We had a reservation and showed up early. They were gracious and seated us quickly. The food was excellent. I really liked that this restaurant is smaller than some of the larger Hibachi places. Our chef was good and entertaining. I think he accurately gauged the audience and didn't do a lot of the showy stuff which was good since we wanted to catch up. A fun night. We will be back!

Good food. Service was good enjoyed all our food. Mistake we made was getting appetizers. They were good. But it was too much food for us. Lots of take home. What I would like if when you have leftovers they don't just give you s take out box. But pack it up for you. Ambiance is just fine. Typical Japanese steakhouse.

This is one of my go to sushi restaurants. I haven't eaten in, I'm probably years, but I trust them enough that when I found out they provide the sushi for my local Kroger, I was willing to say that too. Whenever I go in person to pick up, they're always super friendly and my food never takes too long to get to me either. Today I was feeling more fresh and cooked though, so I ordered the volcano roll, Philly roll, and Crab Rangoon. The volcano roll is one of my faves and I love going to different restaurants to see how they make it, since everyone makes theirs a little differently. Sakura was only the second style I've ever had and sometimes I absolutely crave this version of it. Really hit the spot!

Sakura is a good place to sit back and enjoy a sushi lunch in the west end. We were seated immediately and our server was quick and attentive and cordial. Also available at Sakura is hibachi dining. Even during the lunch hour there were multiple parties enjoying the usual, if slightly abbreviated, cooking entertainment that hibachi entails. Since we were not doing hibachi, I can speak only to the sushi side of the house. Lunch came with a choice between the usual sushi house salad with ginger dressing and miso soup. Most local places include both, rather than offering a choice of one. I paid the upcharge to get both. They were as expected -- fine and a welcome part of the dining experience but obviously not the star of the show. While the number of items on a sushi or sashimi lunch plate are on the low-average side (four in each case) each item is the real deal -- tuna, salmon, mackeral, and yellowtail. Many places will give you a fifth (or even sixth) piece of nigiri, but the additional pieces are inevitably scrambled egg and / or shrimp, which are in my mind the afterthoughts on a sushi plate. And the four cuts of fish you get at Sakura are generous and fresh. On the "plus" plates, you also get your choice of perhaps a dozen rolls. (There is a larger option, the "pro" plate, which gives you a second roll. That sounds like a lot of food!) I chose the Alaska roll, which is salmon and avacado. Very nice, and again they did not skimp on the fish. My dining partner chose a spicy salmon roll. It had a nice crunch, though not much spice (on the menu the spice was attributed to a spicy mayo, which was lost on me.) We also got an order of crab rangoon. It may have been a special, as I do not see it on the online menu. It was nice and creamy with a touch of bacon. My partner liked it a lot but thought it was not a sufficient quantity for an appetizer, even at $8. We left feeling good and satisfied. A nice tranquil lunchtime, done pretty well.

Definitely not Japanese Steakhouse hibachi...more like fast food chicken teriyaki. What a disappointing lunch. The hamachi jalapeño appetizer wasn't great...the fish was not that fresh. I get this at Yaya's and it's spectacular. For the Chicken hibachi, it was loaded with teriyaki and the food clearly didn't go near a hibachi grill and wasn't cooked to order. This was cooked in a batch and kept in a pan on a steam table like at a fast food place. Won't order again and won't go there to eat.

It's hard to argue with watching your food be prepared for you up close and personal, regardless of how simple or complex. The service and preparation was friendly, entertaining and quick. Most importantly the food filling!

I would like to give this restaurant a 2 star. Reason why... -Walked in and waited 5 mins until greeted -Waitress was very rude and did not even smile once. Also, rushing our order. -mango roll was not good at all and tasted sour. -tofu was very oily and soft -everything is overpriced -bathrooms were dirty

Vegan folks ordering to-go here. Person on the phone was so helpful in explaining a couple things. Food is consistently delicious. Have dined in as well and had excellent service - cozy inside.

Great service, big portions, a little pricey but worth it, kinda dark on the inside they could use more lighting.

I thought okay whatever I'll just wait in my car. 20 minutes later I get my order. So after 45 minutes of waiting I finally have my two very basic sushi rolls. I am allergic to avocado and made sure to write on my order TWICE that I wanted no avocado on my California roll. This may be a strange request but that's why I made sure to write it twice, in all caps. I get back to my house and realize they in fact did put avocado on my roll. I threw away the California roll (because I can't eat it) and looked over to the next. As soon as I was about to pick up a piece, I realize there is a hair in the sushi... I tried eating a few pieces but was honestly just really disgusted and annoyed. The few pieces I did eat fell apart as soon as I picked them up and were rolled improperly. 2 disgusting rolls for $20 after waiting for 45 minutes = 2 stars. And that is me being generous. Save your money. Go to Publix!!!

If you know, you know. And if you don't know yet, let me be the one to introduce you…read more O!nigiri is one of those places that feels like a little secret, tucked right next to Lotte Plaza Market, which is honestly the perfect location. I've made it my personal rule to stop here before I grocery shop, because walking into Lotte on an empty stomach is a financial decision I can no longer afford to make. I got the salmon, tuna, and sukiyaki, and every single one was exactly what a good onigiri should be: generously filled, perfectly textured rice that holds together just right without feeling like a compressed brick, and flavors that are clean and satisfying without trying too hard. It sounds simple because it is simple. That's the whole point, and that's exactly why it's so hard to do well. The owners are warm and genuinely friendly in a way that feels real, not rehearsed. The interior is small and charming, lined with anime figures and collectibles that give it this cozy, personal energy, like eating in someone's lovingly curated living room. Seating is limited, but I usually take mine to go anyway, eating it in the parking lot like a man who has zero regrets. Here's the thing though. O!nigiri used to have a spot in Carytown years ago, and when they closed, I took it harder than I'd like to admit. Something about losing a place that does something specific incredibly well hits different. So when I found out they were back, I felt genuinely victorious. Don't sleep on this place. It's a small, perfect thing in a city that deserves more of them.
