Pastrami sandwich with sweet potato fries

This is a dive-ish style sports bar that gives the vibe that they probably have a lot of regulars. It has an old school style thats perfect for sipping beer while watching a game. I got the pastrami sandwich with a side of sweet potatoes fries. Both were good and satisfying.

    He indulges me!! Lol

This is your average neighborhood bar and grille! We grabbed some apps (chicken tenders, tater tots) and a white claws & listened to some live music!! This is a pretty basic bar time hang out with typical "Amercian" fare. Located in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking and the service is acceptable. P.S. This is one of the most mundane reviews I've ever written! Lol!

The Gus' Bar & Grill of Laurel, Va. The perfect place to come for a music show, sporting event or dinner with that special someone. A very good menu and nice service. I highly recommend.

Food is okay. Staff is shady. Ambiance is dark. Could be a great place and the staff and bartenders mostly seem to start a lot of drama.

They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.

However, we ordered the steak sliders which were great. The fettuccine Alfredo was okay but could use more sauce. The chicken tenders wasn't anything exciting about those. The crab dip was not good... it tasted like cream cheese with no crab or ole bay as well as the bread. I was a bit taken back when we saw that there sides are à la carte. For this type of vibe, I would've never thought that. The feel and the vibe is not worth their menu to be à la carte especially if the vibe is a bar feel with no tv or rooftop view... but if u want to grab a sandwich and beer it's perfect.

For some reason the hostess thought "close to the door" was the same thing so, not only were we not outside, we delt with people coming in and out past us. Our server was friendly and helpful I thought it a little ridiculous that the menu tells you to look on the chalkboard for the daily pasta yet this location doesn't have one. They apparently use the same menu as another location that has a chalkboard but this one does not. So after searching for a chalkboard and unable to find one, our server told us when she came to take the order. The food was good but not great. My drink said it had basil in it but there was no even the taste of basil. The chicken in the pasta was full of grizzle and loaded with pepper. Not sure we will be back.

This is an American food restaurant and neighborhood bar so it's popular in the area. There's a Greek restaurant in the same shopping center that is one of my favorite lunchtime places for quality food at a good price, so I see Toast from time to time when I'm picking up takeout. We arrived around 2 p.m., so after the lunch rush. They do a good brunch on the weekends, but I wasn't in the mood for breakfast and brunch so I made sure they were serving the lunch menu. We ended up just sitting at the bar. They had golf on the tv so my husband could watch while we were chatting. For drinks we ordered a margarita and an old fashioned. They were as expected. For our meals, my husband ordered the crab and shrimp,p nachos, which surprised me. He's a salmon fan so I thought he'd go that route for his meal but he said he really enjoyed the nachos. I got the Thai salad with ahi tuna. My salad was just what I wanted...healthy and tasty. Toast is definitely a great restaurant and if I lived nearby, I'd be here on a regular basis.

We started with the cast iron goat cheese, and it was rich, layered in flavor, and paired with bread that was delicious on it's own. For my entrée, I chose the margherita pizza, and it was one of the best I've had. The sauce was perfect, and the crust had an ideal texture and flavor.
