I've been here quite a few times in the past and can only say their food is delicious. I loved being able to try items I hadn't tried before, such as the steamed shrimp and their jumbo wings. The drink options for happy hour were not the priority for me, but my father was visiting from New Orleans and was not impressed with the drink options for happy hour. Finally came to see if this place was worth all the hype after seeing it all over tiktok. We went on a Sunday and they had live music inside. The inside was a little too loud for our little one so we opted to sit outside on their patio. The service was great even though we were the only ones outside. I've heard mixed reviews on the service but no complaints here, staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good but not a good as the tiktokers make it seem. The consensus of the table was that we were not fans of the bread for the sandwiches but the meat on the cheese steak and pulled pork were excellent! Great portions and flavor. Absolutely adore this place. It's a homey place and feels so good to be there! Everyone is so welcoming and the food..... so worth the hype that it is given. The big Philly is my favorite here. I can't even have cheese like that but I risk it for this Philly cheesesteak. I've had a few in RVA but no other cheesesteak is as good as Hogshead. The meat is seasoned just right and the cooper American cheese really gives it that extra ump!!!!! My friends loved their Big Boner which is their epic hot dog... it was shared between 5 people! And one friend who ordered the Hogs burger felt like she was in heaven. And the lobster bisque was also good. BUT MY MOST FAVORITE was the catfish nuggets. I got the Philly ($17) and it took about an hour for it be made. I was told multiple times that it should be coming out soon but it didn't. I know it wasn't the server fault but they were definitely understaffed when I visited. The food itself was definitely overhyped from social media. Sure it was a good size but besides that, the flavor was just alright. The one side you get to pick with the sandwich was good. I felt this was a place to come to for great portion size not necessarily taste. We both traded one taco and I automatically preferred the Catfish Tacos more over the Nashville Chicken Tacos. We were down in Richmond to do some shopping and ended up grabbing a late lunch. It was a quick 5-6 min drive from Shortpump and very worth the drive. The restaurant was busy but not packed. We ended up sitting upstairs. Our waitress was amazing. She was friendly and had recommendations for us since it was our first visit. I've seen Hogs Head Cafe sign from broad street a million times in my life but never stopped. While down the Tik Toc rabbit hole, I saw the most delicious food posted. Since it was our first time there, we wanted to keep it simple and ordered our food to go. We had the limeades that are made fresh in house; 6 Garlic Parmesan Smoked Wings; Mac and cheese and Blackberry Cobbler. The food was so hot and fresh the bag was hot and steamy on the way home. The smell was Devine the whole car ride home. I was a little curious why 6 wings were 16 bucks and to my surprise when I opened the box, these are 6 WHOLE WINGS! Not your little wing dings. 6 whole fresh wings that were as big as the palm of my hand. The wings were so fresh, seasoned to perfection. My daughter's Mac and cheese was super creamy and full of cheddar. The blackberry cobbler made me go back the next day and pick up two so I wouldn't have to share with my daughter this time. The food here is delicious and tasty. I had the cheese steak pack with steak and cheese. My wife had the chicken cheese steak sandwich. She said it was very good and not dry. I also had the baby beans they were excellent. So good we came back again I got the same thing. The place is packed with people eating and drinking. I like the vibe here. Tuesday 2/18 3pm Had a taste for some wings and per a recommendation I decided to try Hogshead on Broad Street. Luckily for us they have happy hour starting at three and that included half off the wings, really good deal! They had half off of all the starters/appetizers. I ordered garlic parmesan wings and received BBQ. I sent those back for a correction. But took a picture anyway lol. My friend ordered flavor "sticky stinger" wings, those are the ones with the sprinkles. My garlic parmesan wings came I thought they would be a dry rub but it's wet. I don't eat spicy so that's why I chose this flavor. We also ordered plain tater tots. They were just that, plain tater tots. My garlic parmesan wings were good. I like that they were whole wings. I would eat there again. My friend said that the sticky stinger flavor wings were good and a little spicy, but that's what she wanted. She got a large strawberry limeade that she really liked a lot. There was a 50 minute wait in the middle of a Sunday so maybe be prepared to wait a bit. Note: This review, like all of my reviews, is objective, factual, and thoughtful. I went to this establishment on August 9th with my son for a pre-birthday lunch. We arrived at 3:11pm. We were told that the wait time for a seat was 45 minutes, though there were empty tables inside and out. When my son saw two seats at the bar, he asked if we could sit there, and it was afforded to us. We didn't get a menu until 26 minutes later, when we sat at the bar. The server apologized for the tardiness in giving us a menu, but online orders had a backlog. After sharing that state, it was another 20 minutes before the server took our order. Then it was another 35 minutes before our food arrived. We ordered a Shrimp Po' Boy with w/fries, Big Philly, and a small salad with w/ranch dressing. Our food was good, flavorful, and tasty. After we finished our meal, we waited 23 minutes for the server to give us our check. Once we received it, it took the server 30 minutes to pick up our check payment and another 20 minutes to return it. Did I say that we were sitting at the bar area? Yeah, some feet away from our server and half a bar side patiently awaiting food, drinks, and checks. We were at the restaurant for over three hours. The long wait and being ignored detracted from the food. There appeared to be enough wait staff for us not to wait so long. Because of this mistreatment, I am not sure I will return to this establishment, especially since the constant apologies were formal and lacked sincerity for the incident. read more

They really need a bigger place or a second location with the amount of business they had. So we got a few things. The best thing we got had to be the sweet potato fries with the maple dipping sauce. I had the chance to try the Philly cheesesteak, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The bread alone deserves special mention--soft, incredibly fresh, and with just the right texture. It truly elevated the entire experience. My boyfriend and I also shared the massive 60 oz margarita, which was just as enjoyable. It's clear this spot has recently gone viral, and while that speaks to the quality of the food, it also means they're currently under-staffed and struggling to keep up with the demand. We waited about 1.5 hours for our food, but in the end, it was well worth it. Next time, I plan to try the 1-pound Philly, mainly for that delicious sesame bread. I ordered the chicken Philly, and my boyfriend went with the classic beef. Both were excellent. However, one aspect of the experience left me disappointed. After spending several hours in the restaurant and finishing that large drink, we wrapped up our meal and left around 9 p.m., when they closed. We lingered in the area, and around 9:48 p.m., I found myself urgently needing to use the restroom--understandable, given the amount of liquid I'd consumed. Although I was fully aware the restaurant had closed, I hoped that, as a paying customer who had just spent nearly $100 and patiently waited for over an hour and a half for our food, they might make a small exception. I knocked on the door, clearly in distress, and could see the staff still inside chatting. Unfortunately, they refused to let me in, stating they were closed. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, it was disheartening to be denied a basic courtesy--especially given the circumstances. A little empathy and flexibility in customer service can go a long way, and this interaction left a sour note on an otherwise great visit. Overall, the food was fantastic, and I would still return. I just hope that as they continue to grow, their customer service evolves to match the quality of their menu cause that wasn't it. I would definitely recommend. I also tried the pulled chicken. I thought the chicken was a little dry so I will stick to the pork but it was still full of smoky flavor. We stopped by around 1 pm on a Tuesday. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied, so we were seated immediately seated, which was awesome. A very friendly gentleman took our drink orders and brought them back a few minutes later, then took our order. Unfortunately, that was the last time we interacted with him. It actually got kind of annoying, because the person we kept flagging down was mostly just standing there. The food was darn good, the homemade pork rinds are AMAZING. They are well seasoned and come with maybe ranch and a chipotle sauce. My friend ordered a Caesar salad as one of her sides and the dressing was awesome. I ordered the appetizer nachos, and they were HUGE and delicious. The pricing here is a little random and some of it seems really overpriced. One of my friends got an iced tea and it was $8. I asked for some salsa for the pulled pork nachos ($15 and a GREAT price) since they offered Frank's, Louisiana, or Texas Pete hot sauce and I'm not a fan of those, and it is $2 for a shot glass of salsa. We will be back, because the food is really good and they have some really nice options, but will definitely reconsider our expectations when it comes to how much we are going to pay and whether or not we get refills. read more
