    HILLBILLY FRIES
    Whitney B.

Came here again this week after not coming for about 7 months, and I was a bit disappointed in the food. My friend and I ordered fried wingettes, smoked wingettes, the chicken club, and a fish sandwich. The fish sandwich and chicken club were great -- no complaints. The wings were terrible. Starting with the smoked wings, they were overcooked and I just ended up sending them back -- I didn't even want them anymore. They ended up bringing out another batch that was a little better, but a few of the wings were still overcooked. The fried wings weren't as good as I remembered. They were super greasy and the grease tasted a little old. On the other hand, the servers were great as always! Henny was super sweet and attentive.

Now this place is what I'm talking about - tasty food, friendly and quick service, and happy hour deals. We shared the meat trio platter (pork BBQ, brisket, and ribs), as well as the Mac and cheese, corn bread, and collard greens for sides. Every single thing is good. They also have happy hour deals on some appetizers and mixed drinks. They also serve draft beers, which isn't mentioned on their site so I wanted to mention it here. If you like the meats, don't pass this place up!

Pig & Brew is a wonderful spot to dine-in or order takeout at. They offer cool daily specials and great variety of BBQ style meals. From the times I've gone, I've loved the way they flavor their meats. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a lot of seating available indoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The last time I visited, it was a very rainy day, so it wasn't too busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was really kind and took the time to explain things on the menu for my father-in-law. I loved the kick my minced NC-style pork BBQ had. It really elevated the flavor. My fiance got the burnt end brisket sandwich with fries. I loved the fries and extra crunch they had. I'm excited to try more things on the menu on a different visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also really enjoyed the music here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to come back to try the drinks.

The food was amazing. 10 out of 10. I had shrimp, fish, and cheese grits and my husband had the barnyard. Amazing.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is really nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].. The service was impeccable. I saw so many reviews on TikTok and Instagram so I had to see what all the hype was about. I ordered 2 fish sandwiches, fries, 3 barbecue sandwiches and an order of macaroni and cheese. Well the macaroni and cheese was extremely dry and I wouldn't recommend it. The barbecue is a vinegar based and seasoned really well and served on a toasted bun. The serving size was good and the bun was toasted to perfection for me. The barbecue was seasoned really well and had a spicy finish to it. My sister said her fish was good but the fries were somewhat fried too hard for her. I was extremely disappointed with the macaroni and cheese. It was dry, I could not taste the cheese because it wasn't much in it, and the seasoning was ok. I don't think I'll visit this establishment again because it wasn't what I expected. I don't know if it was like this because it was on a holiday (4th of July) but I'm considering going back to give them another try.

What a nice location. It has a nice vibe, nice music and an amazing happy hour! The customer service was really warm and professional. The menu is straight forward (not a lot of options). Standard Bar-B-Que bar food but with flavor. I liked the fact you scan your phone for the menu. The prices are fair and the cocktails were tasty , not too strong but not too sweet. As for the food, I have mixed emotions. I ordered the "Fish" entree with 2 sides (Mac and cheese & coleslaw). I thought I was getting at least 2 pieces of fish with my 2 sides but only received one very dry fish sandwich instead. I am happy to say that the fish was fried to a crispy sensation. The mac and cheese was okay (little buttery for my liking). The coleslaw had an acidic taste instead of the classic creamy consistency. The show stopper for me was those SMOKED WINGS!! They were falling off the bone. Flavorfully good! The parking can be a little tricky depending on your time frame. The restaurant is seat yourself and they have a long bar seating area. Also there is 15 or 20% gratuity automatically applied to your bill. All in all, it was a nice vibe, nice drinks, nice pricing, nice staff! Definitely would come back again.

This place is probably better for brunch but I did not like the brisket. The wings were cooked really nice and crispy. They were probably the only thing I liked. I didn't like the beans either.

PORK SPARE RIBS / TWO SIDES (4 bones) COLLARD GREENS MAC & CHEESE

Was excited to check this place out based on reviews and videos. The location is easy to find with street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bright bar style restaurant with welcoming staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our bartender/waitress was Gigi and she was amazing. Very attentive and accommodating. The food however was disappointing. Maybe an off day. I ordered the pork ribs with two sides -Mac and cheese and the collard greens. The Mac and cheese was bland and not cheesy. Traded it for the baked beans that tasted nothing like baked beans. Almost tasted tomato based. The greens were tender. The ribs were tender however when I removed the meat I noticed the bone easily broke in half. Checked the next bone and it already appeared broken. When I pressed with my fork the bone crumbled broke completely down. I've never seen this with any ribs. Gigi was kind enough and helped me choose a replacement - shredded chicken sandwich. It was delicious. The sauce was tangy slightly smoky and the coleslaw was vinegar based so together it really complimented the chicken. Next were the wings with the omg sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly however the sauce had a weird taste to it. Hillbilly fries with the pulled chicken had a sweet taste which didn't go well with the cheese. We didn't have any drinks but the bartenders appear well experienced. We were visiting the area for the weekend and Gigi treated us as well as what appeared to be regulars.

To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. We probably won't be back, but if you've never been, it's worth trying at least once.

The parking lot is small, and there is a pothole in the alley near the parking lot entrance that will bottom out an SUV. Apparently, there is additional parking, but we didn't see it in the dark. The restaurant is cozy, Hawaiian-themed, and clean. We were seated within moments of entering the host's periphery, and received menus and ice water within minutes. I had the poke bowl last time, and I remember it being chilled and gently flavored. The avocado and spicy mayo did a lot of the heavy lifting. It was filling and very healthy. My partner enjoyed the Ipanema Sandwich last time we visited. This time around we snacked on the fried halloumi (fried cheese and mint yogurt dip) and Lumpia, taquito-type beef rolls, with sweet and sour dip. We absolutely demolished the coconut cream pie for dessert. The pie was so delicate and lovely that even my partner enjoyed it, a typical coconut detractor. I recommend Little Nickel to anyone looking to try something unique and ambitious that veers from the well-trodden culinary path.
