Seating is limited, but I usually take mine to go anyway, eating it in the parking lot like a man who has zero regrets. Here's the thing though. O!nigiri used to have a spot in Carytown years ago, and when they closed, I took it harder than I'd like to admit. I'm glad Richmond has a solid option for onigiri now. They have so many kinds to choose from and they also have a fun variety of Asian bottled drinks. I appreciate their allergen list. We were asked if we'd like them warmed up in the microwave. The shop is quaint and a mom and pop. The owner is very friendly. I was visiting Lotte market and saw this place nearby. I believe i went to the original location years ago in Carytown and remember it was delicious. Excited to see it has come back and I think the location is perfect. I tried the salmon mayo and it was delicious. Super filling. I find onigiri tend to be on the dryer side, but the mayo made it nice and moist. I will be coming back next time I'm in the area! Went here for lunch one day cause I was DYING to try it ! I've heard great things about it & it's right next door to lotte market ?? Yes please ! I got a Spicy Tuna & Furakake Onigiri. I absolutely loved the Spicy Tuna. The furkake was a little dry, needed some sauce. They had the cutest gacha machines inside too ! Such a lovely little spot ! The staff are pretty friendly too. They have two small tables available inside. This charming onigiri shop is located right next to Lotte market. They have a display case with a huge selection of onigiri flavors as well as two spam options. I loved that they had a lot of vegan choices. I decided to get the karaage and salmon onigiri. My intern got the karaage and teriyaki spam. She seems to enjoy both of her choices. I was full after just one onigiri! They are filling. I had a lot of fun eating this because it reminded me of my times at FamilyMart. I wish I ordered the walnut miso based on other reviews. The menu offers a great selection, though the pricing feels slightly high for the value. We especially recommend the spicy tuna. It was my first time stopping by this cute onigiri shop in Richmond. The interior was very clean, well-organized, and charmingly decorated in a Japanese theme. It felt like I was in a shop in Akihabara, Japan. Moreover, their onigiris were larger than usual, and they offered a great variety of vegan options, which I prefer. On top of that, they tasted absolutely delicious! I am very picky when it comes to Japanese food since I was born and raised in Japan, so I was especially happy with the freshness and quality they offer. Delicious Onigiri restaurant located near Lotte Market. Upon entering you're greeted with a variety of Onigiri (Rice balls filled with a savory filling wrapped in seaweed) flavors. They also have some Japanese drinks available and a few indoor seating options if you'd like to enjoy your choices inside. The cashier was very kind and helpful, she offered to warm up my choices but I was planning on taking them to go to enjoy at home so she talked to me about how to warm them up in the microwave (20 seconds to warm up in the microwave). I ended up choosing the Walnut Miso, Baked Salmon and Karaage (fried chicken) Onigiri. They offer vegan options on top and non vegan options on the bottom rows. The walnut miso stole the show for me, it is one of their most popular flavors and I see why. It has a very sweet and savory flavor that really compliments the rice and seaweed. I also thoroughly enjoyed the salmon and karaage flavors. I was surprised at how hefty each piece was and each had a decent amount of filling in it. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try! Check out the walnut miso and maybe pick another flavor you're interested in, I can't see how you'd be disappointed! read more

I grew up eating onigiri and love to get onigiri at convenience stores when visiting Japan- this place is a GEM. Their onigiri allergens are listed by the register, so I was able to order things I could safely eat. The young lady working the register was very patient and answered all of my questions. Stopped by today and they had a good crowd this morning! I've been wanting to try this place and finally had some time. I tried spicy tuna and it was delicious!! Hand made onigiri crafted deliciously. Rice was perfectly cooked, seaweed crisp, tuna filling was just the right amount of spicy and generous filling. The size was a large onigiri and very filling. Lots of variety of flavors as well as great options for vegetarian and vegan friends. There is a mayo or spicy kayo dipping sauce you can get, along with variety of fun Japanese drinks and some mochi dessert. I'd like to try the veggie options next time. The shop is small and very cute atmosphere and decor. They offer water and little origami you can do. Family friendly and cute date spot as well.
