Delicious and a great price for the amount of food!! Egg rolls are amazing, couldn't even wait to take a pic before eating. Their sweet and sour chicken is my normal go-to, but this hunan chicken & shrimp was awesome!

I really don't understand why this place doesn't have better reviews. First of all they are one of the few places in the area to offer combination dinners. The combo's not only come with fried rice, good fried rice at that, you also get choice of soup AND an egg roll. Their wonton is pretty standard but they have the absolute best egg rolls around. Always crispy and a decent size too. I haven't had a bad meal from them. Love this place! The only thing I wish is that they'd have homemade duck sauce for those delicious egg rolls. The packets aren't worthy of such deliciousness!

So. I've eaten a lot of Chinese take out in Richmond and I must say, Wok n Roll doesn't disappoint! I can't speak on anything but the food because I obviously get take out. I always opt for either the Shrimp Mei Fun or Shrimp and Broccoli and both dishes are always hot, fresh and tasty. I was actually surprised that the food was so good because every time I venture outside of my normal hood Chinese spots (everyone knows the hood has the best food), I get bland food. You know, the kind where you have to ask for a million soy sauces just because you KNOW you're going to have to doctor it up to your liking? Well--not Wok n Roll. The food was flavorful, and I didn't have to add anything to it. It wasn't too greasy which is an actual miracle. I always have at least one meal here each time I visit Richmond, because takeout is so necessary whenever I find a new show to binge watch on Netflix. Thumbs up!

    A lot of deliciousness lol $ 9.89

I decided to drive to this old school tasting Chinese spot that I love. I had taste for Shrimp Egg Foo Young again. It was deeeeelicious. The patty was cooked well, but not dry. The size of the three parties again was pretty large. The gravy seasoned to perfection. You don't need soy sauce because the flavor is "perfect".

Four seasons. Brown sauce needs a little more flavor missing something

The shrimp were pre-steamed and too firm. The shrimp egg rolls had only one shrimp and a small amount of cabbage.

I got these for the road: Dry-Fried Eggplant Crispy with a touch of savory spice plus cilantro, really good. Grandma Noodles Wavy noodles in a savory brown sauce with dried pepper and cilantro. Spicy but good spicy. Much better than the last time I had them, they hadn't congealed yet. When I mixed everything together it was great. Pork in Spicy Garlic Sauce Oh yeah. Even with just one spice pepper, this rocks. This is what I remember enjoying from years back. Tender shredded pork in a spicy sauce with garlic and multiple kinds of peppers. Would definitely go back if in the area. Parking was easy in the strip mall next to Walmart. Ordering online was easy and pickup was friendly and quick.

It had too much soy sauce and you couldn't taste anything else. The white rice was dry and undercooked. I feel like this is an utter travesty. I was at least expecting good rice. The golden mountain had great flavor but I think it was a mistake to eat it at home. It was mushy by the time we ate it. You can taste the spite in general Tso's chicken. It's like they don't want you to order it. The flavor is just sweet without any complexity. I've had better flavored general Tso sauce from grocery store brands. It was also mushy by the time we ate it. I would never order this again from them.

The interesting thing about placing the order is that you also pay when the order is placed, then they bring the food out when it's made. They were helpful in explaining to me how to modify a dish and they also gave great recommendations, as well as kept up with my liking of the food and experience while I was there. I ordered their red oil wontons and their cumin lamb noodles, but I subbed the lamb for beef. This came out before the wontons and it looked and smelled great! The beef was very tender, so were the amazing noodles! The spices were so tasty and offered a decent kick, but not too hot. I love stir-fried onions in dishes like this and these were so good that I tried to enjoy one piece with each bite of noodle and beef. The red oil wontons were incredible! The flavor of the oil was perfect! Exactly what it should be and it offered a very nice kick of heat too! This was one of the best wontons I've had in a long time! I'd definitely like to go back and try their soup dumplings. Overall this was a great experience into non-American Chinese food, one that everyone who enjoys American Chinese food should try!

In the order instructions, I asked for the Chinese mustard and duck sauce for the eggrolls, and that was not included in the order. The wonton soup was greasy. The hot spicy pork ribs were tasty and tender. I would only wonder why it has to have so much of the seasoning spices on them to bury it. We were disappointed with the brisket dish. It was plentiful but the seasonings were not our favorite. Also got the fried rice this time where we usually get the white rice. Not a fan of their fried rice. The biggest difficulty I had with the order was that the delivery service which used DoorDash took over an hour to get to us after the order was picked up for delivery. As I'm watching the delivery online in the app, which is a nice service in DoorDash, it did not look like he was coming to us first, and probably dropped two or three orders before us. And then it didn't look like he knew where he was going. Later in the app, I saw that there was a comment that my address was a difficult one to find which I don't understand because it's an apartment in a very central place in town.

I'm surprised this restaurant has 4-stars. I used to go to Peking many many years ago before it…read morewas in the Short Pump area, and the last time I went to Peking was probably 7 or 8 years ago. It sure isn't the good food I remembered. I believe the original was on Grove where EAT Partner's Beijing on Grove is now located. I stopped in for a take-out order. I ordered Gen Tso's Chicken, hot and sour soup, fried rice, pork lo mein and a shrimp spring roll. The General Tso's chicken was awful. The chicken was a mushy clump of cubed, fried chicken. The chicken was no longer crisp (I've brought home or had delivered Gen Tso's and Orange Chicken in which the batter was still crisp, so no excuse for this when I was only about 3 miles from home). The chicken was swimming in a thick, overly sweet sauce that had WAY too much cornstarch. The fried rice *looked* like it would be good, but I have a feeling the dark color was mostly from dark/black soy sauce which mostly gives color to a dish. The rice was literally tasteless. I had to add some low-sodium soy to give it some flavor. The pork lo mein was equally as tasteless as the fried rice. The slices of roast pork were so dry that without dipping it into some sauce (which looked like extra oil on the bottom of the container), it got stuck in my throat. I make my own roast pork for making my own egg rolls and it's a ton more flavorful than this was. The shrimp roll has some shrimp in it, though I couldn't really taste it. Biting into the spring roll released a bunch of oil onto the wrapper. Not very appetizing. The ONLY decent thing in the order was the hot and sour soup. It had a good balance of heat, and vinegar. I think I tasted some bamboo shoots, and there may have been some mushrooms, but really good hot & sour (like I've had in Chinatown in NY, San Francisco and Washington D.C.) has tree ear mushrooms (also known as black fungus), dried lily flowers, and other ingredients that I didn't see or taste in this soup. But it was NOT too thick which was great as some restaurants use too much cornstarch. This was a lunch combo (Gen Tso, fried rice, hot and sour soup) and the lo mein and shrimp roll was separate. All in all, the total was just over $24 and definitely not worth it. I can't see going back to this restaurant again.
